At the age of 7, Rudolph Blaze Ingram, also known as “Blaze the Great”, has already broken several
records and has become the fastest boy in the US, showing early signs of possibly becoming the next Usain
Bolt.
Blaze's father Rudolph Ingram Sr. said that the little boy started training when he was only 4 years old
right after watching the Olympics. Since then, he has shown great athleticism. He clocked 13.48 seconds in
his most recent 100-meter dash, breaking the USA track and field records for his age group.
“I feel great, and anyways I trained for it,” said Blaze, who dreams “of getting into the National
Football League” someday.
His father has always been involved in his training to prepare for his future, but still lets him be a kid.
“He watched the documentary about Usain Bolt, he has seen a lot of documentaries about sports stars
and he realized that he was doing the same thing that they were doing at that age. So he could see where this
would lead to,” he said.
Blaze has caught the attention of many people, including football players O.J. Howard and Mike Evans
from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and basketball star LeBron James. His social media account has more than
500,000 followers. Moreover, when talking about what he has accomplished and will accomplish in the future,
his father Rudolph Ingram Sr. said, “This is my baby. I feel he's one in a million. I don't like saying it because
he's my child but I definitely feel he does great things.”

Research often points to exercise as a good way to improve mental health, but a recent study from the
University of Georgia suggests that it's not just physical movement that affects mental health. It's how,
where and why you exercise that makes the difference.
“In previous (以前的) research, research on physical activity has focused on how long someone exer-
cises for or how many calories are burned,” said Patrick O'Connor, a co-author of the study. “The amount
of exercise has been the main way researchers have tried to understand how physical activity might influ-
ence mental health, while whether those minutes are spent exercising with a friend or as part of a game has
been ignored.”
Many studies find that people who take part in regular leisure-time physical activity, like going for a
run, taking a yoga class or biking for fun, tend to report lower levels of anxiety. But while leisure-time phys-
ical activity offers better mental health outcomes, these benefits may vary greatly depending on the envi-
ronment of the activity, according to the researchers.
“For example, if a soccer player runs down the field and kicks the game-winning ball, their mental
health is fantastic,” O'Connor said. “In contrast, if you do exactly the same exercise but miss the goal and
people are blaming (责备) you, you are likely to feel very different.”
Many studies also showed that adopting regular exercise routines improved mental health, especially
for individuals with existing mental health disorders. However, these studies were typically based on similar
samples, so the results are probably not suitable for more diverse groups. “If we're trying to improve people
's mental health through exercise, then not only do we need to think about the amount and the mode, but we
also need to ask: What is the context (背景)?” O'Connor said.
For O'Connor, the key point is clear. It's not just movement that matters. It's the meaning, the context
and the experience of the activity that determine the influence of exercise on mental health.
28.What has been largely overlooked in previous research?
A.The time length and type of the workout.
B.The social environment of physical activity.
C.The number of calories burned during exercise.
D.The physical health outcomes of regular exercise.
根据第二段中的“whether those minutes are spent exercising with a friend or as
part of a game has been ignored”可知,以往的研究忽视了体育活动的社交环境。
29.What can we learn from the example of the soccer player?
A.Winning ensures mental health benefits.
B.Playing football can improve mental health.
C.Blame from others leads to bad mental health.
D.Context matters in how exercise affects mental health.
30.What does O'Connor suggest researchers do?
A.Avoid studying people with mental health disorders.
B.Focus more on the amount of exercise in future studies.
C.Pay attention to the context of exercise in their research.
D.Prove what is the real effect of exercise on mental health.
根据第五段最后一句中的“we also need to ask: What is the context?”
31.Which situation best matches the “context effect” described in the text?
A.Lily buys lighter running shoes and runs faster.
B.Ben sleeps nine hours the night after swimming.
C.Mary loses 2 kg after keeping jogging 5 km every day for a month.
D.Tom feels great cycling with friends but bored when cycling alone.
根据第一段的关键信息“It's how, where and why you exercise that makes the
difference.”,第四段提到的例子,以及最后一段的关键信息“It's the meaning, the context and...deter-
mine the influence of exercise on mental health.”

In an ideal world, we would be able to devote as much time to sports as we feel we need. But in reality,
with growing demands of both work and family, we can only jump at the chance to do exercise when we
can. Making the most of that time to practice Yin Yang yoga, which mixes the dynamic and slow-paced el-
ements of yoga, helps keep you active and relaxed.
Yin and Yang are the Taoist concepts representing a balance of opposite forces which are also inter-
connected. Yin is inactive, cooling, and negative, associated with the female force. Yang is active, warming,
and positive, associated with action and movement. They are complementary to one another, as one cannot
exist without the other.
Yang yoga is a combination of high-energy movements which builds up energy, increases strength and
promotes stamina(耐力), followed by the more restful practice of Yin yoga to give us a deeper stretch(伸展)
and calm the nervous system.
If you have a busy and active life, you may feel more in Yang yoga, so taking some cooler, slower Yin
yoga practice into your routine may help you feel calmer and more balanced.
If you are practicing for an hour, divide the time in half. Warm up with Sun Salutation(拜日式), con-
tinue into a dynamic flow and then move on to some standing postures. After half an hour your heart will be
pumping, muscles tighten up and you are hopefully feeling energetic, but ready for a rest. Then pick five Yin
postures to hold for 3-5 minutes, or even longer if you are enjoying them!
As ever, if you are a beginner or have health issues, always attend a class with a trained instructor first
to guide you safely through the yoga practice and avoid injury.

will hear...even wear them.”

angry. One day, as he was given a chance to watch a basketball game, he dreamed about being a member of
the college basketball team the next year. On the way, he was delighted secretly. He thought no one in the
world was luckier than him. Suddenly, a car hit him. What a terrible experience! It seemed like a bad dream.
John woke up in a hospital room. He was frightened to death. He realized that he couldn't move both of
his legs. At that time, the doctor came in. When the doctor told him that both his legs were broken and he

One possible version:
John was glad that his dream of being a member of a basketball team came true. Basketball was like
medicine for him. John was much better and more confident than before. John practised hard to improve
himself. He was always the first to come to the court, and the last to go back home. Although it was not easy
for him to play and he did badly at first, he never thought about giving up. He was a boy with a strong mind.
Sunny saw all John did, lost in thought. He could not help praising John for his courage and love for
basketball. There are many ups and downs in life. No one knows what will happen. However, as long as there
is love and hope in our heart, nothing can stop us from achieving what we desire. As a matter of fact, what we
should do is hold on to the dreams and fight to the end.

Scotland is a place with unique languages, sports and landscapes. The most interesting thing about this place is that there are hundreds of tiny islands off the mainland to explore, but the most popular places to visit are not the hills or island, they are the beautiful old castles. The Harry potter series was based on scotland city streets and buildings, and if you come to visit, you can see how similar they are to those in the books and movies. I moved here when I was twenty years old and started my own company within the first five years. My company now provides special tools for visitors. Instead of driving visitors around or taking a bus, I get tourists on bicycles to ride through the region.
