There are many fun, free activities that you can do as a family. All that is required is a bit of imagination and some time. And the best part is that these are the kind of fun and family memories that a kid will remember for a lifetime.
Family Game Night
Kids often get games for Christmas or birthdays, and would love to have a chance to play with their family or make up some games of their own. Charades (猜字谜游戏) is a fun game that will challenge kids to use their imagination. Divide the family into teams and let each team come up with words and the other has to act out.
Family Art Time
Pick some time for the family to sit down and come up with their own art. It doesnˈt need to be just a drawing—take some old magazines, let the kids cut out pictures and paste them into their own shape. Or let them use leaves, branches and whatever else they can find to make something from their imagination.
Family Picnic
Taking the family for a picnic is a great way for some fun that doesnˈt cost any money. If the weather is nice, take them to a park or playground and let them have a day of playing.
Family Field Trip
A family field trip doesnˈt have to cost a cent. Ask a nearby farm if you can bring your kids out for a tour and to see some of the animals. Or take them to a park to find certain items from nature. Ask a local business if you could bring the family for a tour to see how things work—you might be surprised at the number of people who would be excited to share what they do with others, and it could be an interesting lesson for kids.

Two years ago, Judy began to notice changes in her 13-year-old son Dave. Dave used to be a cheerful and happy kid, but he was beginning to get upset and often seemed sad. They used to be close and Dave would confide in Judy. But this was different. When she tried talking to him, she only got one-word responses. Judy knew something was wrong with Dave, but she didn't know how to help him.
When driving her son to school, Judy usually listened to a CD or the radio. One day, the radio was playing a song. It sounded angry, sad, and the words weren't kind. Judy wanted to change the station, but Dave asked her to leave that song on. He liked that song and wanted to listen to it. Although Judy didn't understand why, she did so.
When the song ended, Judy didn't scold (训斥) her son for liking this "terrible" music. Instead, she asked him, "What do you like about that song?"
Dave then opened up and told his mother some of his problems. They talked for a long time and together decided that they should make an appointment with a counselor (顾问).
Instead of telling Dave what he could and couldn't listen to, Judy used that song as a way to communicate with her son, as a way to understand him better. Then Judy was able to understand some of the difficult feelings her son was experiencing.

It is possible for a child to learn how to solve problems in a way that makes everybody happy. Often though, people deal with conflict(冲突) negatively, and try to convince(说服) others that their way is the best by force. Good conflict resolution skills don't seem to be used in most of the conflicts we see or hear about. The following steps are useful in helping children find peaceful ways of solving problems with others.
Begin by letting children know that it is possible to find a good solution. Parents could say something like, "I'm sure if we all think about this we might find a way of everyone getting what they want."
Help children recognize how they are feeling, and help them to express their feelings. Help children to work out what they really want by asking them what they would like to have happened. Help them work out what the possible need is.
Help your child to understand other people's points of view and to learn how to understand their ideas. Ask them what they think other people might be feeling, or how they might feel if they were in the same situation. You could get them to ask other people to say how they are feeling and what they would like to have happened.
Together, you could encourage children to think about different ways that they could solve the problem. Encourage them to come up with several different and interesting ways that they could go about it.
Help children choose what they think works best for everyone, and get them to put them into practice. Stay around to see how they get on, and help them improve the solution if needed.
32.In our daily life, people often solve conflicts ________.
A. in a friendly way B. by chance
C. in a hard way D. by law
33.Knowing others' real feelings can help children _______.
A. find other people's interest B. meet other people's possible needs
C. live in the same way as other people D. understand and accept other people's ideas
34.We can learn from the last two paragraphs that _______.
A. children should come up with different ways to solve problems
B. children should stay around to see parents solve problems
C. parents should think of different ways to solve problems
D. parents should decide the best way to solve problems
35.What's the author's purpose in writing this passage?
A. To argue the right way of solving problem. B. To describe how the conflict would happen.
C. To give tips on solving daily conflicts for kids. D. To convince parents to take good care of kids.

That night, I quarreled with my mother, then stormed out of the house. While on the road, I remembered that I did not have any money in my pocket. I did not even take my cell phone with me to make a call home.
At the same time, I went through a noodle shop, and I suddenly felt very hungry. I wished for a bowl of noodles, but I had no money!
The seller saw me standing before the counter and asked, "Hey, little girl, you want to eat a bowl? "
"But...but I do not carry money..." I shyly replied. "Okay, I'll treat you, " the seller said, "come in, and I will cook you a bowl."
A few minutes later the owner brought me a steaming bowl of noodles. After eating some pieces, I cried.
"What is it? " He asked.
"Nothing. I am just touched by your kindness! " I said as I wiped my tears. "Even a stranger on the street gives me a bowl of noodles, and my mother, after a quarrel, chased me out of the house. She is cruel! "
The seller sighed, "Girl, why did you think so? Think again. I only gave you a bowl of noodles and you felt that way. Your mother has been taking care of you since you were little. Why were you not grateful and why did you hurt your mom? "
I was really surprised after hearing that.
Why didn't I think of that? A bowl of noodles from a stranger made me feel grateful, and my mother has raised me since I was little and I have never felt so, not even a little.

Just at that moment, many memories came back into my mind. When I was ill, she was always the one taking care of me. When I had trouble with my study, she never lost faith in me and encouraged me to keep going. When I arrived home during the weekend, she always prepared my favorite food. All her kindness came back to me. I should be grateful for all she had done for me. I realized I should go back home immediately and say sorry to my mother.
When arriving home, I saw my mother sitting at the dinner table, worried and tired. She must have been looking for me everywhere. I was ready for her anger and shouts. However, before I could apologize, my mother saw me and gently said, "Oh honey, thank God you're back! Come inside. You are probably very hungry. I cooked your favorite noodles, come and eat while they are still hot..." No longer able to control myself, I cried in her arms. "I'm sorry, mom. Please forgive me." I whispered to her through tears, extremely ashamed of myself.
