Two students on a stage held opposite ends of a long board, while at the center of the board, two others cut onions as quickly as they could, with one boy’s skillful knife work earning him a warm round of applause.
Soon, these four students, as well as many others sitting in rows near the stage, were reaching for tissues to wipe away tears. “My students, why do they tear up when cutting onions? Do you know what this common phenomenon is called?” After the lively demonstration, Hu Yongxiang, a physics teacher at Third Middle School of Hongsibu district, in Wuzhong, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, introduced the concept of thermal motion, which was the key focus of the day’s lesson.
Hu’s classes are known for transforming abstract physics concepts into attractive experiments and interesting games, helping to cultivate his students with great enthusiasm for learning physics. “His classes are fun and lively. These experiments are impressed on our minds — so we don’t just memorize, but learn to apply principles,” said Wang Tao, one of Hu’s students.
Beyond the classroom, Hu has also brought his interesting experiments to online platforms. He has created many short videos of his physics experiments, which have gained millions of views. “I hope my experiments can inspire more students to love science,” Hu said.
He has also designed a series of creative teaching tools, such as a pegboard for showing force and pressure, and a stainless steel roller coaster to explain energy exchange. “I want to make physics visible and tangible for my students,” he added.
Hu’s innovative teaching methods have not only improved students’ academic performance but also stirred up their curiosity and creativity. Many of his students have developed a strong interest in science and have taken an active part in various science competitions.
4. Why does the author describe the onion-cutting scene at the beginning?
A. To introduce the topic vividly. B. To show a classroom experiment.
C. To fully highlight students’ skills. D. To explain a physical phenomenon.
5. What can be inferred from Wang Tao’s words?
A. He finds physics easy to learn. B. He is a top student in physics.
C. He likes taking Hu’s online class. D. He gets inspired from the class.
6. What is special about Hu Yongxiang’s teaching method?
A. He uses online platforms. B. He makes theories observable.
C. He focuses on exam scores. D. He asks students to memorize.
7. Which of the following best describes Hu Yongxiang as a teacher?
A. Strict and ambitious. B. Experienced and traditional.
C. Creative and inspiring. D. Patient and entertaining.

In early 2026, a folk-pop song titled I Know, You’re Not Mine topped Sweden’s Spotify chart, gaining over five million streams in just weeks. Yet despite its popularity, it was banned from the country’s official music rankings. The reason lay in a growing controversy: the song was largely created using AI. This raised a key question — should AI-generated music compete equally with works produced by human artists?
The track, performed by an artist known as Jacub, tells a sad story of lost love, accompanied by a soft acoustic (原声的) guitar. Lines such as “Your steps in the night, I hear them go” won listeners’ hearts. However, journalists soon noticed that Jacub had no interviews, social media presence or tour dates, which are typical of a human artist. Investigative reporter Emanuel Karlsten found that the song was registered to executives connected to a Danish firm, including members of its AI department, suggesting that Jacub might be a digital creation.
In response, the producers, calling themselves Team Jacub, insisted that their work had been misunderstood. “We are not an anonymous (匿名的) tech company that just ‘pressed a button’,” they wrote. They described AI as a “tool” within a “human-controlled creative process”, arguing that real emotions and experiences shaped the music. When asked whether Jacub was real, they replied, “That depends on how you define the term.”
Sweden’s music industry body, IFPI, remained unconvinced. Its head, Ludvig Werner, stated, “If it is a song that is mainly AI-generated, it does not have the right to be on the top list.” While some platforms allow AI-generated tracks if they meet streaming standards, others have banned them entirely.
AI-generated music is forecast to explode in the coming years. As the needle drops on a new era of digital music creation, the controversy in Sweden over Jacub suggests that for now at least it is human musicians, not machines, who still have the final say.
8. What is the author’s purpose in writing paragraph 1?
A. To publicize a popular Swedish folk song. B. To introduce a conflict in music industry.
C. To explain the standards of Spotify charts. D. To praise the creativity of AI technology.
9. Why did journalists doubt Jacub’s identity?
A. He had no real-life signs as a normal artist.
B. He registered the song to a Danish music firm.
C. He failed to respond to public interviews.
D. He admitted using AI in an investigative report.
10. How did Team Jacub defend their use of AI?
A. By emphasizing the final product’s popularity.
B. By seeking to define what a real artist can be.
C. By stressing human input behind the technology.
D. By comparing AI to other complex tech tools.
11. What can be inferred about the music industry from the last paragraph?
A. AI will soon dominate the music market. B. Digital creations will lose their appeal.
C. The debate over AI music will disappear. D. Humans still remain the leading force.
D
For thousands of years, human beings have relied on seeds and farmland to grow food. Ploughing (犁地), also known as tilling, is the process of turning over soil to bury weeds, loosen the earth and bring fresh nutrients to the surface. But ploughing, particularly over long periods, can erode (侵蚀) the soil and make it less healthy. This is where conservation-focused farming methods, including no-till farming, come in.
Conventional farming involves sowing a crop into ploughed soil. Ploughing kills weeds that compete with crops for resources, such as water. It also buries weeds and dead plant material deep into the ground, where they are then broken down by bacteria and fungi.
But herbicides, which are chemicals sprayed (喷) to kill weeds, became much cheaper to buy from the mid-20th century. This allowed farmers to kill weeds without cultivating the soil. And it paved the way for the no-till farming movement.
Put simply, no-till farming is farming without disturbing the soil. It gained popularity in the 1950s and 1960s as more people learnt of its potential benefits. These include: limiting soil erosion, keeping soil moisture (水分), protecting the large holes in the soil, and reducing our reliance on machinery such as disc ploughs and rotary hoes, and the fossil fuels needed to operate them.
Supporters of no-till farming claim it boosts the amount of beneficial organisms and nutrients in the soil. They also say no-till farming improves water quality, reduces the risk of pests and diseases, and increases farmers’ income.
However, there is a darker side to no-till farming. No-till farmers must use much more chemicals to destroy weeds that would otherwise be killed by tilling. Research has linked these chemicals with higher rates of cancer, birth defects, infertility and other medical conditions. In addition, research shows soils that haven’t been ploughed contain about 5% less stored carbon than conventionally-farmed soils. Even if no-till farming is better for the environment, it may not produce the yields farmers need to earn an income. One international meta-analysis found farmers’ crop yields fell by about 5%, one to two years after switching from conventional to no-till practices.
12. What can we learn about ploughing?
A. It hardens the soil. B. It improves soil moisture.
C. It is conservation-focused. D. It is double-edged.
13. What is a result of no-till farming according to the text?
A. Fewer weeds. B. Poorer crop harvests.
C. More soil erosion. D. More stored carbon.
14. What is the author’s attitude to no-till farming?
A. Critical. B. Objective. C. Favourable. D. Uncaring.
15. What can be a suitable title for the text?
A. No-Till Farming: A Better Choice? B. Healthy Soil: The Key to More Produce
C. Modern Farming: Less Work, More Profit? D. Weed Control: A New Challenge for Farmers

Tom had just graduated from university when he took over his family’s long-established restaurant. His father, now in his seventies, had run the place for decades but never offered delivery — there wasn’t enough help, and he was too tired. Wanting to bring something new while keeping the old spirit, Tom started a free delivery service for the elderly and busy neighbours.
As he looked for delivery riders, one person came to mind: Mike, his deaf neighbour who stayed home making small crafts. Jobs were hard to find for Mike, and Tom knew he needed steady work. He went to Mike’s house and showed him a note: “Come work with me. Be my delivery rider. Good pay.” Mike read it, eyes wide, then nodded firmly.
The first day he worked, Mike checked each order twice before leaving. He’d already spent days studying the neighbourhood map and cycling around to learn the quickest routes. But problems came quickly. On his last delivery that evening, he knocked loudly on a customer’s door — trying to get attention without speaking. The resident complained about the noise and rudeness.
Later that week, while biking through the market, a hurried pedestrian stepped into his path. Mike fell, and the food spilled. Unable to explain, he rushed back for a new meal. By the time he arrived — nearly 40 minutes late — the customer was very angry. He refused the food and shouted at Mike, who could only stand there, silent and helpless.
That evening, Mike sat alone, head down, feeling he’d let Tom down. When Tom knew what happened, his heart sank — not with anger, but with guilt. He’d wanted to help, yet never truly thought about Mike’s challenges: the silence, the misunderstandings, the moments when being unable to speak left him defenseless. Tom knew he had to do more than offer a job — he needed to help Mike do well.

【答案】8. B 9. A 10. C 11.

【答案】12. D 13. B 14. B 15. A

根据第一段“For thousands of years, human beings have relied on seeds and farmland to grow food. Ploughing (犁地), also known as tilling, is the process of turning over soil to bury weeds, loosen the earth and bring fresh nutrients to the surface. But ploughing, particularly over long periods, can erode (侵蚀) the soil and make it less healthy. This is where conservation-focused farming methods, including no-till farming, come in.(数千年来,人类一直依靠种子和农田来种植食物。

Good morning, everyone.
As for the question of whether we can use AI in writing practice, I firmly hold the view that we should not rely too much on it.
For one thing, writing practice is designed to improve our own thinking abilities and language skills. If we depend on AI to finish writing tasks, we will lose the chance to exercise ourselves. For another, AI writing cannot show our true feelings and real ideas. Gradually, we may become lazy and lack independent thinking.
Therefore, we should practice writing on our own and treat AI only as a minor helper.

第二节(满分25分)
47. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】 He soon came up with a plan to help Mike. Tom prepared a set of small cards explaining Mike’s condition in simple, friendly language: “Hello! I’m Mike. I’m deaf and can’t speak, but I’m happy to be your delivery rider. Thank you for your patience.” He also set up a simple text system on Mike’s phone, allowing him to quickly send pre-written messages to customers with just a tap. That evening, he showed Mike how to use both, walking him through each step with patience. Mike practised handing over the card with a smile until it felt natural. The next day, Mike went back directly to the same door, determined to clear up the misunderstanding.
Mike took a deep breath and smiled as the angry customer opened his door. Before the man could react, Mike handed him the card with both hands. The customer frowned, glanced down, and read it slowly. Then his expression changed — first softening, then clouding with shame. He looked at Mike, who quickly showed the pre-written message on his phone, explaining the earlier accident. The man stood silent for a moment, then nodded, took the food, and gave Mike a sincere thumbs-up, mouthing a silent “Sorry — and thank you.” As Mike walked back to his bike, he looked down at the card and smiled to himself. This small piece of paper had given him something he thought he never had: a voice.
