ReSpeaker Core v2.0 is a voice control board for smart devices, which can listen to and understand voice commands. The package includes the main ReSpeaker Core v2.0 board, an 8Ω 3W speaker, a 2-Mics Pi HAT, a Micro USB cable, and a guarantee card.
How to Set Up the Hardware?
First, plug the 2-Mics Pi HAT onto the 40-pin GPIO header of the main board. Then connect the speaker to the Pi HAT. Pay attention to polarity: the red wire must be connected to the “+” end. Finally, power on the device using the Micro USB cable connected to a 5V/2A power adapter. The blue LED lights up on startup, and after about 40 seconds it turns green — ready to use.
How to Connect to the Network?
When turned on for the first time, the device will create a hotspot named “ReSpeaker Core-XXXX”. Connect your phone or computer to this hotspot using the password 12345678. Then open a browser (浏览器) and visit http://192.168.100.1 to access the setup page. Select your home Wi-Fi network and enter the password. The device will restart and connect automatically.
How to Interact with the Device?
Once it’s connected, say “Hello, ReSpeaker” followed by commands like “what time is it?” or “play some music”. For best results, speak clearly within 5 meters of the device in a quiet environment. Always use a stable 5V/2A power supply to avoid instability. If problems persist during interaction, press and hold the onboard button for 10 seconds until the LED flashes rapidly to restore factory settings.
21. What is the first step to connect a ReSpeaker Core v2.0 to your home Wi-Fi?
A. Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
B. Open a browser and visit http://192.168.100.1.
C. Connect your phone or computer to the hotspot.
D. Enter the password 12345678 on the setup page.
22. What should you do if the ReSpeaker Core v2.0 keeps having problems?
A. Buy a new power adapter. B. Reconnect it to the network.
C. Unplug it and wait for 10 seconds. D. Press the onboard button to reset.
23. Where is the text probably from?
A. A product user guide. B. A repair service brochure.
C. A technology news report. D. A promotional advertisement.

B
There must be few occasions when it would be really rude to refuse an invitation to hit someone you’ve just met with your fist! But I’m in one of those right now. I’m in a rehearsal room in a theatre with a group of actors, facing up to stage fighting director Kate Waters. She wants me to hit her with my fist. But fear not, this is all strictly pretend! Kate, known in the industry as Kombat Kate, is giving a lesson on how actors fight each other without getting hurt.
Already a passionate martial arts expert from childhood, Kate did drama at university, and one of her courses introduced her to stage fighting. When she made inquiries about the possibility of teaching it as a career, she was told about the register of stage fight directors and the qualifications she’d need to be accepted into it. It was no small order: as well as a certificate in advanced stage fighting, she would need a black belt in karate (空手道) and skill in fencing, a sport she’d never tried before. But she rose to the challenge and finally successfully became one of only two women on the official register.
Of course, a stage fight is just smoke and mirrors. In our lesson, Kate shows me how an actor will stand with his or her back to the audience ahead of a planned slap (拍). When the slap comes it makes contact not with the skin but with the air: the actor hits his chest or leg to make the sound of the slap.
In the rehearsal room, I can’t resist asking Kate how she thinks she would do in a real fight.Would she give her attacker a hard time? She laughs,“Oh, I’d be awful,” she says.“I only know how to pretend.” I can’t help thinking, however, that she's just being rather humble.
24. Why does Kate ask the author to hit her?
A. To show actors stage fighting skills. B. To teach actors to defend themselves.
C. To help actors rehearse an action scene. D. To attract actors' interest in martial arts.
25. What was a challenge Kate faced in becoming a stage fight director?
A. She could not find a female teacher. B. She had no prior experience in drama.
C. She had to master an unfamiliar sport. D. She had trouble obtaining a certificate.
26. What do the underlined words“smoke and mirrors” in paragraph 3 mean?
A. A difficult technique. B. A dangerous situation.
C. A well-planned lesson. D. A misleading performance.
27. What does the author imply about Kate’s real fighting ability?
A. She relies a lot on tricks.
B. She may lack confidence in herself.
C. She might be better than she admits.
D. She excels more at performing than fighting.
A 25. C 26. D 27. C
根据文章第一段的“She wants me to hit her with my fist. But fear not, this is all strictly pretend! Kate, known in the industry as Kombat Kate, is giving a lesson on how actors fight each other without getting hurt. 她想让我用拳头揍她。但别担心,这一切都是完全假扮出来的!业内被称为 “格斗凯特” 的凯特正在上一堂课,教演员们如何在不受伤的情况下打斗。)” 可知,Kate 让作者打她是为了展示舞台格斗技巧,教演员如何安全地进行舞台打斗。
【25题详解】
细节理解题。根据文章第二段的“It was no small order: as well as a certificate in advanced stage fighting, she would need a black belt in karate (空手道) and skill in fencing, a sport she’d never tried before.(这可不是个小任务:除了需要高级舞台格斗证书外,她还需要空手道黑带,以及掌握一项她从未尝试过的运动 —— 击剑技能。)”
根据下文“In our lesson, Kate shows me how an actor will stand with his or her back to the audience ahead of a planned slap (拍). When the slap comes it makes contact not with the skin but with the air: the actor hits his chest or leg to make the sound of the slap.(在我们的课上,凯特向我展示了演员在计划好的拍打动作前如何背对观众。当拍打动作发生时,手掌并没有接触皮肤,而是打在空气中:演员会拍打自己的胸部或腿部来制造拍打声。)”可知,舞台格斗并不是真实的打斗,而是通过技巧制造出逼真的效果,具有误导性。因此 “smoke and mirrors” 在此处意为 “一种误导性的表演”。
【27题详解】
推理判断题。根据文章第四段的“She laughs, “Oh, I’d be awful,” she says. “I only know how to pretend.” I can’t help thinking, however, that she’s just being rather humble.(她笑着说:“哦,那我会很糟糕的。”她说道,“我只会懂得如何假装罢了。”然而,我不禁觉得她只是太谦虚了。)”可知,作者认为Kate说自己在真实打斗中会很糟糕,其实是一种谦虚的说法,暗示她的真实打斗能力可能比她自己承认的要好。

Ash and sand do not sound like ideal conditions for growing delicious food. Yet in Lanzarote, farmers have developed unique systems to adapt to this environment that is now providing a blueprint for agricultural systems that do well without water.
From 1730 to 1736, more than 30 volcanoes erupted in Lanzarote, burying a quarter of the island under lava (熔岩) and ash, wiping out its most productive farmland. Just a few decades later, drought took hold, a situation that still exists today, with the island receiving rain only about 16 days per year, totalling below 150 millimetres.
People and practices evolved in beautiful and sustainable ways. Through trial and error, they developed a unique agricultural system that continues to feed the island today, largely without irrigation. One of the island’s most distinctive practices is ash-mulch (灰烬覆盖) farming. Farmers cover the soil with a layer of volcanic ash and small stones, which traps drops of water, protects roots and stops the soil drying too fast.
This not only conserves moisture but also adds essential minerals that enrich the soil. Grapes, legumes and sweet potatoes have all been grown in this way. Some farmers also use sand-mulch farming, applying a fine, organic marine sand called jable that is blown onto the island by Atlantic winds. This light sand forms a layer that preserves moisture in the soil below. These traditional farming practices cover over 12,000 hectares of the island, enabling the production of wine, fruits, and legumes in one of the driest regions of Europe.
In May 2025, Lanzarote’s agricultural system was recognised by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS), celebrating the island’s biodiversity conservation and sustainable practices, as well as its contribution to food and livelihood security. FAO has a network of more than 100 unique agricultural systems in 29 countries — from the erva-mate agroforests of Brazil and ancestral terraces (梯田) in Mexico to traditional pear farms and white tea growing in China. These systems are safeguarding traditional knowledge, supporting biodiversity and helping rural communities do well under the pressure of climate change.
28. What does paragraph 2 mainly discuss about Lanzarote?
A. Volcanic eruptions. B. Organic farming.
C. Productive farmland. D. Agricultural challenges.
29. What does the underlined word “This” in paragraph 4 refer to?
A. The reduction of water supply. B. The way of sand-mulch farming.
C. The practice of ash-mulch farming. D. The conservation of diverse plants.
30. What does the example of white tea growing in China imply?
A. The economic benefits of white tea. B. The global diversity of agricultural systems.

根据第二段“From 1730 to 1736, more than 30 volcanoes erupted in Lanzarote, burying a quarter of the island under lava (熔岩) and ash, wiping out its most productive farmland. Just a few decades later, drought took hold, a situation that still exists today, with the island receiving rain only about 16 days per year, totalling below 150 millimetres.( 从1730年到1736年,兰萨罗特岛爆发了超过30座火山喷发,使岛上四分之一的土地被熔岩和火山灰掩埋,摧毁了最高产的农田。仅仅几十年后,干旱便接踵而至,这一状况至今仍然存在:该岛每年降雨仅约16天,总降雨量不足150毫米。)”可知,第二段主要讨论了兰萨罗特岛火山破坏耕地、水资源极度匮乏,都是当地农业发展面临的严峻挑战。
【29题详解】
词句猜测题。根据第三段中“One of the island’s most distinctive practices is ash-mulch (灰烬覆盖) farming. Farmers cover the soil with a layer of volcanic ash and small stones, which traps drops of water, protects roots and stops the soil drying too fast.( 其中最具特色的实践之一是“火山灰覆盖法”。农民用一层火山灰和小石子覆盖土壤,既能截留雨水,保护根系,又能防止土壤过快干燥。)”详细介绍了ash-mulch farming(灰烬覆盖耕作法):农民在土壤上铺火山灰和小石子,锁住水分、保护根系、减缓土壤干燥。第四段首句承接该内容,说明其保水、增肥的双重作用。代词“This”就近指代前文介绍的核心耕作方式,即灰烬覆盖耕作法。
【30题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段中“FAO has a network of more than 100 unique agricultural systems in 29 countries — from the erva-mate agroforests of Brazil and ancestral terraces (梯田) in Mexico to traditional pear farms and white tea growing in China. These systems are safeguarding traditional knowledge, supporting biodiversity and helping rural communities do well under the pressure of climate change.( 联合国粮农组织有一个覆盖29个国家的网络,其中包含100多种独特的农业系统,包括巴西的马黛茶农林系统、墨西哥的传统梯田,以及中国的传统梨园和白茶种植模式。这些系统不仅守护着传统知识,还支持生物多样性,并帮助农村社区应对气候变化带来的压力。)”可知,最后一段提到FAO的网络涵盖29个国家的100多种独特农业系统,随后列举了巴西、墨西哥、中国的多个典型案例。列举中国白茶种植是为了例证全球农业系统的丰富多样性,体现该网络覆盖地域广、类型多。
【31题详解】
推理判断题。根据第一段“Ash and sand do not sound like ideal conditions for growing delicious food. Yet in Lanzarote, farmers have developed unique systems to adapt to this environment that is now providing a blueprint for agricultural systems that do well without water.( 火山灰和沙子听起来似乎不是种植美味食物的理想条件。然而,在兰萨罗特岛,农民们已发展出独特的适应系统,以应对这种环境,如今这些经验为无需灌溉的农业体系提供了范本。)”和全文内容可知,文章开篇点明兰萨罗特岛的特色旱作农业系统是缺水农业的典范,随后介绍其形成背景、具体耕作方式与价值,最后说明其获得国际认可。全文核心是介绍这一独特的可持续农业模式。

A video of a lifelike robot released by a Chinese robotics company shows the robot’s head blinks, nods, and looks around in a convincing imitation of a real human face. The head, created by AheadForm, might find use in research on human-robot interactions or in various industries, including customer service and entertainment.
Founded in 2024, AheadForm aims to make interactions between humans and robots feel more natural and engaging, according to the company’s website. The company hopes to integrate AI systems such as large language models (LLMs) with realistic robotic heads so that robots can understand and respond to people in real time.
“Our current focus is on creating sophisticated (先进的) humanoid robot heads that can express emotions, perceive their environment, and interact smoothly with humans,” a company representative said on the website.
AheadForm has produced multiple series of robot forms, including its “Elf” line of pointy-eared figures with precise control systems and a more human-looking “Lan Series” of bots designed to prioritize cost-efficiency and intuitive movements.
In building a robotic head that can integrate with AI, the company aims to make robots more approachable and relatable. That could be useful for industries such as customer service, education, and healthcare, “where building trust with human users is essential,” according to the website.
Researchers from AheadForm are already working on how this might play out. In a 2024 study published in the journal Science Robotics, AheadForm founder Yuhang Hu and his colleagues designed a robot that could analyze, predict, and mimic (模仿) human facial expressions in real time.
To achieve the subtle, precise facial movements in the video, AheadForm uses brushless motors. These tiny devices run quietly and work together to create the lifelike twitches and glances that make the head seem realistic. Inside this particular model, the Origin M1, there are up to 25 tiny motors that control the head’s expressions. The bot also has cameras in its pupils to help it “see” its environment, along with built- in speakers and microphones it can use to interact with users on the fly.
32. What do we know about the robot in the video?
A. It has been widely used in various industries.
B. It is designed by an international robotics company.
C. It can function better than human in certain aspects.
D. It has the potential to promote human- robot interactions.
33. What does AheadForm center on at present?
A. Developing advanced robots that entertain people.
B. Designing robots that fit in with their surroundings.
C. Producing robots with flexible and lifelike heads.
D. Combining AI with their existing robot models.
34. Why does the author mention a robot designed by Yuhang Hu and his colleagues?
A. To illustrate the usage of the robot.
B. To demonstrate the robot’s ability to communicate.
C. To show AheadForm’s progress in robotic research.

A Seattle-area raccoon with a shortened spine (脊柱) has become one of the Internet’s most celebrated animals. Videos of Jimothy balancing on backyard fences and going about his nightly routine have gained millions of views. His popularity makes sense. ____36____. But what if our emotional investment in the life of a wild raccoon had less to do with Jimothy himself and more to do with what he awakens inside of us?
____37____. We spend our days in environments shaped entirely for people, created by people. Our screens and daily lives mostly reflect us to ourselves. However, something essential is lost when our lives become like that. ____38____. Encounters with wild animals de-center humans in a way that is both fascinating and expansive. Jimothy’s presence pulls us out of our own world and reminds us that we are fellow creatures existing within an ecosystem.
Perhaps what draws us to Jimothy is not only his intriguing way of navigating urban life as a uniquely shaped raccoon, but the recognition that we ourselves have become disconnected from the natural world in the digital age. ____39____. Ecological identity is the part of our personal identities formed through relationships with landscapes, plants and animals. Recognizing that our identities extend beyond the borders of our skin and mind to include the natural world around us helps us to experience a sense of belonging. Our consciousness of our neighborhoods shifts from houses to ecosystems. Families of birds live in the trees, their lives unfolding in parallel with our own. ____40____.
A. We exist as members of a larger web of life.
B. Modern life has become almost human-centric.
C. Our living environment has changed dramatically.
D. Animals with cute appearance always capture our hearts.

后文“But what if our emotional investment in the life of a wild raccoon had less to do with Jimothy himself and more to do with what he awakens inside of us?(但如果我们对野生浣熊生活的感情投入,与其说是与Jimothy本身有关,不如说更多地与他在我们内心唤醒的情感有关呢?)” F选项“He’s adorable and easy to recognize with his unique body shape.(他外形独特,可爱且容易辨认。)”
本空是段首主旨句,后文“We spend our days in environments shaped entirely for people, created by people. Our screens and daily lives mostly reflect us to ourselves. However, something essential is lost when our lives become like that.(我们的一天生活被完全由人类塑造、为人类所设计的环境所包围。我们的屏幕和日常生活大多只是映照出我们自己的模样。然而,当我们的生活变得如此时,某种本质的东西却悄然失落了。)”指出我们生活在完全由人类打造、服务人类的环境,屏幕和生活只映照人类自身。B选项“Modern life has become almost human-centric.(现代生活几乎已变得以人类为中心。)”
前文“However, something essential is lost when our lives become like that.(然而,当我们的生活变得如此时,某种本质的东西却悄然失落了。)” 后文“Encounters with wild animals de-center humans in a way that is both fascinating and expansive.(与野生动物的相遇,以一种既迷人又开阔的方式弱化人类的中心地位。)” E选项“People are wired to interact with what we call wild otherness.(人们倾向与与我们所说的“野生他者”互动。)”
前文“Perhaps what draws us to Jimothy is not only his intriguing way of navigating urban life as a uniquely shaped raccoon, but the recognition that we ourselves have become disconnected from the natural world in the digital age.(也许吸引我们关注Jimothy的,并非他作为外形独特的浣熊,在城市生活中展现出的奇特生存方式,而更在于我们在数字时代里,自身已与自然世界逐渐疏离的事实。)” 后文“Ecological identity is the part of our personal identities formed through relationships with landscapes, plants and animals.(生态身份是我们通过与自然景观、植物和动物的关系形成的个人身份的一部分。)”立刻引入概念Ecological identity(生态身份)。G选项“Seeing videos of Jimothy awakens our inner child who explored nature with wonder.(观看Jimothy的视频唤醒了我们内心的孩子,用惊奇探索自然。)”
前文“Families of birds live in the trees, their lives unfolding in parallel with our own.(鸟群的家庭栖居在树上,它们的生命与我们的生命并行展开。)” A选项“We exist as members of a larger web of life.(我们是更广阔生命网络中的一员。)”

A Beautiful Sound in Life
Sounds carry significant importance in our daily life. Personally, what strikes me most is the sound of reading aloud.
First and foremost, this sound implies the cultural roots that thrive deep in our hearts. Reading classical literary works aloud reflects an unparalleled love for traditional culture and lights the torches of cultural confidence, arousing emotional echoes that resonate with the whole body and mind. Besides, the sound is an indicator of enduring knowledge and profound philosophy, helping us achieve understanding beyond time’s boundaries, and leaving deep impressions on our hearts. Far more than just a sound, it is a quiet force that shapes my thoughts and nourishes my soul.
To be frank, I recognize the sound of reading as a melody to my ears. What is your most beautiful sound in life?

Steve was the most amazing person in all of Minneapolis, and he was my cousin. By the age of 19, Steve was a star baseball player at the University of Minnesota. I wanted to be exactly like him. So when Steve asked me to go with him on a spring fishing trip in northern Minnesota, I was excited!
After planning the trip, we gathered clothes and supplies, and began our great adventure. We reached the Superior National Forest in northern Minnesota by early evening. On our way to the campsite, Steve pointed to a small house faraway in one of the mountains, saying that it was the ranger station (护林站) where the forester worked.
Finally, after a long walk, we reached the campsite and set up the camp as the sun was setting. Steve knew all the tricks of an experienced wilderness camper. After we gathered enough wood from the forest, he started the campfire using only stone and steel — no matches. For supper we feasted on freezedried beef, wild rice and pea soup. I ate greedily after all that work.
Tired enough, we climbed into our sleeping bags early and talked about our plans for fishing the next day. We were still talking quietly when a sudden north wind picked up; the temperature dropped and it began to snow. Steve found a way to increase the temperature inside the tent. He dragged a log (原木) from the forest to the opposite side of the campfire. Then he wrapped (包裹) aluminum foil (铝箔) around the log. The heat from the fire reflected off the foil and into the tent. Soon images of lake fish were filling my dreams.
The snow had stopped, but sometime later a powerful wind must have kicked up the flames of our dying fire. I was abruptly awakened by Steve. Our tent was on fire. Frightened, I ran out of the tent immediately. The tent collapsed with Steve inside. Without any thought of endangering myself, I reached into the burning tent and pulled him to the icy lake. Fortunately, we were not seriously hurt.
注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右;

One possible version:
Later, as we stood by the burning tent to keep warm, we considered our difficult situation. Our campsite was in the deep of the forest, really far away from the highway. We were in the middle of nowhere, wearing only underwear, with our supplies burnt into ashes, including our cell phones. Even Steve was unsure what to do next. The only thing we could do was just to sit in the cold air and wonder how to get out of the forest.
Suddenly, we heard a noise in the forest. Anxiously we listened and stared into the darkness. A jeep appeared. A forester had spotted the light from the fire and had come to have a check. We jumped into the warm vehicle and the forester drove us to the ranger station, where we were given clothes and were able to call our parents. Steve and I had many more camping adventures from then on, but it was on this trip that Steve began to treat me more like a friend and equally, rather than a younger cousin. Our friendship continues to this day.

C
C. China’s leadership in agricultural heritage. D. Innovation in modern agricultural technology.
31. What is the purpose of the text?
A. To describe Lanzarote’s farming history. B. To teach dry-climate farming methods.
C. To introduce a farming model. D. To define eco-agriculture concepts.
D
