二、阅读理解
(本题7.5分)Building and maintaining healthy relationships is a key part of a happy and successful life. Whether at school, in the workplace, or in the community, good interpersonal skills help us connect with others. Here are some practical tips to enhance your social abilities.
Start with a Simple Gesture
Many people feel shy about starting a conversation. You don’t need to say something perfect. A friendly smile, a warm greeting, or a simple compliment (赞美) can open the door. Being the first to say “hello” shows confidence and makes others feel comfortable.
Find Common Ground
Shared interests are the foundation of strong connections. When you talk to someone, try to discover what you both enjoy — be it sports, music, books, or movies. Discussing common topics makes conversations flow more naturally and helps build a bond.
Listen Actively
Good communication is more about listening than talking. Show genuine interest in what others say. Maintain eye contact, nod, and ask follow-up questions. This makes people feel valued and understood, which deepens your relationship.
Handle Conflicts Wisely
Disagreements are normal. When they happen, stay calm and respectful. Express your feelings honestly without blaming the other person. Try to see the situation from their perspective and work together to find a solution. A wise resolution can sometimes make a relationship even stronger.
By practicing these skills, you can build a wide and supportive social network. Remember, positive relationships require effort, but the rewards are truly valuable.
21.(2.5分)What is the advice for starting a conversation?
A.Prepare a well-organized speech. B.Use a simple and friendly gesture.
C.Wait patiently for others to talk first. D.Start with fun and meaningful topics.
22.(2.5分)Why is finding common ground helpful?
A.It helps to build a relationship. B.It makes you win an argument.
C.It shows you are knowledgeable. D.It allows you to talk more.
23.(2.5分)How should we deal with conflicts?
A.Try to avoid them in a wise way. B.Stay calm and talk it out respectfully.
C.Express your anger clearly and directly. D.Ask a third person to decide properly.
(本题10分)My first day in high school will never be forgotten. When I got to the classroom in the morning, I saw that Mr. Brown had already put our names on our tables. After walking a few steps, I saw my name on the table right in the middle of the classroom. As I walked up to my table, my heart sang. “It would be great to sit there. I could see everything easily,” I thought to myself.
A while later, the other students entered one by one and took their own seats. And then Mr. Brown started talking. He showed us his classroom rules and tried to explain them. All of a sudden, a student called Tony started singing loudly. All the while he moved his body to the music. His desk mate Josh couldn’t understand why he was doing these things. Then he stood up and talked to Mr. Brown, “I don’t want to sit with this strange guy. Can I swap seats with someone else in this room, please?”
Mr. Brown didn’t answer his question directly. He stopped what he was doing and turned on his computer. Then he showed us some pictures about autistic (患自闭症的) kids. He explained that autistic kids have little self-control. They seem to do things that are beyond everyone else’s understanding. However, they can do many other great things, in the field of art or music for example. Then he told us that Tony was not good at maths, but loved songs. “He can sing thousands of songs. What’s more surprising is that he can remember all the words without any mistakes.” In the end, Mr. Brown added that although autistic kids were different, they should be loved.
Since that first day in high school, I became Mr. Brown’s admirer (崇拜者). I was pretty sure Mr. Brown would get all of us on the right track.
24.(2.5分)How did the author feel when seeing his table?
A.Annoyed. B.Upset.
C.Excited. D.Unhappy.
25.(2.5分)What did Mr. Brown do in the class first?

B.He showed some pictures.

A.He acted politely.
B.He was understanding.
C.He knew music very well.
D.He had a mathematical mind.
27.(2.5分)What does the author think of Mr. Brown?
A.He is off the right track.
B.He has too many admirers.
C.He is a great teacher.
D.He is too different to be loved.
(本题10分)First impressions can be harsh. One mistake, and you might feel like you’ll forever be seen as an idiot in someone’s eyes. However, I believe reality is kinder than that.
Making a first impression is like trying to keep a door open with your foot. Many encounters with strangers are short and quick and may never happen again. Sometimes that can be a blessing: If the person you meet doesn’t care to remember you, you’ll quickly fade into the crowd of strangers in their mind, avoiding any negative or lasting impression. Other times, it can be disappointing — imagine striking up a conversation with someone interesting only to part ways before exchanging contact information.
To avoid being forgotten, you need to do something memorable — but not something foolish. Make an impression by asking an insightful question or making someone laugh. This means taking risks and avoiding bland (乏味的) small talk; if that’s not what you offer, you’ll likely be pushed to the back of their memory, unlikely to be remembered again.
But what if you messed up your first impression? And one day you see them looking at you, recalling the time you embarrassed yourself, and they’re walking toward you thinking, “I know you from somewhere …”
In that case, your second impression needs to be better. In my 19 years of making first impressions — some not so great — I’ve found that people will give you a second chance if you give them something to care about. Just because you messed up the first time doesn’t mean you should withdraw and stop being interesting. You should try harder: Listen well, ask relevant questions, smile often, tell a joke, and share what you care about.
None of this is a guaranteed “How to Make People Like You” guide, by the way. I’m not even sure if any of this works. But people seem to like talking to me, so maybe some of it does work.
Anyway, if this is your first impression of me, I hope it’s been a good one.
28.(2.5分)What are first impressions like according to paragraph 2?
A.Casual and interesting. B.Brief and temporary. C.Important and lasting. D.Negative and unstable.
29.(2.5分)How can you make a memorable first impression according to the author?
A.By engaging in small talk. B.By avoiding risky behavior.
C.By demonstrating insight or humor. D.By sharing your personal experiences.
30.(2.5分)What does the author recommend doing if you mess up your first impression?
A.Apologizing immediately. B.Avoiding seeing the person again.
C.Forgetting about the encounter. D.Making a better second impression.
31.(2.5分)What tone does the author take when discussing the effectiveness of the advice?
A.Cold. B.Playful. C.Serious. D.Convincing.
(本题10分)You walk into a clothing store and spot a leather coat marked $1,800. You immediately label it extremely pricey and move on. Later that day, you find an identical coat on sale for $650, and you instantly think you have found an incredible steal. What you may not realize is that your judgment has been misled by the anchoring bias (锚定偏见).
The anchoring bias was first identified by psychologists Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky in their research on intuitive (直觉的) reasoning. It describes the human tendency to rely heavily on the first piece of information we encounter — called an anchor — and evaluate every subsequent detail against that fixed reference point.
Consider bargaining for a second-hand vehicle. If a seller opens with a high asking price, that number becomes your mental anchor. Even if you negotiate the price far lower, you will still view the final deal as a win compared to the original figure, ignoring the car’s true market value. The opposite holds true: A surprisingly low initial offer causes the seller to undervalue their own property. This trap does not only appear in shopping; it influences salary negotiations, exam score judgments, and even predictions about global statistics.
The bias exists because human brains naturally conserve mental energy. Recalculating value requires heavy cognitive (认知的) effort, so we automatically lean on the first available reference point rather than conducting fully independent analysis. When we are setting plans or making estimates about something, we interpret newer information from the reference point of our anchor instead of seeing it objectively. This can affect our judgment and prevent us from updating our plans or predictions as much as we should.
Avoiding the anchoring bias entirely isn’t possible, given its widespread impact and how powerful it is. Like all cognitive biases, the anchoring bias is subconscious, meaning it’s difficult to interrupt. Yet one evidence-based and straightforward strategy to fight against the anchoring bias is to come up with reasons why that anchor is inappropriate for the situation. Meanwhile, considering multiple options is always a good idea to aid in decision-making.
32.(2.5分)What do the underlined words “an incredible steal” in paragraph 1 mean?
A.A real bargain. B.A free item. C.An identical product. D.An unexpected gift.
33.(2.5分)Why is the second-hand vehicle deal mentioned in paragraph 3?
A.To explain a rule. B.To present a fact.
C.To illustrate a concept. D.To make a comparison.
34.(2.5分)What is the cause of the anchoring bias?
A.Reference point loss. B.Independent analysis.
C.Brain’s energy-saving nature. D.Brain’s heavy burden.
35.(2.5分)What is a good way to deal with the anchoring bias?
A.Ignoring its reasons. B.Weighing various choices.
C.Seeking its impacts. D.Interrupting subconscious thoughts.
(本题12.5分)Here are some budgeting tips that will help us make more informed decisions about our money — and our life.
Don’t budget just because we think we should. If we’re budgeting just because we think that’s what responsible grown-ups do, that’s not motivational. 36(2.5分) . Then we have a reason to say no to that $50 dinner, because we have something to say yes to now.
Follow the 50-30-20 method. When we get started, try the 50-30-20 method. The largest part, 50%, of take-home income should go toward basic living expenses — housing, groceries, etc. Then 30% is for optional expenses for such things as entertainment and clothes. 37(2.5分) .
Use the power of scarcity. With credit cards, we’ve gotten really used to the idea that we never really run out of money. But having a sense of scarcity can be helpful when we’re trying to save. Remember back when we were kids and all we had was that $5 from babysitting or doing housework? 38(2.5分) . So try to assign a certain amount of money for each budgeting category every month, and when we run out, it’s out.
39(2.5分) . It’s unlikely that we’ll reach our budget goal just by cutting back on coffees. Housing, food and transportation are usually the biggest expenses. If we get a roommate or move to a cheaper place, we can save a lot of money. 40(2.5分) . But they can help us save so much money.
A.Stay away from costly habits
B.They’re hard decisions, obviously
C.A roommate is worth a hundred coffees
D.The rest should go for savings or paying debt
E.Usually, 20% is a huge amount to be put aside each month
F.Instead, set a specific and meaningful goal, like saving for a vacation
G.We were very careful about how to spend that money because once we did, it was gone

In a new school filled with unfamiliar faces, Charlie felt like a fish out of water. The lively chatter of students around him only fueled his loneliness. Every day, he walked through the hallways feeling invisible and trapped in uncertainty. To escape this loneliness, Charlie turned to video games, where he became a hero battling monsters and saving kingdoms. In this digital world, he felt powerful and important, unlike his quiet life at school.
Ms. Rita, his literature teacher, noticed the quiet boy at the back of the classroom, often lost in his thoughts. She had a gift for connecting with her students, always offering kind words or warm smiles. Although she encouraged Charlie to share his feelings, he hid his struggles, preferring the company of imaginary friends in his games, where he found the appreciation that was missing in his real life.
Recently, Charlie became hooked on a new game. One Sunday evening, he immersed himself in its colorful world, ignoring his mother’s reminders to sleep. Excited by his adventures, he remained awake, thinking about strategies, which left him anxious and tired for school.
The next day, unable to resist the temptation, Charlie secretly packed his gaming machine in his backpack. In Ms. Rita’s class, his heart raced, not from the lesson on poetry, but from the thought of playing during breaks. While other students engaged in discussions about finding something valuable in life, Charlie’s mind was focused on the game hidden in his bag.
When the discussion opened up, he took the chance to peek at his gaming machine. As he powered it on, the screen flashed with new quests, and he lost track of his surroundings. Unfortunately, just as he was concentrating, the gaming machine slipped from his hands and crashed to the floor with a loud sound. Silence enveloped the classroom, and all eyes turned towards him, the weight of anxiety and tension heavy in the air.

C.Keeping the goals private.
【答案】17.B 18.A 19.B 20.A
【原文】
To stay committed to your goals, try these strategies, Forbes, a Stanford professor, suggests starting with small, manageable habits. For example, practice an instrument for 30 seconds a day, or wash your hands before meals. These actions, though small, are more effective than goals like eating healthy food or getting fit, which can be hard to achieve without specific steps.
Another tip is to track your progress with a Scorecard. This could mean recording how far you run or how much time you spend studying a language. Besides, he advises keeping your goals to yourself. Announcing them implies a sense of completion. It might mean that you’re less likely to follow through. However, Victor, a New York University professor, opposed that. He thought you should tell your friends or family members. He added that having social support helps people achieve difficult goals. You could ask friends to remind you when you achieve a goal, you should throw a party to celebrate it with them.

根据第二段“Making a first impression is like trying to keep a door open with your foot. Many encounters with strangers are short and quick and may never happen again. (留下第一印象,就好比用脚抵住一扇门不让它关上。与陌生人的许多相遇都短暂仓促,且或许此生不会再见。)”可知,第一印象是短暂且临时的。故选B项。
29.细节理解题。根据第三段“To avoid being forgotten, you need to do something memorable — but not something foolish. Make an impression by asking an insightful question or making someone laugh. (想要不被人遗忘,你需要做出令人印象深刻的举动,但绝不能是荒唐愚蠢的行为。你可以提出一个有深度的问题,或是逗他人发笑,以此留下好印象。)”可知,作者建议靠展现见解或是幽默感来留下难忘的第一印象。故选C项。
30.细节理解题。根据第四段“But what if you messed up your first impression? And one day you see them looking at you, recalling the time you embarrassed yourself, and they’re walking toward you thinking, “I know you from somewhere …”(可万一你搞砸了自己的第一印象该怎么办呢?某天你看见对方正望着你,回想起你当初出糗的模样,他们朝你走来,心里想着:“我好像在哪见过你……”)”和第五段“In that case, your second impression needs to be better.(既然如此,你需要打造一个更好的第二印象。)”可知,若是第一印象搞砸了,作者建议去营造更好的第二印象。故选D项。
31.推理判断题。根据第六段“None of this is a guaranteed “How to Make People Like You” guide, by the way. I’m not even sure if any of this works.(顺便说一下,这些都不是能保证让别人喜欢你的万能法则,我甚至不确定这些方法是否管用。)”可知,作者对自身建议的效果语气轻松随意,带着诙谐调侃的口吻。故选B项。
【答案】32.A 33.C 34.C 35.B
【导语】主要介绍心理学中的锚定偏见概念、生活表现、形成原因,以及人们可以采取的应对方法与改进策略。
【详解】32.词句猜测题。根据第一段中的“You immediately label it extremely pricey and move on. Later that day, you find an identical coat on sale for $650, and you instantly think you have found an incredible steal.(你立刻认为它极其昂贵并转身离开。当天晚些时候,你发现一件一模一样的外套售价650美元,你立刻觉得自己捡到了天大的便宜。)”可知,对比一千八百美元的原价,六百五十美元的同款外套价格十分优惠,因此“an incredible steal”指代物美价廉的划算交易。
33.推理判断题。根据第三段中的“If a seller opens with a high asking price, that number becomes your mental anchor. Even if you negotiate the price far lower, you will still view the final deal as a win compared to the original figure, ignoring the car’s true market value.(如果卖家以高价开价,这个数字就会成为你的心理锚点。即便你把价格谈低了很多,相较于最初的价格,你依旧会认为最终交易很划算,忽略了汽车真实的市场价值。)”可知,作者列举二手车议价的例子,是为了具体阐释锚定偏见这一抽象概念。
34.细节理解题。根据第四段中的“The bias exists because human brains naturally conserve mental energy. Recalculating value requires heavy cognitive (认知的) effort, so we automatically lean on the first available reference point rather than conducting fully independent analysis.(这种偏见之所以存在,是因为人类大脑会本能节省脑力。重新估算价值需要耗费大量认知精力,因此我们会下意识依靠最先出现的参照标准,而非开展完全独立的分析。)”可知,锚定偏见产生的根源是大脑节省脑力的本能特性。
35.细节理解题。根据第五段中的“Yet one evidence-based and straightforward strategy to fight against the anchoring bias is to come up with reasons why that anchor is inappropriate for the situation. Meanwhile, considering multiple options is always a good idea to aid in decision-making.(然而,一种有据可依且简单直接的对抗锚定偏见的策略是,找出该锚定值不适用于当下情形的各类理由。与此同时,多考量几种备选方案始终是助力决策的好办法。)”可知,权衡、考量多种选择是应对锚定偏见的有效方式。
【答案】36.F 37.D 38.G 39.C 40.B

38.根据上文“Remember back when we were kids and all we had was that $5 from babysitting or doing housework?(还记得小时候我们只有靠帮人看孩子或做家务挣来的那5美元吗?)”可知,此处承接童年花钱的感受,呼应资金稀缺要珍惜,G选项“We were very careful about how to spend that money because once we did, it was gone.(我们花钱格外谨慎,因为花完就没有了)”贴合语境,衔接自然。
39.根据后文“It’s unlikely that we’ll reach our budget goal just by cutting back on coffees. Housing, food and transportation are usually the biggest expenses.(只少喝咖啡省不下多少钱,住房、伙食、交通才是大额开销)”可知,本段建议从大额开支入手省钱,C选项“A roommate is worth a hundred coffees.(找一个合租室友,胜过省下百杯咖啡的钱)”贴合段落核心观点,统领全段。
40.根据上文“If we get a roommate or move to a cheaper place, we can save a lot of money.(合租、换便宜住处能省下一大笔钱)”以及后文“But they can help us save so much money.(但这些做法能省下很多钱)”可知,此处形成转折,说明这些做法并不容易,B选项“They’re hard decisions, obviously.(显然,这些都是很难做出的决定)”构成转折逻辑,符合语境。

Dear Chris,
I’m writing to share with you an experience last week.
On Friday afternoon, I was playing table tennis in the school gym when I noticed a few students struggling with their game. I offered to help them, and we started practicing together. One of them suggested we form a small team for a friendly match. That’s how I met my new friends, Tom, Lucy, and Mike.
What impressed me most was that although we were all beginners, we encouraged each other and had a great time. This experience has taught me the value of reaching out and connecting with others, which I believe will make my high school life more enjoyable.
Yours,
Li Hua

六、书面表达
67.(本题25分)阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
注意:
1.续写词数应为150个左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】One possible version:
Paragraph 1
However, Ms. Rita picked up the fallen gaming machine with her usual warm smile. Instead of blaming or criticizing Charlie, she playfully joked that he was the first student to uncover something really “valuable” from the poem they had just discussed. She urged the other students to work on their search for valuable things in life, adding that every perspective mattered. Her unexpected joke transformed the moment, and laughter erupted in the classroom, saving Charlie from embarrassment and easing his anxiety. In that instant, his heart began to lighten, feeling warmth instead of shame.Paragraph 2
Grateful while guilty, Charlie approached Ms. Rita’s office after school. He expressed his thanks for her forgiveness while admitting to his distraction during class. He recognized the need to balance his passion for gaming and study. Ms. Rita listened attentively, and returned his console with a smile. She encouraged him to join the school’s e-sports club, suggesting that combining his interest with social involvement help him connect with others. In that moment, Ms. Rita’s forgiveness and understanding melted his heart, inspiring him to embrace both his passion and the journey of building new friendships.
