①In today’s world, communication is very important for teenagers. However, many of them find it difficult to communicate well. So, how can teenagers communicate better?
②First, listen carefully. When someone is talking with you, stop what you’re doing and look at them. For example, if your friends are sharing something important, put down your phone and focus on their words. This shows you respect them and are interested in what they say.
③Second, express (表达) yourself clearly. Use simple words to say what you think and feel. If you’re angry because a friend borrowed your book without asking, you can say, “I feel unhappy when you took my book without telling me.” Don’t be afraid to share your true thoughts.
④Third, use body language. A smile, a friendly look, or a nod can make your words more powerful. When you say “Yes” with a big smile, it makes others feel your agreement more strongly. Sometimes, we need to use body language more often.
⑤Fourth, respect others’ opinions. Even if you don’t agree, don’t interrupt (打断). You can say, “I see your point, but I think differently. Let’s talk about it.” This way, you can have a good discussion without hurting others.
⑥Finally, choose the right time and place. Don’t talk about serious things when your friend is in a hurry. Find a quiet place where you can both focus on the conversation.
⑦Good communication skills will help teenagers make more friends and have better relationships. So start practising these tips now!

Passage 4
①“Am I an ‘I’ person or an ‘E’ person?” It is a popular topic today. Many people are so crazy about it that they take a personality test named Myers Briggs Type Indicator to find out the answer.
②Many people find MBTI useful. It groups people into 16 types, which start with the letter “I” or “E”, such as “ENTJ” “INFP” or more. “E” is short for “Extroversion” while “I” is short for “Introversion”. “I’m an ‘E’ person. I should go to the party and make more friends.” “I’m an ‘I’ person. I’d like to work by myself. I could be a writer in the future.” They believe different types can help them make decisions on activities, jobs, or even life choices more quickly.
③But there are also problems. Some people take the test for a second time and get different results. Some people find it hard to answer some questions. “I like watching TV by myself. But I also enjoy playing with friends. Am I an ‘I’ person or an ‘E’ person?”
④When you take a personality test, you may think, “Oh, that’s me.” That’s because the descriptions (描述) are generic. They can be used to describe many people. Research has found that over 50% of people get a different point when they retake MBTI just five weeks later. Personalities can change with time, and they are not black-or-white, scientists say. You may be introverted now but become extroverted when you get older. Or you can be both an “I” person and an “E” person. Don’t label (贴标签于) yourself! Studies have also shown that the test is not real at telling people’s success in different jobs. So, don’t take it too seriously.
13.According to Paragraph 2, if you are an “E” person, you may ________.
A.like to cook meals at home on weekends
B.like to read books in the library on vacation
C.like to watch movies with a pet dog on Friday night
D.like to celebrate different festivals with different people
14.What does the underlined word “generic” in the last paragraph probably mean?
A.清楚的 B.通用的 C.特殊的 D.神奇的
15.What is the problem of MBTI according to Paragraph 3?
A.People don’t believe different types can help them make decisions.
B.Personalities can change with time, but the result never changes.
C.It is hard for people to answer some questions.
D.Many people are crazy about MBTI.
16.Why does the writer write the passage?
A.To show us what MBTI is. B.To tell whether MBTI is useful.
C.To tell us how people use MBTI. D.To show how many people use MBTI.

“Keep trying, and you’ll make it. Nothing is out of reach if you put your heart into it.” These words, once said by a sports legend, perfectly fit the story of Quan Hongchan and the quality of perseverance (毅力) she shows.
Quan Hongchan started diving at a very young age. When she first joined the diving team, she was smaller and less strong than many of her teammates. Some people doubted if she could make it in the competitive world of diving. But Quan didn’t let those words hold her back. How did she face them and succeed?
Every day, she would practice diving countless times. When she wasn’t satisfied with her own dives, she’d ask the coach to replay the video and correct every small mistake. Whether it was a sunny morning or a rainy afternoon, she stuck to her training. There were times when she felt tired and wanted to take a break, but she always reminded herself of her dream to stand on the highest podium (领奖台).
