Ecotourism (生态旅游) is a way of travelling that helps the environment (环境). When people travel this way, they try not to hurt the places they visit. They also learn to love nature more.
Regular tourism can sometimes hurt the environment. For example, people may need to cut down trees to build hotels. When they build near the beach, they can make dirty water that hurts the sea.
Ecotourism is different. It takes care of nature and helps local (当地的) people at the same time. The money from visitors can help protect (保护) the environment. Ecotourism also creates jobs for local people. They can work as guides or sell food and handmade things. This gives them a reason to keep nature healthy, because a healthy natural environment brings more visitors.
So what can you do to be an ecotourist? First, try to stay in small guesthouses, not big hotels. Bring a water bottle and a bag with you. When you are outside, don’t pick flowers or leaves. Never feed animals, even if they look cute.
Every time you choose to be kind to nature, you help keep the world beautiful. Isn’t that a wonderful way to travel?
4. What is Paragraph 1 mainly about?
A. Where to travel. B. What ecotourism is. C. How to travel happily.
5. What is the main difference between regular tourism and ecotourism?
A. How they make money.
B. How visitors enjoy their trips.
C. How they treat nature and local people.
6. What does the underlined word“them” in Paragraph 3 refer to?
A. Guides. B. Handmade things. C. Local people.
7. Linda is an ecotourist. What may she do during her trip?
A. She may pick flowers. B. She may pick up litter. C. She may feed animals.
【答案】4. B 5. C 6. C 7. B
【解析】
【导语】本文主要介绍了什么是生态旅游,讲述它与常规旅游的区别、带来的好处以及如何成为一名生态游客。
【4题详解】

【5题详解】
第二段第一句提到“Regular tourism can sometimes hurt the environment”,第三段第一二句提到“Ecotourism is different. It takes care of nature and helps local people at the same time”,因此常规旅游和生态旅游之间的区别是如何对待自然和当地人。

第三段提到“Ecotourism also creates jobs for local people. They can work as guides or sell food and handmade things. This gives them a reason to keep nature healthy”,生态旅游给当地人创造工作,这就给他们理由保护自然。因此“them”指代前文的local people。
【7题详解】
根据文中第四段给出的生态游客行为准则,不能采摘花草、不能投喂动物,由此可推知对自然友好的捡垃圾行为符合生态游客的行为特征。

When you think of visiting a library, you may picture walking through tall shelves (书架) and searching for books by hand. You can only go when the library is open. Sometimes, the book is not there, and you have to come back another day. But now, with new technology, libraries are no longer limited (限制) by walls. There are many online libraries. You can use a computer or a phone to look for books. And you can read at home or in a park. This is very helpful.
There are many kinds of books online, like storybooks, science books, and history books. They help students who live far from libraries get books easily. They also help with schoolwork by giving many books to use. Teachers can find good books to help their students learn. And they can read different books to learn better ways to teach.
What makes online libraries special is that many of them go green. Many online libraries now take advantage of clean energy, such as energy from the sun or wind, to run their computers. This helps cut down pollution (污染) and protect our earth.
In a word, online libraries do not just give people a new way to read; they encourage people to learn new things every day and bring people from different places closer (更近) through books. That is why they are growing fast and helping more and more people.

An Unforgettable Experience
Last summer vacation, I went to the countryside with my parents.
The air was fresh and fields were green. One day, we helped a farmer pick strawberries. At first, I didn’t know how, but he taught me patiently—how to choose ripe ones and hold them gently. We worked for hours under the sun. Though tired and dirty, I felt great joy seeing full baskets.
This experience taught me the value of labor and how hard farmers work. It was truly unforgettable!

A. Guides. B. Handmade things. C. Local people.
7. Linda is an ecotourist. What may she do during her trip?
A. She may pick flowers. B. She may pick up litter. C. She may feed animals.

8. How does the writer begin the text?
A. By giving an example. B. By showing differences. C. By sharing a study result.
9. What does Paragraph 2 mainly talk about?
A. Why students far from libraries need help.

10. What does the underlined part “take advantage of” mean in Paragraph 3?
