Making a good job choice is almost as good as choosing a good life. So choosing a job is one of the most important decisions to make in life.
As for my job, there are three important things that I will consider. The first one is that I must work in an area I like. It’s the most important to me. Someone once said, “If you find a job that you enjoy, then you won’t have to work a day in your life.” I would like to work in an area where I can be more creative. I would like to be the most valuable member there. All this is possible only if I like what I do.
The second one is that my work must involve solving some new and hard problems. I would like to stay in the same area for a long time. So the work must provide enough problems. I enjoy trying my best for the whole progress, more than just working to live. Of course, I would also like to be well remunerated for my hard work, so I can lead a comfortable life with this hard-won money. Then I can provide the best for my family.
The third important thing is that I would like to work in an area that would help other people. The work in my mind is in fields such as the army, training or management. In such areas, I can help to develop the abilities of others and bring out their best. It would be the most satisfying job to help young people to become the best that they can be.
I accept the idea that no one should make a choice of a job suddenly or quickly. He should decide what he wants to be in the long run. Then, he should decide how he works toward it. He should take the proper courses, read the books and speak to knowledgeable persons in that field before making a job choice. A good choice will most probably lead to a better life.
1. How many important points does the writer think about in choosing his job?
A. One. B. Two. C. Three. D. Four.
2. Why does the writer consider an enjoyable job more important?
A. Because it can make him more creative. B. Because it can provide the best for his family.
C. Because he has chances to help others. D. Because he has chances to take proper courses.
3. What does the underlined word “remunerated” mean in paragraph the passage?
A. Trained. B. Praised. C. Accepted. D. Paid.
4. What is the passage mainly about?
A. The writer’s job choice. B. The writer’s favourite job.
C. The writer’s comfortable life. D. The writer’s sense of satisfaction.

I soon saw two pirates (强盗) lying on the deck at the back of the ship. One was dead. The other, Israel Hands, was hurt and calling for wine. I went below into the cabins to search. The cabins were broken and dirty. Finally, I found some food, a bottle of wine and some water and went back onto the deck.
I drank the water and gave Hands the wine. As he drank it, the colour returned to his face. “At present, I am controlling this ship, Mr Hands,” I said. “You need to treat me as your captain.”
He looked at me unhappily, but he could do nothing. But Israel Hands foxily watched me with strange eyes. “I imagine,” said Hands, “you, Jim Hawkins, want to get to the bank. But now you need my help. So give me some food and drinks, and something to tie up my wound. Then I’ll tell you how to sail the ship. That’s fair, isn’t it?”
“I want to get to North Inlets.” I said. Israel Hands agreed to give me help, and in three minutes, the Hispaniola was sailing easily along the coast of Treasure Island. I then found a scarf to help Hands tie up the knife wound in his leg. After eating and drinking, he sat up and looked better. Israel Hands was very good at guiding me. Then we turned into the harbour.
I was concentrating (思想集中) hard on bringing in the ship in safely and forgot to pay attention to Israel Hands. When I turned around, surprised to see Hands was standing behind me, his knife in hand ready. I jumped away and ran down the deck. It surprised me how quickly he could move with his wounded leg. I quickly climbed up the ropes and prepared both my guns. Hands climbed slowly and painfully after me, his knife in his mouth.
“One more move, Mr Hands,” I said, “and I’ll kill you!” Suddenly, one of his hands went back, and a knife flew through the air. I felt a sharp pain. But both of my guns fired, and fell into the sea together with Israel Hands.

Then I’ll tell you how to sail the ship. That’s fair, isn’t it?”(‘我想,’汉兹说,‘你,吉姆·霍金斯,是想去银行。 以及第5段“I was concentrating (思想集中) hard on bringing in the ship in safely and forgot to pay attention to Israel Hands.
1. 根据空缺处前文“However, quite a few students find it hard to manage their homework well.(然而,相当多的学生发现很难很好地管理自己的作业。)以及后文“Here are some practical tips to help you make homework less difficult and improve your learning results.(这里有一些实用的建议,可以帮助你降低作业的难度,提升你的学习效果。)”可知,空缺处需要承接前文学生面临作业管理难题的语境,说明该问题带来的负面影响,同时引出后文的解决方案。F选项“They often feel stressed about it.(他们经常为此感到有压力。)”表述的是学生因作业管理问题感到有压力,恰好承接前文的问题,符合上下文逻辑。故答案为F。2. 本段主旨句为“Make a plan.(制定计划。)”,空缺处前文介绍了学生每晚需要花费1到2小时完成作业,作业量多的时候甚至需要更长时间,后文提到如果计划放学后参加体育活动或其他活动,制定计划就更有必要。空缺处需要围绕“制定计划”的核心,衔接前后文内容。A选项“It’s a good idea to make a homework plan.(制定一份作业计划是个好主意。)”明确提出制定作业计划是好主意,完全契合本段主旨,能够承接前文作业量多的情况,引出后文其他需要规划的活动。故答案为A。
3. 空缺处是本段的主旨句,后文内容为“A bedroom, a study or any quiet room free from noise is a great choice for finishing homework. However, avoid studying on your soft and comfortable bed. It is easy for you to feel sleepy and fall asleep before you finish your tasks.(卧室、书房或者任何没有噪音的安静房间都是完成作业的好选择。但是不要在柔软舒适的床上学习,你很容易在完成任务前就犯困睡着。)”可知,整段内容都围绕学习地点的选择展开,因此主旨句需要点明学习地点这一核心主题。B选项“Pay attention to your study place.(注意你的学习地点。)”
,空缺处前文为“Most students’ attention can hardly stay focused for a very long time.(大多数学生的注意力几乎无法长时间保持集中。)” E选项“That’s why you need to take a short break while working on your homework.(这就是为什么你做作业的时候需要短暂休息一下的原因。)”
5. 本段主旨为“Ask for help when you need it.(必要时寻求帮助。)” 后文提到“However, they might not give you the results you want. Because lots of students can understand something well but are not able to explain it.(然而,他们可能无法给你想要的结果,因为很多学生能很好地理解知识,但无法把它讲解清楚。)” D选项“Your classmates may also be able to give you a hand.(你的同学也或许能帮你一把。)”

The new energy vehicle (NEV) industry has developed rapidly in China over recent years and now takes the lead worldwide. At present, 10 percent of all cars on the country’s roads are NEVs. Reports show that NEV sales took up 47.9% of new car sales in 2025, and experts (专家们) predict that the percentage will rise above 50% by 2026.
Several reasons push this fast development. First, government policies encourage people to choose NEVs. Second, the prices of NEVs have fallen greatly. What’s more, related technology has made great progress. For example, better battery performance makes it possible for NEVs to travel much farther than before. And there are over 12 million charging stations across China, so drivers can recharge their cars without difficulty.
The rise of NEVs in China is making a big difference to the environment. Unlike traditional vehicles, NEVs mainly depend on clean energy — electricity. As more drivers choose NEVs, less carbon dioxide goes into the air. NEVs produce less air pollution than traditional vehicles.
In the future, China’s NEVs will become smarter and more eco-friendly. AI and 5G technology will help create self-driving cars to make journeys easier.
1. What’s the percentage of NEVs on the roads in China now?
______________________________________________________________
2. What power do NEVs mainly depend on?
______________________________________________________________
3. How many charging stations are there across China
______________________________________________________________
4. What helps develop self-driving cars for future NEVs?

Starting from 2026, Jiangsu Province has carried out a new holiday policy for compulsory education students. Besides traditional winter and summer holiday, students can enjoy a three-day autumn holiday every year. The holiday is usually arranged between October and November. This new policy is designed for students’ long-term development. In the middle of the long autumn term, most students face heavy study tasks.

2. What power do NEVs mainly depend on?
