C.To tell how to handle pressure. 20.What study method does the speaker like the best? A.Using mind maps. B.Teaching others. C.Drawing tables. 【答案】18.C 19.B 20.A 【原文】 A friend who studies architecture at a good college told me that her math grades are holding her back. She asked how I managed to pass so many tough exams and graduate even though I wasn't fond of medical school. Well, for that, I want to share with you 2 easy steps. Step one: know what the exam is really about. When you fill a bucket, always put in the big rocks first. The smaller rocks will then automatically fill the remaining spaces. Concentrate on the key areas the exam is testing and don't stress about obscure details. To do this, review past exam papers, organize them by topic, and study the main types of questions commonly tested in each. Step two: practice, practice, and practice. Possessing knowledge is one thing, but being able to apply it in an exam is another. The ability to recall knowledge is important. One effective study method is teaching somebody else. I also recommend drawing mind maps, which is my personal favorite. Additionally, using tables to compare elements helps you remember and hence recall knowledge better. A The card worth paying for THE SHOP It is a membership card that is offered by THE SHOP Shopping Mall. Even so, I pushed forward with determination, completed my education, and dreamed of a stable livelihood. For some time, I ran a small grocery shop, but it collapsed due to limited capital and unpaid dues. When that business fell apart, my only source of income disappeared. Supporting my wife and our young daughter became increasingly uncertain, and the future felt clouded with worry. During this difficult period, I found hope through the Bangladesh Agro Processor Association(BAPA), which was implementing an apprenticeship programme under the ILO PROGRESS project. The programme aimed to train 500 apprentices across eight industries while promoting equal opportunities. When a neighbour told me about an opening at one of the participating agri-processing companies, I gathered my courage and applied. Luckily, I made it. The company that focused on employing persons with disabilities saw potential in me. They welcomed me as an apprentice and even improved my work environment to support my needs. This inclusive approach ensured that I could learn, contribute, and grow. I was placed in the packaging department. At first, the work was challenging, but with guidance from my supervisors and my own determination, I adapted quickly. Soon, I proved that capability is not defined by physical limitations but by opportunity and support. The company provided a safe and encouraging workplace with daily meals, access to a doctor, and weekly leave. The support systems gave me dignity and motivation. I began my career there earning about $60 per month, and after completing three months of apprenticeship, my salary increased to about $90 per month. This stability has eased my family’s worries. Although I currently stay in a dormitory because my village is far from the workplace, my weekly visits home are filled with joy and renewed purpose. I am genuinely thankful for this opportunity to work and build a better life. I dream of advancing my career and securing a brighter future for my family. 24.Why did the author apply for the apprenticeship? A.To leave his village. B.To run a grocery shop. C.To support his family. D.To launch a programme. 25.How did the company treat the author? A.It gave high pay at first. B.It changed his workplace. C.It offered support for him. D.It provided free daily meals. 26.What kind of person is the author? A.Humble and cautious. B.Brilliant and outgoing. C.Generous and independent. D.Responsible and determined. 27.What does the author think of his present life? A.It is busy and colorful. B.It is stable and hopeful. C.It is simple and ordinary. D.It is hard and discouraging. 根据原文第二段“Supporting my wife and our young daughter became increasingly uncertain, and the future felt clouded with worry.(养活妻子和年幼的女儿这件事变得越来越没有把握,未来充满忧虑。)” 根据原文第四段“The company that focused on employing persons with disabilities saw potential in me. They welcomed me as an apprentice and even improved my work environment to support my needs.(这家重点招聘残障人士的公司看到了我的潜力。他们接纳我成为学徒,甚至改善了我的工作环境来满足我的需求。)”可知,这家公司为作者提供帮扶与支持。 26.推理判断题。根据原文第一段“Even so, I pushed forward with determination, completed my education, and dreamed of a stable livelihood.(即便如此,我仍坚定地继续前行,完成了学业,期盼一份稳定的生计。)”以及原文第二段“Supporting my wife and our young daughter became increasingly uncertain, and the future felt clouded with worry.(养活妻子和年幼的女儿这件事变得越来越没有把握,未来充满忧虑。)”和第五段“At first, the work was challenging, but with guidance from my supervisors and my own determination, I adapted quickly.(起初,这份工作颇具挑战性,但在主管的指导以及自身坚定意志的支撑下,我很快适应了。)” 根据原文第六段“This stability has eased my family’s worries. Although I currently stay in a dormitory because my village is far from the workplace, my weekly visits home are filled with joy and renewed purpose.(这份稳定缓解了家人的忧虑。虽然因为村子离工作地点很远,我目前住在宿舍,但每周回家都充满喜悦,拥有新的人生目标。)”可知,作者认为当下的生活稳定且充满希望。 C Dreams seem to occur at random, from everyday situations to unpredictable experiences. Now, a new study shows that our personal features as well as real-life events actually shape what we dream about, creating patterns in our subconsciousness (潜意识). The study, published in Communications Psychology, analyzed thousands of dream and waking experience reports collected over four years. The researchers used natural language processing tools to quantify (量化) the structure of dreams. They found that personal features like how often someone daydreams, their attitudes about dreams, and their sleep quality all influence dream content. Researchers noticed that dreams don’t simply replay scenes from our daily lives. Instead, dreams seem to mix familiar places like workplaces, hospitals, and schools into new scenes that blend memories with imagination. The reported dreams tended to focus more on visual details, feature more characters, and make less logical sense. They were also less self-focused and less driven by conscious thinking. These dream transformations weren’t the same for everyone. Participants who spent more time daydreaming during the day tended to have dreams that jumped rapidly from one scene to another. Those who placed more importance on dreams described them as more vivid and immersive. Sleep quality also played a role. The team used three large language models, LLaMA 3, ChatGPT-4, and ChatGPT-4 Turbo, to rate dream reports on 16 different features, such as mood, strangeness and freedom of movement. “By combining large-scale data with computational methods, we were able to uncover patterns in dream contents that were previously difficult to find,” Elce said. “This opens new possibilities for studying consciousness, memory, and mental health in a better way.” 28.How did the researchers perform the study? A.By analysing data. B.By observing sleep. C.By conducting surveys. D.By tracking life events. 29.Which of the following best describes the nature of the dream? A.Creative. B.Conscious. C.Realistic. D.Repetitive. 30.What is the main advantage of applying the language models? A.Increasing the number of dream features. B.Enhancing the efficiency of human brains. C.Simplifying the content of personal reports. D.Identifying the structures of various dreams. 31.Which of the following can be a suitable title for the text? A.Dream Control Rules Your Day B.Better Sleep Creates Better Dreaming C.AI Now Fully Understands Our Dreams D.Dreams Are the Mind’s Hidden Patterns 【答案】28.A 29.A 30.D 31.D 【导语】本文主要介绍了一项新研究,该研究发现个人特征及现实生活事件会塑造梦境,让潜意识中存在特定模式,还介绍了研究方法、梦境的特点、大语言模型的作用以及研究的意义。 根据第二段“The study, published in Communications Psychology, analyzed thousands of dream and waking experience reports collected over four years. The researchers used natural language processing tools to quantify (量化) the structure of dreams.(这项发表在《传播心理学》上的研究分析了四年来收集的数千份关于梦和清醒体验的报告。研究人员使用自然语言处理工具来量化梦的结构。)”可知,研究人员通过对收集的报告进行分析,并借助工具量化梦的结构来完成研究。 29.推理判断题。根据第三段“Researchers noticed that dreams don’t simply replay scenes from our daily lives. Instead, dreams seem to mix familiar places like workplaces, hospitals, and schools into new scenes that blend memories with imagination.(研究人员注意到,梦不仅仅是简单重放我们日常生活中的场景。相反,梦似乎将工作场所、医院、学校等熟悉的地方融合成新的场景,这些场景将记忆与想象结合在一起。)”可知,梦不是对日常场景的简单复现,而是结合自身记忆与想象重新构建场景,这体现了梦具有创造性。 30.推理判断题。根据第二段“The researchers used natural language processing tools to quantify (量化) the structure of dreams.(研究人员使用自然语言处理工具来量化梦的结构。)”以及第五段“The team used three large language models, LLaMA 3, ChatGPT-4, and ChatGPT-4 Turbo, to rate dream reports on 16 different features, such as mood, strangeness and freedom of movement. “By combining large-scale data with computational methods, we were able to uncover patterns in dream contents that were previously difficult to find,”(研究团队使用了LLMA 3、ChatGPT-4和ChatGPT-4 Turbo三个大语言模型,对梦境报告中的情绪、怪异程度、行动自由度等16个不同特征进行评分。“通过将大规模数据与计算方法相结合,我们能够发现以往难以察觉的梦境内容模式。”)”可知,大语言模型作为研究工具,能帮助人类发现以往难以察觉的梦境内容模式,可推理出大语言模型的作用是帮助研究人员量化并识别梦境的结构。 31.主旨大意题。根据第一段“Now, a new study shows that our personal features as well as real-life events actually shape what we dream about, creating patterns in our subconsciousness(潜意识).(现在,一项新研究表明,我们的个人特征以及现实生活事件实际上塑造了我们的梦境内容,在潜意识中创造出模式。)”、第三段“Researchers noticed that dreams don’t simply replay scenes from our daily lives. Instead, dreams seem to mix familiar places like workplaces, hospitals, and schools into new scenes that blend memories with imagination.(研究人员注意到,梦不仅仅是简单重放我们日常生活中的场景。相反,梦似乎将工作场所、医院、学校等熟悉的地方融合成新的场景,这些场景将记忆与想象结合在一起。)”以及倒数第二段“These dream transformations weren’t the same for everyone. Participants who spent more time daydreaming during the day tended to have dreams that jumped rapidly from one scene to another. Those who placed more importance on dreams described them as more vivid and immersive. Sleep quality also played a role.(这些梦境的转变并非对所有人都一样。白天花更多时间做白日梦的参与者,往往会做那些从一个场景快速切换到另一个场景的梦。那些更重视梦境的人则说自己的梦更加生动逼真、身临其境。睡眠质量也起到了一定的作用。)”可知,文章主要介绍了梦境并非随机,而是受个人特征和现实事件影响,在潜意识中形成模式,D项“Dreams Are the Mind's Hidden Patterns.(梦是心灵隐藏的模式。)”最适合作为文章标题。 D A shining big box sits in the centre of a stage. As the crowd cheers, Hoshimachi Suisei emerges from the box, her blue hair artfully tied up. She kicks off the show with her hit song “Stellar Stellar” before dozens of other virtual performers take turns singing, dancing and chatting with the audience. The thousands of fans in attendance could not care less that Ms Hoshimachi and her teammates are digital avatars These entertainers are known as “VTubers” and they do not show their real faces; instead, they often use motion tracking technology to project their movements onto their cartoon avatars in real time. The phenomenon started in Japan around a decade ago as a great curiosity, but it has now spread across the world. According to Mordor Intelligence, a research firm, the global VTuber industry could reach $4.5bn by 2030. While Japanese VTubers dominate, other countries are getting in on the act. VTuber talent agencies such as Hololive Production have opened outposts in the West to target English-speaking audiences, with great success. Gawr Gura, an American whose avatar wears a shark costume, has 4.6m subscribers on YouTube. Patrick Galbraith of Senshu University in Tokyo notes that VTubers’ appeal lies in their “freewheeling” communication style: they may suddenly burst into song or shout random statements. Devoted fans, called “clippers”, turn these moments into short, shareable videos and add subtitles. Some clips get millions of views on platforms such as TikTok. Talent agencies, for their part, welcome clipping as free marketing. Given that AI models can write songs, generate artwork and have realistic conversations, might VTubers be replaced by AITubers? By offering round-the-clock amusement, AITubers can give more of what fans desire. Yet the industry is sanguine about VTubers. Motoaki Tanigo, the boss of Cover Corporation, which owns Hololive Production, has said that “Fans are drawn to VTubers because they know there is a real person behind the screen, someone they can connect with and support.” 32.How does the author introduce the topic of “VTubers”? A.By making a comparison. B.By describing a vivid scene. C.By introducing a concept. D.By presenting research data. 33.What does paragraph 3 mainly tell us about the VTuber industry? A.Its global growth. B.Its target audience. C.Its main limitations. D.Its market estimates. 34.What is the key factor behind VTubers’ success according to Patrick Galbraith? A.Their unpredictable style. B.Their worldwide agencies. C.Their promotion strategies. D.Their round-the-clock service. 35.What does the underlined word “sanguine” in the last paragraph mean? A.Anxious. B.Hesitant. C.Neutral. D.Optimistic. 【答案】32.B 33.A 34.A 35.D 【导语】文章主要介绍虚拟主播VTuber。 根据第一段“A shining big box sits in the centre of a stage. As the crowd cheers, Hoshimachi Suisei emerges from the box, her blue hair artfully tied up. She kicks off the show with her hit song “Stellar Stellar” before dozens of other virtual performers take turns singing, dancing and chatting with the audience.(一个亮闪闪的巨型箱体安放在舞台中央。 根据第三段“The phenomenon started in Japan around a decade ago as a great curiosity, but it has now spread across the world. …the global VTuber industry could reach $4.5bn by 2030. While Japanese VTubers dominate, other countries are getting in on the act.(大约十年前,这一现象在日本兴起,当时还只是新鲜事物,而如今已经传遍全球。……到2030 年,全球虚拟主播产业规模有望达到45亿美元。尽管日本虚拟主播占据主导地位,但其他国家也纷纷入局。)”可知,第三段主要介绍了VTuber行业的全球发展。 34.细节理解题。根据第四段“Patrick Galbraith… notes that VTubers’ appeal lies in their “freewheeling” communication style: they may suddenly burst into song or shout random statements. (……Patrick Galbraith指出,VTuber的吸引力在于他们“随心所欲”的交流风格:他们可能会突然唱歌或大喊随机的话。)”可知,根据Patrick Galbraith,VTuber成功的关键因素是它们不可预测的风格。 35.词句猜测题。根据第五段“Given that AI models can write songs, generate artwork and have realistic conversations, might VTubers be replaced by AITubers? By offering round-the-clock amusement, AITubers can give more of what fans desire.(鉴于人工智能模型能够创作歌曲、生成美术作品,还可以进行逼真对话,虚拟主播(VTuber)会不会被AI虚拟主播(AITuber)取代?AI虚拟主播可以全天候提供娱乐,能够更多地满足粉丝的需求。)” 下文“Fans are drawn to VTubers because they know there is a real person behind the screen, someone they can connect with and support.(粉丝被虚拟主播吸引,是因为他们知道屏幕背后有一个真实的人,一个可以与之建立联结、给予支持的对象。)” For years, doctors have dismissed multivitamins as a waste of money, claiming they only produce “expensive urine”. However, emerging evidence suggests that these supplements (补充物) may actually benefit certain groups of people. 36 In 2001, researchers from America’s National Institutes of Health studied over 3,500 people with age-related macular degeneration, a common cause of vision loss in older adults. Participants received high doses of vitamins C and E, zinc and beta carotene. 37 They were the first proof that supplements could truly help. Since then, further research has pointed to additional advantages. A 2022 study involving more than 5,000 participants aged 60 and older found that those taking daily multivitamins performed better on memory tests than those taking a placebo (安慰剂). 38 This suggests a potential link between cardiovascular (心血管的) health and cognitive (认知的) benefits. Not all evidence, however, points in the same direction. Other studies have found no significant cognitive benefits from multivitamin use, leading to ongoing debate among experts. 39 A 2024 review of 84 studies concluded that while multivitamins may offer some protection against cognitive decline, the effect is modest and varies greatly across populations. Given the mixed results, experts recommend a cautious approach. 40 However, certain populations, such as older adults or those with limited diets, may benefit. For those who do choose to take them, consulting a healthcare provider is essential to avoiding potential risks from excessive intake. A.It challenges the common belief about multivitamins. B.The benefit was most obvious in those with heart disease. C.Lacking consistent results makes firm conclusions difficult. D.The findings showed a 25% reduction in advanced disease risk. E.Doctors now recommend daily multivitamins for all older adults. F.Vitamin overuse may cause serious health problems to some people. G.They advise healthy individuals with a balanced diet need no supplements. 上文“For years, doctors have dismissed multivitamins as a waste of money, claiming they only produce “expensive urine”. On a sunny Saturday morning in October, the weather was perfect for a hike, so he decided to explore Oak Hill Forest Park, a famous national park near his hometown. Before Leo walked out of the door, his father stopped him and gave him a serious warning: “Leo, remember to stay on the marked tourist paths. The forest is extremely huge and it is easy to get lost if you go deep.” Leo nodded quickly, giving his father a reassuring (使人放心的) smile, but in his heart, he did not take the advice seriously at all. He believed he was experienced and strong enough to solve any unexpected situation. The autumn scenery in the park was breathtaking. As Leo hiked along the main path, he felt a sense of boredom. He wanted a real adventure. Suddenly, he noticed a narrow, overgrown dirt path leading away from the main path into the deeper woods. “This must be a secret shortcut to the top of the mountain,” he thought excitedly. Forgetting his father’s words, he stepped onto the quiet, wild path, eager to explore the unknown. Two hours passed quickly as he walked deeper and deeper. Gradually, the tall pine trees grew much thicker, completely blocking out the warm autumn sunlight. The temperature began to drop rapidly. It was then that Leo realized he could no longer find the path he had been following. He looked around, but every direction seemed exactly the same. Alarm started to wash over him. He quickly pulled out his smartphone, but to make things worse, the screen flashed and went black — the battery was dead. With no one in sight, despair (绝望) flooded over Leo. He sat down under a tree, shaking with both cold and fear, deeply regretting his decision. Just as he was about to lose hope, a friendly voice called out, “Is anyone there?” It was a forest ranger (护林员). 注意: (1)续写词数应为150个左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Hearing that, Leo shouted at the top of his voice. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ An hour later, Leo’s parents arrived at the ranger station. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: Hearing that, Leo shouted at the top of his voice. Then the ranger approached Leo. He smiled warmly, handed Leo a bottle of warm water, and comforted him. “Drink this, young man. You are safe now,” the ranger said softly. After taking a few sips of the warm water, Leo felt a wave of relief wash over him, and his shaking slowly stopped. The ranger then led him back to the station, using a thick blanket to keep him warm on the way. Once inside, the ranger plugged Leo’s dead phone into a charger and helped him contact his anxious family. Hearing his mother’s voice on the line, Leo’s eyes filled with tears of regret. An hour later, Leo’s parents arrived at the ranger station. The moment his mother rushed through the door, she wrapped Leo in a tight, breathless hug, her face pale with worry. His father stood nearby. His eyes filled with relief rather than anger. Leo looked at his parents, his voice trembling as he said, “Mom, Dad, I am so sorry. I should have listened to your advice.” He sincerely apologized to his parents and thanked the ranger for saving his life. Looking at the dark forest outside, Leo secretly promised himself that he would always respect safety rules and never go on blind adventures again. 词汇激活 行为类 ①安抚:comfort/soothe ②道歉:apologize/admit fault 情绪类 ①懊悔:regret/repentance ②担忧的:anxious/worried 【点睛】[高分句型1] After taking a few sips of the warm water, Leo felt a wave of relief wash over him, and his shaking slowly stopped.(运用了动名词作宾语) [高分句型2] Looking at the dark forest outside, Leo secretly promised himself that he would always respect safety rules and never go on blind adventures again.(运用了现在分词作伴随状语,that引导宾语从句) 2 / 24 1 / 24 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $英语听力部分,该部分分为第一第二两节。注意回答听力部分时,请先将答案标在试卷上。听力部分结束前,你将有两分钟的时间将答案转涂到客观题答题卡上。现在是听力试音时间。Hello, international friends club. can I help you? C Dreams seem to occur at random, from everyday situations to unpredictable experiences. A.Dream Control Rules Your Day B.Better Sleep Creates Better Dreaming C.AI Now Fully Understands Our Dreams D.Dreams Are the Mind’s Hidden Patterns D A shining big box sits in the centre of a stage. As the crowd cheers, Hoshimachi Suisei emerges from the box, her blue hair artfully tied up. She kicks off the show with her hit song “Stellar Stellar” before dozens of other virtual performers take turns singing, dancing and chatting with the audience. The thousands of fans in attendance could not care less that Ms Hoshimachi and her teammates are digital avatars (虚拟形象). These entertainers are known as “VTubers” and they do not show their real faces; instead, they often use motion tracking technology to project their movements onto their cartoon avatars in real time. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 For years, doctors have dismissed multivitamins as a waste of money, claiming they only produce “expensive urine”. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2 / 24 1 / 24 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
