Blowing sugar figurines (小塑像) is a state-level intangible cultural heritage (非物质文化遗产) in China, with a history of more than 600 years. Walking through old-street markets, you may sometimes catch sight of folk artists performing this amazing skill.
Xiong Chuanfa is a well-known inheritor (传承人) of this folk art. With hot soft sugar in his hands, he can blow lively animals such as rabbits, tigers and monkeys within minutes. Many children crowd around him, looking at his work with big surprised eyes, as if watching a real-life magician. However, the beautiful work never comes easily. He has practised the skill for over twenty years. The temperature of sugar must be just right. Too hot and it will break; too cool and it cannot be shaped.
In the old days, sugar figurine artists mainly worked at street markets. Now Xiong brings this art into colleges and community centres. Some foreign students also come to have a try. Most of them think it looks simple, yet they soon find it full of challenges. Besides live shows, Xiong posts short videos online. Thousands of young people visit his account (账号) and get to know this old craft.
Like many other traditional arts, blowing sugar figurines once faced the risk of disappearing. Modern mass-produced (大批量生产的) sweets draw much attention from kids. But creative new ways help the old heritage stay alive. True cultural heritage does not only sit in museums. It shines when it meets young people’s modern life.
4. What do many children think of Xiong’s performance?
A. They consider it boring and old-fashioned.
B. They feel amazed and treat him like a magician.
C. They want to buy lots of sugar from him.
D. They learn to make sugar figurines all by themselves.
5. What can we infer from the passage?
A. Making sugar figurines needs strict control over sugar temperature.
B. Foreign students can master this skill after one quick try.
C. Sugar figurine art only appears inside city museums.
D. Modern factory sweets have no influence on folk arts.
6. What is the writer’s opinion in the last paragraph?
A. Old heritage should only be kept in museums.
B. Short-video shows cannot spread traditional culture.
C. Traditional arts need new forms to attract young people.
D. Sugar figurines will completely replace modern sweets.
7. What is the main idea of the text?
A. Different kinds of popular street food in modern Chinese cities.
B. The long history of all Chinese intangible cultural heritage.
C. The folk art of blowing sugar figurines and its new ways of passing down.
D. Advice for teenagers on how to learn different handcraft skills.

AI-made short dramas have become very popular on short-video apps in the past year. Unlike traditional small dramas that need actors, cameras, studios and weeks of filming, these AI short dramas can be made by one person in just a few hours with simple AI tools. You only need to type a story idea, and AI will write the stories , make virtual (虚拟的)characters, create scenes, add voices and even finish the whole video by itself.
Many creators like AI dramas because they cost little and are made fast. A team of three once made 80 episodes (集) of an AI history drama with only 3,000 yuan, and it got over 500 million views online. For common people with no filming experience, AI makes their story dreams come true easily. It also lets small content teams make more works in less time, opening a new door for online fun.
However, there are serious problems behind the fast growth. Most AI short dramas have the same repetitive stories—rich-poor reversal (反转), love revenge (复仇), fantasy magic—with no deep or creative ideas. AI often makes logical (逻辑的)mistakes: characters’ faces change suddenly, actions don’t match lines, and scenes are not the same all the time. What’s worse, many AI dramas use misleading or even bad content to win attention, such as untrue history, fighting and wrong values, which misleads young viewers a lot.
Another big worry is that AI may take away jobs. Professional (职业的) actors, directors, editors and screenwriters are getting less work as more companies turn to cheap AI production. Some people also become too crazy about watching these fast, simple AI dramas, losing interest in reading books or watching high-quality films and shows.
Experts say AI short dramas are not good or bad themselves. They are a new tool. What matters is how we use and control them. Platforms should check AI dramas strictly to stop bad content. Creators should add human creativity instead of just copying AI works. And viewers, especially teenagers, should choose meaningful works and control their watching time. Only in this way can AI short dramas develop healthily and bring real fun to people.
8. What can we learn from the example in Paragraph 2?
A. AI dramas are always popular with viewers.
B. Making AI dramas needs a big team.
C. AI helps ordinary people create works easily.
D. Traditional micro-dramas will disappear soon.
9. What does the underlined word “repetitive” in Paragraph 3 probably mean?
A. 新颖的 B. 重复的 C. 精彩的 D. 复杂的
10. Which is NOT a problem of AI short dramas according to the passage?
A. Logical mistakes in videos. B. Misleading and bad content.
C. High cost for small teams. D. Taking jobs from professionals.
11. What is the main idea of the passage?
A. How to make popular AI short dramas.
B. The development of AI video technology.
C. People’s different ideas about creating AI dramas.
D. Advantages, problems and proper use of AI short dramas.

V. Reading Expression ( 5小题,每小题2分,共10分 )(61-63小题每空一词)
Being busy seems very common in our daily life. Many people have lots of plans and endless messages every day. They feel they are making progress all the time. However, lots of people feel very tired at the end of the day. They find their important goals are still difficult to reach. In fact, being busy is not the same as being effective (高效的). Busy work fills your time, but effective work brings real results. Knowing this difference can help you use your time well and pay attention to truly important things.
Being busy may give people a wrong feeling of success. Answering emails and finishing small tasks can bring people the illusion (错觉) of making progress. But these activities often do not help people get closer to their important goals. Besides, busy people often let outside things take up most of their time. So they can hardly control their own time, and this brings them much stress.
Being effective means you care about good results, not only how many things you do. Effective people think ahead about what is important and spend most of their time on those tasks. This good habit cuts down useless work and gives people time to focus.
Too much busyness makes people lose chances for real progress. Some people are busy every day, but they get little valuable things done. Effective people will stop sometimes and check whether they are following their goals. If you judge your day by real progress instead of how busy you are, your work will have more purposes and you will live a more satisfying life.
