On March 2nd, SOSD will hold its annual fundraising and adoption event in Urban Park. This combined event aims to raise funds for a new care center while also helping more street dogs find loving homes. The funds raised are crucial for the construction of the SOSD Care Center, a major step to accommodate more dogs in need. At present, SOSD cares for 160 dogs at its shelters and also feeds 70 homeless dogs wandering around on Jurong Island. During the event, visitors can meet several dogs seeking forever homes. These include Odin, recently rescued from an abandoned factory and now recovering from an eye injury; Caleb, a loving dog who was left behind after his owner moved away; and Tami, a fun companion rescued from a forest, who had surgery after suffering a severe leg injury. These three are just a few of the furry friends waiting for adopters. On-the-spot volunteer registration will also be available on March 2nd. This is a great chance to support a worthy cause, so why not take part in the event on March 2nd and help a dog find its forever home? A BC Place Stadium Guide Vancouver is world-renowned for its natural beauty and mountain landscapes. It was the late nineties, when the website was young, and everyone was trying to join in the dot-com boom. In 1999, a company with high-speed Internet hired us to build a cooperative project for its customers. We were worried that we’d taken on work we couldn’t handle but also felt that we were on track to create something innovative. I liked this entrepreneurial experience — its ambition and its energy. Newly confident, we blew through deadlines and finished the project. Unlike other kids, who were what, socializing? I had a business card that said “Creative Director.” I thought I might move to San Francisco and work in a tech company. However, our client’s business was acquired (收购) by a firm. Our salary went unpaid. It was senior year — a fork in the road. We closed our business and moved out of the office. A few days before graduation, when I went to pay my tuition bill, I met a girl to whom I got married later. Under her influence, I became a journalist. I now have a life, a family, and a story. I’m me, not him — whoever he might have turned out to be. The literary scholar Andrew H. Miller writes, “One of the most significant facts about us may finally be that we all begin with the natural equipment to live a thousand kinds of life but end up having lived only one.” We all live in the here and now; we all have actual selves, actual lives. But what are they? Selves and lives have possibilities — that’s what’s unique about them. They are always changing, and so are we, always new. 24. How did the author feel about his early entrepreneurial life? A. Stressed and doubtful. B. Ambitious and hopeful. C. Excited but regretful. D. Confident but cautious. 25. What does the phrase “a fork in the road” in paragraph three mean? A. A small trouble in life. B. An event as expected. C. A significant turning point. D. A place for a short rest. 26. Why did the author become a journalist? A. The financial pressure he faced. B. His long passion for journalism. C. A life-changing chance encounter. D. His fading interest in technology. 27. What does the author intend to convey through Andrew Miller’s quote? A. We should regret the paths we did not take. B. Our identities are fixed from the beginning. C. It is meaningless for us to live a different life. D. Life lies in its many possibilities and changes. B 25. C 26. C 27. 根据第二段“I liked this entrepreneurial experience — its ambition and its energy. Newly confident, we blew through deadlines and finished the project. (我很喜欢这段创业经历 ——它满怀抱负,充满活力。我们信心大增,赶过各个截止日期,完成了这个项目。)”可知,作者对早期创业生活感到充满雄心且抱有希望。 【25题详解】 词句猜测题。根据上文“I thought I might move to San Francisco and work in a tech company. However, our client’s business was acquired (收购) by a firm. Our salary went unpaid. (我原本以为自己会搬到旧金山,去一家科技公司工作。然而,我们客户的业务被另一家公司收购,我们的薪水也迟迟没有发放。)”和下文“We closed our business and moved out of the office. A few days before graduation, when I went to pay my tuition bill, I met a girl to whom I got married later. Under her influence, I became a journalist. (我们关掉了公司,搬出了办公室。毕业前几天,我去缴纳学费的时候,遇见了一个女孩,后来我和她结了婚。在她的影响下,我成了一名记者。)”可知,第三段提到客户公司被收购,工资未付,作者面临是否继续创业的关键选择,随后关闭公司、搬出办公室,并遇到未来妻子转而成为记者。由此可知,a fork in the road意为“重要转折点”。 根据第三段“A few days before graduation, when I went to pay my tuition bill, I met a girl to whom I got married later. Under her influence, I became a journalist. (毕业前几天,我去缴纳学费的时候,遇见了一个女孩,后来我和她结了婚。在她的影响下,我成了一名记者。)”可知,作者在毕业前遇到一位女孩并与之结婚,受其影响成为记者,因此是一次改变人生的偶然相遇让作者成为记者。 【27题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段“Selves and lives have possibilities — that’s what’s unique about them. They are always changing, and so are we, always new. (自我与人生蕴藏着种种可能性 —— 这正是它们的独特之处。它们总在不断改变,我们亦是如此,永远焕然一新。)”可知,作者通过引文传达人生充满可能性且不断变化。 C AI data centers will consume as much water as the water needs of 1.3 billion people by 2030, according to a new report from the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health. The report found that the environmental cost of AI is being “systematically mismeasured” because current assessments focus on the carbon emissions from training language models while overlooking its water and land footprints. The water footprint comes from cooling the data centers, and the land footprint comes from the energy infrastructure (基础建设) and supply chains that go into building and running them. In reality, the report stresses, these initial training costs are dwarfed by inference costs, the cost of running models to answer prompts (提示词), which account for 80% to 90% of total AI energy use. Training GPT-4 consumed 70 GWh, for example. But running ChatGPT uses a monstrous 383 GWh to answer billions of prompts. Factoring in inference costs, AI data centers will use 945 TWh of electricity by 2030, three times the combined use of Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nigeria, which have a total population of over 650 million. That brings us to the water footprint. By that same year, AI’s thirst will see it consume 9.3 trillion liters of water, which equals the basic annual water needs of all 1.3 billion people in Sub-Saharan Africa. Addressing AI’s environmental impact won’t be as straightforward as shifting to greener sources of power, the report warns. “What surprised us most is how often the choices that look greenest from a carbon perspective end up worse for water or for land,” lead author Miriam Aczel said. The bad news keeps piling up: Surprisingly, making AI more energy efficient may actually increase its environmental footprint. “People think that the footprint of AI reduces, as technology improves. But that is only a partial picture of the overall problem,” noted co-author Kaveh Madani. “More efficient and affordable AI and energy mean more consumption of AI, making the overall footprint far bigger than what we save through efficiency gains.” 28. Why is AI's environmental cost “systematically mismeasured”? A. Water and land footprints are neglected. B. The statistics are outdated. C. The measurement tools are questionable. D. Carbon emissions are overstated. 29. What does the underlined word “dwarfed” in paragraph 3 probably mean? A. Reduced. B. Outweighed. C. Doubled. D. Underestimated. 30. What is the author’s main purpose in listing the figures in paragraph 4? A. To predict AI’s future development. B. To stress AI’s huge resource consumption. C. To prove AI’s benefit to developing countries. D. To compare AI’s application in different regions. 31. What is Kaveh Madani’s attitude towards the future environmental impact of AI? A. Concerned. B. Unclear. C. Optimistic. D. Defensive. A 29. B 30. B 31. 根据第二段“The report found that the environmental cost of AI is being “systematically mismeasured” because current assessments focus on the carbon emissions from training language models while overlooking its water and land footprints.(报告发现,人工智能的环境成本正被“系统性地低估”,因为当前的评估主要关注语言模型训练过程中的碳排放,却忽略了其用水足迹和土地足迹)”可知,AI环境成本被系统性低估的原因是评估时忽略了水和土地的足迹。 根据划线词上文“these initial training costs(这些初始训练成本)”及下文“inference costs, the cost of running models to answer prompts (提示词), which account for 80% to 90% of total AI energy use.(推理成本,即运行模型以回答提示所需的成本,占AI总能耗的80%至90%)”可知,推理成本占总能源消耗的80%—90%,占比远超训练成本。 显得渺小;远远超过”,与“Outweighed(超过、重于)”意思接近。 根据第四段“Factoring in inference costs, AI data centers will use 945 TWh of electricity by 2030, three times the combined use of Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nigeria, which have a total population of over 650 million.(考虑到推理成本,到2030年,人工智能数据中心将消耗945太瓦时的电力,相当于巴基斯坦、孟加拉国和尼日利亚三地总用电量的三倍。这三个国家总人口超过6.5亿)”以及“By that same year, AI’s thirst will see it consume 9.3 trillion liters of water, which equals the basic annual water needs of all 1.3 billion people in Sub-Saharan Africa.(到那一年,人工智能的用水需求将达到9.3万亿升,相当于撒哈拉以南非洲13亿人口每年基本用水量的总和)”可推知,作者列举这些数字是为了用对比突出强调AI巨大的资源消耗量。 根据最后一段“More efficient and affordable AI and energy mean more consumption of AI, making the overall footprint far bigger than what we save through efficiency gains.(更高效、更廉价的人工智能和能源意味着更多的人工智能消费,使整体足迹远大于我们通过效率提升所节省的部分)”可知,马达尼认为能效提升反而会因消费增加而扩大AI的整体环境足迹。 D AI is already a part of childhood. While chatbots stand ready to answer questions like, “Are monsters real?” or “Why is the sky blue?”, companies are racing to embed AI into kids’ toys. Take Teddy, a robotic teddy bear that, more than just a toy, can walk, talk, make decisions, and respond to children’s needs and emotions. In the new book, Human Raised: Nurturing Connection, Curiosity, & Lifelong Learning in the Age of AI, author Dana Suskind, a professor at the University of Chicago Medical Center, acknowledges that the technology makes sci-fi concepts plausible, offering promise as, for example, a productivity enhancer and time-saver for parents, a monitoring and research tool to collect valuable data on child development, and an interactive instructor helping some kids learn. But what happens if AI begins replacing the kinds of human interactions that young brains evolved to learn from? Alarms seem to overshadow the conveniences. Suskind cites the research by developmental psychologist Patricia K. Kuhl, who proposed the “social gate” hypothesis (假说) -the idea that children’s brains are biologically wired to learn through social interaction. Studies have shown, for example, that babies learn language much better from a live person than from a screen because social interactions engage the brain in ways passive media do not. The sing-song way parents naturally speak to babies, smiles, gentle touch and back-and-forth exchanges all appear to help open that social gate, facilitating learning and healthy brain development. “If we want children to be able to think critically, to be able to navigate the human world, we’re going to need to make sure that kids have a distinctly human-raised early childhood,” Suskind insists. AI toy companies, however, have different priorities. While those toys may imitate human interaction, Suskind argues they cannot recreate everything that makes human relationships developmentally valuable. Human relationships are messy and filled with emotions, which involve misunderstandings, frustration, quarrels, as well as forgiveness and reconnection. Interestingly, Suskind compares AI relationships to ultra-processed food. “If all you eat is fruit snacks, which are a synthetic (合成的) version of fruit, when you actually eat the real fruit, you will be like, ‘Hmm, it’s not quite as sweet,’” she says. 32. What does the underlined word “plausible” mean in paragraph 2? A. Strikingly popular. B. Increasingly vital. C. Difficult to understand. D. Possible in reality. 33. What does the “social gate” hypothesis help explain? A. Social interaction is essential to early learning. B. AI technology is equally helpful in children’s learning. C. Passive media activate children’s brains for efficient learning. D. Children are born with the ability to learn from surroundings. 34. What does the comparison with ultra-processed food suggest? A. AI can interpret rich human emotions. B. Human relationships seem more attractive to children. C. AI relationships are an alternative to human interaction. D. AI relationships may discourage children from real connections. 35. What can be a suitable title for the text? A. Are AI toys a perfect choice? B. Is AI defining children’s growth? C. Who is responsible for childcare? D. How do AI toys change childhood? D 33. A 34. D 35. 根据第二段中的“acknowledges that the technology makes sci‑fi concepts plausible, offering promise as, for example, a productivity enhancer and time‑saver for parents, a monitoring and research tool to collect valuable data on child development, and an interactive instructor helping some kids learn.(承认这项技术让科幻概念变得plausible,例如有望成为父母提高效率、节省时间的工具,收集儿童发育宝贵数据的监测研究工具,以及帮助部分孩子学习的互动指导者。)” 根据第三段中的“Suskind cites the research by developmental psychologist Patricia K. Kuhl, who proposed the “social gate” hypothesis (假说)‑the idea that children’s brains are biologically wired to learn through social interaction.(萨斯坎德引用发展心理学家帕特里夏·K·库尔的研究,她提出了“社会闸门”假说——儿童的大脑在生理上天生通过社会互动进行学习。)” 根据第五段中的“Interestingly, Suskind compares AI relationships to ultra‑processed food. “If all you eat is fruit snacks, which are a synthetic (合成的) version of fruit, when you actually eat the real fruit, you will be like, ‘Hmm, it’s not quite as sweet,’” she says.(有趣的是,萨斯坎德把人工智能带来的交往类比为超加工食品。“如果你只吃水果零食,也就是水果的合成替代品,当你真正吃到真实水果时,你会觉得‘嗯,好像没有那么甜’,”她说。)”可知,把AI交往比作加工食品,暗示孩子习惯AI虚拟交往后,会削弱对真实人际往来的意愿。 【35题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是第一段中的“AI is already a part of childhood. While chatbots stand ready to answer questions like, “Are monsters real?” or “Why is the sky blue?”, companies are racing to embed AI into kids’ toys.(人工智能已经成为童年的一部分。聊天机器人随时准备回答诸如“怪物是真的吗?”或者“天空为什么是蓝色的?”这类问题,企业正争相把人工智能植入儿童玩具。)”可知,全文从 AI 已进入童年、AI 玩具兴起,到承认 AI 潜力,再到质疑 AI 取代人类互动、引用“social gate”假说、强调人类关系不可复制、以超加工食品作比,始终围绕 AI 玩具如何改变童年展开。A 项“AI 玩具是完美选择吗”仅聚焦玩具好坏,范围过窄;B 项“AI 正在定义儿童成长吗”语气过强,原文是担忧而非断言;C 项“谁负责育儿”全文未讨论;D 项“How do AI toys change childhood?” The Prison of Mask People in the public eye are often heavily judged, and the comments can be cruel. We may not have people commenting on our daily choices in People magazine, but we absolutely have the “invisible audiences” that heavily influence our decisions. ____36____ It imprisons our true selves, forcing us to trade honesty for approval. Researchers have proven that we often think too much of how much people actually notice us. ____37____ Because of this, we constantly edit our lives for an audience that isn’t even watching even though we aren’t famous superstars. But who would you be if no one was watching? Carl Jung, one of the founding fathers of modern psychology, spoke about the “persona”, which is the metaphorical (比喻的) mask we all wear to meet the world. We all have them: the masks of the “successful businessman” or the “nice mom.” ____38____ However, if we wear these masks for too long, the true face underneath begins to disappear. There is a severe cost to living a false life. It is called the “regret argument”. Bonnie Ware, a care nurse, recorded the top regrets of the dying. “I wish I had had the courage to live a life true to myself, not a life others expected of me.” When our lives come to an end, the fear of judgment disappears. ____39____ As the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu said, “Care about what other people think, and you will always be their prisoner.” ____40____ Take off the mask. The only person who truly needs to approve of your life is you. A. Thus, to live a true life, we have to stop. B. However, the pain of self-regret remains. C. We feel as if eyes are following us everywhere. D. Developing a social mask is necessary for changes. E. It makes us avoid wearing bold colors or speaking our minds. F. They are entirely in our heads, but the prison they create is real. G. Without them, fitting into society would be nearly impossible. F 37. C 38. G 39. B 40. 【36题详解】 上文“People in the public eye are often heavily judged, and the comments can be cruel. We may not have people commenting on our daily choices in People magazine, but we absolutely have the ‘invisible audiences’ that heavily influence our decisions. (公众人物常受到严厉评判。我们可能没有人在《人物》杂志上评论我们的日常选择,但我们绝对拥有‘隐形观众’,它们严重影响我们的决定。)”说明普通人也有隐形观众影响决定。空处需要承接“invisible audiences”并引出下文关于“imprison”的内容。F项“它们完全存在于我们的脑海中,但它们创造的监狱是真实的。”符合语境,该项中的They指代前文的“invisible audiences”,且prison与后文“It imprisons our true selves”相呼应,说明隐形观众虽是想象的,但造成的束缚是真实的。 【37题详解】 上文“Researchers have proven that we often think too much of how much people actually notice us. (研究人员证明,我们常常高估别人对我们的关注程度。)”说明我们过度关注他人的注视。空处需要具体描述这种心理状态。C项“我们觉得好像到处都有眼睛在盯着我们。”,该项是对“think too much of how much people actually notice us”的形象化表达,说明我们总觉得被注视。空后“Because of this, we constantly edit our lives for an audience that isn’t even watching even though we aren’t famous superstars. (正因为如此,我们不断地为观众编辑我们的生活,即使我们不是著名的超级明星,观众也不会看。)”中的this指代C项内容,逻辑紧密。 【38题详解】 上文“We all have them: the masks of the “successful businessman” or the “nice mom.” (我们都有:“成功商人”或“好妈妈”的面具。)”说明社会面具普遍存在。空处需要说明这些面具的作用。G项“没有它们,融入社会几乎是不可能的。”符合语境,该项中的them指代前文的masks,说明面具的必要性。空后“However, if we wear these masks for too long, the true face underneath begins to disappear. (然而,如果我们戴这些面具太久,底下真实的脸就会开始消失。)”用However转折,说明面具虽有必要但戴太久有危害,G项与后文形成转折关系。 【39题详解】 上文“When our lives come to an end, the fear of judgment disappears. (当我们的生命走到尽头时,对评判的恐惧消失了。)”说明临终时外界评判的恐惧消失。空处和前文为转折关系,说明此时另一种遗憾的痛苦会留存下来。B项“然而,自我遗憾的痛苦依然存在。”符合语境,该项用However转折,说明虽然不怕别人评判了,但自我遗憾仍在。 【40题详解】 上文“As the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu said, “Care about what other people think, and you will always be their prisoner.” Kashif Hoda was waiting for a train when a young man asked him for directions. Firstly, passion is the core driving force. It keeps us motivated to overcome difficulties and stick to our career long-term. Secondly, salary and self-development matter greatly. While a salary that is decent can guarantee our life quality, constant self-improvement is what sustains long-term career growth. Lastly, I put social recognition last. Others’ expectations are external and should not limit our personal career planning. 词汇积累 重要的:core → vital 坚持:stick to → insist on 确保:guarantee → ensure 持续的:constant → continuous 2. It keeps us motivated to overcome difficulties and stick to our career long-term. What keeps us motivated to overcome difficulties and stick to our career long-term is our lasting passion. 1】When choosing a future career, I rank the three key factors in this order: interest and passion, salary and self-development, and social recognition and expectations.(运用了When引导的时间状语从句的省略用法) 【高分句型2】While a salary that is decent can guarantee our life quality, constant self-improvement is what sustains long-term career growth.(运用了While引导的让步状语从句) 第二节(满分25分) 67. Leo was not excited about spending his Saturday afternoons at the Oakwood Nursing Home. It was a requirement for his high school graduation, but to him, the place smelled like old medicine and boredom. He usually spent his shifts doing the bare minimum: passing out water cups and avoiding eye contact. His least favorite resident was Mr. Henderson, a grumpy (暴躁的) 80-year-old man who always sat in a wheelchair in the far corner of the recreation room. Mr. Henderson never smiled, never joined the group activities, and frequently complained about the “noisy teenagers”. Leo made sure to keep his distance, annoyed by the constant complaints. Yet there was one thing Leo had noticed about the old man. Mr. Henderson always kept a small, worn-out songbook on his lap. One stormy Saturday, the nursing home was hosting its monthly music hour. The residents were gathered in the hall, eagerly waiting for the local volunteer band to arrive. However, at 2:00 p.m., the activity coordinator (协调员), Sarah, rushed in looking panicked. “The band’s bus broke down on the way here,” she announced, her voice shaking slightly. “They can’t make it.” A wave of disappointment swept through the room. Some residents sighed heavily; others lowered their heads. Sarah looked around helplessly, her eyes landing on an old, dusty piano in the corner of the room. “Does anyone know how to play?” she asked the room. Leo froze. He had been playing the piano since he was six and was exceptionally good at it. But the thought of playing in front of a crowd terrified him. He looked at the floor, hoping nobody would notice him. But then, he glanced up at the residents. For the first time, Leo didn’t see a room full of annoying strangers. He saw disappointed people who had been looking forward to this small moment of joy. His eyes stopped at Mr. Henderson, noticing the usual anger had disappeared from his face. Instead, he was staring silently at the empty piano. At that moment, Leo made a decision. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ To everyone’s surprise, a rough, shaky voice began to sing along to the music. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: At that moment, Leo made a decision. He took a deep breath and walked to the piano. His hands trembled slightly as he sat down, but when his fingers touched the keys, a familiar tune filled the room. He began to play a classic song. The residents were startled at first, but soon they were immersed in the beautiful music. Some closed their eyes, savoring the moment, while others nodded gently with the rhythm. Mr. Henderson also leaned forward slightly, his eyes fixed on Leo, as if he was trying to recall something. To everyone’s surprise, a rough, shaky voice began to sing along to the music. It was Mr. Henderson. He opened his mouth, and although his voice was not as clear as it used to be, it carried a deep emotion. He sang with all his heart. Other residents also joined in, and the room was filled with the harmonious sound of music and singing. Leo was deeply moved, and his fingers became more and more dexterous on the keys. At that moment, the storm outside seemed to fade away, and only the warmth and joy in the room remained. 词类激活: 行为类: ①弹奏:play/strum ②加入:join in/participate in 情绪类 ①被吓了一跳:be startled/be taken aback ②被打动了的:be moved/be emotionally overwhelmed 【点睛】【高分句型1】 Some closed their eyes, savoring the moment, while others nodded gently with the rhythm..(使用了现在分词短语作状语) 【高分句型2】Mr. Henderson also leaned forward slightly, his eyes fixed on Leo, as if he was trying to recall something.(使用了“名词+过去分词”独立主格结构) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $2026学年第一学期高三年级开学考,请看听力部分第一节。 According to the map, the train station should be here, but this looks like a building site. Watch out for flying balls and equipment around the kids. Yes, i'll ask whether they provide some protective wear, and i'll also need to make sure none of the equipment . damaged a well, you'll be working with schools, so the equipment will be their responsibility. However, the grounds and what goes on there . will be yours. Oh, I see. Good morning, everyone. B Once, in another life, I was an entrepreneur (创业家). C AI data centers will consume as much water as the water needs of 1.3 billion people by 2030, according to a new report from the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health. A. Concerned. B. Unclear. C. Optimistic. D. Defensive. D AI is already a part of childhood. The Prison of Mask People in the public eye are often heavily judged, and the comments can be cruel. Kashif Hoda was waiting for a train when a young man asked him for directions. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
