Tea is one of the most popular drinks in the world, with a history of thousands of years. The steps of making tea are strict and need careful attention to details.
First, tea leaves are picked from tea plants. Only the young and tender leaves and buds (蓓蕾) are chosen because they have the best taste. After picking, the leaves are spread out to wither. This step takes away extra water from the leaves, making them softer and easier to process next.
________. During this process, the leaves are rolled by hand or machine. Rolling breaks the cell walls of the leaves, letting out the natural oils and juices that give tea its special taste and smell.
After rolling, the leaves are fermented. Fermentation (n.发酵) changes the color and taste of the leaves. How long the fermentation, takes depends on the type of tea being made. For example, black tea needs full fermentation while green tea is hardly fermented at all.
Once fermentation is finished, the leaves are dried. Drying stops the fermentation process and keeps the tea’s taste. The dried leaves are then sorted and graded based on their quality. Finally, the tea leaves are packed and sent to markets all over the world for people to enjoy.
Making tea is not only a job but also an art that has been passed down from generation to generation. Each step in the process helps to make the final taste and quality of the tea.
21. Why are only young and tender leaves picked?
A. They are easier to pick. B. They have the best flavor.
C. They grow more quickly. D. They are more colorful.
22. What can we infer about green tea from the passage?

C. After that, the leaves are fermented. D. First, the leaves are sorted and graded.
24. Put the following steps in the correct order.
A. ②→④→①→③ B. ②→①→④→③ C. ①→②→④→③ D. ④→②→①→③
25. Where is this passage most likely taken from?
A. A science fiction novel. B. A cookery book. C. A cultural magazine. D. A sports newspaper.

Drones (无人机) are a kind of machine that can fly. They’re becoming more and more popular and are widely used in many areas. People use computers to control the flying machines. Drones can do many things for us, like carrying things, taking pictures, and following animals that are in danger. Some people say the special machine will change our life as much as the computer does.
In Brazil, farmers use drones to watch their crops (庄稼). Brazil has quite a few large farms. On these farms, people find it difficult to look after all the crops. Drones can help farmers to find out if the crops are ill. They also help farmers use fewer farm chemicals. This can help the environment and save much money.
Drones can also help to find lost people. If people, who are far from home, are lost, police can use drones to find them. A 92-year-old man in Virginia was lost and had to spend a night in the woods. Luckily, the drone found him in 20 minutes. He was finally saved by the police.

左栏是五位青少年的烦恼描述,右栏A — G是某成长栏目主编Alex对青少年的建议。请根据五个青少年的烦恼,为他们选择可用的建议。选项中有两项为多余项。
____31____ Chris: My mom always thinks I am poor at everything and that I can’t take care of myself. And she always thinks she is right and I’m wrong:
____32____ Julian: As a busy middle school student, I have seven subjects to learn now. I often fall into a feeling of stress. It’s hard for me to get out of it and manage my time.
____33____ Milly: I think it’s very important to study hard as students. So I always do my homework or read my books during break time. But my friends usually don’t let me do this.
____34____ Daniel: When my voice changed, my classmates said I sounded like a duck and it made me really sad. Now, I don’t feel like talking much, and I really want my old voice back.
____35____ Ben: Our school doesn’t allow us to use mobile phones in the school. Our teachers ask us to hand in our phones when we arrive at school. I don’t think they have the right to do this.
A. It’s not nice being laughed at. But try not to be upset about your voice breaking because it’s a natural change. You should be proud of the changes your body is going through instead of being embarrassed.
B. You are correct. The most important thing for you right now is to study hard. Don’t ever think that other people can make you do anything you don’t want to do. It’s up to you to decide how to spend your time.
C. In my opinion, phones just aren’t worth having in the classroom. When you are in class, focus on your studies. You will have time at home to use your phone however you feel fit. Listen to your school. They know what’s best in this situation.
D. Everybody overthinks sometimes. Try to develop a positive mental attitude. If you feel positive that you’re going to achieve, then more often than not you will be successful in what you’re doing; if not, then it’s just a lesson for next time.
E. It may be helpful to think from your mom’s side. Instead of believing you are poor at everything, she thinks that if she says you aren’t very good at things, you will work harder and do even better. You can share your feelings if you feel upset.
F. I would suggest better managing your time. You can draw a large table on an A3 piece of paper. Each row has seven boxes, one for each day of the week. Then fill every box with the subjects you will study and other activities you may do.
G. If you feel hard about schoolwork, you can ask your parents to hire a tutor (家教) to help you with difficult subjects. A good tutor can make learning easier and help you get better grades quickly.

Dear Tom,
I’m glad to hear that you’re interested in our school’s “Chinese Traditional Festival Culture Week” and I’d love to share details with you.
The activity aimed to help teenagers learn more about traditional Chinese culture and pass it on. There were wonderful events. We had a mooncake-making class where teachers taught us to mix fillings and shape dough, tasting our own creations was amazing. A lively lion dance performance also took place—dancers in colorful costumes brought joy to everyone. Additionally, a speech contest encouraged us to share stories behind festivals like the Spring Festival. This week deepened our love for traditional culture and made us proud of our heritage.
Looking forward to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
