Passage 2 (25-26高二上·重庆渝北中学·期中)Parks are essential for cities, but some go beyond simple lawns and playgrounds. They tell stories of artistic vision, technological innovation, industrial history, and environmental recovery. The following four parks around the world are shining examples of such transformations. Park Güell Located in Barcelona, Park Güell is the artistic masterpiece of architect Antoni Gaudí. Initially planned as a housing complex, it is now a public park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It feels like stepping into a fairy tale, with its colorful sculptures, winding pathways, and organic forms that blend architecture into nature, offering breathtaking city views. Duisburg North Landscape Park This German park is a brilliant example of repurposing industrial heritage. Built on the site of a former iron and steel plant, the park did not erase its past. Instead, it transformed massive industrial structures into new facilities: a gas tank became a diving pool, and concrete storage bunkers were turned into climbing gardens. It demonstrates how ecological and recreational life can flourish in post-industrial landscapes. Gardens by the Bay Showcasing the vision of a “City in a Garden,” Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay is a model of future-oriented design. Its most famous features are the Supertree Grove, where tree-like structures perform environmental functions, and two large cooled conservatories that house plants from diverse climates. This park is a remarkable combination of cutting-edge technology, engineering, and gardening. Freshkills Park Freshkills Park in New York is undergoing one of the most remarkable transformations globally. Once the world’s largest landfill, it is being turned into a public park nearly three times the size of Central Park. Through advanced engineering and ecological restoration, this once-polluted site is becoming a vast habitat for wildlife and a symbol of sustainable renewal, proving that even severely damaged environments can be given a new life. 1.What was Park Güell originally intended to be? A. A public garden. B. A residential community. C. A modern art museum. D. A world heritage site. 2.Which park is a good example of futuristic design? A. Park Güell. B. Freshkills Park. C. Gardens by the Bay. D. Duisburg North Landscape Park. 3.What do Duisburg North Landscape Park and Freshkills Park have in common? A. Location in the United States. B. Famous architectural designers. C. Preservation of industrial heritage. D. Ecological restoration and renewal. Sandwiched between two brothers, Lily is rough at times, what back in my day people called a tomboy, more into climbing trees than quietly playing with dolls indoors. For a while, I feared, even with all the messages about “girls can do anything” on TV and T-shirts, she was starting to think girls were stupid. Then along came Stranger Things, with its tongue-tied and bald (光头) rebel who can destroy trains and cars with the power of her mind. For the most part, I’m thrilled that Lily wants to be Eleven, who is the rare young heroine, equally brilliant and raw, and has perseverance and hope, with a desire for human connection and the skill to battle the evil. She is an enormous step up from my childhood girl idol (崇拜对象), including all six ladies in Charlie’s Angels and the Lynda Carter version of Wonder Woman, who are all competitive and smart. But it’s interesting to me that my daughter lit upon a character whose primary emotion is this massive anger and whose main role in the show consists of learning to channel her anger to defeat a dark force. Is Lily seeing what she longs for or identifies with? If she had such powers, what would she want to do? Parents everywhere understand there is a mental-health crisis among young people. Girls, especially are losing hope. We just don’t know how or even what to fix. Maybe Eleven can give these girls a blueprint, or faith that they can one day be in charge again. Maybe she can encourage those girls to fight back. Somewhere deep down, they sense that rage is exactly the right thing to feel. And why waste that passion pounding doors and cursing (咒骂) brothers when their anger could be employed to achieve far greater things? For our daughters, Eleven lays out a path into the future. Simply being ambitious and resourceful is no longer enough. Circumstances are calling for a new sort of heroism, one with a brain powerful enough to make the best of her anger. 1.What can we know about Lily from paragraph 2? A. She considers girls foolish. B. She has supernatural power. C. She is obsessed with TV dramas. D. She behaves boyishly sometimes. 2.Why is the author interested in her daughter’s idol? A. She is a true heroine with strength and hope. B. She differs from the author’s childhood idols. C. The author doubts if Lily really relates to Eleven. D. The author isn’t sure if she is a suitable role model. 3.What can be inferred in paragraph 4? A. Girls avoid communicating with families. B. Girls’ anger is unhealthy and needs controlling. C. Girls’ anger shows deeper unresolved problems. D. Girls are angry because they follow TV characters. 4.Which of the following might be the author’s advice for young girls? A. They should not be angry with others. B. They should make the best of their anger. C. They should have their own idols to follow. D. They should value ambition and resourcefulness. 主题语境01 人与自我-做人与做事 (25-26高二上·重庆西南大学附中·期中)Summer is coming. Are you looking for internships (实习)? 【答案】1. B 2. C 3. 【答案】1. D 2. C 3. C 4. B 【解析】【导语】 这是一篇个人随笔。围绕女儿Lily痴迷《怪奇物语》中的Eleven这一角色展开,探讨愤怒情绪在女孩成长中的价值。 (1)题解析: 细节理解题。根据第二段“Lily is rough at times, what back in my day people called a tomboy, more into climbing trees than quietly playing with dolls indoors (Lily有时很粗犷,在我那个年代人们会称她为假小子,比起在室内安静地玩娃娃,她更喜欢爬树)”可知,Lily有时表现得像男孩一样。故选D项。 (2)题解析: 细节理解题。根据第三段“But it’s interesting to me that my daughter lit upon a character whose primary emotion is this massive anger (但让我觉得有意思的是,我女儿偏偏钟情于一个以“强烈愤怒”为主要情感特质的角色)”以及“Is Lily seeing what she longs for or identifies with? If she had such powers, what would she want to do? (Lily是看到了她渴望或认同的东西吗?如果她有这种能力,她想做什么?)”可知,作者对女儿选择这样一位愤怒的角色作为偶像感到好奇并有所疑问,怀疑莉莉是否真的与这个角色产生共鸣。故选C项。 (3)题解析: 推理判断题。根据第四段“Girls, especially are losing hope.
