(本题10分)With a simple, automated planting tool designed to help new saplings (树苗) survive the wind and drought in his hometown, 14-year-old Jia Mingxuan from Inner Mongolia recently won the top honor at the 77th Nuremberg International Invention Exhibition (iENA) in Germany. The board praised Jia for applying practical, locally grounded solutions to a major environmental challenge, reflecting both creativity and the promise of China’s young scientific talent.
Jia’s idea grew from his childhood experiences in Chifeng, a key area in China’s Three-North Shelterbelt Forest Program (TSFP), the world’s largest afforestation project. He often watched newly planted saplings struggle to survive and wondered whether he could design something to help.
The inspiration came in an unlikely place — the kitchen. One evening, he noticed steam condensing (冷凝) into droplets on the wall. A physics lesson resurfaced and he asked: “Could I use the same principle to collect water for saplings?”
Back at school, Jia began designing a device that captures condensation from the air and channels it directly to a tree’s root zone. His device applies the principle of dew (露水) formation. Without linking to any external water sources, the temperature difference between the ground surface and the underground environment allows water vapor to condense into small droplets, which end up in the root zone.
Jia’s award has electrified his hometown. One of the proudest observers is Chen Xuexun, who has spent 34 years fighting desertification. “Decades of work taught us that we cannot win this battle by manpower alone,” Chen said. “We need new ideas and young people like Jia.”
For Jia, the medal is only a beginning. He is already working with a research team from Shanghai to refine his device. His goal is clear — to turn a kitchen-inspired idea into a practical tool in China’s ongoing fight against desertification.

(本题10分)For centuries, rivers have been regarded as nature’s highways, allowing fish to migrate freely between breeding grounds and feeding areas. However, that’s not the case — human actions have turned many rivers into broken, dying systems, putting riverine life (河流生物) and our planet’s fragile balance at risk.
The Yangtze River’s wild sturgeon (鲟鱼) population is a sad example of this. The wild sturgeon population has sharply dropped by 90% since the 1980s, from about 10,000 in the 1970s to less than 20 in 2017. The Gezhouba Dam, finished in 1988, blocked the sturgeon’s yearly trip to their breeding grounds upstream. A 2023 study by the Chinese Academy of Sciences found that less than 10% of tracked sturgeon could get around the dam, leading to almost no natural reproduction.
While we’ve made big progress in protecting land animals — like the Qinghai-Xizang Railway, which built 33 special animal passages to help Tibetan antelopes migrate safely — we’ve done almost nothing to help water animals move freely. “We’ve spent billions of yuan making sure land animals can get around safely, but we still don’t care enough about rivers,” says Professor Li Wei, a leading freshwater ecologist at Peking University. “Fish can’t climb over dams or dig through concrete walls.”
The results of this carelessness are huge. When fish can’t move freely, they can’t carry important nutrients from the ocean to upstream areas. This affects everything from the growth of tiny water plants to the birds that depend on river food to live. As climate change makes water scarcer (稀缺的), keeping rivers connected is more important than ever.
“We’re not just losing fish — we’re losing the very base of river ecosystems,” warns Dr. Wang Lin, a river conservation expert at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. “To fix this problem, governments, groups and even individuals must work together and focus on building fish-friendly structures, like special ramps and side channels, and make stricter rules to protect river homes.”
How does the author introduce the topic?
A.By listing historical data.
B.By challenging a common belief.
C.By comparing different ecosystems.
D.By describing a natural phenomenon.
What effect did the Gezhouba Dam have on Yangtze sturgeon?
A.It reduced their population.
B.It ruined the breeding grounds.
C.It changed their migration route.
D.It lowered water quality upstream.
What does Dr. Wang Lin suggest about river ecosystem conservation?
A.Making laws is enough.
B.Rivers should be protected.
C.Joint cooperation is needed.
D.River structure should be banned.
Which of the following could be the best title?
A.Sturgeon: A Dying Creature
B.Wildlife Passages: A Success Story
C.Dams: Killers of River Ecosystems
D.River Connectivity: A Key to Riverine Life
【答案】28.B 29.A 30.C 31.D

Wang Lin所说的话“To fix this problem, governments, groups and even individuals must work together and focus on building fish-friendly structures, like special ramps and side channels, and make stricter rules to protect river homes. (为了解决这一问题,政府、团体甚至个人都必须携手合作,重点建设对鱼类友好的设施,例如专用坡道和侧向水道,并制定更严格的规则以保护河流栖息地。)”可知,他建议需要多方联合合作来保护河流生态系统。
31.主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是第一段中“However, that’s not the case — human actions have turned many rivers into broken, dying systems, putting riverine life (河流生物) and our planet’s fragile balance at risk. (然而事实并非如此——人类活动已使许多河流变成破碎、衰败的系统,威胁着河流生物以及地球脆弱的生态平衡。)”和第四段中“As climate change makes water scarcer (稀缺的), keeping rivers connected is more important than ever. (随着气候变化使水资源日益短缺,保持河流连通性比以往任何时候都更加重要。)”可知,文章主要指出河流连通性对河流生物至关重要,人类活动破坏了这种连通性,导致生态系统危机,并呼吁各方合作修复河流连通性。因此,“河流连通性:河流生命的关键”最能概括文章主旨,适合作为文章标题。
(本题10分)When acoustic (声音的) ecologist Marcus Maeder first placed a listening device in the soil, he was unprepared for what he heard. All sorts of strange sounds flooded his headphones, revealing a dynamic world hidden beneath the seemingly quiet ground.
Ecologists have long known that soil is home to vast biodiversity. In just a single cup of dirt, researchers have counted up to 100 million life forms, ranging from tiny bacteria to larger insects and earthworms. These underground creatures play a vital role in cycling nutrients and supporting life on Earth.
Now, in a relatively new scientific field, known as soil bioacoustics, a growing number of biologists are collecting underground noises to open a window into this complex and mysterious world. They’ve found that something as simple as a metal nail pushed into the dirt can become a sort of listening post if equipped with the right sensors. The acoustic data helps scientists answer fundamental questions, like how creatures communicate or when plants grow their roots.
Beyond basic research, underground acoustics could also help us take better care of the environment and detect pests (害虫) like root-feeding insects, which cause billions of dollars in damage annually. By identifying the distinctive sounds of these pests, scientists hope to develop more eco-friendly strategies that reduce the need for widespread chemical use.
However, scientists are also recording less welcome sounds: human-made noises, such as construction or traffic, are detectable underground. More concerning is the finding that in intensively farmed areas, the natural sounds of soil life are fading, indicating a worrying decline in biodiversity. To help more people realize what we’re in danger of losing, Maeder has started a citizen science project that lends people in Switzerland acoustic sensors to listen for underground activities themselves. The recordings are being gathered into a national library of soil sounds with the hope of raising awareness. Demand so far is high, Maeder says. “The sensors are always booked.”
What is the main focus of soil bioacoustics?
A.Studying underground life. B.Tracking plant growth.
C.Monitoring noise pollution. D.Capturing natural sounds.
What is a practical application of soil bioacoustics according to the text?
A.Boosting farm output. B.Enabling targeted pest control.
C.Improving traditional farming. D.Eliminating the need for chemical use.
What does the high demand for sensors in Maeder’s project suggest?
A.Public interest in soil ecology. B.Severe decline in soil health.
C.Easy access to monitoring tools. D.Need to increase project funding.
What can be a suitable title for the text?
A.Why Soil Is No Longer Silent? B.Uncovering an Underground World
C.How Human Noise Affects Biodiversity? D.Listening to the Hidden Sounds of Soil

根据第三段“Now, in a relatively new scientific field, known as soil bioacoustics, a growing number of biologists are collecting underground noises to open a window into this complex and mysterious world. They’ve found that something as simple as a metal nail pushed into the dirt can become a sort of listening post if equipped with the right sensors. The acoustic data helps scientists answer fundamental questions, like how creatures communicate or when plants grow their roots.(如今,在一个相对较新的科学领域——土壤生物声学中,越来越多的生物学家正在收集地下的声音,以此打开一扇通往这个复杂而神秘世界的窗户。他们发现,只需将一枚简单的金属钉插入泥土中,并配备合适的传感器,它就能成为一个监听点。声学数据帮助科学家回答基本问题,例如生物如何交流,或者植物何时生长根系)”可知,土壤生物声学的主要研究重点是地下生命。
33.细节理解题。根据第四段“Beyond basic research, underground acoustics could also help us take better care of the environment and detect pests (害虫) like root-feeding insects, which cause billions of dollars in damage annually. By identifying the distinctive sounds of these pests, scientists hope to develop more eco-friendly strategies that reduce the need for widespread chemical use.(除了基础研究,地下声学还可以帮助我们更好地保护环境,并检测害虫,如每年造成数十亿美元损失的食根昆虫。通过识别这些害虫的独特声音,科学家希望开发更环保的策略,减少对广泛使用化学品的需求)”可知,土壤生物声学的一个实际应用是实现有针对性的害虫控制。
34.推理判断题。根据最后一段“To help more people realize what we’re in danger of losing, Maeder has started a citizen science project that lends people in Switzerland acoustic sensors to listen for underground activities themselves. The recordings are being gathered into a national library of soil sounds with the hope of raising awareness. Demand so far is high, Maeder says. “The sensors are always booked.” (为了帮助更多人意识到我们面临失去的东西,Maeder启动了一个公民科学项目,向瑞士民众借出声学传感器,让他们自己倾听地下活动。这些录音正在被收集到一个国家土壤声音库中,希望提高人们的意识。Maeder说,到目前为止需求量很高。“传感器总是被预订一空。”)”可推知,传感器的高需求表明公众对土壤生态学的兴趣。
35.主旨大意题。通读全文,结合第一段“When acoustic (声音的) ecologist Marcus Maeder first placed a listening device in the soil, he was unprepared for what he heard. All sorts of strange sounds flooded his headphones, revealing a dynamic world hidden beneath the seemingly quiet ground. (当声学生态学家Marcus Maeder第一次将听音设备放入土壤中时,他对所听到的声音毫无准备。各种奇怪的声音涌入他的耳机,揭示了一个隐藏在看似安静的地面之下的动态世界)”和第三段“Now, in a relatively new scientific field, known as soil bioacoustics, a growing number of biologists are collecting underground noises to open a window into this complex and mysterious world. (如今,在一个相对较新的科学领域——土壤生物声学中,越来越多的生物学家正在收集地下的声音,以此打开一扇通往这个复杂而神秘世界的窗户)”可知,文章主要介绍了科学家通过倾听土壤中的声音来研究地下生物世界。故D项“Listening to the Hidden Sounds of Soil (倾听土壤隐藏的声音)”能概括文章内容,最适合作文章标题。
(本题12.5分)After hours of cooking and arranging the table, your goal is simple: to create an unforgettable dining experience for your guests. But success isn’t just about fresh ingredients or cooking skills.
Colour’s influence starts with the first glance. 37(2.5分) The brain processes colour information and links it to taste, making us judge the same dish as delicious, average, or unappealing. So, making the food visually attractive is key, as guests will assume it tastes as good as it looks.
For picky eaters, bowl colour is crucial. 38(2.5分) They often find meals in red or blue bowls saltier than in white ones. A red bowl can also make them hesitant to try new dishes, and they might even refuse food if the bowl’s colour doesn’t suit them. Choosing the right tableware colour is top priority here.
White plates are usually a safe choice, but avoid them with pale foods, which will look tasteless. They work well with vibrant dishes like salads or roasted meats, making the food’s colours stand out. For desserts, white plates enhance sweetness and flavor intensity.
39(2.5分) Black plates, for example, can make food seem saltier and larger in portion. This means dark tableware needs careful consideration of the dish’s flavor and portion size. On the contrary, bright plates add creativity and highlight less colorful foods but can go wrong. 40(2.5分) matching the plate’s colour too closely to the food can make portions seem smaller, as everything blends.
Understanding colour psychology lets you turn a simple meal into a memorable experience — all through smart tableware choices. It allows you to guide your guests’ perceptions subtly, ensuring that each dish not only tastes wonderful but also feels perfectly suited to the moment.
A.Dark plates have more varied effects.
B.They prefer simple tableware without any patterns.
C.The wrong bright shade makes food look artificial.
D.That initial visual impression brings about a chain reaction.
E.Using the wrong colour can ruin the overall dining mood.
F.Their reactions to tableware colours are often more sensitive.
G.The colour of tableware like plates, shapes how guests feel about the food.

40.根据上文“On the contrary, bright plates add creativity and highlight less colorful foods but can go wrong. (相反,亮色盘子能增添创意,突出颜色较淡的食物,但也可能出错。)”以及下文“matching the plate’s colour too closely to the food can make portions seem smaller, as everything blends.

Standing at the highest point for miles around, Jean was at great risk of being hit by lightning. She gave up the original plan of going back along the fixed trail (小径) and chose to climb down the steep and icy mountain slope carefully, believing in her climbing experience and skills.
Unluckily, during one difficult part on the way, Jean suddenly slipped and fell more than 100 feet down the rocky mountain. She was lucky enough to stay alive after the fall, but she suffered serious injuries, with many broken bones and terrible body pain.
Worse still, because of the extreme weather, there was no signal on her mobile phone, which made it totally impossible for her to call anyone for help. Jean had no choice but to walk slowly through deep snow all the way back to the starting trailhead. Throughout the journey back, Jean suffered continuously from great pain. When she finally walked with difficulty into a parking lot, Jean immediately fell down to the ground. It had been exactly one day since she fell down from the mountain. Her clothes were all covered with blood, and she was too tired to hold on, nearly passing out on the spot.
Just then, a car pulled in. A man was driving, with his wife in the passenger seat.

Seeing Jean’s condition, the man jumped out to help. Shocked by her terrible state, the couple didn’t hesitate to offer assistance. They gently lifted Jean up and laid her on the back seat of the car, covering her with a warm blanket to keep her from freezing in the cold weather. The man drove at top speed towards the nearest hospital while his wife comforted Jean softly, trying to keep her awake. Thanks to their timely rescue, Jean was sent to the emergency room and received professional treatment immediately.
As soon as Jean left the hospital, she managed to get the couple’s address. She prepared a delicate thank-you gift and paid a visit to them sincerely. Jean expressed her heartfelt gratitude repeatedly, saying that she could never have survived the terrible accident without their selfless help. The couple smiled and told her that it was just what anyone would do. This unforgettable experience not only saved Jean’s life, but also made her believe deeply in the warmth and kindness of strangers.

D.Human effort can overcome natural forces.
What is Jia Mingxuan’s future plan?
A.To further improve his invention.
B.To join a research group in Shanghai.
C.To win more awards in afforestation.
D.To create more tools for water collection.
D.River Connectivity: A Key to Riverine Life
(本题10分)When acoustic (声音的) ecologist Marcus Maeder first placed a listening device in the soil, he was unprepared for what he heard.
