What you eat every day has a direct and lasting impact on your brain health and memory ability. Foods rich in omega3 fatty acids, such as salmon(三文鱼), walnuts(核桃)and flax seeds(亚麻籽), are great for the brain because they nourish brain cells and improve your ability to learn and remember new things. Blueberries, strawberries and dark green leafy vegetables also play a key role. They are full of antioxidants(抗氧化剂)that protect brain cells from damage caused by daily stress and tiredness. On the other hand, sugary snacks, fried foods and processed meals do harm to your memory. ▲ They cause sudden blood sugar spikes and crashes, making it hard to stay focused and retain
information for long. For students, a balanced breakfast with eggs, whole grains and fresh fruit can provide steady energy for the brain and boost memory for morning classes. Small healthy snacks like Greek yogurt or almonds(杏仁)can also keep your brain sharp and active throughout the school day. It's easy to ignore the link between diet and memory, but a good eating habit is just as important as enough sleep and regular exercise for a sharp mind and good memory.

One morning, he got on the bus. He realized he was wearing his slippers(拖鞋). He had to get off the bus and go back home to put on his shoes. He was late for work. Then, he forgot to send an important email to the manager. The manager was mad at him. Eric said sorry and felt very upset. “Oh, no, I must see the doctor, or I'll lose my job!” Eric thought. In the afternoon, he went to the hospital. He said to the doctor,“My memory is too poor to remember simple things. I'll probably lose the job! Can you help me?” The doctor examined him and said,“Don't worry. Take this medicine before sleeping. Maybe you'll feel better next week.”
A week later, Eric went to the hospital again. The doctor asked,“Did you take the medicine on time?” Eric replied in surprise,“What? It's my first time to be here. I haven't seen you before!”

Five Tips to Improve Your Memory
Most of us know that our brains become smaller in size as we get older, but did you know that diet and lifestyle have an effect on how well our brains work?
Research shows that eating lots of fruit, vegetables and proteins(蛋白质)improves memory. 1._ Eating oily fish or dark chocolate(with over 70% cocoa)and taking Vitamin D3 can also help make your memory stronger.
2._ A 2011 study showed that regular exercise actually increases brain size. Another study found that exercise improved memory in some older people; surprisingly it found that one single training period had the same effect on memory as regular, long exercise period!
One study found that eight weeks of short, daily meditation(冥想)improved memory. Other ways to relax can also improve our shortterm memory. Try taking 510 minutes of your day to meditate or listen to music. 3._
Experts say that age reduces our ability to learn, but sleep can help. 4._ A 2019 study found that students learned things better before and after a short sleep!
5._ Try to memorize information like phone numbers and addresses rather than putting the information in your phone. You could also learn a language or do brain training like crosswords(填字游戏).
根据短文内容,从方框内所给的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,使短文语意连贯,选项中有一项为多余项。
