In a recent English class, students had a heated discussion about whether children should be paid for doing the household chores, and their opinions could be varied.  Thinking there are many advantages of paying children for doing housework (现在分词作状语;宾语从句), some people support it. On the one hand, linking parents’ pocket money with housework (动名词作主语) not only is a good way to teach children responsibility but it also urges them to understand money and how money works (宾语从句,作understand的宾语). On the other, children can use the money to do something they like (定语从句), which makes them independent (定语从句). However, the opponents believe that the drawbacks of paying children for doing housework outweigh the benefits. Firstly, it makes children spoiled (make+宾语+宾补). Secondly, it cultivates the worship of money among teenagers; for example, they may bargain with you to dispose of garbage. From my point of view, children should not be misled to trust that everything always has a return (宾语从句).
