四、阅读理解
Travelling to a new country is an exciting dream for many teenagers. But a good trip does not start at the airport; it starts with careful planning at home. Before you book anything, you need to decide where to go, when to leave and how much money you can spend.
Lily, a Senior One student in Hangzhou, is planning a trip to Peru with her parents this summer. She got the idea from a travel brochure she found in the school library. The brochure says that Peru is a country with a long history, and that visitors can see old Inca cities high in the mountains.
During the past two weeks, Lily has made several arrangements. She has applied for a visa, booked three flights and rented a small flat in Cusco for a week. She has also packed her bags twice, because her mother said that she had put in too many clothes and too few warm ones.
Her father, who travels abroad for work several times a year, gives her some simple advice. “Never take more than one big bag,” he says. “Choose a hotel near the old town, so that you can walk everywhere. And always keep a copy of your passport in a different place.”
Lily says that planning is as interesting as travelling. “When I look at the map and read about the places we are going to visit, I feel that the trip has already begun,” she says. “Every evening I learn one new fact about Peru.”

五、阅读七选五
More and more Chinese students are travelling abroad with their families during the summer holidays. A trip to a foreign country sounds wonderful, but it also needs a lot of preparation. 31 Here are some useful tips for you.
First, get your papers ready in time. You cannot enter most countries without a passport and, in many cases, a visa. Applying for them takes weeks. 32
Second, plan your money carefully. Work out how much you can spend on flights, hotels and food before you book anything. 33 A credit card is useful, but you should also carry a little local cash.
Third, pack light. One big bag that you can carry by yourself is usually enough. 34 If you are going to a cold place, a warm coat will be more useful than three pairs of shoes.
Finally, learn a few words of the local language. You do not need to speak it well. 35 A simple “hello” or “thank you” often brings a smile, and a smile makes any trip easier.
A.Remember to check the dates on them.
B.So do not wait until the last minute.
C.Never spend more than you planned, or you may have to borrow money on the last day.
D.Good planning will make your trip much easier.
E.Put in only the clothes that you really need.
F.A few simple words can make people much friendlier.
G.Travelling with a guide is always safer.
