B “Did you forget your name?” someone asked me at a networking event a few years ago after it took me almost a minute to say it. “No, I stutter (口吃),” I politely replied. This is what I have to face every day. So I wasn’t upset. I’ve stuttered since I was three years old. In my case, stuttering usually shows itself in terms of repetitions: “My name is S-S-S-S-Samuel.” Instead of being unhappy about the experience at the networking event, I felt proud that I’d brought up my stuttering. But I wasn’t always so forthcoming about it. When I was growing up, I hardly spoke. Whether it was at school or at work, I avoided most social situations out of embarrassment and fear of being laughed at. But things became different after I attended the National Stuttering Association meeting, the largest gathering of stutterers worldwide. It was the first time I’d met so many other professionals who stutter — lawyers, doctors, actors, etc.— all in one place. To my surprise, everyone spoke without fear or embarrassment. In fact, they were proud. Stuttering was celebrated. That was when I first realized that stuttering isn’t something to be ashamed of. It’s just something I happen to do, and that’s okay. The change didn’t happen overnight, but over the last eight years, I’ve started to bring up my stuttering more. I’ve talked to friends and co-workers. I’ve mentioned it in every organization I’ve worked for. And when I talk about it with others, it encourages them to open up, too. My stuttering has allowed me to connect with others and develop stronger ties with them. Don’t get me wrong. It’s still frustrating when I know exactly what I want to say but I just can’t seem to get the words out of my mouth. But today I don’t let my stuttering hold me back. Instead, I let it push me forward and help me make progress. 24. By saying “I wasn’t always so forthcoming about it”, the author means _________. A. he was once an outgoing person B. he regretted talking about his stuttering C. he used to avoid opening up about his stuttering D. he was unwilling to receive comments on his speech 25. How did the National Stuttering Association meeting influence the author? A. He began to make friends with stutterers. B. He learned some skills at stopping stuttering there. C. It made him focus his attention on good comments. D. The confident stutterers changed his attitude to stuttering. 26. What happened after the author started bringing up his stuttering? A. He has improved his work performance. B. He became popular among his co-workers. C. He learned to express himself with simple words. D. He was able to build a close relationship with others. 27.Which of the following can be the best title for the text? A. The power of accepting my stutter. B. The challenge from normal people. C. Special ways to live with stuttering. D. My experience of overcoming stuttering. C Vertical farming is the method of growing plants and crops over each other, mostly in buildings with many storeys (层). They often look like skyscrapers (摩天大楼) with glass around them, similar to a giant greenhouse. Such farming methods can already be seen in cities. For agriculture experts, vertical farming will be in widespread use in the future because the world’s population is growing constantly and there is more need for farming land. Vertical farming offers many advantages. Not only can crops be grown on a smaller area of land, but water can be recycled and used over and over again. Plants grow on minerals and do not need soil. Many farming products can be harvested more than once per year. With the new form of farming, many resources could be saved and forests could be preserved. Burning less fossil fuel (化石燃料) would result in fewer emissions, reduction of global warming and healthier environments. Vertical farming can protect crops from bad weather or disasters like hurricanes, storms, droughts or floods. The same weather conditions all year round provide ideal conditions for perfect crops. On the other side, building such vertical farms can prove to be a costly undertaking. During the beginning of such a project, a lot of energy is needed. Because plants require large amounts of sunlight, buildings need to be provided with artificial sunlight the whole year. But compared to traditional farms that take up a lot of space, vertical farming has a low carbon footprint. It can do without fossil fuels because it relies on energy from the sun. Critics are not sure whether vertical farming projects can really be profitable in the long term. They claim that initial (最初的) costs are too high and suggest that such farms actually need more light and power than in normal regions. Heating and cooling costs would also be enormous. They also say that not all crops can be grown in this way. In my opinion, such farming methods could only be applied to lightweight produce, like small fruits, lettuce and other vegetables. 28. What’s the purpose of building vertical farming? A. To develop healthy plants and crops. B. To satisfy the need of modern farming. C. To make use of natural resources. D. To meet the needs of increasing population. 29. What does Paragraph 3 mainly talk about? A. Different forms of vertical farming. B. The benefits of vertical farming. C. Ways to manage vertical farming. D. Effects of the changes in farming. 30. What is the advantage of vertical farms compared to traditional farms? A. They use less energy. B. They cost less money. C. They take up less space. D. They rely less on the sun. 31. What is the author’s attitude towards vertical farming? A. Opposed. B. Supportive. C. Objective. D. Unconcerned. D Our bodies weren’t made to sit for hours in a classroom. That may be why many kids struggle to stay focused in school, often losing track of lessons. High-intensity (高强度) break exercises can help students focus better. Just a few minutes of activity improves brain function and learning, new research shows, offering a simple solution for classroom problems. Eric Drollette wondered how little exercise was needed to improve focus. He’s an exercise expert at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He led a team that designed a nine-minute, high-intensity break exercise program that could be done in a classroom without extra equipment. It uses short periods of heart-beating activity with short breaks in between. For example, high knees, star jumps, jumping jacks, hops and kicks. They described it in Psychology of Sport and Exercise, a leading academic journal. Twenty-five students aged 9 to 12 tried out the program. At Drollette’s lab, they wore a heart rate monitor and an EEG hat that recorded brain activity in real time. Then they did the high-intensity break exercises, rode an exercise bike or watched a short video. After each activity, participants did some tests. One test showed five fish in a line on a screen, and kids had to note which direction the center fish faced. Other tests focused on math or language skills. During the fish test, the team noticed a change in what Drollette calls “the uh-oh mechanism” — when you realize you made a mistake. High-intensity exercise reduced that response, suggesting that exercise had made kids’ brains more efficient at processing information. Students also performed better on the language tests after the high-intensity workout. But they did a little worse at math. That could be from tiredness, which tends to affect higher-level thinking tasks, Drollette says. Being active can help with both mental and physical health, says Drollette. His recommendation: “Find opportunities to stand up and get moving, even for a few minutes, to keep your brain sharp and your body healthy.” 32. What is the nine-minute program designed for? A. Helping students get better at focusing. B. Training students’ physical strength. C. Making students more active in sports. D. Assisting students to relax after class. 33. What were the 25 students required to do in Drollette’s lab? A. They only did high-intensity exercise. B. They wore equipment to record brain activity. C. They did tests before doing any activity. D. They watched videos for a long time. 34. What effect did high-intensity break exercise have on students? A. It made students better at math. B. It reduced students’ tiredness. C. It improved students’ language tests. D. It made students’ brains slower. 35. Which of the following would be the best title for the passage? A. Short Breaks: A Cure for Students’ Tiredness B. High-Intensity Break Exercises: A Way to Improve Math C. Short Breaks: A Solution to Building Health D. High-Intensity Break Exercises: An Aid for Students’ Focus 第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 A recent Gallup study found that a majority of working people said they were more angry, stressed and worried in 2018. The fact is that we don’t relax enough and enjoy our leisure time enough. So what’s the fix? Maybe it’s making the best use of the potential leisure time we do have, particularly our weekends. It feels like a lot of us just use Saturday and Sunday to make up for work and sleep. 36 . Below are some relaxation tips and a few hints on how to have a good weekend. Take some time away from your phone! It is called “screen/life balance.” 37 . Maybe checking your phone for texts or emails only once an hour, instead of all the time. If you want to be really bold, try leaving your phone at home during certain weekend activities. Stay in the moment! Find ways to make your mind focus on where you are in the moment, what you’re doing right then and there, and what it all feels like. “Five senses meditation” is a great way to achieve the stage of focus. To do this, get still and focus on what you’re sensing. Notice five things you can see. Then four that you can feel. Three that you can hear. Two you can taste. One you can smell. 38 . And sometimes you don’t have to follow that playbook exactly, just do whatever you want to do with the five senses. __39__. A lot of us fall into the trap of saving weekend work we have to complete for Sunday evening, which means Sunday can be pretty stressful and feel like Monday. To avoid those “Sunday scaries,” maybe get those few hours of work done at some other point during the weekend, so that the last thing you do during your weekend can be something actually fun. Focus on making new memories, rather than just repeating the workweek. To make the most of quality time with friends and loved ones, make it a point to talk about work as little as possible. We should redefine our hangouts: make new memories and learn new things about the people you care about. 40 . Maybe ask your friends to tell you a memory of their first date or the story of their favorite song. ANYTHING but work. A. Ask questions that go beyond “how was your week?”. B. Beat the “Sunday scaries” by planning something fun, for the end of your weekend! C. Being lost in phones will cause neck pain and prevent people from getting out for fun. D. Thinking about those senses and what you’re experiencing can help you keep focused. E. One recent study found that just over a quarter of working people plan to use all their vacation days. The rest of us — most of us — never do. F. However, there are ways to maximize the weekend time to head back to work on Monday feeling more energized and happier. G. Setting up some rules for phone use over the weekend can be helpful. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。 Heather McKelvey of Columbus, Ohio, had just finished 41 at the grocery store with her 4-year-old daughter Catherine when a unicorn (独角兽) balloon caught the little girl’s 42 . We did everything together—went to school, had lunch, and spent weekends hanging out. But as we grew older, I gradually developed a strong possessiveness towards her, unable to bear seeing her get along well with anyone else. I secretly hated it when she chatted with other classmates or went shopping with her cousins, feeling like my private friend was being "taken away". One Saturday afternoon, Lily excitedly told me that she had made an appointment to go to the bookstore with our new classmate, Mia. I felt a flood of anger and jealousy instantly, my voice turning cold as I shouted at her, "Why do you need to go with her? Can't we go together as usual?" Lily looked shocked at my reaction, explaining Mia loved reading too and that they wanted to share book recommendations. But I refused to listen, letting my possessiveness take over. "You're my best friend! You should only spend time with me!" I yelled, my eyes filled with sorrow and anger. Lily's smile faded, and she looked at me with disappointment. "I'm your friend, not your property," she said quietly, then turned around and left, leaving me standing alone, my heart filled with mixed emotions. For the next few days, we didn't talk to each other. Every time I saw Lily chatting and laughing with Mia in the classroom, I felt a sharp pain in my heart. I only blamed her for "abandoning" me, never reflecting on my own selfishness or the hurt my words had caused. One afternoon, Lily approached me after class, her eyes full of hesitation, wanting to talk things through. But I turned away coldly, refusing to look at her, for fear that her words would make me admit my "loss" and lose my pride. I even avoided her deliberately, not giving her a chance to explain. That night, out of boredom, I picked up a book on the bedside table and accidentally came across an article about true friendship. That inspired me to take action. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150个左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 The next day, I gathered my courage and went to Lily after class. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ After that conversation, I joined Lily and Mia in going to the bookstore.________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 高二英语试题 第 1 页 共 4 页 高二英语试题 第 2 页 共 4 页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 周口第三高级中学2026-2027学年高二上学期第一次月考英语卷参考答案 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 1. I'm writing to share our views with you. Every coin has two sides, and AI is no exception. On the one hand, AI helps us solve difficult problems quickly and offers personalized suggestions, allowing us to learn at our own pace. On the other hand, some students may rely on it too much and stop thinking independently, which could lead to a loss of basic skills. In my opinion, AI is a double-edged sword. We should make good use of it while avoiding its disadvantages. Only by using it properly can we truly benefit from it. Yours, Li Hua   第二节(满分25分) Paragraph 1 The next day, I gathered my courage and went to Lily after class. My hands were sweating and my voice trembled a little as I stood in front of her. I lowered my head and said sincerely, “Lily, I’m so sorry for what I said and did these days. I was too selfish and possessive, treating you as my private property and hurting your feelings. A true friend should never trap you, and I really regret it.” Lily looked at me softly, her eyes no longer filled with disappointment. She patted my shoulder and said, “I’m glad you can realize your mistake. I still value our friendship so much.” Paragraph 2 After that conversation, I joined Lily and Mia in going to the bookstore. At first, I felt a little awkward, but Mia’s warm smile and passion for reading quickly made me relax. We walked around the bookstore together, picking out our favorite books and sharing our reading thoughts happily. When we talked about the same novel we all loved, I found we had a lot in common. That day, I truly understood the meaning of true friendship—it’s not about possession, but about trust, tolerance and growing together with each other. Our friendship became stronger after this experience, and I cherished it more than ever. 附听力原文: 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 1. A 【解析】 【原文】M: The cake tastes so smooth, Jenny. Is it from Mario’s bakery? W: Actually, I made it. I learned it from my dad, and he got the recipe from Mario, the owner of the bakery. 2.B 【解析】 【原文】W: I watched a documentary about Chinese martial arts yesterday. It was fascinating. You should check it out. M: Documentaries? Hmm. I usually find them boring. I prefer comedies. 3. C 【解析】 【原文】W: Wait, I need to go back home to change into a formal dress. M: Why? It’s just a gathering for family and friends. So, what you’re wearing is fine and we need to hurry, or we’ll be late. W: Okay, let’s go to the party directly. 4. A 【解析】 【原文】M: Where will the ballet performance be put on? W: It was supposed to be held in the theater, but it’s been moved to the concert hall because a face changing opera will be on in the theater at that time. 5. B 【解析】 【原文】M: I see you work out in this gym regularly. Do you live nearby? W: Yes, only a 10-minute walk from my apartment. I like its large space, but it would be better if there were more updated equipment. 第二节(共15小题;每小题1.5分,满分22.5分) 6. A 7. C 【解析】 【原文】M: Lisa, could you do me a favor? W: Sure. Mr. Brown, how can I help you? M: I need some special gift recommendations. My wife’s 60th birthday is coming up. W: Happy birthday to Mrs. Brown and does she have any hobbies? M: Yes, she’s really into gardening. She spends hours every day tending to her roses and vegetables. W: Then why not get her a new set of gardening tools? M: I already bought her one last birthday. W: Well, how about gardening journals? She could keep track of her plants growth in it. M: Wow, that’s an amazing idea. I love it. 8. B 9. B 10. C 【解析】 【原文】W: Hey, Mike, did you hear about the special screening of Zootopia 2? M: Yeah, I read the news online. So many people brought their dogs to watch it. That’s pretty cool, right? W: Absolutely. The cinema even prepared water and special popcorn for the dogs. My neighbor took her dog and she shared photos with me. I can see they had a great time. M: I bet. But were the dogs quiet during the movie? I can’t imagine a cinema full of barking dogs. W: Surprisingly, most of them were well behaved. The movie seemed to attract them. Only one small dog made a little sound at the most exciting part. M: That makes sense. The special screening sounds more fun. I hope our city can hold such kind of pet-friendly activities more. 11. B 12. B 13. C 【解析】 【原文】W: Hello. M: Hi, Susan, this is Tom. I heard the city museum is holding a traditional Chinese art exhibition. Would you like to go with me? So, we can get student tickets. W: Terrific. By the way, when is the exhibition open? I need to check my schedule. M: It’s open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day except Mondays. And this Sunday is the last day, so we’d better go this weekend. W: How about Sunday morning? I have a piano lesson on Saturday afternoon. M: Okay, let’s meet at the museum gate at 9 o’clock. 14. B 15. A 16. A 【解析】 【原文】W: Oh, Max, look at your fridge. It is filled with ready meals. No fresh food at all. M: Yeah, I know. I’ve been really busy with my new project, working overtime almost every day. Ready meals are so convenient. Just heat them up and dinner’s ready. W: I understand, but most pre-made dishes may have too much salt and fat. M: Don’t worry, mom, I’ve checked the labels carefully. These are low-salt and low-fat. W: That’s a relief, but nothing beats homemade food. It keeps fresh flavors and provides health benefits. M: Totally. I’ve been eager for your tomato and egg noodles. W: Well, I’m free this Sunday. How about if I come over with fresh eggs and tomatoes and we cook together? M: That sounds wonderful. I’ll clear my schedule. Can’t wait to have a home cooked meal. 17. A 18. B 19. C 20.
