One of the most famous museums in the world, the Louvre Museum in Paris (卢浮宫), was robbed (抢劫) recently. The theft happened at about 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 19 in the Apollo Gallery, where many royal treasures are shown.
Thieves used a truck with a lift to reach a balcony window, broke two glass cases, and stole eight pieces of jewellery (珠宝) worth around 688 million (over 100 million dollars). The whole process took just 7 minutes. One of the stolen items-a crown (王冠) with 1,354 diamonds and 56 emeralds (绿宝石) —was later found outside the museum. It seems the thieves dropped it while escaping!
Experts say museum thefts happen more often than people think. For example, the British Museum once lost more than 2,000 items, and one piece was found on eBay (易贝,线上购物网) for only £40, and it stayed there for many years before anyone noticed!
What surprised the public most about the Louvre case was that the thieves planned carefully but still left behind the most expensive diamond—the Regent Diamond (worth about 500 million dollars) in the same room. Some people found it hard to believe that the thieves didn’t take it.
In the art world, stolen artworks sometimes become more famous and valuable because of their stories. When a piece of jewellery is stolen and found again, its price can go up. After the robbery, a famous auction leader (拍卖师) asked the thieves to return the jewels because they are too famous to sell. Police are still looking for the thieves.

C. It has the most expensive diamond in the world.
D. It was robbed by the same thieves as the Louvre.
26. What did the Louvre theft case surprise the public most?
A. The jewels were not very valuable.
B. The thieves were caught on the same day.
C. The thieves left behind the Regent Diamond.
D. It happened in one of the most famous museums in the world.
27. What can we learn from the last paragraph?
A. Art theft cases are easy to solve. B. Many museum thefts make artworks less valuable.

① At the 15th China Airshow, a four-legged robot showed up and its special design and strong abilities surprised visitors from all over the world. This new kind of robots is created by China on its own and known as “robot wolves”.
②For the design idea, “robot wolves” come from real wolves in nature. Real wolves have sharp eyes. They also have fast movements and quick minds. However, what makes real wolves special is their teamwork when they hunt. According to that, CSIG (中国兵器装备集团公司) developed this new “iron fighter”.
③For key technology, robot wolves have small sensors, radars (雷达) and cameras on their heads. They can “see” everything nearby and collect information from the environment fast. Also, with four metal legs, they can move easily on rough land like mountains and broken buildings— places where traditional robots often can’t reach. Besides, they use AI to make its own choices and plan where to go—no human control is needed at all.
④ With the key technology, the robot wolves are famous for their use in the military (军队). Working together, they are able to make fights safer without wasting time or energy. When they act, each has a clear job:
• Reconnaissance (侦查) Wolves are the team’s “eyes”. Within 2, 000 meters, they can find goals, tell what the team needs to do, and send information back quickly.
• Attack Wolves are the “front-line” fighters. They move like snakes to find the best place to shoot, and use light guns to attack bad people.
• Transport and Support Wolves are the “logistics (后勤) helpers”. They follow the team and can help carry up to 20 kg of things.
⑤ In daily life, they can also help. After earthquakes or fires, they go into dangerous places to look for people or carry heavy things. What’s more, they can be teaching tools for AI and robot technology, helping teenagers get more interested in science. They help with science research as well— someday, they may help scientists explore other planets or the deep ocean.
⑥ By learning from nature and using new technology, robot wolves not only show how China’s robot technology is developing, but also how technology can help people and explore the world in amazing ways.
32. What gave CSIG the idea to make “robot wolves”?
A. The fast movements of the real wolves. B. The teamwork of the real wolves.
C. The quick minds of the real wolves. D. The sharp eyes of the real wolves.
33. According to paragraph 5, how are robot wolves used in daily life now?
① To search for people who are still alive after earthquakes.
②To transport daily vegetables and fruits to families.
③ To take part in planet exploration projects.
④ To serve as teaching tools for AI and robot technology.
A. ①② B. ②③ C. ①④ D. ③④
34. Which of the following would the writer most probably agree with?
A. Robot wolves show how China’s technology influences both military and daily life.
B. Robot wolves will take the place of human soldiers in the future.
C. Learning from nature is a useless way to develop technology.
D. Robot wolves won’t be able to work in difficult situations like in the deep ocean.

第Ⅱ卷(共50分)
Ⅵ. 任务型阅读。(65-66小题,每小题2分,67-68小题,每小题3分,共10分)
阅读下面短文,回答下列小题。
Some girls today love xiaoxianrou, or “little fresh meat”, which refers to young male stars who are delicate (精致的) and cute. Lin Bing just wants to be that man, so he has spent around 80,000 yuan on his face since his first plastic surgery (整形手术) four years ago. “Getting plastic surgeries is just as usual as bodybuilding. Both make men more handsome and confident,” says the 33-year-old young man.
Lin Bing is among a growing number of Chinese men using plastic surgeries to change their physical appearance (外貌) to increase their self-confidence. In 2024, the market for medical beauty in China was worth more than 695 billion yuan. Surprisingly, around 25 percent of customers were males, while this was only 5 percent in 2020, according to a report by plastic surgery social networking app Gengmei.
There is a rising trend (潮流) of young men turning to plastic surgeries; most male customers are in their teens or 20s. “Some men just want to please themselves, while others hope to improve their possibility in the job market,” says Wang Jun, vice-president of marketing for Gengmei. “Men are under the same social stress as women and their confidence and competitiveness would be more or less weakened by facial and body weaknesses.”
However, Fan Jufeng, director of the Plastic Surgery Department at Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, does not encourage people, no matter men or women, to “blindly” go under the knife. Fan points out that people should think about the risks of plastic surgeries first.
Fan also warned the public of the bad influences of live streaming celebrities (流量明星) who spread the misunderstanding—“Pretty goes above all else.” He advised that whether to have plastic surgeries should be based on personal needs. Fan says, “Think twice about it. After all, a rich and beautiful inner beauty is far more important than a pretty face.”
41. Are there more and more Chinese men using plastic surgeries?
_____________________________________________________________
42. According to Wang Jun, why do more and more young men turn to plastic surgeries?
_____________________________________________________________

When facing a hard exam, many students stay up late and work hard with lots of notes, but tired brains only bring anxiety and silly mistakes appear easily.
Lily, 15, used to study the whole unit after midnight, but her maths score still dropped to 67. One March evening she set her alarm for 25 minutes by accident; when it rang she stood up, stretched and sang her favorite song a little before sitting down again, and was surprised to find the next part of the text stuck in her mind right away. She then planned her revision in “study-sprint” parts: 25 minutes of careful work followed by 5 minutes of moving—stretching, climbing stairs or jumping rope at the back door. After four such parts, she took a longer 30-minute walk around the playground, letting the spring wind make her head clear.
This way, called structured breaks, is like small, planned stops that make the brain work again, just like restarting a frozen phone. Short rests help memory become better, last longer and lower the stress. Scientists at Stanford later put 200 students into two groups: one studied three hours without stopping, the other used structured breaks; after four weeks the break group’s average test scores went up by 20%, while the non-stop group had no improvement and even said they had more headaches.
People who don’t believe it still say breaks waste time, but the numbers show the opposite—rested brains solve problems faster and make fewer silly mistakes. Experts so give three important rules: set a clear timer to fix your break time, drink a glass of water, and move your body—climb stairs, jump rope or just stand up—to send oxygen (氧气) to the brain.
After doing these steps, Lily’s next maths paper went up to 91.
Staying up late can not make scores better. However, ______50______. Structured breaks mean taking active breaks between short study parts. With their help, the brain works again so that ______51______. Some people fear that rests are ______52______, but a study shows that the break group’s scores rose 20% while the non-stop group saw no gain. To get effective breaks, ______53______ are suggested by experts.
【答案】50. structured breaks improve learning/scores/grades
51. people can improve the memory and reduce/lower stress
52. a waste of time
53. three important rules/ timer, water and (body) movement
【解析】
【导语】本文主要介绍了短暂休息给学习带来的好处。

【51题详解】
根据“This way, called structured breaks, is like small, planned stops that make the brain work again, just like restarting a frozen phone. Short rests help memory become better, last longer and lower the stress.”可知,短暂的休息可以让记忆更好,记忆时间更持久并且降低压力。故填people can improve the memory and reduce/lower stress。
【52题详解】
根据“People who don’t believe it still say breaks waste time”可知,一些人觉得休息是浪费时间。故填a waste of time。
【53题详解】
根据“Experts so give three important rules: set a clear timer to fix your break time, drink a glass of water, and move your body—climb stairs, jump rope or just stand up—to send oxygen (氧气) to the brain.”可知,为了得到有效的休息,专家给出了三点建议——设置定时器、喝水和肢体运动。故填three important rules/ timer, water and (body) movement。

Dear Students,
I’m Li Ming. It’s my honor to introduce my favorite traditional art—paper cutting.
Paper cutting is popular in China. People usually use scissors to cut red paper into different shapes, like flowers or animals. They put them on windows during festivals. I love it for two reasons. First, it is a symbol of good luck and happiness. Second, learning it enriches my inner world and makes me feel peaceful.
Our school will hold the Chinese Traditional Culture Art Festival. It’s a great chance for us to inherit traditional Chinese culture. Let’s take an active part in it together!
Yours,
Li Ming

24. How did the thieves enter the museum?
A. By reaching a balcony window with a truck lift. B. By climbing the museum walls.
C. Through the main door. D. By using secret tunnels (隧道,通道).
25. What fact was mentioned about the British Museum?
A. Its guards helped the thieves escape.
B. It lost more than 2,000 items, and one was found on eBay.
C. Stolen famous artworks are hard to sell. D. The Louvre is the only museum ever robbed.
