Food companies design junk food to make it addictive. They label their products to make them
seem much healthier than they are.And their advertisements target children.
All of this is according to a news report recently released by students in a Texas middle school.
Christopher J.Bryan led a study on food-industry advertising strategies. He guided students to learn
how food companies sell unhealthy products and whether such learning.would influence kids'
attitudes toward junk food,
Nowadays, kids around the world prefer food high in salt, sugar and fat, largely because
misleading ads make junk food seem attractive. When young people start to doubt the real purposes
behind junk-food ads, they will feel they are fighting unfair situations.Bryan believes it is
rewarding for kids to do the right thing.
Junk food is closely connected with many health problems, such as heart disease, obesity and
diabetes. However, food companies spent nearly $9 billion on TV advertisements for unhealthy
food in 2017.
Companies use different kinds of advertising methods. They use cartoon characters to make
food look fun and invite famous athletes to promote sugary drinks.Advertisers know children will
repeatedly ask their parents to buy the products they want.In fact, most parents fail to notice the
huge influence of food ads. After growing up,people gradually get used to such advertisements and
hardiy realize their harm.
"Teenagers are becoming conscious of themselves,"Bryan says,"and they see a chance to
make the worid a better place."
()26.Food companies design junk food to
A.make their food seem more inviting
B.help people to have a healthy lifestyle
C.improve food's qualities and smells
D.lead children to buy healthier food
)27.What was Bryan's purpose of leading the study?
A.To help kids stay away from snacks.
B.To see ads'influence on kids'choice.
C.To stop the production of junk food.
D.To research kids'daily eating habits.
()28.What can we learn from the passage about food-company advertising?
A.It tricks children into preferring high-salt and high-sugar food.
B.It mainly tells parents the disadvantages of junk food.
C.It helps teenagers form good eating habits at school.
D.It offers kids true information about food products.

"Wow!Look at that!Isn't it a real fish?The bionic (fish,named "Jinlin",was
swimming lively like a real one.It was developed by researchers at Shanghai Ocean University.
This invention isn't just for fun-it shows how humans copy nature to solve problems. That is a
science called bionics.
In bionics, scientists learn from nature's clever survival advantages and apply them to human
designs.Over millions of years, animals and plants have developed smart ways to survive. For
example, kingfishers (are experts at moving fast between air and water with very little noise.
Through study, scientists discovered that their long beaks (enabled this ability. Then they used
the knowledge to change the front of the high-speed train. This change cut down noise level,
increased speed by 10%and greatly saved energy.
Besides,driven by robotics.and Al,bionics has grown rapidly.The Al-powered bionic
fish"Jinlin"can be used for environmental protection and deep sea exploration. In medicine, bionic
arms can work similarly to real arms.Sensors (allow the user to"feel"touch and pressure.
Motors help the bionic arms make movements, like human muscles ()With Al,the bionic
arms are able to"learn"new tasks and become smarter over time. These inventions are examples to
show how bionics bridges biology and new technology and new problems.
Although so much progress has been made, bionics faces challenges.Nature's designs arc hard
to copy perfectly. As for bionic arms, one key area of development is Brain-Computer connection.
More work on direct communication between the brain and bionic arms is required to control
movements as naturally as real arms.Researchers are also working on creating new materials and
structures which can sense and repair themselves.
While there's still a long way to go,the future of bionics is full of possibilities.Stay hungry.
Stay foolish.Maybe you'll be the next one to change the world!
()31.Why does the writer mention"Jinlin"at the beginning of the passage?
A.To suggest some new ideas.
B.To lead into the topic of bionics
C.To explain the habits of fish.
D.To show the importance of bionics.
()32.What can we learn from Paragraph 3?
A.Robotics and AI have developed fast because of bionics.
B.The bionic fish"Jinlin"is used for medical purposese
C.Motors allow the bionic arms to make movements.
D.Sensors help bionic arms learn new tasks over time.

A.Drawing a picture of birds by watching real birds.
B.Building a house with natural materials like wood.
C.Designing a camera by copying some insects'eyes.
D.Learning to dance by studying monkeys'movements.
)35.What can we infer from the last two paragraphs?
A.Bionics has already copied nature's designs perfectly.
B.Brain-Computer connection is no longer needed for bionic arms.
C.New self-repairing materials for bionics have been widely used.
D.There is still plenty of room for further development in bionics.
第二节阅读填空(共5小题:每小题1分,满分5分)
Have you ever dreamed of flying over heavy traffic jams?In China, this sci-fi idea is slowly
becoming real,thanks to the fast-growing“low-altitude economy(低空经济)

low-flying vehicles.China leads the world in this field,with over 70%of global patents.Experts
believe the industry will be worth 1.5 trillion yuan by 2027.
The development of the low-altitude economy cannot do without support.37 More than
30 provinces have made simpler rules for drones and flying machines, making it easier for
companies to test their products. Many local governments also hold events to popularize
low-altitude technology among young people.
Drones are already changing our lives in many ways.Companies are testing unmanned
passenger flights, bringing flying taxis closer to real use.In busy cities, drones deliver food and
packages,saving lots of time.38
Related study is keeping pace with the fast industry development. At the moment, there are not
many courses about low-altitude technology in schools. But this is changing quickly.39

第二节简答题(每题2分,共10分)请从下面短文中提炼一些关键信息,为本次分享会准
备的介绍准备。
Throughout our lives,we are often taught to look for just one correct answer to a question, like
What is2+2?”or“What is the capital of India?”This“one problem, one answer'”way of thinking
is deeply rooted in how we lear.Seldom do we consider the possibility of muitiple answers.
However, can we come up with different right answers to a question when we are asked to?To
find out,I approached a group of fourth graders.I asked them,"What if there is more than one way
to think about the answer to2+2?”They shared many creative answers,.such as“half of8”,“the
number of runners on a relay team"or"the number that comes after 3".The results,as you can see,
were diverse(多样的)and inventive..These students weren't limited by the artificial“requirement'”
of a single right answer. They were simply asked a"What if...?"question.
So,what lies behind this question?Educator Ken Robinson observed that many schools in the
UK often fail to develop students'natural creativity.Instead, they promote uniformity and
standardization(统一性和标准化).Studies show that although many teachers say they value
independent thinking, they often reward behaviour that is simply obedient )As a result,we
may create a workforce that follows instructions well but can hardly think creatively. In short,we
tell students to colour inside the lines, but then expect adults to think outside the box.
It's time to break free from the "single right answer"mindset. How can we do this?First,
teachers should ask more open-ended questions to encourage different ways of thinking. It is also
important to create a safe classroom environment'so that students feel comfortable when taking
risks and making mistakes.By doing so,we can better equip students to solve difficult problems
with flexibility and creativity in the future.
