In 1999, Giuliana Furci, founder and founding director of the Fungi (真菌) Foundation, developed a deep interest in fungi. They were everywhere, and the 20-year-old took particular joy in the variety of mushrooms: small and button-shaped; tall and umbrella-like; round with red caps topped with white flakes. Some were commonly found in people’s diets, for they were rich in nutrients such as vitamin, fiber, minerals and protein.
But Furci also quickly realized that these fungi went largely ignored in Chile, where there were few guidebooks and an almost total lack of policies and resources to protect them from overharvesting and other human activities. Determined to correct this, Furci wrote a field guide and set up the Fungi Foundation — a nonprofit dedicated to fungi conservation. In her guide, special attention went to the role of fungi in the ecosystem.
“Life on the planet wouldn’t exist without fungi,” said Greg Mueller, a mushroom conservation expert. “Because of their relationship with forests and trees, we can’t survive without fungi. In terms of the health of the planet, they’re incredibly important to humans and the overall ecosystem.” Fungi can break down plants and animals, thus cycling nutrients and increasing their availability in the soil. They are also important contributors to the soil carbon stock through the same process. What’s more, fungi have been found to help degrade (降解) various pollutants, such as plastic. And mycelium (菌丝体), which is the root structure of mushrooms, is now being used to replace unsustainable materials, such as plastic and animal-based products.
Because of these, exploration of fungi was expanded at a faster pace. However, some were already listed as critically endangered. In 2010, Furci took an even bigger step — with other environmental nonprofits, she put forward a proposal for the government to systematically assess how large new developments such as housing, dams, and highways affect fungi. In 2012, a law was passed and Chile became the first country in the world to protect fungi by law.
4. Why did Furci establish the Fungi Foundation?
A. To promote the consumption of edible fungi.
B. To draw attention to fungi conservation.
C. To study the variety of mushrooms in Chile.
D. To create more jobs related to fungi research.
5. What do we know about fungi from Paragraph 3?
A. They are mainly used to produce plastic alternatives.
B. They can only survive in forests and on trees.
C. They play a key role in maintaining ecological balance.
D. They are the most nutrient-rich organisms on earth.
6. What was the result of Furci’s proposal in 2010?
A. Chile became the first country to study fungi systematically.
B. A law to protect fungi was passed in Chile two years later.
C. Over-harvesting of fungi in Chile was completely banned.
D. New developments in Chile were stopped to protect fungi.
7. Which of the following best describes Furci?
A. Ambitious and cautious. B. Stubborn and determined.
C. Passionate and committed. D. Knowledgeable but indifferent.
【答案】4. B 5. C 6. B 7. C

(但弗尔奇很快意识到,这些真菌在智利在很大程度上被忽视了——当地几乎没有相关指南,也完全缺乏政策和资源来保护它们免受过度采集及其他人类活动的破坏。为了改变这一现状,弗尔奇撰写了一本野外指南,并成立了真菌基金会——这是一个致力于真菌保护的非营利组织。)”可知,弗尔奇成立真菌基金会是为了引起人们对真菌保护的关注。故选B项。
【5题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段中的“Life on the planet wouldn’t exist without fungi (没有真菌,地球上的生命就不会存在)”以及“In terms of the health of the planet, they’re incredibly important to humans and the overall ecosystem (就地球健康而言,它们对人类和整个生态系统都极其重要)”及后文提到的真菌分解动植物、循环养分、降解污染物等作用可知,真菌在维持生态平衡中扮演关键角色。故选C项。
【6题详解】
细节理解题。根据第四段中的“In 2010, Furci took an even bigger step — with other environmental nonprofits, she put forward a proposal for the government to systematically assess how large new developments such as housing, dams, and highways affect fungi. In 2012, a law was passed and Chile became the first country in the world to protect fungi by law. (2010年,弗尔奇迈出了更大的一步——她与其他环保非营利组织合作,向政府提出一项提案,建议系统评估住房、水坝、高速公路等大型新建项目对真菌的影响。2012年,一项法律得以通过,智利成为世界上首个通过法律保护真菌的国家。)”可知,弗尔奇2010年的提案最终促成智利在两年后出台了真菌保护法。故选B项。
【7题详解】
推理判断题。根据第一段“Giuliana Furci, founder and founding director of the Fungi Foundation, developed a deep interest in fungi(Giuliana Furci是真菌基金会(Fungi Foundation)的创始人兼首任理事长,她对真菌产生了浓厚的兴趣)”可知,弗尔奇对真菌有着浓厚的兴趣,这种浓厚的兴趣体现了她对真菌相关事物的热情。根据第二段“But Furci also quickly realized that these fungi went largely ignored in Chile, where there were few guidebooks and an almost total lack of policies and resources to protect them from overharvesting and other human activities. Determined to correct this, Furci wrote a field guide and set up the Fungi Foundation — a nonprofit dedicated to fungi conservation.(但弗尔奇也很快意识到,这些真菌在智利在很大程度上被忽视了 —— 当地几乎没有相关指南,也完全缺乏保护它们免受过度采集及其他人类活动破坏的政策与资源。为改变这一现状,弗尔奇撰写了一本野外指南,并成立了真菌基金会 —— 这是一个致力于真菌保护的非营利组织。)”可知,弗尔奇意识到真菌在智利被很大程度上忽视,于是她决心改变这一状况,写了一本野外指南并成立了真菌基金会,致力于真菌保护。这显示了她为保护真菌奉献自己的时间和精力的决心。以及最后一段“In 2010, Furci took an even bigger step — with other environmental nonprofits, she put forward a proposal for the government to systematically assess how large new developments such as housing, dams, and highways affect fungi.(2010年,弗尔奇迈出了更大的一步 —— 她与其他环保非营利组织合作,向政府提交了一项提案,建议对住房、水坝、高速公路等大型新建项目如何影响真菌进行系统性评估。)”可以看出,她还积极推动政府对真菌保护进行系统性评估,最终在2012年智利通过了保护真菌的法律。这些行动都充分体现了她对真菌保护的奉献精神。故选C项。
C
It's a classic complaint in relationships, especially romantic ones: "She said she was okay with me forgetting her birthday! Then why is she throwing dishes in the kitchen? Are the two things related?"
The answer is YES. Communication is more than words. It's how those words are said, the tone, the order, even the choice of a particular word. It's multi-dimensional, as explored by Deirdre Wilson and Dan Sperber in Meaning and Relevance. Consider the following example: Peter got angry and Mary left; Mary left and Peter got angry. Though identical in words, their meanings differ completely. The first one may have us thinking: Wow, Peter must get angry often if Mary leaves. The second sentence suggests that Peter wants more from Mary. Same words — a totally different context.
Human language is not a code (编码). True codes have a one-to-one relationship with meaning. One sound, one definition. This is what we see with animals. Wilson and Sperber explain that "coded communication works best when emitter and receiver share exactly the same code." Not so for humans. We communicate more than the definitions of our words would suggest. This is inferential communication, and it means that we understand not only the words spoken, but the context in which they are spoken.
Irony (反语) is a great example of how powerfully we can communicate context with a few simple words. It is more than just stating the opposite. For example, when Mary says, after a boring party, "That was fun", she is neither saying literally that the party was fun nor saying "ironically" that the party was boring. Rather, she is expressing an emotion. Three words replace paragraphs, showcasing language's efficiency.
Wilson and Sperber concluded that human language developed and became so powerful because of two unique abilities of humans: language and the power to try to interpret mental states of others. We look for context for the words we hear. And we should be very good at absorbing this context to infer meaning.
8. What does the complaint in Paragraph 1 mainly indicate?
A. The inconsistence between words and meaning.
B. The misinterpretation of emotional expressions.
C. The crucial role of non-verbal communication.
D. The underlying messages in casual remarks.
9. What may make human language different from true codes?
A. The context included in understanding meanings.
B. The definitions made by words in communication.
C. The coded communication between emitter and receiver.
D. The fixed correspondence between words and meanings.
10. What does the underlined word “emitter” in Paragraph 3 refer to?
A. Passive observer. B. Message receiver.
C. Code translator. D. Message sender.
11. What does the author suggest in communication?
A. Stating the opposite directly.
B. Translating word by word.
C. Reading beyond the words.
D. Simplifying messages to single meanings.
【答案】8. A 9. A 10. D 11. C
【解析】
【导语】这是一篇说明文。文章围绕“人类语言的交流特点”展开,介绍了语言交流不仅是文字本身,还涉及语气、语境等多维度因素。
【8题详解】
推理判断题。根据第一段“She said she was okay with me forgetting her birthday! Then why is she throwing dishes in the kitchen? Are the two things related? (她说她不介意我忘记她的生日!那她为什么在厨房里摔盘子呢?这两件事有关系吗?)”以及第二段“Communication is more than words. It's how those words are said, the tone, the order, even the choice of a particular word. (交流不仅仅是言语。还包括这些话是怎么说的,语气,顺序,甚至是某个特定单词的选择)”可推知,第一段的抱怨主要表明了言语和意思之间的不一致。故选A项。
【9题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段“Human language is not a code (编码). True codes have a one-to-one relationship with meaning. One sound, one definition. This is what we see with animals. Wilson and Sperber explain that “coded communication works best when emitter and receiver share exactly the same code.” Not so for humans. We communicate more than the definitions of our words would suggest. This is inferential communication, and it means that we understand not only the words spoken, but the context in which they are spoken. 故选A项。
【10题详解】
词句猜测题。根据第三段中“coded communication works best when emitter and receiver share exactly the same code (当emitter和接收者拥有完全相同的编码时,编码交流效果最佳)”可知,“emitter”与“receiver”构成通信双方的对立关系,所以emitter是信息发出者。故选D项。
【11题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段“Wilson and Sperber concluded that human language developed and became so powerful because of two unique abilities of humans: language and the power to try to interpret mental states of others. We look for context for the words we hear. And we should be very good at absorbing this context to infer meaning. (威尔逊和斯珀伯得出结论,人类语言之所以发展并变得如此强大,是因为人类有两种独特的能力:语言能力和试图解读他人心理状态的能力。我们为听到的单词寻找语境。我们应该非常善于吸收这种语境来推断意义)”可推知,作者认为在交流中应该理解话语背后的意思,也就是不仅仅局限于字面意思。故选C项。

Recently, OpenAI launched free AI image generation on ChatGPT. The Internet is now flooded with AI pictures imitating the styles of Miyazaki Hayao and other famous artists. Yet AI-generated artworks feel strangely empty to audiences. It is not simply that AI lacks originality; after all, so too does most human art.
The work produced by machines is, in an important sense, a body without soul. There is no self within the machine, and so there can be no connection or community with the other at the level of being.
Art is a unique human pursuit for everyone. It is more than a beautiful combination of colors, forms, sounds and words. As Hegel puts it, art is a sensitive expression of an idea. It is a spiritual and cultural activity. Its beauty lies in how it affects us — whether it makes us think, feel another’s pain, brings hope, or uplifts spirits. When humans create art, they pour indescribable inner feelings and personal life experiences into their works. As a process, art includes all activities and efforts which express human mentality, perceived through our senses.
This special human touch allows viewers to project their own emotions onto artworks and spiritually communicate with creators beyond the limits of language. The permanent value of art comes from the unique inner traces, feelings and life perspectives of individual creators. Art creation is essentially emotional transference. Creators convey inner true feelings, while audiences are able to understand them and find reflections of their own hidden fears and desires in works. Art bridges the inner gaps between audiences and creators with a shared language.
Machine-generated art loses its most vital power — the ability to connect people. This loss is especially harmful in an increasingly lonely world. The disappearance of such artistic connection damages personal relationships and undermines social and political stability. Our society relies on these emotional bonds. We recognize fundamental shared humanity despite our differences.
12. Why do AI-generated artworks feel empty to audience?
A. They are short of originality. B. They fail to convey messages.
C. They lack a genuine connection. D. They imitate other artists’ styles.
13. What does the true beauty of art lie in?
A. The power to touch the human souls. B. The combination of colors and words.
C. The reflection of artists’ experiences. D. The description of human activities.
14. How does art bridge the inner gaps between human beings?
A. It creates special visual effects. B. Viewers personally talk with artists.
C. It relieves viewers’ hidden fears. D. Viewers have empathy with artists.
15. What is the author’s attitude towards the wave of AI-generated art?
A. Supportive. B. Objective. C. Concerned. D. Uncertain.
【答案】12. C 13. A 14. D 15. C
【解析】
【导语】本文主要讲的是AI生成的艺术品让人觉得空洞。真正的艺术承载着创作者的情感与人生体验,可以实现创作者和观众之间的精神沟通。AI艺术缺少这种人与人之间的情感联结,会对人际关系与社会情感纽带造成损害。
【12题详解】
细节理解题。根据第二段“The work produced by machines is, in an important sense, a body without soul. There is no self within the machine, and so there can be no connection or community with the other at the level of being.(从一个重要层面来讲,机器产出的作品只是一具没有灵魂的躯壳。机器没有自我意识,因此无法在存在的层面与他人建立联结、产生精神共鸣。)”可知,AI生成的艺术品让观众感到空洞是因为它们缺少真实的情感联结。
【13题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段“Its beauty lies in how it affects us — whether it makes us think, feel another’s pain, brings hope, or uplifts spirits.(艺术之美在于它对我们产生的影响 —— 能否引发思考、让人感知他人的痛苦、带来希望,或是振奋人心。)”及第四段“Art creation is essentially emotional transference.(艺术创作本质上是一种情感的转移。)”可知,艺术真正的美体现在触动人类灵魂的力量。
【14题详解】
推理判断题。根据倒数第二段“This special human touch allows viewers to project their own emotions onto artworks and spiritually communicate with creators beyond the limits of language.(这种独特的人文温度,能让观者将自身情感投射到作品之上,跨越语言的局限,和创作者进行精神交流。)”和“Creators convey inner true feelings, while audiences are able to understand them and find reflections of their own hidden fears and desires in works. Art bridges the inner gaps between audiences and creators with a shared language.(创作者表达内心真实的感受,而观众能够理解这些情感,并在作品中看到自己潜藏的恐惧与渴望。艺术借助共通的语言,弥合观众与创作者内心的隔阂。)”可知,艺术使观众能够产生共情,与艺术家产生情感联结,以此来消除隔阂。
【15题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段“Machine-generated art loses its most vital power — the ability to connect people. This loss is especially harmful in an increasingly lonely world. The disappearance of such artistic connection damages personal relationships and undermines social and political stability.(机器生成的艺术丧失了它最重要的力量 —— 连接人与人的能力。在这个愈发孤独的世界里,这种缺失尤其具有危害性。这种艺术层面精神联结的消失,会破坏人际关系,动摇社会与政治稳定。)”可知,作者指出 AI 艺术失去最重要的力量,这种缺失有害,会破坏人际关系、动摇社会稳定,因此作者对此表示担忧。

【导语】本文主要讲的是青少年要如何进行职业探索。
【16题详解】
空前“Finding a career as a teenager can be a frightening task, but it’s an important step in preparing you for the future.(青少年时期找到一份职业可能令人感到畏惧,但这却是为未来做好准备的重要一步。)”说青少年找工作是令人畏惧但重要的,空后“It’s a long-term professional path that allows you to use your skills and hobbies to earn a living and make a huge contribution to your country.(这是一条长期的职业发展道路,让你能够运用自己的技能和爱好来谋生,并为国家作出巨大贡献。)”把职业说成比普通工作更深的东西。B项“A career is more than just a good job.(事业不仅仅是一份好工作。)”正好承上,先纠正“职业=好工作”的浅层理解,再引出后文对职业的重新定义,因此符合语境。
【17题详解】
空前“If you want to try different careers, there are countless career paths to choose from.(如果你想尝试不同的职业,有无数种职业路径可供选择。)”说职业路径多,空后“You should step out of your comfort zone and research different industries and job titles to get opportunities.(你应该走出舒适区,研究不同行业和职位,以获取机会。)”说要走出舒适区。G项“It’s important to keep an open mind as you explore your options.(在探索各种选择时,保持开放的心态非常重要。)”中的open mind与后文step out of comfort zone同义推进,且options回指前文countless career paths,因此符合语境。
【18题详解】
空前“This can involve taking relevant classes, participating in training sessions and volunteering in your community.(这包括参加相关课程、参与培训活动以及在社区中做志愿者。)”说可以去上课、参加培训、做志愿活动,空后“You should build relationships with people who have firsthand experience in the fields. Consider joining professional workshops, attending career fairs and connecting with consultants who can offer advice.(你还应与那些在相关领域拥有亲身经验的人建立联系。可以考虑参加专业工作坊、出席招聘会,或与提供职业建议的顾问取得联系。)”又说要建立联系、找有经验的人、参加工作坊。D项“Besides, getting guidance will also be rewarding.(此外,获得指导也会带来收获。)”用Besides把“技能积累”和“他人指导”并列,guidance精准对应后文consultants/people who have firsthand experience。
【19题详解】
空格处是本段主旨句,由空后“Finding a career that fits your interests and values may not happen overnight. It may take time, patience and effort to obtain the perfect job. If you stay focused and keep an open mind, you will increase your chances of finding a rewarding career.(找到符合你兴趣和价值观的职业可能不会一蹴而就。获得理想的工作需要时间、耐心和努力。如果你保持专注并保持开放的心态,就更有可能找到一份令人满意的职业。)”可知,本段主要讲的是找工作需要耐心,要有开放的心态,也就需要坚持不懈和积极的心态,A选项“Be persistent and stay positive.(坚持不懈,保持积极乐观。)”概括了本段内容,可作为主旨句。
【20题详解】
空前“By taking the time to understand your interests, developing your competence, and seeking direction from others, you can set yourself up for success.(通过花时间了解自己的兴趣、提升能力,并向他人寻求方向,你就能为自己铺平通往成功的道路。)”说明了解兴趣,提升能力并向他人寻求方向就可以为自己铺平通往成功的道路,E选项“In time, you’ll find a career that truly makes you satisfied.(假以时日,你终将找到一份真正令自己满意的职业。)”说明按前文的方法做的话你就会获得一份满意的职业,总结全文,交代一个结果,因此符合语境。

第二节(满分25分)
47. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Most people think that procrastination (拖延症) is a negative habit. But people like me who routinely put off doing assignments, are likely to defend our “slower” approach to getting tasks done.
I'm the only procrastination in my family. My parents and sister were all born with the “do it right now” gift. They are always in a rush, as if closely rushed by an invisible deadline. Personally, I prefer a more relaxed pace. When my parents voiced their concern about my tendencies, saying “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today,” “No way!” I responded, confidently presenting my research as a defense. It said people procrastinated when they need to solve a problem or commit to a topic or project. In these cases, delaying a decision can be beneficial. This was because our minds continue to reflect on problems even when we were not actively thinking about them, which could lead to more creative solutions. My findings filled me with satisfaction and pride. My method of getting things done was just as good as my sister’s…or so I thought.
At school we’d been talking about architecture and design. As part of the final assessment my teacher Mr. Smith announced an exciting project that each student would have a month to complete. We were expected to choose our materials, construct a small building and make use of things we had learned in class. Not only would the winners receive extra credit, but the winning constructions would be proudly displayed in the cafeteria. “I have no clue how I could get it done,” my friend Nate sighed in despair. I didn’t say anything. Not because I shared his anxiety but because I was not nervous at all. I loved hands-on projects! Picturing my brilliant work exhibited in the cafeteria, I was fully convinced that I would definitely produce something that could impress everyone. So relaxed was I that I didn’t give it a second thought for weeks.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Before I knew it, I had only one day left for the project.

That taught me a great lesson.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】Para.1 Before I knew it, I had only one day left for the project. In a panic I hastily and quickly glued together what I pulled out from our recycle bin, my hands shaking with the weight of each hasty decision. The finished result looked miserable. Several of my classmates, including Nate, had created amazingly detailed constructions. They used materials like clay, wood and so on and were highly praised by Mr. Smith. When I saw their models, I felt even more embarrassed about mine. It was obvious that they had put a lot more time into the assignment than I had.
Para.2 That taught me a great lesson. I learnt from that day the importance of deciding on my priorities and budgeting my time. From then on, I tackled things a lot earlier instead of putting things off until tomorrow. As a result, not only did I finish my tasks on time, but also I felt better because I didn’t have to panic at the last minute. At the end of the semester, my work was chosen by Mr Smith on another occasion. Seeing my change, my parents and my sister were so proud of me. It dawned on me that getting things done on time instead of being a procrastinator really counted.

A. Supportive. B. Objective. C. Concerned. D. Uncertain.

第二节(满分25分)
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Before I knew it, I had only one day left for the project.
