Have you ever dreamed of floating in space? For people in China, that dream is
coming true. From film stars to scientists, more than 20 famous people in China have
booked seats on the country's first commercial spaceflight.
The tickets are sold by a Beijing-based space startup. Each seat costs 3 million yuan. That
sounds like a lot,but it is much cheaper than a trip with Elon Musk's SpaceX,which can cost up to
$50 million.To save a seat,passengers must pay a 10%deposit.
The company plans to send its first passengers into space in 2028.The spacecraft, called the
CYZ1(Chuan YueZhe-1),can carry six people. After the launch(),it will separate from the
rocket at about 70 kilometres above the ground. Then it will cross the Karman Line, the widely
accepted edge of space. After that,it will return safely to Earth with parachutes().
In a video released by the company, one passenger said,"The world always needs a few people
who are a little crazy."
China is supporting commercial space travel more than ever.In 2025,the China National
Space Administration announced a plan to give companies more access to rocket test facilities.
Aerospace is also listed as a key industry in China's latest Five-Year Plan.
Other Chinese companies are also joining the race. One company even sold two tickets during
a livestream.Each ticket required a 50,000-yuan deposit.Space travel may soon become possible
for more people in China. Are you brave enough to join them on a trip to the stars?
1.What can we learn about the first commercial spaceflight in China?
A.It will carry over twenty famous film stars into space.
B.It requires passengers to pay half of the price beforehand.
C.It will be operated by Elon Musk's company SpaceX.
D.Its first passengers are expected to be sent into space by 2028.
2.What does the underlined word "deposit"in the passage mean?
A.小费
B.定金
C.折扣
D.租金
3.What is the main idea of the passage?
A.Space travel is becoming more expensive around the world.
B.Chinese companies are competing with SpaceX in space travel.

长难句解读
原句:That sounds like a lot,but it is much cheaper than
a trip with Elon Musk's SpaceX,which can cost up to
50 million.
结构剖析:这是一个并列复合句,由but连接两个分句;
which can cost up to$50 million是非限制性定语从句,
which指代前面的a trip with Elon Musk's SpaceX,用来
补充说明该旅行的票价。
翻译:这听起来价格不菲,但它比埃隆·马斯克的
SpaceX公司的太空旅行便宜得多,后者费用高达5000
万美元。
