Do you often order take-out food (点外卖)? Have you ever tried a “take-out PE class”? This new kind of service (服务) was popular during this summer vacation.
To have a “take-out PE class”, we can order it on smart-phone apps. The coach (教练) will then come with all the things needed for the exercise. The classes include simple fitness training and sports like basketball and tennis. One-on-one lessons usually cost 200 to 400 yuan, Guangming Daily reported.
“It’s so convenient (方便的),” said a woman surnamed Wang whose child is in 3rd grade. She used to spend an hour taking her child to the gym. “Now, the coach comes to the open area of our neighborhood, and I can watch from the balcony (阳台),” she said.
But this new service also has problems. The Paper (澎湃新闻) reported that most classes take place in neighborhood squares or parks. The ground is often too hard for running and jumping. This can be bad for our health. In addition, many people walk by or cars pass through sometimes. This can be dangerous.

(25-26七年级上·北京西城·期中)“Hi, Brody!” Abby calls out when she walks into the classroom. Brody and other dogs run happily towards her. Abby is a student in New York and the dogs are part of the Mutt-i-grees curriculum (课程). The Mutt-i-grees curriculum brings dogs to classrooms to teach students some important lessons. It started in 2010 and more than 4,000 schools have used it.
“Dogs make kids feel better about themselves and school,” says one of Abby’s teachers, “Some dogs came from animal shelters (收容所) and now live here happily. They are everyone’s friends.” Abby and her classmates take good care of the dogs. They feed the dogs and play with them every day. These help the students learn teamwork and kindness, making school a better place for everyone.
The dogs can also help students learn more about emotions (情绪). Abby shares her thoughts, “When Brody wags the tail, we know he’s happy. But when he lies down with his ears back, it might mean he is nervous.” By watching how dogs show feelings, students learn to connect people’s actions (行为) with their emotions. “If we see someone looking sad, we can help them. It makes our friendships stronger.” Abby says.
The curriculum even inspires (激励) the students to help other animals in need. In Abby’s school, students once held a special event to teach others about shelter animals. They made posters and wrote letters to call on others to help. “Knowing we’re helping animals makes us feel good,” Abby says with a smile. “It brings us closer to each other and to the animals.” Through their care, these students show they can make a difference in their school and in the lives of homeless animals.

(26-27七年级上·江苏无锡·阶段检测)
Starting this autumn semester, students at primary and middle schools in Beijing have longer breaks between classes. They have been changed from 10 minutes to 15 minutes so that students can spend more time outdoors for their physical and mental (心理的) well-being.
During the break time between classes, Xiao Jingsheng from Beijing Shangdi Experimental School often rushed to the toilet then back to class with no time for anything else. But now that changes.” I can have more time to rest,” says the 14-year-old boy.
To help children better enjoy break-time activities, some schools mix break time with labor education (劳动教育) by opening planting areas and animal breeding zones (饲养区).
“We welcome new friends to our school—some ducks and rabbits!” says Zhang Boren, a 13-year-old student from Beijing 101 Middle School Kuangda Campus. “During the breaks, some play with these cute animals, while others exercise on the playground. We get closer to nature, which is refreshing and relaxing.”
As the break time is longer, safety is also important. Physical education (PE) teachers from the School Affiliated to Chaoyang Education Research Center keep an eye on students playing on the playground to make sure everyone is safe. “Sometimes the ground can be wet in the morning, so we tell the students to do more upper body exercises to avoid (避免) running and slipping,” says one PE teacher.

Why Should You Have a Hobby?Having a hobby brings lots of great things to your life. First, it helps you relax after a busy study time. Second, a hobby can make you smarter. Third, it makes your free time colourful. Finally, hobbies can help you make new friends because you like the same thing.

I am a bookworm because reading is a big part of my life. I love to read in the room, in a bookstore, under a tree, or even in the bath. I’m glad to lose myself in a good book. Stories take me to go on exciting adventures.
Every Saturday morning, I go to the bookshop with my dad. I feel happy choosing a new book. Each book is like a new friend. Each book is a new world. My dad never hurries me. He knows a bookshop is a special place. Here, I can take my time and let my imagination (想象力) fly.
I love bookshops more as I grow. They are like magic doors to other worlds. The people who work there help me find good stories. I learn that books are more than stories—they help me know who I am.
