We can see it everywhere in our daily life. Solar Power Solar power comes from sunlight, and we use it a lot in daily life. Many families install（安装） solar water heaters（热水器）to get hot water for bathing, washing clothes and cleaning. Some buildings put solar panels（太阳能板） on their rooftops—these panels make electricity to light up classrooms, street lights. Wind Power Wind power uses moving wind, and it’s very useful for our life. We can see tall wind turbines（风力涡轮机） on mountains, grasslands or near the sea. When the wind blows, the turbine wheels spin to make electricity. This electricity powers lights, TVs and other household appliances. Hydropower Hydropower uses running water. People build dams（大坝）on rivers. When water flows down from the dams, it turns machines to make electricity. Biofuel（生物燃料） Biofuel is made from plants, food waste and other natural things, and it’s used in our daily life. Some buses and cars use biofuel instead of gas to run, which is cleaner. It also helps reduce（减少）rubbish because we can make it from food waste. Geothermal Energy（地热能） Geothermal energy comes from the Earth’s inner heat(内部热量), and we use it in many ways. In cold winter, some families use geothermal energy to warm their houses. However, there are some limitations（限制）to using geothermal energy. It is mainly used in areas near plate boundaries（板块边界）, such as Iceland and parts of the United States, so many places cannot use it easily.
