四、阅读理解
In a small town in the south of China, there lived a girl named Chen Yue. At the age of nine, she saw a volleyball match on TV and fell in love with the sport. The next week her parents took her to a club, where she began to learn to play.
Chen Yue was not the strongest player in her team. At first she could not even serve the ball over the net. Some classmates laughed at her, and she wanted to give up. But her coach said, “A legend is not born; a legend is built day by day.”
From that day on, Chen Yue got up early and practised her serves for an hour before class. In winter her hands turned red with cold, but she never lost heart. Two years later, she became the captain of her school team.
In her first national championship, her team lost in the final. Chen Yue cried in the changing room, but soon she stood up and said, “We will come back stronger.” Instead of blaming others, she watched the videos again and again to find her own mistakes.
Four years later, Chen Yue and her team won the gold medal. But she says the medal is not the most important thing. “What I learned from failure is worth more than any prize,” she says. “Never lose heart, and always help your teammates.”

五、阅读七选五
Sports legends are admired not only for their medals but also for their spirit. They show us what a person can achieve with hard work and a strong will. 31 Here are some lessons we can learn from them.
First, legends never lose heart. Every great athlete has known failure. They lose important matches, they get injured, and they sometimes feel like giving up. 32 They stand up again and keep going, because they believe that failure is a teacher, not an end.
Second, legends put the team before themselves. In a team sport, one person cannot win a game alone. A real captain encourages teammates when they are down and celebrates their success. 33
Third, legends keep improving every day. They do not stop training just because they have won a medal. 34 They know that there is always something new to learn, and this is what keeps them at the top.
Finally, legends set an example for others. Many of them use their success to help young people, build schools or support sports in poor areas. 35 In this way, they become role models for people far beyond the sports world.
A.But they never let it stop them.
B.Good habits are more important than talent.
C.Their team always comes first in their hearts.
D.Their spirit teaches us far more than their scores.
E.They treat every training day as a new chance to get better.
F.So their influence goes far beyond the game itself.
G.Sports stars earn a lot of money and live a comfortable life.
