难点　/ɔː/（长）与 /ɒ/（短）、/uː/（长）与 /ʊ/（短）两对长短元音的对立；in front of（在……前面，外部）与 in the front of（在……前部，内部）的区别；between… and… 与 across from 的准确使用；音节划分 VCV 规则（第一个元音长→辅音前划分；短→辅音后划分）。

（一）Step 1 情境导入：What is a school like?

BIG Question: What is a school like?（你的学校是什么样的？）

情境：Lucy and Peter are at No. 4 Junior Middle School. It's a middle school with modern buildings and a beautiful art centre.（露西和彼得在一所现代建筑与美丽艺术中心俱全的中学里）——Peter 带 Lucy 参观学校，我们一起去看看吧！

本课任务：看平面图说位置→听对话排场所→补全句子→画自己学校的地图→读准四个元音。

思路点拨：用一句话说说你的学校：My school is… There is/are…

（二）Step 2 1a 看平面图，用方位介词谈位置

1a Look at the picture. Talk about the positions of the places with words in the box.（课本 p.37）

方位介词盒：in front of（在……前面）　behind（在……后面）　next to（紧邻）　in the middle of（在……中间）　between（在……之间）　across from（在……对面）

示例：—Where's the dining hall?　—It's in front of the art building.（食堂在艺术楼前面。）

问答支架：—Where's/Where are…?　—It's/They're＋方位介词＋场所。

【1a 示例】—Where's the sports field?　—It's next to the classroom building.　—Where's the school hall?　—It's behind the teachers' building.

思路点拨：同桌用三个不同的介词各造一组问答，描述图中的场所。
