阅读下面的材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
[1]Sports are about more than competitions. To me, they foster growth under the care of others. I only truly understood this after experiencing it myself.
[2]I used to be very shy and often felt lonely. Although I did well in all the academic subjects, I was afraid of physical education. That's because I was not good at sports. I was always slow on the track, and would freeze up whenever group games started.
[3]Moreover, whenever the teacher organized competitive games, I'd hang back, worried I'd let my team down. As a result, I often ended up standing on the sidelines, too nervous to join in. “I wish I could run as smoothly as you do,” I'd mumble to myself, watching my classmates move easily across the field.
[4]Things would go on like that if not for a sports meet in my high school. By mistake, my name was put on the list of those who would compete in the women's 1,500 meters race. By the time people found the mistake, it was too late to change.
[5]One girl who was a natural athlete said to me, “I couldn't run that race in your place, because I've signed up for three items already. This time, you should run for yourself.” Other athletic girls of the class said the same, their eyes warm and earnest.
[6]I was utterly dumbfounded. 1,500 meters! Running against the best runners from other classes! And in front of students of the entire school! It would be the worst nightmare I'd ever go through! Oh, my god! Giving up is out of the question now. What should I do? I was lost in a dilemma.
[7]Just at that time, my classmates noticed how awkward I was. “You still have time to catch up, because there is still one month before the sports meet.” They all said this to me, including my teacher.
[8]My deskmate, a careful girl, patted me on the shoulder. “Cool! You will run for our class! And we will do training together.”“Yes, this is not just for myself, but for my class too.” I said to myself. But still, 1,500 meters to me was like Mount Qomolangma to a beginning climber. I had no idea even how to start my preparation.
注意:续写词数应为150左右。
Fortunately, my deskmate gave me a hand._____________ _
With the shot of the starting gun, I dashed out and ran as fast as I could, as if it were a 200-meter race._____________________

One possible version:
Fortunately, my deskmate gave me a hand. She worked out a proper training schedule for me. Every afternoon after class, she stayed to run with me patiently. She adjusted my running pace and taught me useful skills. Other classmates also came to keep me company and offered constant encouragement. Gradually, I threw away my timidity and kept pushing myself harder. Day by day, my physical strength improved greatly, and I no longer feared the tough long run. Then the moment of the race came.
With the shot of the starting gun, I dashed out and ran as fast as I could, as if it were a 200-meter race. Soon I felt exhausted and my legs ached badly. Just as I wanted to quit, warm cheers from my classmates echoed around the playground. Their sincere support lifted my spirits instantly. I held on firmly and kept moving forward steadily. Though I didn't win a prize, I finished the whole race successfully. I truly understood that not only are sports merely about competitions, but they also promote growth accompanied by love and care.
