21. Not only the twins but also their cousin _________ great imagination, so they often _________ new ideas for school activities.
A. have; come up B. have; come up with C. has; come up D. has; come up with
have有,动词原形;come up走近;come up with想出,提出;has有,动词三单形式。not only...but also... 根据“new ideas”可知,第二空用come up with。
22. —Do you have trouble _________ the balance between schoolwork and hobbies?
—Yes. I find _________ really hard for me to cut back on my painting time.
A. keeping; it B. to keep; that C. keeping; that D. to keep; it
【答案】A
第一空考查固定搭配have trouble (in) doing sth.,意为“做某事有困难”,介词in可以省略,后面要跟动名词形式,所以第一空用keeping;第二空考查固定结构find it +形容词+for sb. to do sth.,意为“发现做某事对某人来说是……的”,这里it是形式宾语,真正的宾语是后面的不定式短语,不能用that作形式宾语,所以第二空用it。应填keeping;it。
23. Linda regretted _________ back to her mother angrily yesterday. Now she wants to say sorry.
A. shout B. to shout C. shouting D. shouted

25. Bob’s father is not only strict ________ his work, but also strict ________ Bob.
A. in; with B. with; in C. in; on D. at; with
【答案】A
be strict in sth. 第一空后是his work,属于事物,故填in;第二空后是Bob,属于人,故填with。strict没有和on, at搭配的短语。应填in; with。
26. After several months of hard work, all his efforts finally _________. He won high praise from the manager.
A. got down B. paid off C. fell behind D. gave up
got down下来/吞下;paid off取得成功/得到回报;fell behind落后;gave up放弃。根据“After several months of hard work”和“He won high praise from the manager”可知,努力有了好的结果,pay off意为“取得成功/得到回报”,符合语境。故选B。

A. lose B. losing C. to lose D. lost

what I should do with my problem我应该如何处理我的问题;what should I do with my problem我应该如何处理我的问题;how should I deal with my problem我应该如何处理我的问题;how I do should deal with my problem错误结构。根据Could you tell me...?可知,此处考查宾语从句,宾语从句要用陈述语序,即疑问词+主语+谓语;A项what I should do with my problem符合语序和结构,B、C项使用了疑问语序,D项词序错误,应填what I should do with my problem。

Actions speak louder than words事实胜于雄辩;One small mistake may lead to a big failure一个小错误可能会导致巨大的失败;Like father, like son有其父必有其子;Nothing is impossible一切皆有可能。题干中“A miss is as good as a mile”意为“失之毫厘,谬以千里”,含义是小疏漏也会酿成大失误,可知B选项含义与之最接近。
30. I don't doubt ________ she can do it well, but I doubt ________ she is willing to do it.
A. that; that B. if; if C. that; if D. if; that

A
Typhoon Dolphin, the 13th typhoon of 2026, became a powerful storm as it moved toward the east coast of China. On August 9, it made landfall (登陆) in Yuhuan, Zhejiang Province. At the time, the typhoon had maximum (最大) winds of about 151 kilometers per hour.
Dolphin’s strong winds and heavy rain caused serious problems in many places. For example, the sea was especially frightening. Near Wenling, Zhejiang, huge waves reached about 15 meters high, about the height of a 5‑story building. In Yuhuan, a man living on the fourth floor suddenly found a small octopus (章鱼) stuck to his window. The octopus was still alive. It is believed that the strong winds picked it up from the nearby sea and carried it through the air before it landed on the man’s window. The man later took it down and cooked it. Although the story about the octopus sounds funny, it also shows how dangerous strong typhoon winds can be—A small sea animal was carried all the way to a fourth‑floor window.
Before Dolphin arrived, local governments prepared for the storm. People living in dangerous coastal areas were moved to safer places. Workers checked drainage systems (排水系统) and prepared emergency supplies.
After making landfall, Dolphin gradually became weaker. However, its effects did not disappear immediately. Heavy rain continued in many areas, and rivers and streets could still be dangerous.
46. What is the main purpose of the first paragraph?
A. To introduce Typhoon Dolphin and its effects. B. To explain how typhoons are formed.
C. To tell people how to travel during a typhoon. D. To describe the life of people in Yuhuan.
47. Why does the writer mention a 5‑story building in Paragraph 2?
A. To explain how buildings are made. B. To help readers imagine the height of the waves.
C. To show where people hid during the storm. D. To compare different kinds of buildings.
48. What can we learn about the octopus?
A. It was already dead when the man found it. B. It climbed up the building by itself.
C. It probably came from the nearby sea. D. It was kept by the man before the typhoon.
49. What did local governments do before the typhoon arrived?
A. They moved people from dangerous areas. B. They built new roads.
C. They stopped all flights for a week. D. They sent people to the sea to watch the waves.
50. What can we infer (推断) from the last paragraph?
A. People can relax as soon as a typhoon makes landfall.
B. Heavy rain always stops when a typhoon becomes weaker.
C. People should leave their homes whenever it rains.
D. A weaker typhoon can still cause problems.
46. A 47. B 48. C 49. A 50. D

The Fields Medal, often called the “Nobel Prize of mathematics”, is one of the highest honours in mathematics (数学). It is given every four years to young mathematicians under 40 years old around the world.
In 2026, Wang Hong made history. She became the first mathematician from China and the third female (女性) mathematician in the world to win the Fields Medal. She received the award with her university classmate Deng Yu at the International Congress of Mathematicians.
Wang Hong was born in 1991 in Guilin, Guangxi. She showed great interest in learning from an early age. At 16, she entered Peking University, where she first studied earth science before changing her major (专业) to mathematics. However, her journey was not easy. With many excellent classmates around her, she sometimes doubted herself. She even studied architecture (建筑学) for half a year before she went back to math.
After university, she studied in France and the United States. In 2019, she received her PhD in mathematics from MIT. Her greatest achievement was proving the 3-D Kakeya conjecture (三维挂谷猜想), a famous math problem that mathematicians believed might be true but could not prove for more than 100 years. Together with Joshua Zahl, she found a new way and finally proved it. Her work has helped mathematicians and scientists explore other difficult problems in mathematics and physics.
Although Wang Hong is a famous mathematician, she lives a balanced life. She thinks people won’t learn well if they push themselves to study all the time. She once said, “Rest when you are tired; study when you have energy.” She often does sports and takes breaks when meeting hard problems.
After Wang Hong won the Fields Medal, many people on social media shared their excitement. They congratulated Wang Hong on her great achievement and felt proud to see Chinese mathematicians shining on the world stage (舞台) of mathematics.

Making healthy choices is important. Eating the right food, staying active and getting enough sleep can help your body in lots of ways.
Picking the right food gives you the energy to do all the things you love. It also helps your body grow and your brain develop. Eating things such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains (全谷物) is good for your health. However, being healthy doesn’t mean you can never eat snacks. It’s about making sure you have a balanced diet. “When you choose a balanced diet, you’ll have more energy, feel better and be able to do the things you love,” Lucy Upton, a children’s dietitian (营养学家) , says.
Another healthy choice you can make is being active—whether it is sports, going for a walk or playing a game. Being active helps your brain make special chemicals. These chemicals can relax your body and calm your mind. Being active can help your body and your mind stay fighting fit. Feeling fit can make you feel better and more confident about yourself. When you play a ball game with others, you can even make new friends.
Finally, getting enough sleep is also very important. Sleep helps your body grow. While you sleep, your brain is busy building new connections and your body is repairing itself. Preparing properly for bedtime helps you stay asleep. A good way to tire yourself out is by getting plenty of exercise during the day, like walking to and from school or doing sports. Take an hour or two to rest or relax after a period of activities before bed. Don’t drink tea or coffee, and turn off phones, computers and video games. Try reading a book instead.
Remember: making healthy choices is the key to keep your body and your mind fit and strong. Let’s get started now!
56. Why does the writer show Lucy Upton’s words?
A. To tell readers who is a famous dietitian.
B. To support the point with an expert’s opinion.

第2段在介绍均衡饮食的重要性后,引用儿童营养学家Lucy Upton的话“When you choose a balanced diet, you’ll have more energy, feel better and be able to do the things you love”。
第3段首句写道“Another healthy choice you can make is being active—whether it is sports, going for a walk or playing a game of it.”破折号后的“it is sports, going for a walk or playing a game of it”是对“being active”这一选择的举例说明,因此“it”指代前文的“Another healthy choice”。
第4段写道“Sleep helps your body grow. While you sleep, your brain is busy building new connections and your body is repairing itself.”

Though times have changed, falling asleep in class is still a common occurrence (常事) among teenagers.
Why do students sometimes fall asleep in class? An obvious reason is a lack of sleep. However, there are also causes for getting too little sleep.
Homework is a daily occurrence for most students, one that can take three to four hours per night. A teenager who wants to be able to take part in any activity must balance homework with them. For example, all contribute to (促成) teens having less time for both homework and sleep. Sometimes teens lack sleep because of after-school jobs that are taken on to earn extra money for college, family expenses, or simply for clothes.
Physical problems are another factor that can cause students to fall asleep in class. For example, insomnia, which may keep a student up at night, causing exhaustion (疲惫不堪) during class hours, is a serious problem that may require medical attention. Medical evidence also supports the idea that each person has a body clock that helps to decide his or her sleep pattern. Unluckily, these body clocks do not always work according to school timetables.
The effects of falling asleep in class can be quite serious. First of all, sleeping in class is not a good way to endear (使受喜爱) yourself to teachers. In addition, it is highly possible that other students may laugh at those who sleep in class. However, the most harmful effect of sleeping in class is missing out on important points. In the long run, sleepers may end up failing classes.
Since teens are probably not going to deal with the problem, falling asleep in class will probably remain an all-too-common occurrence. It will continue until more teens find a way to balance their personal and social lives with school and work, while still finding enough time to sleep.
Introduction
Times have changed, ____76____ falling asleep in class is still quite common.
Causes
Lack of sleep
To ____77____ doing their homework, students may have to work three or four hours every night.
To achieve a ____78____ between homework with activities, students may stay up late.

Physical problems
Insomnia may ____80____ students from falling asleep at night.
Students’ body clocks do not always ____81____ their school timetable.
Effects
Students sleeping in class may not be ____82____ by their teachers.
Students who sleep in class run the risk of being ____83____ at.
Students who sleep too much in class may miss out on important knowledge and ____84____ in their study.
Conclusion

根据“Though times have changed, falling asleep in class is still a common occurrence (常事) among teenagers.” 故填but。
根据“Homework is a daily occurrence for most students, one that can take three to four hours per night.”
根据“A teenager who wants to be able to take part in any activity must balance homework with them. For example, all contribute to (促成) teens having less time for both homework and sleep.”
根据“Physical problems are another factor that can cause students to fall asleep in class. For example, inasomnia…attention.” stop sb. (from) doing sth./prevent sb. (from) doing sth. 故填stop/prevent。
根据“Unluckily, these body clocks do not always work according to school timetables.”
根据“First of all, sleeping in class is not a good way to endear (使受喜爱) yourself to teachers.” 故填liked/loved。
根据“In addition, it is highly possible that other students may laugh at those who sleep in class.”
根据“However, the most harmful effect of sleeping in class is missing out on important points. In the long run, sleepers may end up failing classes.”
根据“Since teens are probably not going to deal with the problem…while still finding enough time to sleep.”

Making healthy choices is important. Eating the right food, staying active and getting enough sleep can help your body in lots of ways.
Picking the right food gives you the energy to do all the things you love. It also helps your body grow and your brain develop.
