根据第一段第二句“They could hear the frogs (青蛙) singing in the lake behind the fence.”
根据第二段后文“All the animals lived a peaceful life here. Butterflies danced over the flowers happily and wild ducks swam freely.”
根据第二段后文“Butterflies danced over the flowers happily and wild ducks swam freely.”
根据第三段后文“As more people came to live here, they needed more houses and more roads. The whole lake was taken up to build them.”
根据第三段前文“The whole lake was taken up to build them.”
根据第四段前文“What happens to the frogs in winter?”及后文“They won’t wake up until spring comes back to the lake”可知,青蛙在冬天不会醒来,直到春天才会苏醒,说明它们在冬天睡觉。
根据第五段前文“Kenny decided to do something.”
根据第五段前文“Soon the lake was built but it was not safe for the frogs to go across the road.”
空前“Kenny asked his family to help the frogs cross the road”与空后“the family still needed more help”之间是转折关系,表示虽然家人帮忙了,但还是不够。
根据第六段后文“more and more people noticed their efforts and joined them”可知,有更多人加入帮助青蛙的行动,这是一件幸运的好事。
根据第六段前文“more and more people noticed their efforts and joined them”可知,加入帮助青蛙行动的是越来越多的人们。
根据文章最后一句“He knew that next summer the frogs would sing for them once more.” smiled at“对…… pointed at“指向”、shouted at“对……

Great Changes in My Hometown
My hometown has changed a lot over the years. In the past, the roads were narrow and dirty, and people lived in small old houses. Now, the roads are wide and clean, with many tall buildings on both sides. The environment has also improved greatly. There are many green trees and beautiful flowers everywhere.
What's more, the transportation has developed quickly. People can take buses or subways to go anywhere easily. The lifestyle of people has changed, too. They have more free time to enjoy hobbies and spend time with family.
I am proud of the great changes in my hometown. I hope it will become even better in the future.

Every day, she wrote down all her happy or painful experiences on small stones with her beak(喙).She believed every moment was worth keeping. Thinking good memories kept her smiling while bad ones should be written down and let go. Then she put the stones into a cloth bag and carried it wherever she flew.
At first, she enjoyed collecting these memory stones very much. But as days passed, the bag grew heavier and heavier, making the bird unable to fly as fast and high as before. She didn't notice the problem and just kept collecting more stones.
Weeks later, the bag was full and too heavy. When she tried to fly, her wings ached seriously and she had no energy left. The weight of the stones hurt her delicate(纤弱的)body badly.
