“Grabbing deals”—using coupons, discounts, and subsidies (补贴) to get low-cost meals — has become a common trend. With giants (巨头) like Meituan, Ele.me, and JD.Food investing billions of yuan in subsidies, can this trend turn into a “blue ocean”? Several factors support this possibility. First, subsidies have proven effective. Meituan once recorded over 100 million daily orders, while Ele.me hit 80 million. Even third-tier cities like Zibo saw a 300% growth in orders. Industry experts estimate (估计) that 50 billion yuan in subsidies could drive over 100 billion yuan in new consumption, showing strong market potential (潜力). However, there are risks that can’t be ignored. Over-reliance on low prices may make users less loyal once subsidies are cut. For platforms, long-term heavy subsidies are unsustainable because they hurt their ability to make profits. Moreover, small businesses may be squeezed by the pressure to lower prices, which threatens their survival. To truly build a blue ocean, the key is balance. Platforms need to turn to technology like AI to improve efficiency instead of only depending on subsidies. Businesses must keep their food quality high, and users should value more than just low prices. Only then can the market grow in a healthy and sustainable way. 1.What is “grabbing deals” according to the passage? A.Using offers to get low-cost meals. B.Delivering food for free. C.Opening a delivery platform. D.Selling food at high prices. 2.Why do third-tier cities show strong potential? A.They have no delivery platforms. B.Their orders grew 300%. C.People there don’t like online food. D.Subsidies are not offered there. 3.The underlined word “they” in Paragraph 3 refers to (指代) “________”? A.long-term heavy subsidies B.strong market potential C.growth in orders D.high food quality 4.What is the writer’s suggestion for building a blue ocean? A.Use technology and balance quality. B.Focus only on low prices. C.Increase subsidies forever. D.Ignore small businesses 5.How does the writer feel about the businesses’ low-price policy? A.Hopeful B.Positive C.Worried D.Favorable Passage 2 (25-26九年级上·吉林长春·期中) ①In today’s world, we are more connected than ever before. With social media (社交媒体), we can talk to friends from different countries at any time. However, a question appears: are these online connections making us feel truly close to others? ②Some people believe that online communication is a great tool. It helps us keep in touch with old friends and family members who live far away. We can share our lives through photos and short videos. It is quick and convenient. ③But others worry about this. They think that online communication is making us lonelier. When we always talk through screens, we lose the importance of face-to-face conversations. We may have hundreds of friends online, but how many of them can we really talk to when we have problems? ④Studies show something similar. They find that people who use social media too much may not be happier. In fact, when they often look at others’ perfect online lives, they can feel envy (忌妒) and loneliness. We all want to be understood and cared for. But the Internet always gives us too much information, and it stops us from getting the real attention we need. ⑤Real friendship needs more than just “likes” and comments online. It needs time, shared experiences, and real conversations. An emoji (表情符号) can show you are happy, but a real smile can make others feel your joy. A text message can say “I’m here for you,” but a warm hug can truly make you feel supported. So in my opinion, we should not forget to spend real time with our friends and family. 1.Why do some people worry about online communication? A.They think it makes us lose the chance to talk face to face. B.They believe it makes us live far away from our old friends. C.They find it hard to make true friends online quickly. D.They can’t find friends to talk to when they have problems. 2.What does the word “It” in Paragraph 5 refer to? A.A problem. B.An emoji. C.Real friendship. D.A smile. 3.How does the writer support (支撑) his idea in the last paragraph? A.By telling a personal story. B.By giving examples. C.By listing numbers and facts. D.By asking the readers many questions. 4.What can we infer (推断) from the passage? A.The writer thinks online connections make us feel truly close to others. B.The writer suggests we should spend real time with our friends and family. C.The writer enjoys talking to friends from different countries with social media. D.The writer always talks through screens with his friends and family members. 5.Which is the right structure (结构) of the passage? (①= Paragraph 1, ②= Paragraph 2…) A. B. C. D. Passage 3 (25-26九年级上·福建泉州·期末) A mobile phone is used by almost everyone today. However, many people cannot get rid of mobile phones because phones have become part of daily life. As the addiction (瘾) to the smartphone has become a serious problem, it causes many problems in life. Most phone users look down at their phones for a long time. When hunching or bending their necks (弓背或弯曲脖子), they put serious pressure on the neck and backbone. And this will cause a sore back or a neck ache. According to studies, as high as 45% of the young people from age 16 to 24 these days suffer from back pain because of the heavy usage of smartphones. Also, trying to focus on and look at the screen of the phone for a long time will discomfort your eyes and may cause loss of vision. Besides, if someone takes phones to bed with him or her, he or she will spend more time on the phone than sleeping. It’s true that phones make life more convenient, but that doesn’t mean they can take control of life. To get rid of phones, you can create a phone-free time. For example, turn off your phone or disconnect it from the Internet after 8:00 p.m. At that time, you can spend time on anything but your phone so that you won’t check your phone. Just like smoking, phone addiction is a habit. You must replace the habit with another if you want to change it. So find a few things to do whenever you are not using your phone, such as reading a book or exercising. Of course, it’s not easy to get rid of a habit and the beginning is the most challenging. That’s why we are expected to have strong willpower. Remember, do not let your phone become your ▲ and you become its servant. 1.Which one can show the number of the young people aged 16-24 who have a sore back? A. B. C. D. 2.How does the writer explain the ways to get rid of phone addiction in Paragraph 3? A.By giving an example. B.By telling a story. C.By comparing two facts. D.By listing some numbers. 3.Which word can be the most suitable in the blank “ ▲ ” in Paragraph 4? A.Master. B.Teacher. C.Boss. D.Waiter. 4.Which is the RIGHT order according to the passage? ① The importance of a strong mind. ② The cause of cell phone addiction. ③ The ways to get rid of phone addiction. ④ The problems caused by cell phone addiction. A.①-②-④-③ B.④-③-①-② C.②-④-③-① D.③-④-②-① 5.What’s the purpose of the passage? A.The writer wants to tell students not to use cell phones. B.The writer wants to tell us the bad effects caused by phones. C.The writer wants to tell us the importance of smartphones. D.The writer wants to tell the phone-users not to be addicted to phones. 主题02 人与社会——科技文化 Passage 1 (25-26九年级上·广东深圳·期中) Over the past 100 years, an important idea has become popular in education. Before, people thought intelligence was inborn. But now, we know that intelligence can change with the right training. In the 19th century, psychologist Alfred Binet, who made the first intelligence tests, believed intelligence was fixed and tried to measure it. However, in the early 20th century, thinkers like John Dewey said every child’s intelligence could grow with a good environment. Dweck’s famous experiment divided 10 to 12-year-olds into two groups. One group was praised for being smart, while the other for working hard. The “effort-praised” group tried harder on later tasks, while the “smart-praised” group avoided challenges to protect their self-image. This showed that praising effort, not talent, helps students improve. However, schools often have difficulty in using growth mindset (思维模式) ideas effectively. Many focus too much on test scores and rankings, which actually encourage a “fixed mindset.”. Some schools even create contradictions (矛盾) by talking about growth mindset while giving fixed grades based on performance. Critics point out problems with growth mindset research. Studies trying to repeat Dweck’s experiments often fail. Psychologist Timothy Bates found that students with growth mindsets didn’t get better grades. Statistician (统计学家) Andrew Gelman questioned whether the research truly proved the theory. Recent studies show growth mindset programs rarely improve grades. Posters and motivational speeches often fail. Instead, teaching practical skills (like writing essay introductions) and praising effort works better. True confidence comes from real achievements, not empty praise. Perhaps growth mindset works better as a teaching philosophy than a classroom tool. 1.What did Alfred Binet believe about intelligence? A.Intelligence was based on a person’s effort. B.Intelligence was something fixed and could be measured. C.Intelligence could be developed with the right environment. D.Every child’s intelligence was different and unchangeable. 2.In Carol Dweck’s experiment, what happened to the group praised for intelligence? A.They were more likely to work hard on future tasks. B.They took on more difficult tasks to prove their ability. C.They avoided tasks that might cause them to fail. D.They changed their mindset after the experiment. 3.How is Paragraph 3 developed? A.By stating a problem and explaining its causes. B.By comparing school’s past and present methods. C.By giving personal stories on fixed grades. D.By listing research steps to implement a growth mindset. 4.What might the author agree with? A.Motivational posters are the best way to teach. B.Fixed grades help students develop a growth mindset. C.Dweck’s experiments perfectly prove her theory. D.Teaching real skills is better than empty praise. 5.Which is the best title for the article? A.The History of Intelligence Tests B.Why Fixed Mindset Fails in Schools C.Growth Mindset: Hopes and Realities D.How to Praise Students Correctly Passage 2 (25-26九年级上·山西晋城·期中) 请阅读下面语篇,从每小题所给的A、B、C三个选项中,选出一个最佳选项。 The film The Litchi Road was a big hit this summer. So was the famous line from Du Mu, a poet of the late Tang Dynasty: “A steed raising red dust won the fair mistress’ smiles (一骑红尘妃子笑).” The pronunciation of “qí (骑)” has changed, and it started a discussion. The character used to be pronounced as “jì”. It is hard for many people, including me, to accept the change. However, there are good reasons to welcome the change. I believe language is not something fixed. It is a tool for communication that grows with society. The purpose of language is to help people understand each other better. In the past, the character was pronounced as “jì” because it was used as a noun with the meaning of one person and one horse. If it is pronounced as “qí”, it is used as a verb and means riding a horse. This difference made expressions clearer. Over time, however, people found it hard to separate the two. Experts then changed the pronunciation. When most people say it one way, keeping the old way causes problems for communication. It is better to follow public habits and make language easier to use. Qí is not the only example. As we know, the words “shuo fu” (说服) used to be read as “shui fu”. These changes are not a loss of tradition but a way to keep language moving with daily life. After all, we use language to understand culture and share our feelings—not to trap (困住) ourselves in pronunciation rules. 1.What was the pronunciation of the character “骑” in the past? A.Qí. B.Jī. C.Jì. 2.How did the writer feel about language in Paragraph 3? A.It should be a helpful tool in society. B.It should include more pronunciation. C.It needs to be fixed by language experts. 3.Why was the pronunciation of “骑” changed according to the passage? A.To make the character easier to read. B.To follow ancient pronunciation rules. C.To make it easier for people to communicate. 4.Which of the following may the writer agree with? A.Old pronunciation rules should be changed. B.Language should serve communication needs. C.People should get used to different pronunciations. 5.What is the best title for the passage? A.Importance of Language Changes. B.New Rules of Chinese Pronunciation. C.Discussions about the movie The Litchi Road. Passage 3 (25-26九年级上·河南驻马店·期中) Do you think native English speakers are best at speaking the English language? Some experts (专家) believe that when it comes to successfully communicating in English, non-native speakers are actually easier to understand. “Often you have a room full of people from different countries communicating in English and all understand each other. And when suddenly the American or British person walks into the room and nobody can understand them,” Chia Susan Chong, an English culture expert, told the BBC. Chong said this happens because non-native speakers communicate more carefully. “English speakers, on the other hand, often talk too fast, use slang (说俚语) and mention their countries that others may not understand.” Chong said. As an Australian living in China, this is something that I keep in mind when talking to my Chinese colleagues. I’m careful to speak slowly and use words. I know they will understand. But sometimes, we confuse (使困惑) each other. Once, I told my colleague, which is slang for “no problem”. However, she thought I was calling her a drama queen (大惊小怪的人) and got upset. But don’t worry. Experts say that it’s the native speakers’ fault (错误) if they can’t understand you, not yours. “English speakers with no other language never have the awareness (意识) to speak English internationally,” English language teacher Dale Coulter told the BBC. The best way to avoid any trouble might be to ask for some patience. If you find it difficult to understand an English speaker, don’t be afraid to ask them to slow down and speak clearly. 1.How does the writer start this passage? A.By asking a question. B.By listing a number. C.By giving a reason. D.By showing an example. 2.What does Paragraph 2 mainly talk about? A.How people from different countries prepare for English communication in a room. B.An expert describes a phenomenon (现象): non-native English speakers can understand each other but find it hard to understand native speakers. C.Why American and British people like to use fast speech and slang in daily talks D.The differences between the English used by native speakers and non-native speakers. 3.Which of the following can take the place of “communicate” in Paragraph 3? A.Travel. B.Study. C.Talk. D.Work. 4.Tom can’t understand a native English speaker. How could he solve his problem according to the text? A.By avoiding communicating with native speakers. B.By asking the native speaker to slow down and speak clearly. C.By learning more English slang quickly. D.By pretending to understand and nodding. 5.What can we infer from the passage? A.Native speakers communicate more carefully. B.If you can’t understand native speakers, it’s your fault. C.Sometimes slang isn’t proper for international communication. D.Dale Coulter has no idea of how to speak English internationally. 主题01 人与社会——社会现象 Passage 1 (25-26九年级上·福建泉州·期中) Do you know the Himalayas (喜马拉雅山)? Do you know a firework show that took place in the Himalayas? A famous outdoor brand (品牌商) and a well-known artist held a firework show in the Himalayas on September 19th, 2025. They wanted to mix art with nature. The firework show was in a high area of the Himalayas. The brand said the event was to celebrate nature’s beauty with art. However, many people worried that setting off fireworks in this area might harm the local environment. Some environmental experts (专家) said there were many special wild animals and plants in the Himalayas. The loud sound and bright light of the fireworks could affect these animals and plants. What’s more, the rest parts of the fireworks might make soil and water dirty. As we know, soil and water are very important for the environment. The brand said they did things to reduce environmental impact. For example, they used materials (材料) that could break down naturally and cleaned up after the event. But the public still didn’t believe them. Some people thought no firework show should be held in such an area. Local officials have also started to check the event. They say it’s important to balance (平衡) art activities and environmental protection. This is especially true for the areas like the Himalayas. This event has started a bigger discussion. People are talking about the duty of artists and brands to protect nature when they try to express art. It tells us art is valuable, but we shouldn’t hurt the environment for art. 1.How does the writer start the text? A.By asking questions. B.By listing numbers. C.By giving an example. D.By telling a story. 2.What is the main purpose of the firework show? A.To improve the brand’s new product. B.To mix art with the beauty of nature. C.To show the artist’s latest painting. D.To pay attention to environmental protection. 3.Paragraph 3 is mainly about ________. A.the importance of the event B.the value of the event C.the harmful effect of the event D.the good effect of the event 4.What does the underlined word “impact” in Paragraph 4 refer to? A.Effect. B.Reason. C.Policy. D.Development. 5.What may the writer write next? A.Where can we hold the firework show? B.How can we protect the Himalayas? C.What should we do to prevent the event like this? D.How can we mix the art with the environment properly? Passage 2 (25-26九年级上·广西来宾·期中) If you go shopping in any toy store, you can see clearly the different toys for boys and girls: there are a lot of pink toys on one side of the store for girls and dark coloured cars and guns for boys. Some stores with toys may even have a pink floor for girls and a blue floor for boys. In fact, it is difficult to buy a toy for a girl that is not pink. Some people think that too much pink is bad for girls. Sue Palmer, writer of Toxic Childhood, is very worried that most girls over the age of three are crazy about the colour. According to some scientists (科学家), this happens for two reasons. Firstly, most companies offer too many products (产品) in pink. Also, many parents think their little daughter looks cute in pink. Some parents are worried too. For example, Vanessa Holburn has two girls under the age of four. Their bedrooms are a sea of pink and Vanessa is not happy. “Pink says that you are soft and gentle. Blue says that you are strong and powerful. I want my daughters to be strong and powerful. I’m worried that pink will not help them with that,” she says. But not everyone thinks there’s something wrong with pink, Grayson Turner is a father of three girls and he isn’t worried at all, “People forget that things change all the time,” he says. “My girls used to love pink when they were little but as they get older, they change.” Turner explains that his twelve-year-old daughter never wears pink clothes anymore. “This love of pink is just a fashion and all fashions change,” he adds. “It’s only since the 1940s that people have started dressing girls in pink — before that it was a colour for boys.” 1.How is it for a girl to buy a toy that is not pink? A.Easy. B.Difficult. C.Comfortable. 2.What is Sue Palmer’s worry? A.Most girls over the age of three are crazy about the colour of pink. B.Most boys over the age of three are crazy about the colour of blue. C.All of the girls under the age of three are crazy about the colour of pink. 3.What does “that” in Paragraph 3 refer to (指的是)? A.Being soft and gentle. B.Being gentle but powerful. C.Being strong and powerful. 4.What can we know from Grayson Turner? A.All little kids love the colour pink. B.Parents needn’t worry about pink toys. C.Pink has always been a colour for girls. 5.What is the writer’s main purpose in writing this passage? A.To show people’s different opinions about the colour pink. B.To make parents less worried about the colour pink. C.To explain why girls are crazy about the colour pink. 主题02 人与社会——科技文化 Passage 1 (25-26九年级上·江苏泰州·期中) People question whether social media (媒体) is making modern society less empathetic (有同感的). Some studies show that heavy social media users are less empathetic, while others suggest quite the opposite. To learn more about the question, we asked over 1,250 American participants (参与者) how often they checked social media. They also completed questionnaires (问卷) where they decided whether they have the qualities that researchers call empathy, such as thinking from other people’s point of view, feeling worried for other people in trouble, and feeling bad when others feel bad. Our study found that the more social media people reported using, the lower their levels of empathy were. This finding didn’t change much according to the type of social media they use, their gender (性别), or education. However, we only asked American adults. Is it possible that the relationship we found would not be true elsewhere? Indeed, researchers in other areas have found different results. Researchers in the UK, Spain, and the Netherlands have shown that, in their countries, the higher people used social media, the higher empathy they had. An Indian study found no relationship between the two. To learn the big picture, we compared (比较) all these studies. We found that the relationship between social media use and empathy differed based on two things: age and nationality. In general, studies carried out in Europe found a positive (积极的) connection between social media use and empathy, while studies in the U.S. found no meaningful or negative (消极的) connection. Besides, research done with children under 18 showed a positive connection, while research with adults found no connection. Cultural differences may explain the difference. Americans are more likely to post news about their personal achievements online. It is no surprise that Americans who use social media often are not developing their empathy skills. But populations outside of America appear to use social media for different purposes, including strengthening friendships. For them, more social media use is connected with being more empathetic. Perhaps people’s purposes for using social media can tell us more about their character. 1.What is the main purpose of the research described in the passage? A.To prove that social media makes people less empathetic. B.To study the influence of social media on American adults. C.To compare the empathy levels of different nationalities. D.To discover the relationship between social media use and empathy. 2.Which of the following factors (因素) about the participants was important for the first study? A.Age. B.Gender. C.Interest. D.Income. 3.According to the passage, which of the following statements is true? A.All studies show that heavy social media users are less empathetic. B.The relationship between social media use and empathy is the same in all countries. C.Research showed a positive connection between social media use and empathy in the UK, Spain and the Netherlands. D.American adults using social media often are more likely to develop their empathy skills. 4.Which statement will the writer probably agree with? A.Indians like to show off online. B.Children are more empathetic than adults. C.Americans are more empathetic than Europeans. D.Reasons behind social media use show a person’s character. 5.Which of the following would be the best title for the passage? A.The Positive Influence of Social Media on Empathy. B.Why Americans Are Less Empathetic on Social Media. C.Social Media and Empathy: A Complex (复杂的) Relationship. D.How to Develop Empathy Skills through Social Media. Passage 2 (25-26九年级上·江西宜春·期中) An article titled “Chinese Characters Whose Pronunciations Have Changed” has caused heated discussions online. It’s said that some pronunciations, which were considered to have been misread before, are correct now. They even include the characters in some famous sentences from ancient poems. One example is by Du Mu from the Tang Dynasty “A slanting stony path leads far to the cold mountain; Where fleecy clouds are born, there appear cots and bowers”. About the changes, different people have different ideas. Many Internet users disagreed with the changes. They argued that changing pronunciations would change the rhyme(韵律)of the sentences in poems, destroying the beauty of Chinese literature. However, supporters of the change said, “This is how language improves, and the pronunciations should meet the needs of society. Instead of remaining in the past.” An officer from the Ministry of Education explained that most of the so-called(所谓的) “new” pronunciations have not yet been confirmed(确认). But according to the fifth and sixth editions(版本) of the Modern Chinese Dictionary, quite a few pinyin spellings have already been changed, such as “呆板(from ái to dāi)” and “确凿(from zuò to záo)”. So, Professor Zhang Yiwu from Peking University told China Daily that pronunciation changes are normal and necessary as language changes and they will not destroy traditional culture. 1.What can we learn from Paragraph 1? A.Many false pronunciations in Chinese. B.Some famous sentences in ancient poems. C.Some misread pronunciations are correct now. D.Chinese characters can change their meanings in the same contexts. 2.Which of the following is the proper meaning of the underlined poem in the passage? 3.Why do some people support the pronunciation changes? A.Because they want to make a new language. B.Because they think the old language should be replaced. C.Because they think the language should fit the needs of society. D.Because they can’t understand many ancient poems. 4.According to the last paragraph, what is Zhang Yiwu’s attitude to the changes? A.He supports the changes. B.He disagrees with the changes. C.He doesn’t give any clear opinions. D.He worries about the changes. 5.What’s the main idea of this passage? A.The history of Chinese pinyin. B.Poems and Chinese characters. C.The way to change Chinese pinyin. D.Changes in Chinese pinyin. Passage 1 (24-25九年级上·四川成都·期中) Some Canadian children are speaking with the British accent (口音) these days because of Peppa Pig, according to their parents. Peppa Pig has been watched by children around the world since it first appeared on TV in 2004. This popular kids’ cartoon mainly follows the life of Peppa and her family in the UK. And lots of young children have picked up Peppa’s way of speaking after watching it for a long time. People call the phenomenon (现象) the “Peppa effect (效应)”. Some parents shared the changes in their children’s way of speaking English on the Internet. Sebastien Vien said that he started to notice a difference in his three-year-old daughter Mackenzie’s everyday speech. “She started watching the show when she was about 18 months old, and as her speech became stronger, we noticed she was pronouncing the words ‘tomato’ and ‘there’ with the British accent,” he said. Some other children picked up not only the British accent, but also some British expressions. Adam Miller said his children called their backyard “garden”. Holly Besinger said, “My daughter once told us to ‘get all this rubbish off the table’! You know, in Canada, we use the word ‘garbage’ to refer to waste.” Leislie Anderson said the cartoon had improved her son’s speech more than any other show. “My two-year-old son now talks like an old British man. He often says, ‘It’s a lovely sunny day’, ‘Oh dear!’ It’s actually pretty cute,” she said. 1.What does the phenomenon discussed in the passage show us? A.Cultural differences. B.Cultural influence. C.Public amusement. 2.How does the writer make us know more about the “Peppa Effect”? A.By sharing personal experiences. B.By giving examples. C.By comparing numbers. 3.If Kim, from England, needs his workmate’s help with the waste, “______” may be a polite and local expression for him. A.Why didn’t you take out the rubbish? B.How about taking out the garbage for me? C.Could you please help take out the rubbish? 4.What’s Leslie Anderson’s attitude (态度) towards the change in her kid’s speech? A.Worried. B.Uncaring. C.Favorable (赞同的). 5.What can we infer from the passage? A.Canadian English and British English are completely different in pronunciation. B.British accent is getting popular among some Canadian kids these days. C.Peppa Pig is the most popular cartoon with Canadian kids. Passage 2 (24-25九年级上·江苏泰州·期中) ①Free time is rare in modern life. Just look around you. Aren’t the adults all busy with something? But why is that? ②Imagine yourself as a busy office worker. Now, you have a set of technology (技术). It could make every part of your job easier. What would you do with all that extra time? Well, you would probably work the same amount (数量) of time as before, or even more. You doubt about this, don’t you? But in fact, something similar happened in the U.S. in the 20th century — not in factories or offices, but in homes. ③American homes in the early 1900s weren’t much different from those in the 1500s. There was no electricity (电). Most families had no water pipes. Family members had to carry every drop of water in and out of the house. ④Over the following years, many new appliances (家用电器) were made to save people’s time. Modern toilets, fridges and washing machines made their way into more and more homes. However, none of them saved hours of work. In the 1920s, full-time housewives spent 51 hours a week doing housework. In the 1960s, they were working 53 hours. ⑤This may seem surprising, but the reasons are simple. Better technology leads to higher expectations (预期), and higher expectations create more work. For example, before modern technology, most people washed their clothes only twice a year. Bad smell was unavoidable. Washing machines changed that. People began washing their clothes more often. And because it was easier to wash the clothes, people bought more shirts and dresses. As a result, housewives found themselves washing and drying more clothes. ⑥Technology has cut down the time it takes to cook a meal or wash a shirt. But it has also saved time for other housework, especially childcare. Since the 1980s, American parents have nearly doubled the amount of time they spend raising, teaching and driving their kids around town. ⑦Most of us can make our lives easier with modern technology. But instead of enjoying more rest time, we often find ourselves working more towards a better life. Without big changes in society’s expectations, people will take on more work and never feel like enough. 1.To support his ideas, the writer mostly discussed American ________ in the 20th century. A.factory life B.office life C.school life D.home life 2.The underlined word “that” in Paragraph 5 refers to (指) “________”. A.people seldom washing their clothes B.people buying more shirts and dresses C.people spending much time washing clothes D.housewives washing all of the family’s clothes 3.How has the time American parents spend on childcare changed since the 1980s? A.It has dropped. B.It has nearly doubled. C.It has slightly risen. D.It has stayed about the same. 4.Which of the following shows the structure of this passage? Then, is it a celebrity’s job to be a good role model? Please read the following students’ debate. Pros (正方)● It’s a celebrity’s job to be a good role model because people usually look up to stars. If a celebrity drinks and smokes, his fans will follow him because they look up to the celebrity so much. If a celebrity’s lifestyle is inappropriate for kids, then their parents should be more careful about what they let their kids see. ● I think everyone should try to be a good role model, even if you are not a celebrity! You can still be a role model to your sisters and brothers, a younger neighbor, or any one. But I think celebrities should be very good, because they are role models for many people! Cons (反方)● A celebrity doesn’t have to try to be a good role model. They are famous because they work hard at what they love for a living. They should, however, try to make good choices for themselves, not their fans. Lots of stars have to post apology letters after being caught doing bad things. In fact, we are maybe 16 or 17 years old. In their eyes, we are always little ones and always do wrong things. For example, when I need to stay at home alone, they always worry about me and my life without them. Most parents always think that they have offered the best things to make their children live in a comfortable world. They buy their children pretty clothes, cool shoes, strange but expensive school things, and always a thousand-yuan-cost bike. They think that they have done everything they can do for their dear little children. In return, they only want their little ones to give them good grades in the exams. Although parents have done what they could, their little babies still can’t understand them. Why? Do they still want more material (物质的) things? No! They just want a true family. What does a true family mean? I think in a true family, we can hide ourselves from the outside cold world. From here, we can get warmth, and we can get happiness. So I think that parents should save their money and sit down to talk with their children. And the child and his parents could understand each other better. Then, no boy will be a little boy any longer. That will be great help to both the parents and their child. 1.We can see the writer of this article is ________ through the first paragraph. A.Hopeful B.Positive C.Worried D.Favorable 【答案】 根据第一段第二句“‘Grabbing deals’—using coupons, discounts, and subsidies to get low-cost meals — has become a common trend.” 2.根据第二段第四句“Even third-tier cities like Zibo saw a 300% growth in orders.” 3.根据第三段第三句“For platforms, long-term heavy subsidies are unsustainable because they hurt their ability to make profits.”,代词通常指代前文出现的相关名词,结合句意“长期高额补贴不可持续,因为它们会损害平台的盈利能力”,可知they指代前文的长期高额补贴。 4.根据第四段第一至三句“To truly build a blue ocean, the key is balance. Platforms need to turn to technology…keep their food quality high…” Passage 2 (25-26九年级上·吉林长春·期中) ①In today’s world, we are more connected than ever before. (①= Paragraph 1, ②= Paragraph 2…) 根据第3段“When we always talk through screens, we lose the importance of face-to-face conversations.” 2.根据第5段“Real friendship needs more than just ‘likes’ and comments online. It needs time, shared experiences, and real conversations.” 3.根据最后一段“An emoji (表情符号) can show you are happy, but a real smile can make others feel your joy. A text message can say ‘I’m here for you,’ but a warm hug can truly make you feel supported.” 4.根据最后一段“So in my opinion, we should not forget to spend real time with our friends and family.” Passage 3 (25-26九年级上·福建泉州·期末) A mobile phone is used by almost everyone today. 第二段明确指出:“According to studies, as high as 45% of the young people from age 16 to 24 these days suffer from back pain because of the heavy usage of smartphones”,说明16至24岁腰酸背痛年轻人的占比是45%。 2.第三段指出:“To get rid of phones, you can create a phone-free time. For example, turn off your phone or disconnect it from the Internet after 8:00 p.m.”,表明作者使用举例子的方式说明戒手机的方法。 3.最后一段指出:“Remember, do not let your phone become your ▲ and you become its servant”,servant表示“仆人”,前后形成对比,手机不能是你的主人,你不能做它的仆人。故选A。 4.第一段指出:“many people cannot get rid of mobile phones because phones have become part of daily life”,点明人们离不开手机的原因;第二段指出:“As the addiction to the smartphone has become a serious problem, it causes many problems in life”,介绍沉迷手机带来各类健康危害;第三段指出:“To get rid of phones, you can create a phone-free time”,讲解戒除手机瘾的办法;第四段指出:“it’s not easy to get rid of a habit and the beginning is the most challenging. That’s why we are expected to have strong willpower”,说明意志力的重要性。 5.文中指出;“As the addiction to the smartphone has become a serious problem, it causes many problems in life”,“It’s true that phones make life more convenient, but that doesn’t mean they can take control of life”,“To get rid of phones, you can create a phone-free time”,先讲手机成瘾的危害,再给出戒除成瘾的方法,核心目的是提醒手机使用者不要沉迷手机。 主题02 人与社会——科技文化 Passage 1 (25-26九年级上·广东深圳·期中) Over the past 100 years, an important idea has become popular in education. A.The History of Intelligence Tests B.Why Fixed Mindset Fails in Schools C.Growth Mindset: Hopes and Realities D.How to Praise Students Correctly 【答案】1.B 2.C 3.A 4.D 5.C 【导语】本文介绍了成长型思维理念的发展、Dweck的实验、学校应用中的问题以及专家对该理论的质疑。 第一段“...psychologist Alfred Binet, who made the first intelligence tests, believed intelligence was fixed and tried to measure it.” 2.第二段“...the ‘smart-praised’ group avoided challenges to protect their self-image.” 3.第三段首句“However, schools often have difficulty in using growth mindset ideas effectively.” 4.最后一段“Instead, teaching practical skills...and praising effort works better. True confidence comes from real achievements, not empty praise.” The film The Litchi Road was a big hit this summer. 根据第二段中的“The character used to be pronounced as ‘jì’.”以及第四段中的“In the past, the character was pronounced as ‘jì’…” 2.根据第三段中的“It is a tool for communication that grows with society. The purpose of language is to help people understand each other better.” 3.根据第四段中的“…keeping the old way causes problems for communication. It is better to follow public habits and make language easier to use.” 4.根据第三段中的“The purpose of language is to help people understand each other better.”以及第五段中的“After all, we use language to understand culture and share our feelings—not to trap ourselves in pronunciation rules.” 5.根据第三段中的“I believe language is not something fixed. It is a tool for communication that grows with society.” Passage 3 (25-26九年级上·河南驻马店·期中) Do you think native English speakers are best at speaking the English language? 根据第一段“Do you think native English speakers are best at speaking the English language?” 3.根据“non-native speakers communicate more carefully”以及下文提到的“talk too fast”可知,这里的"communicate"指的是口头交流。 4.根据最后一段“The best way to avoid any trouble might be to ask for some patience. If you find it difficult to understand an English speaker, don’t be afraid to ask them to slow down and speak clearly.” 主题01 人与社会——社会现象 Passage 1 (25-26九年级上·福建泉州·期中) Do you know the Himalayas (喜马拉雅山)? Do you know a firework show...” 2.根据第一段“They wanted to mix art with nature.”和第二段“The brand said the event was to celebrate nature’s beauty with art.” 3.根据第三段“could affect these animals and plants... might make soil and water dirty”可知,本段主要讲述这场烟花秀带来的有害影响。 4. 5.根据文章最后一句“It tells us art is valuable, but we shouldn’t hurt the environment for art.” Passage 2 (25-26九年级上·广西来宾·期中) If you go shopping in any toy store, you can see clearly the different toys for boys and girls: there are a lot of pink toys on one side of the store for girls and dark coloured cars and guns for boys. 根据第一段“In fact, it is difficult to buy a toy for a girl that is not pink.” 2.根据第二段“Sue Palmer... is very worried that most girls over the age of three are crazy about the colour.” 3.根据第三段中“‘…I want my daughters to be strong and powerful. I’m worried that pink will not help them with that,’ she says.” 因此,“that”指代的是前一句提到的“Being strong and powerful”。 4.根据最后一段“But not everyone thinks there’s something wrong with pink, Grayson Turner is a father of three girls and he isn’t worried at all...”以及他随后的解释“This love of pink is just a fashion...” 主题02 人与社会——科技文化 Passage 1 (25-26九年级上·江苏泰州·期中) People question whether social media (媒体) is making modern society less empathetic (有同感的). 根据原文第一段与第二段开头“People question whether social media is making modern society less empathetic…To learn more about the question”,这项研究旨在探究社交媒体使用和共情能力之间的关系。 2.根据原文第三段“This finding didn’t change much according to the type of social media they use, their gender, or education”,性别、受教育程度都不影响本次美国成人研究的结论,文中未提及兴趣、收入,因此性别是本次研究关注的参与者相关因素。 3.根据原文第四段“Researchers in the UK, Spain, and the Netherlands have shown that, in their countries, the higher people used social media, the higher empathy they had”,英国、西班牙、荷兰的研究显示二者呈正向关联,表述正确。 4.根据原文最后一句“Perhaps people’s purposes for using social media can tell us more about their character”,作者认同人们使用社交媒体的动机能反映自身性格。 5. 根据第一段“It’s said that some pronunciations, which were considered to have been misread before, are correct now.” 2.根据第一段“One example is now by Du Mu from the Tang Dynasty ‘A slanting stony path leads far to the cold mountain; Where fleecy clouds are born, there appear cots and bowers’.” 3.根据第二段“supporters of the change said, ‘This is how language improves, and the pronunciations should meet the needs of society.’” 4.根据第三段“Professor Zhang Yiwu from Peking University told China Daily that pronunciation changes are normal and necessary as language changes”可知,张颐武教授认为读音改动是正常且必要的,能够看出他支持读音调整。 5. 根据“Peppa Pig has been watched by children around the world since it first appeared on TV in 2004...And lots of young children have picked up Peppa’s way of speaking after watching it for a long time. People call the phenomenon (现象) the ‘Peppa effect (效应)’”可知,因为观看英国的动画片《小猪佩奇》,加拿大的孩子在说话方式上受到了影响,出现了带有英式口音、使用英式表达等情况,这体现的应是一种文化对另一种文化产生的影响。故选B。 2. 根据“Some parents shared the changes in their children’s way of speaking English on the Internet. Sebastien Vien said...” 根据“My daughter once told us to ‘get all this rubbish off the table’! You know, in Canada, we use the word ‘garbage’ to refer to waste”可知,在加拿大常用garbage表示“垃圾”,而在英国常用rubbish“垃圾”,Kim来自英国,按照英式表达习惯,礼貌且符合当地说法的应该是Could you please help take out the rubbish?“你能帮忙把垃圾拿出去吗?”。故选C。 4. 根据“Leislie Anderson said the cartoon had improved her son’s speech more than any other show.” 根据“Some Canadian children are speaking with the British accent (口音) these days because of Peppa Pig, according to their parents.”和“Peppa Pig has been watched by children around the world since it first appeared on TV in 2004...And lots of young children have picked up Peppa’s way of speaking after watching it for a long time. People call the phenomenon (现象) the ‘Peppa effect (效应)’”可推测出,英国口音最近在一些加拿大孩子中越来越流行了。故选B。 Passage 2 (24-25九年级上·江苏泰州·期中) ①Free time is rare in modern life. A.①/②/③④⑤⑥/⑦ B.①/②③④⑤/⑥/⑦ C.①②③④/⑤⑥/⑦ D.①②③/④⑤⑥/⑦ 5.What’s the best title of this article? A.More technology, less work! B.More technology, less work? C.The technology behind less work D.The technology behind more work 【答案】 根据“But in fact, something similar happened in the U.S. in the 20th century — not in factories or offices, but in homes.” 根据“For example, before modern technology, most people washed their clothes only twice a year. Bad smell was unavoidable. Washing machines changed that.” 故选A。 3. 根据“Since the 1980s, American parents have nearly doubled the amount of time they spend raising, teaching and driving their kids around town.” 故选A。 5. Passage 3 (23-24九年级上·内蒙古呼和浩特·期中) In students’ daily talks, celebrities (名人) are usually a hot topic, including their dress, behavior, families and other personal things. It’s good, but if the only reason they do is to win back their fans, it’s not good. ● Although it is a wonderful thing to be a good role model, that’s not what the celebrities must do.
