The 24 Solar Terms (二十四节气) is a traditional Chinese calendar system that reflects the changes of nature, climate, and agricultural activities. Developed over 2,000 years ago, it is based on the Earth’s orbit around the sun and the position of the sun in the zodiac In 2016, it was listed as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Each solar term lasts about 15 days, and together they divide the year into 24 parts. The terms are closely related to people’s daily lives and farming practices. For example, “Lichun” (Beginning of Spring) marks the start of the spring season, when farmers begin plowing the fields. “Xiazhi” (Summer Solstice) is the longest day of the year, while “Dongzhi” (Winter Solstice) is the shortest. “Ching Ming” (Pure Brightness) is a well-known term associated with tomb-sweeping and enjoying spring scenery.
The 24 Solar Terms also influence Chinese food culture. During “Lixia” (Beginning of Summer), people in southern China eat “five-colored rice” to wish for good health. In northern China, “Dahan” (Major Cold) is the time to eat hot pot and dumplings to keep warm. Additionally, many proverbs related to the solar terms have been passed down, such as “Rain Water nourishes all things” and “Grain in Ear is the season for harvesting wheat.”
Today, although modern calendars are widely used, the 24 Solar Terms still play an important role in Chinese society. They remind people to respect nature’s laws and maintain a harmonious relationship with the environment. Many traditional festivals, such as the Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival, are also closely connected to certain solar terms.
24. What is the basis of the 24 Solar Terms?
A. Agricultural activities in ancient China B. The Earth’s movement around the sun
C. The changes of the moon’s phases D. UNESCO’s cultural heritage standards
25. Which solar term is linked to tomb-sweeping?
A. Lichun B. Xiazhi C. Ching Ming D. Lixia
26. Why do people eat hot pot during Major Cold?
A. To celebrate the harvest B. To wish for good luck
C. To keep their bodies warm D. To honor ancestors
27. What can we learn about the 24 Solar Terms today?
A. They are no longer used in modern life B. They are only important for farmers
C. They connect traditional festivals and nature D. They were created 1,000 years ago

After afternoon classes, it’s common to see teenagers take out their phones. Some look through educational apps to review math formulas (数学公式) while others jump into online games or check social media. This daily sight shows the Internet is now part of teens’ lives—they can’t live without it. But it has two sides: helping or hurting them, especially if used unbalanced.
First, the Internet is a strong learning tool. Teens get many things, like free math classes on fun TED-Ed science videos, breaking regular classroom limits. A 2023 survey found 68% of high schoolers use online platforms to help study, and 45% of them got better grades in English, physics and more. It also builds social skills: joining international reading groups lets teens practice talking with different cultures—key for future jobs.
But we can’t overlook its bad parts. A Journal of Adolescent Health study said teens online over 4hours a day are 2.3 times more likely to do badly in school. They put aside homework for games or social media, so test scores drop. Peking University found 31% of teens have sleep problems and 25%gain weight from long sitting and late screen time. What’s worse, some focus on virtual worlds, avoid family, and feel worried offline.
Schools are very important for helping teens use the Internet in a smart way. They need to give classes that teach students useful online skills. In these classes, students learn to tell good educational websites from bad ones, set daily limits on screen time, and notice signs of Internet addiction. Besides, teachers can plan offline activities, like hiking or debate competitions. These activities take teens’ attention away from screens and help them enjoy real-life fun again.
In short, the Internet has two sides. With family, friend and school help, teens can use it well——to grow healthily.
28. How does the author support the main idea of paragraph 2?

C. By comparing different things.
D. By giving examples and numbers.
29. What does the underlined word “virtual” in paragraph 3 probably mean?
A. Real. B. Online. C. Happy. D. Busy.
30. What can schools do to help teens use the Internet wisely?
A. Offer them all kinds of apps.
B. Stop their using the Internet.
C. Teach them to choose good websites.
D. Allow them more time on social media.
31. What is the best title for the text?
A. Teens’ Daily Life with Phones.
B. Bad Effects of Too Much Screen Time.
C. How Do Schools Help Teens Study Online?.
D. Is the Internet Helpful or Harmful to Teens?.

Have you ever tried to learn about your ancestors (祖先)? It can feel like solving a puzzle with many missing pieces. searching through old records takes time, and you might find only one small fact after hours of work. But now, AI can help. ____32____
First, decide what you want to know. A clear goal helps you stay on track. ____33____ Second, use AI to help you plan your search. For example, if you’re looking for Laozi, you can ask an AI tool like Deepseek for a plan. It may suggest steps such as collecting what you already know, looking at birth records, and reading old newspapers.
____34____ It can write a short life story of an ancestor in minutes. Just give it basic facts — name, date of birth, job, and place — and let AI create a first draft. You can then improve and check it. AI can also help you learn about a town your family once lived in, including what daily life was like in the past. Another cool use is turning your notes into a fun family blog.
To use AI well, follow a simple method. Start with a clear task, such as “Write a 200-word story about my great-grandfather.” Then give correct facts, ask for a clear form, and always check the result with real sources. ____35____
But be careful — two problems can happen. One problem is speed: AI works fast, but its answers may be wrong. So slow down and check. Another problem is trusting AI too much. Never believe its answers without clear facts. ____36____ This way, your family history stays both correct and interesting.
A. AI is useful in more ways than just making plans.
B. Without one, you might get lost in too much information.
C. However, there are problems to watch out for when using AI.
D. Tools like Doubao can also add facts from the past to help your search.
E. It won’t do all the work for you, but it can make things faster and easier.
F. Always check its results against real records, such as papers from offices.
G. After checking, you can turn your work into a school project or share it online.

Entering the room, James found his younger brother Adam sitting on the edge of his bed with an uneasy expression on his face.James stared at Adam confusedly.
“Sorry.I did something wrong,” Adam said, on the verge of tears.
“What’s the matter with you?” James asked.
“This afternoon I went to play football on the road outside the house and accidentally hit our neighbor Mr. Black’s car.I was so scared and I hurried home in panic without telling him,” Adam said, full of guilt.
“Is the car seriously damaged?” James couldn’t wait to continue asking.
“The ball hit the car back and the tail light got broken,” Adam said in a low voice.
“It’s truly your fault. It’s really dangerous to play football on the road. What’s worse, you shouldn’t have come back without telling Mr. Black about it. You are such a naughty boy,” James raised his voice. Hearing this, Adam lowered his head and bit his lips hard. James added, “Anyway, it’s never too late to mend.I’11 take you to his house tomorrow to apologize. Now it’s time to sleep.”
When Adam went bed, James couldn’t go to sleep himself. Father always told him to be honest, to be a boy admired by the people and to be an example of his brother. He was sorry for his brother’s behavior. He shouldn’t have blamed his brother after he did something wrong. But he could understand him. Anyway, Adam was only a boy of seven and what had happened really scared him. But as his elder brother, he should pay for it though this might delay his plan of having the bike. “Nothing serious. At worst, I can take more summer jobs,” he said to himself.

B 25. C 26. C 27. C

D 29. B 30. C 31. D
根据文章第二段“Teens get many things, like free math classes on fun TED-Ed science videos, breaking regular classroom limits. A 2023 survey found 68% of high schoolers use online platforms to help study, and 45% of them got better grades in English, physics and more. It also builds social skills: joining international reading groups lets teens practice talking with different cultures—key for future jobs.
根据划线单词上文“A Journal of Adolescent Health study said teens online over 4hours a day are 2.3 times more likely to do badly in school.(《青少年健康期刊》的一项研究指出,每天上网超过4小时的青少年,学业表现不佳的概率是其他人的2.3倍。)”
根据文章第四段“They need to give classes that teach students useful online skills. In these classes, students learn to tell good educational websites from bad ones, set daily limits on screen time, and notice signs of Internet addiction.(它们需要开设课程,向学生传授实用的网络使用技能。在这些课程中,学生能学习如何辨别优质教育网站与不良网站、设定每日屏幕使用时长,以及识别网络成瘾的迹象。)”可知,学校可通过课程教青少年辨别优质网站,帮助他们明智使用互联网。故选C。
【31题详解】
主旨大意题。根据文章第一段“This daily sight shows the Internet is now part of teens’ lives—they can’t live without it. But it has two sides: helping or hurting them, especially if used unbalanced.(这一日常场景表明,互联网已成为青少年生活的一部分——他们的生活离不开互联网。但互联网具有两面性:既能为青少年提供帮助,也可能对他们造成不良影响,尤其是在使用不均衡的情况下。)”以及全文内容可知,文章开篇通过青少年使用手机的场景提出核心观点——互联网对青少年具有两面性;随后分别从“互联网是强大的学习工具”和“互联网存在负面影响”展开论述;最后提出学校的引导作用,始终围绕“互联网对青少年是有益还是有害”这一核心展开。选项D“Is the Internet Helpful or Harmful to Teens?( 互联网对青少年是有益还是有害)”很好地概括了全文内容。
E 33. B 34. A 35. G 36. F
根据上文“Have you ever tried to learn about your ancestors (祖先)? It can feel like solving a puzzle with many missing pieces. searching through old records takes time, and you might find only one small fact after hours of work. But now, AI can help.(你有没有试过了解你的祖先?这感觉就像在解一个缺少很多碎片的谜题。查阅旧记录很耗时,可能花几个小时只能找到一个小线索。但现在,人工智能可以提供帮助)”可知,此处应承接上文,说明AI在探寻祖先方面的作用,E选项“It won’t do all the work for you, but it can make things faster and easier.(它不会为你做完所有工作,但能让事情变得更快更容易)”既呼应了上文AI的帮助作用,又客观说明其功能边界,衔接下文的具体使用方法,符合语境。故选E项。
根据上文“First, decide what you want to know. A clear goal helps you stay on track.(首先,确定你想知道什么。明确的目标能帮助你保持方向)”以及下文“Second, use AI to help you plan your search.(其次,使用AI帮你规划搜索)”可知,此处应强调明确目标的重要性,B选项“Without one, you might get lost in too much information.(没有目标,你可能会在过多信息中迷失方向)”中的one指代上文的clear goal,与前文形成正反对比,衔接自然,符合语境。故选B项。
根据上文“Second, use AI to help you plan your search. For example, if you’re looking for Laozi, you can ask an AI tool like Deepseek for a plan.(其次,使用AI帮你规划搜索。例如,如果你在找老子,你可以向Deepseek等AI工具寻求计划)”以及下文“It can write a short life story of an ancestor in minutes. Just give it basic facts — name, date of birth, job, and place — and let AI create a first draft. You can then improve and check it. AI can also help you learn about a town your family once lived in, including what daily life was like in the past. Another cool use is turning your notes into a fun family blog.(它能在几分钟内写出一段祖先的生平简介。 故选A项。

When the night fell, James, a middle school student in London, dragged his tired body home.In order to save money to buy himself a new bike, he had been working at a restaurant for over a month during the summer vacation. He had already earned some money. With one more week, he would have his dream bike.

Mr. Black was a little surprised to see the brothers. “Mr. Black, I’m here to make an apology,” said James. Then he told Mr. Black what had happened and drew out the money from his pocket. “This is all the money I have. I wonder if it can pay for your loss,” he said sincerely. “Good boys, I truly appreciate your honesty.Just forget my car.” Mr. Black declined to get the money but accepted the brothers’ suggestions of doing some work in his garden.
