I wish that I were a bird. She told me that she would join the club. The teacher told us that light travels faster than sound. I wonder if he is a driver. Do you know what his name is? I don’t know who saved the girl. She asked me whose book this was. I wonder which city he will visit next. 引导词 当从句为陈述句时,用that 引导(口语中可省) I know (that) she is a boss. He said (that) he liked English and that he would learn it well. I'm thinking that he is right. I wonder if she is a boss. Could you please tell me where you are from? He wants to know what he is. 1.Listening to music is a good way to relax when you feel ________ (stress). 2.You need rich _________ (imagine) if you want to write such creative stories. 3.More practice can help you build up your _________ (confident) in public speeches. 4.Neither the manager nor the workers _________ (be) ready for the coming challenge. 5.The railway station was crowded with ________ (passenger) waiting for the late train. 6.Learning to play the violin well is really ________ (challenge). 7.His story made a deep ________ (impress) on everyone. 8.The artist’s ________ (create) works won high praise from the art community. 9.You should be ________ (patience) with the kids when you teach them. 10.Don’t keep ________ (argue) with your parents. On these days, people may feel low and unwilling to do anything. For teenagers, bad weather, failed exams, broken friendships or pressure from schoolwork can easily bring up such negative feelings. Usually, these bad feelings do not last long. Most teens can cheer themselves up by talking with friends, taking part in outdoor activities or focusing on new school tasks. Slowly, they will forget their troubles and return to their normal life. However, if a teenager keeps feeling sad, lonely and hopeless for more than two weeks, this is not a simple bad mood. It is a dangerous sign that needs careful attention from both parents and teachers. Growing up is a process of seeking independence. As teens grow older, they start to challenge rules and fight for more freedom. They complain about parents’ strict requirements and hope to make their own decisions in life. This is a natural and necessary step of growth, which shows that teenagers are developing self-awareness and want to be treated as adults. Many teenagers refuse their parents’ control openly, yet they still rely on their parents in many ways. This strange mix of independence desire and real dependence often causes parent-child disagreements and inner confusion for teens. In fact, teenage education is never a simple choice between strict rules and total freedom. The best family education lies in keeping a healthy balance between the two. Parents need to set clear and proper rules to guide their children’s behavior, helping them form good habits and sense of responsibility. At the same time, parents should be flexible and understanding. They must respect teens’ growing need for independence and personal space. It is common for teens to feel upset and angry when they have to ask for parents’ agreement to visit friends or join after-school activities, even though they wish to be fully independent. Parents should see such moods as normal growth pains instead of rude resistance. The US Department of Education has offered useful advice on teenage family education. It points out that parents should respect and support their children’s personal choices as long as these choices will not cause long-term harm to their study, health and future. Many daily choices of teenagers are totally harmless. The music they listen to, the clothes they wear and their personal hobbies may not fit parents’ taste, but these small choices will not affect their school performance or physical and mental health. In such situations, too much prevention will only make teens feel stressed and distance themselves from their parents. Still, freedom never means doing whatever one wants. When teenagers’ choices turn into risky or harmful behaviors, strict rules and proper punishment become necessary. For example, behaviors like drinking and driving, skipping school on purpose, staying out late or making friends with bad people will bring serious results. In such cases, parents must stop their children firmly and give clear punishment. This helps teens learn a basic life lesson: more freedom comes with more responsibilities, and wrong choices will lead to unavoidable bad results. This kind of boundary awareness plays a key role in teenagers’ long-term healthy development. 1.What does the underlined word “resistance” in Paragraph 3 probably mean? (26-27九年级上·江苏无锡·阶段检测)Once Upon a Time in the Middle East, also known as Welcome to Dragon Restaurant, is a highly praised anti-war film directed by Wen Muye, who is good at showing ordinary people’s growth and inner goodness amid hardships. Starring Shen Teng and Jiang Qiming, the film vividly presents the spiritual change of an ordinary Chinese chef trapped in cruel Middle Eastern warfare. Xu Fu, an experienced chef from Northeast China, fell into huge debt after a fire accident in his restaurant injured a customer. Faced with large money to pay and the duty of supporting his elderly mother and young daughter, he took a risky job as the head chef of Dragon Restaurant in Bahata, a city severely destroyed by ongoing wars. There, he worked alongside Ma Junsheng, a thoughtful and quick-witted restaurant manager familiar with local affairs. Driven only by personal interests at first, Xu Fu aimed only to earn enough money to clear his debts and return home safely. He showed little care for the sufferings of local civilians and countless war orphans, even though the restaurant served as a rare impartial zone that kept stable water and food supplies in the chaotic city. As the war grew worse, Xu Fu and Ma Junsheng were arrested and detained by a cruel radical leader known as “the Principal”, who took homeless children and trained them as self-killing bomb attackers for terrorist attacks. At first, the two partners only planned a private escape for themselves and Saif, a young orphan who had learned cooking skills from Xu Fu. However, upon learning that dozens of imprisoned children would be sent on deadly bombing tasks in days, they decided to save all the innocent youngsters at the risk of their own lives. To prevent the children from carrying out violent tasks, Ma Junsheng secretly added poisonous ‘sprouted potatoes’ to the meals, leaving all the children physically unfit for the terrorist plan. When the trick was uncovered, Ma Junsheng took full blame for the incident and was killed by the extremists. His selfless sacrifice completely changed Xu Fu’s mind. In the end, Xu Fu built up great courage to rescue all the trapped orphans, showing that true kindness can shine brightly even in the darkest moments of war. 1.What does the underlined word “chaotic” in Paragraph 3 mean? 故填are。 5.The railway station was crowded with ________ (passenger) waiting for the late train. 6.Learning to play the violin well is really ________ (challenge). 7.His story made a deep ________ (impress) on everyone. make a deep impression on sb. 8.The artist’s ________ (create) works won high praise from the art community. 9.You should be ________ (patience) with the kids when you teach them. 10.Don’t keep ________ (argue) with your parents. I’m Kit...’” found发现;got得到;accepted接受;made制作。 根据前文Kit主动介绍自己、坦然谈论伤疤并把伤疤看作酷的经历,以及后文Emma的想法“Why couldn’t I act like her?” A growth mindset plays an important role for Grade 9 students. A growth mindset means believing our abilities can 1 through hard work, instead of thinking our talents are fixed forever. Last term, Li Hua did badly in his science quiz. 2.Which of the following is a normal teen growth-change according to the passage? A.Feeling sad for over three weeks continuously. B.Refusing schoolwork to relax oneself. C.Hoping to make personal decisions independently. D.Keeping away from all parent-child communication. 3.What can we infer from Paragraph 4? A.Parents’ personal taste should decide teens' life choices. B.Harmless personal hobbies should win parents’ respect. C.Teens’ daily choices will affect their school grades greatly. D.Parents should ignore all of their teens’ bad moods. 4.What is the writer’s idea towards teens’ harmful behaviors? A.Parents should take strict and firm actions. B.Parents should choose to understand and forgive. C.Teachers rather than parents should take charge. D.These behaviors are normal and need no care. 5.What can we infer from the passage? A.Teenagers’ ways to deal with daily down days. B.Too much freedom without rules may do harm to teens. C.Proper rules and freedom both matter to teens. D.Strict rules can make teenagers more excellent. 1.根据第三段“Parents should see such moods as normal growth pains instead of rude resistance.” 2.根据第二段“They complain about parents’ strict requirements and hope to make their own decisions in life.” 3.根据第四段“parents should respect and support their children’s personal choices... Many daily choices of teenagers are totally harmless.” 4.根据第五段“When teenagers’ choices turn into risky or harmful behaviors, strict rules and proper punishment become necessary.” 5.综合全文,特别是第三段“The best family education lies in keeping a healthy balance between the two.” (26-27九年级上·江苏无锡·阶段检测)Once Upon a Time in the Middle East, also known as Welcome to Dragon Restaurant, is a highly praised anti-war film directed by Wen Muye, who is good at showing ordinary people’s growth and inner goodness amid hardships. A.dangerous and disordered B.quiet and peaceful C.rich and comfortable D.clean and tidy 2.What can we infer from the passage? A.The Principal failed to carry out his bombing plan as planned. B.Ma Junsheng made the plan to poison food mainly to protect Saif alone. C.Xu Fu managed to escape from the extremist base with the help of Ma Junsheng’s relatives. D.Sprouted potatoes were the only toxic material available in the restaurant back then. 3.What is the change of Xu Fu’s attitude during the story? A.Selfish → Doubtful → Hopeless B.Careless → Fearful → Proud C.Greedy → Thankful → Regretful D.Self-centered → Shocked → Brave-hearted 4.What is the main purpose of this text? A.To describe the severe destruction brought by Middle Eastern wars. B.To comment on the director’s unique filming techniques and styles. C.To introduce the touching plot and humanistic theme of a popular anti-war movie. D.To explain how cooking skills help people escape dangerous war zones. 1.根据第三段“in the chaotic city”以及上文“a city severely destroyed by ongoing wars”可知,这个城市被战争严重摧毁,因此chaotic意为“混乱的、无序的”,与dangerous and disordered(危险且混乱的)意思最接近。 2.根据第五段“Ma Junsheng secretly added poisonous ‘sprouted potatoes’ to the meals, leaving all the children physically unfit for the terrorist plan.”以及“When the trick was uncovered, Ma Junsheng took full blame for the incident and was killed”可知,马俊生通过下毒使孩子们身体不适,无法执行炸弹袭击任务,虽然他被杀害,但恐怖计划未能按原计划实施,因此可以推断“the Principal”未能按计划执行轰炸计划。 3.根据第三段“Driven only by personal interests at first, Xu Fu aimed only to earn enough money to clear his debts and return home safely.” 可知,马俊生的牺牲让徐福深受震撼(Shocked);根据第五段“In the end, Xu Fu built up great courage to rescue all the trapped orphans”可知,徐福最终鼓起勇气拯救孤儿,变得勇敢(Brave-hearted)。故选Self-centered → Shocked → Brave-hearted. 4. explained  careless  cared  decision  communicate  stressed  organized  with  confident  progress A lot of teenagers face problems in their daily lives.
