根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Every January, millions of people make the same promise: this year, I will change. They buy new shoes, download new apps and write long lists. 1________
The reason is simple. Most people try to change everything at once. They plan to run every morning, read a book a week and give up sugar—all in the same month. 2________ By February, they have given up completely, and they feel worse than before.
What works far better is almost boring. Choose one small thing. 3________ Then do it every day, at the same time, for a month. When it becomes easy, add a second thing.
This is how habits actually form. 4________ Each one is tiny, and together they change a life. A person who reads ten pages a day finishes twelve books a year—without ever feeling that they are trying.
So do not make a long list this year. 5________ 'Do not aim to be a different person,' one writer says. 'Aim to be the same person, one small step further along.'
A. Yet by the middle of February, most of them have failed.
B. It might be as simple as drinking a glass of water after breakfast.
C. The brain cannot hold three new habits at the same time.
D. They decided to give up all their habits instead.
E. Make a very short one, and start with the smallest thing you can imagine.
F. Most people find it easier to change everything at once.
G. Habits are built from thousands of small, repeated actions.
五、阅读理解
(一)
Two students in the same class failed the same exam. Both were upset. What happened next is the reason one of them is now a doctor and the other is not—though that is not the point of this story.
The first student, Wei, read the result, put the paper in a drawer and never looked at it again. He told himself the exam was unfair and the questions were badly written. Some of that was true. He felt better for a week.
The second student, Lan, did something much harder. She went through the whole paper, question by question, and wrote down why she had got each one wrong. She found that two thirds of her mistakes came from the same three habits: reading too fast, skipping the last sentence, and not checking her work.
That analysis took her four hours. It was boring and unpleasant. But the next exam was a different experience, because she was no longer fighting the same enemy. 'I did not become cleverer,' she says. 'I just stopped repeating the same mistake.'

(二)
For years, I believed that I could not concentrate because there was something wrong with me. I could not read for more than ten minutes without picking up my phone. I could not finish a film without checking messages twice.
Then I did an experiment that changed my mind. For one month, every time I started to reach for my phone, I wrote down what I had been doing at that moment. I expected to find that I was bored. Instead, I found something else: I reached for the phone whenever I was about to do something difficult.
I reached for it before writing a difficult sentence, before making a phone call, before opening a bill. The phone was not a habit. It was an escape. And once I understood that, I could deal with it. I began to say to myself, out loud, 'This is the hard part. Do the hard part.'
I am not a disciplined person now. I still reach for my phone, and I still have hard parts. But I have learned that the answer to distraction is not willpower. It is honesty about what you are avoiding.

9.What did he start saying to himself?
A. 'I should check my phone.'
B. 'This is the hard part. Do the hard part.'
C. 'I will never finish this.'
D. 'I need a new phone.'
10.What is the writer's main conclusion?
A. Willpower is the only solution to distraction.
B. Honesty about what you are avoiding helps more than willpower.
C. Phones should be banned for students.
D. Reading is more useful than watching films.
