专题03 阅读理解(记叙文) 主题语境01 人与社会-历史、社会与文化 (25-26高一上·福建莆田第二中学·期中)Speeding up and flying over a car while switching hands with a between-the-legs movement to throw the ball home, Chen Dengxing, aged 39 and standing 1.76 meters tall, made history by becoming the first athlete from China to win the dunk (扣篮) contest of the world’s biggest streetball competition in 2025. Chen showed athletic talent from childhood and trained in high jump and long jump in his school years. After graduating from college, he began working as a bank clerk. But his passion for dunk never died away. So in his spare time, he’d go to a nearby court for dunk practice. The turning point of his life came in 2011 at an amateur dunk contest, where Cha Tianyi, founder of China’s dunk team told him, “With your bounce and explosiveness, you don’t belong behind a bank counter.” Cha’s encouragement and guidance set him on the path to becoming a professional dunker. To improve his dunking skills, Chen collected highlight videos of top dunkers from around the world and studied them carefully. Erom the pace of the approach steps to the power of the takeoff, he analyzed every detail with precision — leaving no movement unexplored. He spent about four hours in training every day — two hours of strength training and two hours of dunk practice. Even when he was out attending other events, he carried a basketball and practiced. Now Chen has founded a dunk park which has quickly attracted many visitors who are eager to learn from him or simply witness his high-flying skills firsthand. “I will pass on my training methods and competition experience, so that the younger athletes can progress faster. My goal is to make more promising dunkers and help them step onto the international stage,” Chen said. 1.What is the first paragraph mainly about? A. Chen’s great achievement. B. The rules of the dunk contest. C. Chen’s physical appearance. D. The history of the dunk contest. 2.What does Chen’s career shift show? A. Risk-taking guarantees success. B. Opportunities favor prepared mind. C. Actions speak louder than words. D. Natural talent outweighs hard work. 3.Which of the following best describes Chen in his professional training? A. Generous and sincere. B. Focused and devoted. C. Determined and brave. D. Patient and ambitious. 4.Why did Chen set up a dunk park? A. To select coaches. B. To attract visitors. C. To support dunkers. D. To meet followers. A 2. B 3. B 4. 根据第一段中的“Speeding up and flying over a car while switching hands with a between-the-legs movement to throw the ball home, Chen Dengxing, aged 39 and standing 1.76 meters, made history by becoming the first athlete from China to win the dunk (扣篮) contest of the world’s biggest streetball competition in 2025.(39岁、身高1.76米的陈登星加速飞越一辆汽车,同时双手在腿间切换将球扣进篮筐,他创造了历史,成为2025年世界最大街球赛事扣篮大赛中首位夺冠的中国运动员。)” 故选A项。 根据第二段中的“ Chen showed athletic talent from childhood and trained in high jump and long jump in his school years. After graduating from college, he began working as a bank clerk. But his passion for dunk never died away. So in his spare time, he’d go to a nearby court for dunk practice.(陈登星从小就展现出运动天赋,上学期间曾练习跳高和跳远。大学毕业后,他开始担任银行职员。但他对扣篮的热情从未消退,因此在业余时间,他会去附近的球场练习扣篮。)”以及第三段中Cha Tianyi的鼓励让他走上职业扣篮道路可知,陈登星始终保持对扣篮的热爱与练习,做好了准备,才抓住了机会实现职业转型,体现“机会垂青有准备的人”。故选B项。 (3)题解析: 推理判断题。根据第四段中的“ To improve his dunking skills, Chen collected highlight videos of top dunkers from around the world and studied them carefully. Erom the pace of the approach steps to the power of the takeoff, he analyzed every detail with precision — leaving no movement unexplored. He spent about four hours in training every day — two hours of strength training and two hours of dunk practice. Even when he was out attending other events, he carried a basketball and practiced.(为了提升扣篮技巧,陈登星收集了世界各地顶级扣篮选手的精彩集锦视频,并仔细研究。从助跑的节奏到起跳的力量,他精准分析每一个细节,不放过任何一个动作。他每天花约四小时训练 —— 两小时力量训练,两小时扣篮练习。即便外出参加其他活动,他也会随身携带篮球,随时练习)”可知,他训练时专注细节、投入大量时间,“专注且投入”最能描述他。故选B项。 (4)题解析: 细节理解题。根据最后一段中的“I will pass on my training methods and competition experience, so that the younger athletes can progress faster. My goal is to make more promising dunkers and help them step onto the international stage(我会传授自己的训练方法和比赛经验,让年轻运动员进步更快。我的目标是培养更多有潜力的扣篮选手,帮助他们登上国际舞台。)”可知,陈登星创办扣篮公园是为了支持扣篮选手。故选C项。 主题语境02 人与自我-生活与学习 Passage 1 (25-26高一上·福建三明四校联考·期中)I’m an immigrant (移民) from China, and I found that in Quebec I had to learn French, which was a totally strange language to me. After waiting for half a month, I received a letter from my school, St-Luc, and began learning French in a welcome class, which is a class for new immigrants. Even though French was rather hard for me to speak and to understand, I began my secondary five studies the next year. The first few days were terrible, especially the first class of the first day. Although I had been in St-Luc for one year, I still didn’t know much about the school. The first problem that I had was finding my classroom. Luckily, I met a girl who was in my French class and my chemistry class. After the bell rang, the teacher, Mme Zarif, began her class. First, she introduced herself to everyone and then gave us the course outline (纲要) for the entire year. During her class, everyone laughed many times. Although I could only understand a little bit, I could tell that she was very funny. At the end of her speech, to make sure that we didn’t forget what we had learned in secondary four, Mme Zarif gave us a paper with many symbols of elements (元素) on it and asked us to write their names in French. I was shocked when I received the paper. Honestly, the only symbol I knew was O. After having stared at the paper for a few minutes, I gave up and raised my hand. The teacher came, and I told her that I didn’t know anything. “You have forgotten everything already?” She said in a surprised tone. “No,” I answered, “I have never learned them in French before. I am from the welcome class.” “Oh,” the teacher said with a look of understanding. “Come here after school. I will teach them to you.” I agreed. Finally, I handed in the paper with only one answer on it. On the whole, my first day of secondary five was a little embarrassing but, at the same time, interesting. 1.What’s the author’s first problem on his first day of secondary five? A. Finding his classroom. B. Introducing himself. C. Understanding French. D. Taking an exam. 2.What does the author think of Mme Zarif? A. Quiet. B. Energetic. C. Brave. D. Humorous. 3.Why did the author fail to finish writing chemical elements? A. He forgot to revise chemistry. B. He couldn’t write French at all. C. He didn’t concentrate on the lesson. D. He didn’t learn them in French. 4.What’s the best title of the text? A. A Welcome Class. B. My French Teacher. C. My First Chemistry Class. D. An Immigrant From China. A 2. D 3. D 4. 根据第二段“The first problem that I had was finding my classroom.(我遇到的第一个问题就是找不到我的教室)”可知,第一天作者遇到的第一个问题是找不到自己的教室。故选A。 根据第三段“During her class, everyone laughed many times. Although I could only understand a little bit, I could tell that she was very funny.(在她的课上,大家笑了很多次。尽管我只能听懂一小部分内容,但我能感觉到她非常有趣)”可知,作者认为扎里夫夫人幽默风趣。故选D。 (3)题解析: 细节理解题。根据倒数第二段“I have never learned them in French before.(我之前从未学过这些法语单词)”可知,作者未能完成《化学元素》的写作是因为他没有用法语学习这些内容。故选D。 (4)题解析: 主旨大意题。根据第二段“The first few days were terrible, especially the first class of the first day. Although I had been in St-Luc for one year, I still didn’t know much about the school. The first problem that I had was finding my classroom. Luckily, I met a girl who was in my French class and my chemistry class.(最初的几天简直糟糕透顶,尤其是第一天的第一节课。尽管我已经在圣卢克学校学习了一年,但我对这所学校还是知之甚少。我遇到的第一个问题就是找不到自己的教室。幸运的是,我遇到了一位和我同上法语课和化学课的同学)”结合文章中国移民作者在魁北克中五首日遇找教室难题,化学课上因未学过法语化学元素,最终获老师课后辅导,这一天尴尬却有趣。可知,C选项“我的第一堂化学课”最符合文章标题。故选C。 Passage 2 (25-26高一上·福建漳州第一中学-11月·期中)This year, I did something I’d never done — shopping at midnight on Black Friday after Thanksgiving. After all, you can get great deals online from the comfort of your bed over a hot cup of coffee. So why would I stand in traffic, cold weather, and crowds for a few bargains For my teenagers, spending time with Mum is usually down on their list next to homework and picking up the dog waste. So, when they asked me to take them shopping at the mall at midnight on Black Friday, my first reaction (反应) was surely no! But my son, who usually runs the other way if I mention shopping, wanted me to take him shopping. I felt needed, though I knew it was my wallet and a ride, not quality (高质量的) time with Mum that they wanted. Then the hour-long car ride. We followed songs on the radio and talked about the deals we hoped to get. I had chances to give them lessons on what not to do when driving, but I had to keep the peace. And we all connected as we sat with crazed smiles at midnight. The kids were excited once we finally reached the busy parking lot. There was something about standing in a line that snaked around the building in the freezing cold that brought people together. Once inside, we had to work as a team, hoping to come together with just the right size and colour. As I dug through mountains of clothing for a special shirt for my husband and gave up, my daughter came towards me, shirt in hand and victory on her face. “I got the last one!” So we ended up at 3 a.m. with some bargains. Nothing we couldn’t have found online or in stores at a reasonable hour. But for me, I got quality time with my kids. Driving home tired, looking in the mirror at my children’s sweet faces, I decided, “If they ask me to again next year, I’m in.” 1.What did the kids need to do according to the author? A. Buy things online with comfort. B. Take a cup of coffee comfortably. C. Shop with their mother’s money. D. Spend quality time with the family. 2.How did the author communicate with her kids during the drive to the mall? A. She shared their excitement. B. She taught them some songs. C. She taught them shopping tips. D. She gave them lessons on driving. 3.Why did the daughter show victory on her face? A. She had worked as a team member. B. She had searched out her clothes. C. She had been in line to see a snake. D. She had found a shirt for her father. 4.How did the author find her shopping experience? A. Tiring. B. Enjoyable. C. Heart-broken. D. Money-wasting. C 2. A 3. D 4. 根据第二段“So, when they asked me to take them shopping at the mall at midnight on Black Friday, my first reaction was surely no! But my son, who usually runs the other way if I mention shopping, wanted me to take him shopping. I felt needed, though I knew it was my wallet and a ride, not quality time with Mum that they wanted.(所以,当他们让我在黑色星期五午夜带他们去商场购物时,我的第一反应肯定是不!但我儿子想让我带他去购物,如果我提到购物,他通常会往另一边跑。我觉得他们需要我,虽然我知道他们想要的是我的钱包和一趟便车,而不是和妈妈共度美好时光)”可知,孩子们想让作者陪他们在感恩节之后的“黑色星期五”去购物,是因为孩子们需要的是用作者的钱去购物,故选C。 (2)题解析: 细节理解题。根据第三段中“We followed songs on the radio and talked about the deals we hoped to get.(我们跟着收音机里的歌曲哼唱,并谈论着我们希望买到的特价商品)”可知,在开车去商场的路上,作者和孩子们一起分享了对购物的兴奋之情。故选A。 根据第四段中“As I dug through mountains of clothing for a special shirt for my husband and gave up, my daughter came towards me, shirt in hand and victory on her face. “I got the last one!”(当我为了给丈夫找一件特别的衬衫而在成堆的衣服里翻找却放弃时,我的女儿拿着一件衬衫朝我走来,脸上带着胜利的表情。“我拿到最后一件了!”)”可知,女儿脸上露出胜利的表情是因为她为作者的丈夫找到了一件衬衫。故选D。 (4)题解析: 推理判断题。根据最后一段中“But for me, I got quality time with my kids.(但对我来说,我得到了与孩子们共处的宝贵时光)”以及“Driving home tired, looking in the mirror at my children’s sweet faces, I decided, “If they ask me to again next year, I’m in.”(疲惫地开车回家,看着镜子里孩子们可爱的脸庞,我决定,“如果他们明年再让我去,我一定去。”)” Passage 3 (25-26高一上·福建厦门第六中学·期中)As I grow up, our shelves were full of cookbooks, each full of my mum’s handwriting. Included in the handwriting were dates when recipes had been cooked, who they’d been cooked for, whether or not they were any good, and any alterations that had to be made (“too salty,” “double the recipe,” “didn’t have this, used that instead”). Where other forms of literature can feel rare, even precious to some, cookbooks permit this kind of writing. Truth be told, cookbooks I often go back to are obvious before you even turn to them—wrinkled paper, spotted and marked. I’ve halved the amount of sugar in a cake recipe from Rukmini Iyers’ The Green Roasting Tin. I’ve added a spicy mix to a carrot salad from Ruby Tandoh’s Flavour. For better or worse, the cookbooks I own are owned by nobody else. If you do this too, and feel guilty about writing through thoroughly tested recipes or messing up beautiful paper, you needn’t. The practice of writing on cookbooks is essential to the experience of reading, and indeed, using them. Often these notes can provide a window into the owner’s life, which is one of the reasons why cookbooks are often handed down within families. In many cases they are the only written records we have from our loved ones. I think that they are telling stories and inviting conversations. Implied in conversation is talking back, exchanging something with the loved ones, and maybe exchanging something with a version of yourself in the future. Sometimes I wonder what I’m buying when I buy cookbooks. Is it inspiration to do something I’ve not done before, or permission to give myself the time to feel addicted to a hobby? My friend Ella sums up her own insight into food writing simply with “writing about food is writing about being alive,” so maybe that’s what I’m buying, and what we all are. 1.What can we know about the author’s mom? A. She was a professional cook. B. She collected literature works. C. She often made notes on cookbooks. D. She wrote popular cookbooks. 2.What does the author think of the writing in cookbooks? A. It improves life quality. B. It carries future dreams. C. It helps comprehend its writer. D. It makes recipes easy to read. 3.Why does the author buy cookbooks? A. To record her life of cooking. B. To meet her hobby. C. To share ideas with friends. D. To gain cooking inspiration. 4.What is the best title of the text? A. Why We Need to Buy Cookbooks B. How We Adjust Recipes in Cookbooks C. Why We Should Be Writing in Cookbooks D. How We Pass Down Cookbooks with Notes 【答案】1. C 2. C 3. A 4. 根据第一段“As I grow up, our shelves were full of cookbooks, each full of my mum’s handwriting. Included in the handwriting were dates when recipes had been cooked, who they’d been cooked for, whether or not they were any good, and any alterations that had to be made (在我成长的过程中,我们的书架上满是烹饪书籍,每一本书上都写满了我妈妈的手迹。这些手迹里包含了食谱被烹饪的日期、为谁而做、是否美味,以及需要进行的任何修改)”可知,作者的妈妈经常在食谱上做笔记。故选C项。 (2)题解析: 细节理解题。根据第三段“The practice of writing on cookbooks is essential to the experience of reading, and indeed, using them. Often these notes can provide a window into the owner’s life, which is one of the reasons why cookbooks are often handed down within families. In many cases they are the only written records we have from our loved ones. I think that they are telling stories and inviting conversations.( 在烹饪书籍上书写的习惯对于阅读体验和实际使用它们而言至关重要。 根据最后一段“Sometimes I wonder what I’m buying when I buy cookbooks. Is it inspiration to do something I’ve not done before, or permission to give myself the time to feel addicted to a hobby? My friend Ella sums up her own insight into food writing simply with “writing about food is writing about being alive,” so maybe that’s what I’m buying, and what we all are.(有时候我会想,在购买烹饪书籍时我在买什么。是激发我尚未尝试过的事物的灵感,还是允许自己花时间沉迷于一项爱好的许可?我的朋友艾拉简单地总结了她对食物写作的见解:“写食物就是写活着”,也许那就是我和我们所有人要购买的东西) ”可知,作者赞同朋友的见解“写食物就是写活着”,因此推断作者购买食谱是为了在食谱上写笔记,记录获得尝试新事物的灵感或自己一些享受烹饪生活的美好时光。故选A项。 Passage 4 (25-26高一上·福建莆田第一中学·期中)The pupils in Paula Merrigan’s kindergarten (幼儿园) class often call her Mom, or sometimes even Grandma, partly because Merrigan ensures all the children are greeted with a big smile when they enter the classroom in the morning. She works with every single one of them one-on-one at some point during the day, and she’s generous with praise, hugs, and affection. “When small children tell you they love you, say it back to them,” said the teacher. “It’s important for every child to feel their teacher cares about them and that school is always a secure place to stay. When they know you truly care about them, they want to do their best for you, because they’re seeking your approval.” Merrigan also lets the children tell her their stories to learn what they’re passionate about. “When you learn about certain things they like and tie them to your topic, they love it,” she said. “Maybe the children told you that they really like dinosaurs so when you’re teaching the letter ‘D’, you create a dinosaur art project to go with it.” Given that separation anxiety hits many youngsters hard when they enter the kindergarten classroom, how children feel at the beginning of their schooling can set the tone for the rest of their academic life, experts say. “This is important for little ones because this is often the first time that they’re experiencing formal education,” said Hedy Chang, executive director of Attendance Works, a nonprofit working to boost student attendance. “What happens during this time can help lay the foundation for social and academic success.” Researchers found students of all ages who miss an excessive amount of school often suffer from mental issues. They may need to feel nurtured, experts say. “To the degree that parents keep kids home from school because the kids say they don’t want to go,” said Deborah Stipek, an expert from Stanford University, “children’s relationship with the teacher should be an important factor.” Merrigan, who herself remembers faking being sick a few times as a child, couldn’t agree more. 1.What is Merrigan’s class like? A. Warm, supportive, and engaging. B. Comfortable, quiet and test-score-driven. C. Loving and teacher-centered. D. Caring and focused on personal work. 2.Why does Merrigan listen to her students’ personal stories? A. To learn about children’s behavior patterns. B. To help with exact grading and assessments (评价). C. To easily manage possible classroom differences. D. To make her students more focused on her lessons. 3.What is the best title for the passage? A. Managing Parental Separation Anxiety. B. attendance and Academic (学业的) Achievement. C. Creative Kindergarten Teaching Methods. D. Developing Emotional Connections in Kindergartens. A 2. D 3. 根据第一段“The pupils in Paula Merrigan’s kindergarten (幼儿园) class often call her Mom, or sometimes even Grandma, partly because Merrigan ensures all the children are greeted with a big smile when they enter the classroom in the morning. She works with every single one of them one-on-one at some point during the day, and she’s generous with praise, hugs, and affection.(宝拉·梅里根(Paula Merrigan)幼儿园班级里的孩子们常常叫她妈妈,有时甚至叫她奶奶。部分原因是每天早上孩子们走进教室时,梅里根都会笑容满面地迎接他们。她在一天中的某个时候与他们中的每一个人一对一地工作,她慷慨地给予表扬、拥抱和关爱。)” 以及第三段 “Merrigan also lets the children tell her their stories to learn what they’re passionate about.(梅里根还让孩子们给她讲他们的故事,以了解他们热衷的事情)” 可知,她的课堂充满温暖、支持且互动性强。故选A。 根据第三段“Merrigan also lets the children tell her their stories to learn what they’ re passionate about. “When you learn about certain things they like and tie them to your topic, they love it,” she said.(梅里根还让孩子们给她讲他们的故事,以了解他们热衷的事情。她说:“当你了解到他们喜欢的某些东西,并将其与你的教学主题联系起来时,他们会很喜欢”)” 可知,梅里根听学生的个人故事是为了让学生更专注于她的课程。故选D。 (3)题解析: 主旨大意题。根据第一段“The pupils in Paula Merrigan’s kindergarten(幼儿园)class often call her Mom, or sometimes even Grandma, partly because Merrigan ensures all the children are greeted with a big smile when they enter the classroom in the morning. Weaver’s Leather Store has been open since 1925 and is still going strong. Their secret is just doing a good job for their customers. They always take time to listen to each customer’s needs and make sure they leave with the perfect fit. “We have shoes in every state,” Tim Weaver said. He is the third generation of Weavers who have made the shoe store their life’s dream. “We never had a website—just word of mouth and people coming in,” said Tim. The way the store runs has changed little from how Tim’s father, LeRoy Weaver, ran it since he took over the business from his own father, which sets it apart from other stores. The machines the family uses are from many years ago. One of them was probably built in the 1930s. Another thing that has given them an advantage is the stacked storage (堆叠式存储) of shoes. They probably have about 13,000 pairs of shoes. A salesman once told Tim, “You can never sell an empty shelf.” Therefore, they always make sure to keep the shelves full. The future of the store looks bright as the next generation prepares to step in. Colin Weaver, 26, and his brother Tanner, 29, plan to someday take over the store. Colin shared his journey, saying that while he was considering his choices during college, he finally realized, “Nothing else could bring me the same joy and purpose that the store does.” The family knows just how lucky they have been. In an age where technology and the Internet can make or break a company, this small shop has left a big footprint with not so much as an online ad. “Not too many people can say that. It’s an honor,” Tim said. “That’s what we’re here for—to keep the business going through generations.” 1.What is the key to Weaver’s Leather Store’s success? A. Good online marketing. B. Excellent customer service. C. A well-known salesman. D. A high-tech production line. 2.What is special about the store? A. It depends on different machines. B. It often changes its website design. C. It offers skill development programs. D. It sticks to a time-tested business model. 3.What does Colin’s realization during college mainly show? A. His respect for shoemakers. B. His enjoyment of college life. C. His love for the family business. D. His pressure from family expectations. 4.What would be the best title of this passage? A. The Next Generation Take over Family Business B. Century-old Shoe Shop Survive in Digital Age C. The Future of An Old-Fashioned Shoe Shop D. Technology Matters to Business Success 【答案】1. B 2. D 3. C 4. B 【解析】【导语】 这是一篇记叙文。文章主要介绍了位于美国爱荷华州的韦弗皮具店,这家拥有近百年历史的鞋店在数字化时代不使用互联网,依然通过优质客户服务、口口相传和坚持经得起时间考验的经营模式而取得成功。 (1)题解析: 细节理解题。根据文章第二段“Their secret is just doing a good job for their customers. They always take time to listen to each customer’s needs and make sure they leave with the perfect fit. (他们的秘诀就是为顾客提供优质服务。他们总是花时间倾听每一位顾客的需求,并确保他们买到完美合脚的鞋子。)”可知,这家店铺成功的关键在于提供出色的客户服务。故选B。 (2)题解析: 细节理解题。根据文章第三段“The way the store runs has changed little from how Tim’s father, LeRoy Weaver, ran it since he took over the business from his own father, which sets it apart from other stores. (这家商店的运营方式与蒂姆的父亲LeRoy Weaver从自己父亲手中接管生意后的运营方式相比,几乎没有什么变化,这使得它与其他商店截然不同。)”可知,这家店铺的特殊之处在于它坚持一个经得起时间考验的经营模式。故选D。 (3)题解析: 推理判断题。根据文章第五段“Colin shared his journey, saying that while he was considering his choices during college, he finally realized, “Nothing else could bring me the same joy and purpose that the store does.” (科林分享了自己的经历,他说,在大学期间权衡各种选择时,他最终意识到:“没有什么能像这家店一样,给我带来同样的快乐与使命感。”)”可知,Colin认为没有其他事情能像这家店一样带来同样的快乐和使命感,可推理出Colin在大学期间的这种认识主要体现了他对家族企业的热爱和认同。故选C。 (4)题解析: 主旨大意题。根据第一段“A 100-year-old shoe store in Iowa, America, is proving that there is a way to run a business in a small town even if you don’t use the Internet. (美国爱荷华州一家拥有百年历史的鞋店正在证明,即使你不使用互联网,也有办法在小镇上经营生意。)”、第二段“Their secret is just doing a good job for their customers. They always take time to listen to each customer’s needs and make sure they leave with the perfect fit. (他们的秘诀就是为顾客提供优质服务。他们总是花时间倾听每一位顾客的需求,并确保他们买到完美合脚的鞋子。)”以及最后一段“The family knows just how lucky they have been. In an age where technology and the Internet can make or break a company, this small shop has left a big footprint with not so much as an online ad. Passage 2 (25-26高一上·福建顺昌县第一中学·期中)Crowded by defenders, Charlie Villanueva, one hand lifting the ball high, jump toward the basket. For a moment, he seems to hang in the air. Then, he pushes the ball down through the basket — a slam dunk (扣篮)! His career may look like a slam dunk, being a national champion at the University of Connecticut, and setting beginner records with the Toronto Raptors. However, life wasn’t always easy for him. His success comes not only from his basketball skills but also from how he dealt with a skin disease called alopecia areata (斑秃), which isn’t infectious. It happens when the body’s immune system goes wrong and attacks its own hair-growing cells. Charlie was affected at age 10 and lost all his hair by age 12. This made him a target for bullying (欺凌), leading him to shut away from others and hide under caps and hoods. With the support of his mother, Charlie found refuge in basketball. He turned his depression and stress into motivation, improving his skills to the point where his gift became more important than his condition. The bullying stopped, and his basketball career took off. All along the way, Charlie has continuously applied himself to helping others. Ever since his first year as a new player, he has served as a spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, and went on to set up the Charlie Villanueva Foundation, an organization aimed at supporting families with children suffering from alopecia and stopping all forms of bullying. As the son of immigrants from the Dominican Republic, he has even worked towards ending poverty in that country. Charlie encourages young people to accept their individuality and have confidence in themselves. “We’re all unique in our own ways,” he says, encouraging them to remember that with dedication and self-belief, any dream is within reach. 1.Why is Charlie’s slam dunk mentioned in Paragraph 1? A. To compare him with other champions. B. To explain how a slam dunk is performed. C. To highlight his skills and achievements. D. To show a specific moment in a game. 2.What made Charlie avoid his classmates? A. An infectious skin disease. B. His being made fun of. C. An error in the immune system. D. His average ability to play basketball. 3.Which of the following best describes Charlie? A. Strong-willed and helpful. B. Strict and responsible. C. Warm-hearted and humorous. D. Independent and creative. 4.What message does the author want to express in the text? A. Luck often comes to those who are ready. B. Actions speak louder than words. C. A thousand -mile journey begins with the first step. D. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. 【答案】1. C 2. B 3. A 4. I shouted, holding a yellow sign up on a busy street in Seattle. We were three thousand miles away from home on a Random Acts of Kindness and Volunteerism Road Trip. We had two aims. One was to try out our new "Smile!" signs and see how much kindness and joy we could spread in Pike Place Market. The other was to raise $80 by doing street performances, enough for gas to Portland and a small hotel room. We weren't sure how people would react (回应) to our signs. I nervously raised up our signs and shouted, "Hi, there!" to a young couple. They looked over and felt confused. Then they read our signs and broke into a smile. Before long, some tourists wanted to take a photo with us and some strangers stopped to ask us about our signs. In fact, we paid so close attention to our "Smile!" project that we forgot the other aim. Before we knew it, the sun was setting, and we had no money for our trip to Portland. We sat down to watch a blind musician play the guitar while thinking about what to do. He was packing up when a passing crowd kicked down his change bowl. He stumbled (绊倒) into the crowd. We rushed to help him, but another man moved more quickly to help him. Once the musician had his money safely returned, we ran over to meet the strange helper and said, "We just wanted to praise you for your good deed." He smiled, looking at our signs. "Your trip reminds me of something similar I once did when I was young," he said. "Look! I'd like to donate (捐赠)." We told him, "No, thanks! We are fine. We've collected plenty of money." We lied. "Please let me donate. It will make me feel like I'm a part of this adventure," he insisted. And then the stranger opened his wallet and pulled out four $20 bills. The money was exactly what we had intended to raise that day. We were astonished. It seemed as if he had known somehow. 1.What's the main purpose of the road trip? A. To spread kindness and joy. B. To invite more people to join in the trip. C. To raise money for a trip to Portland. D. To encourage people to take happy photos. 2.How did people react to the "Smile!" signs later? A. Disappointed. B. Worried. C. Interested. D. Moved. 3.According to the last paragraph, why did the strange helper want to donate money? A. Because he felt pity for the author. B. Because he wanted to join in the project. C. Because he hoped to help the homeless. D. Because he felt sorry for his impoliteness. 4.What does the underlined word "astonished" in the last paragraph most probably mean? A. Tired. B. Satisfied. C. Frightened. D. Surprised. 【答案】1. A 2. C 3. B 4. D 【解析】 这是一篇记叙文,文章叙述了作者一行人在志愿者旅行活动中用“微笑!”标牌来传播善意和快乐,并搞了个募集活动。 (1)题解析: 推理判断题。根据第一段中的“We were three thousand miles away from home on a Random Acts of Kindness and Volunteerism Road Trip. Tim’s sister frequently had trouble getting a good night’s sleep as a child. “I saw the effects of poor sleep on her life,” he says. Many of his classmates complained about similar problems. When it was time to do a high-school research project, he decided to deal with “a real need in the world”. His solution — a huggable, co-sleeping robot — brought him a First Award in the Robotics and Intelligent Machines category at Barker College in Sydney, Australia. “Other robotic sleep aids exist. But until now, none could hug back,” Tim says. He started by building a monkey robot and went on to create a koala robot, too. Hugging the robot causes its arms to return the hugger’s hug thanks to the flexible, inflatable tubes (可充气管子) in the robot’s arms. A fiber outside the tubes works like a muscle. His machines do more than return hugs. The robot’s stomach gently rises and falls. “It’s quite comforting,” Tim says. The robot even tries to match its “breathing” rate to the hugger’s. How? A sensor (传感器) inside measures the CO₂ breathed out by the hugger. The robot then tries to mirror how fast the user is breathing. But that part proved tricky. After all, a bedroom fan might be enough to throw off the gas levels. So it’s not always going to be mirroring the user exactly. Therefore, a nice slow breathing rate is preset. Tim believes his robots might help people in other settings, too. Some people benefit from emotional support dogs, for example. But some places might not allow animals. In a super clean hospital, an animal may bring a risk to sick kids. “Being able to relax kids suffering from illnesses is quite a challenging thing,” Tim shares. “But my product could do it.” 1.What inspired Tim to design the robot? A. The widespread sleep trouble. B. His desire to win a robotics competition. C. The lack of robotic sleep aids in the market. D. His interest in studying breathing patterns. 2.What makes Tim’s robot special compared with others? A. Its equipment for removing CO2. B. Its soft and huggable material. C. Its ability to monitor the heart rate. D. Its function of responding to hugs. 3.What can we infer from the last paragraph? A. No animals are allowed in hospitals. B. Tim is confident about his robots’ future. C. Emotional support dogs are no longer popular. D. More improvement is needed for the hugging robots. 4.Which of the following words can best describe Tim? A. Responsible and flexible. B. Honest and hard-working. C. Creative and considerate. D. Humorous and strong-willed. 【答案】1. A 2. D 3. B 4. I didn’t want summer to end, but I was eager to go to high school for my first week. When I got to school on the morning of the first day, I realized how large the school was and how many students went there. I ended up in the wrong classroom because of the size of the school. And you need an iPhone.” This funny conversation two years ago marked a shift in our relationship. Perhaps for the first time, I began to really listen to my son’s opinion about our home technology. Since his reasoning was sensible and his suggestions within budget, I took his advice and was pleasantly surprised with the results. I’d known for a while that my son understands technology better than I do. On airplanes, he grabbed my phone to put it in airplane mode. He wired the speakers in our house. After something was stolen from our front yard, he picked out, set up, and now monitors our security camera. When my computer died, I took him shopping with me. As a teenager now, he has a busy social life, with skateboarding, basketball, and online gaming with his friends. I see our time together decreasing and our shared interests shrinking. That’s why I jumped at the chance when a friend mentioned writing technology reviews. I’m a writer, but I’d need a partner who has more tech knowledge than me. When I presented the idea to my teen, he immediately accepted It’s changed our relationship in surprising ways. Where he used to get annoyed quickly at my technical ignorance, he’s learned to be more patient and explain things to me in a way that I can convey to an unknowing audience. The parent-child dynamic is not only changed; it’s even slightly reversed — he’s leading me. I’m asking him for help and advice. My son has risen to the occasion. He’s taking it seriously, and to watch him mature in this way is an honor. As someone who’s not much of a reader, he now searches instruction book. Without any prompting, he’s even emailed and called, yes, made an actual phone call to customer service or tech support when sample products weren’t working as expected. I never imagined being a tech reviewer, but it’s proved to be a valuable way to learn from, work with and enjoy time with my teen. 1.What did the writer think of her son’s advice? A. It was unaffordable. B. It was beyond reach. C. It sounded reasonable. D. It sounded surprising. 2.What is mainly talked about in Paragraph 3? A. Prove her son’s better mastery of technology. B. Describe their close parent-child relationship. C. Give examples of her son’s interest in airplanes. D. Express her satisfaction of her son’s timely help. 3.Which is closest in meaning to the underlined word “reversed” in Paragraph 5? A. Unrealistic. B. Opposite. C. Negative. D. Common. 4.What makes the writer feel honored? A. Her son’s patience with their relationship. B. Her son’s attitudes to some unknown audiences. C. Her son’s growth and serious attitude to the work. D. Her son’s desire to change the parent-child dynamic. 【答案】1. C 2. A 3. B 4. Heather Sant, 36, was driving her white 2012 Mazda on the road with her nine-year-old daughter and ten-year-old son in the back. Suddenly, a red pickup truck cut them off. Sant turned the wheel hard to the right, sending the Mazda slide off the road and down an embankment(路堤) that ended in a drop-off after about 50 feet. If the car didn’t stop, it would take off and dive into the road some 20 feet below. Then a bit of luck: as the car raced toward the edge, its undercarriage got stuck, stopping it suddenly. The people inside, however, were far from safe. The car had come to rest on top of a retaining wall(护墙), balancing on the edge of disaster. One sudden move by anyone inside could throw the car off balance and send it over. Jacob Rodriguez watched everything in terror from the nearby truck company where he works. As an experienced sailor, just like every time he met shipwreck, he whispered a sailing saying “Ship, shipmates, self”, then immediately he and four other men ran to the car. They leaped onto the trunk(后备箱) to balance the weight as the terrified kids in the back seat watched. Meanwhile, Julio and his nephew Marco, were driving to their jobs at nearby Premier Automotive. Julio jumped out of the car to help while Marco went to the shop, grabbed a strong rope, and returned to the car. He tied the Mazda to an F-350 truck that had been driven over by one of the other rescuers. With the car secured, the group carefully opened the back doors and helped the children out. But their departure shifted the cars weight, causing it to tip forward. The men, still on the trunk, begged Sant to jump into the back seat. She did and then inched out of the back door. Finally, the men carefully got off the trunk. Everyone was safe. “Another foot,” Rodriguez told USA Today, “and this would be a different story. ” 1.What most probably caused the traffic accident? A. The Mazda was overloaded. B. Sant was really speeding. C. The wheel failed to work. D. The pickup cut in abruptly. 2.Why did the men ask Sant to move to the back seat? A. To open the back door of the car. B. To fasten the rope to the truck. C. To keep the balance of the car. D. To help the men get off the trunk. 3.What does Rodriguez want to stress in the last paragraph? A. The timely help offered by rescuers. B. The excellent cooperation of all the people. C. The dangerous position where the car stopped. D. The serious danger the rescuers faced. 4.Which of the following statements is consistent with the theme of the passage? A. Persistence will pay off. B. One in trouble, all to help. C. Many hands make light work. D. Doing is better than saying. 【答案】1. D 2. C 3. C 4. Lewis, 74, began working at the Dorset resort when he was 16. “It’s the best job in the world,” he said. “You’re working and helping people. What could be better?” His colleagues were just half his age. But he is still fighting fit. Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) lifeguards must complete a 400m pool swim in under 7.5 minutes. They have to do a 25m pool swim underwater and a 25-metre surface swim consecutively in under 50 seconds and run 200m along the beach in under 40 seconds. The tests are still reasonably comfortable for Lewis. All winter he has been doing 3,000 metres of sea swimming each month. Lewis’s adventure began in 1965 when a police officer spotted that he was a keen swimmer and suggested he get his lifesaving badges. The following year he began volunteering as a lifeguard at the age of 16. Then he became part of the RNLI lifeguards in 2001 and began providing beach patrols for local authorities. Now the RNLI patrols more than 240 beaches across the UK. Lewis laughed when asked if he had seen many changes. “The RNLI’s equipment in 2024 includes jetskis, rescue boats and quad bikes. When I started, we had a T-shirt, swimming trunks, a swimming hat, a coat if you were lucky and a rescue tube. It was really very different.” His most memorable rescue took place in 2010 when three children got into trouble while swimming. There was a combination of wind and a lively spring tide. One of them was being hurled into a rock with severe cuts. The other two were being “knocked around” by the waves. Lewis swam out just with a rescue tube but managed to get all three back. Over the years, he has performed hundreds of rescues. He says giving advice that prevents people getting into trouble is preferable to carrying out rescues. “I would love to go through the whole of summer without having to rescue anybody.” 1.Why is the training of RNLI mentioned? A. To explain the importance of swimming skills. B. To stress Lewis’s efforts and capacity. C. To show demands of being a safeguard. D. To describe the test process of fitness swimming 2.What made Lewis begin his life-saving career? A. His voluntary experience. B. His passion for swimming. C. An invitation from RNLI. D. A police officer’s suggestion. 3.What can be inferred from Lewis’s words in Paragraph 4? A. RNLI cares for the safety of lifeguards. B. RNLI currently needs more lifeguards. C. Lifeguard work was not easy in the past. D. The former lifeguards were more skilled. 4.Which of the following best describes Lewis? A. Devoted and caring. B. Selfless and honest. C. Determined and humorous. D. Generous and ambitious. 【答案】1. B 2. D 3. C 4. He says giving advice that prevents people getting into trouble is preferable to carrying out rescues. (多年来,他进行了数百次救援。他说,给出防止人们陷入困境的建议比进行救援更好。)”可知,Lewis非常热爱他的救生工作,致力于帮助他人,并且非常关心他人的安全。因此,用“Devoted and caring (全心全意且关爱他人)”来形容他最恰当。故选A项。 主题语境03 人与自然-自然生态 (25-26高一上·福建泉州四校联考·期中)I work with Volunteers for Wildlife, a rescue and education organization at Bailey Arboretum in Locust Valley. Trying to help injured, displaced or sick creatures can be heartbreaking; survival is never certain. However, when it works, it is simply beautiful. I got a rescue call from a woman in Muttontown. She had found a young owl(猫头鹰) on the ground. When I arrived, I saw a 2-to 3-week-old owl. It had already been placed in a carrier for safety. I examined the chick(雏鸟) and it seemed fine. If I could locate the nest, I might have been able to put it back, but no luck. My next work was to construct a nest and anchor it in a tree. The homeowner was very helpful. A wire basket was found. I put some pine branches into the basket to make this nest safe and comfortable. I placed the chick in the nest, and it quickly calmed down. Now all that was needed were the parents, but they were absent. I gave the homeowner a recording of the hunger screams of owl chicks. These advertise the presence of chicks to adults; they might also encourage our chick to start calling as well. I gave the owner as much information as possible and headed home to see what news the night might bring. A nervous night to be sure, but sometimes the spirits of nature smile on us all! The homeowner called to say that the parents had responded to the recordings. I drove over and saw the chick in the nest looking healthy and active. And it was accompanied in the nest by the greatest sight of all — LUNCH! The parents had done their duty and would probably continue to do so. 1.What is unavoidable in the author’s rescue work according to paragraph 1? A. Efforts made in vain. B. Getting injured in his work. C. Feeling uncertain about his future. D. Creatures forced out of their homes. 2.Why was the author called to Muttontown? A. To rescue a woman. B. To take care of a woman. C. To look at a baby owl. D. To cure a young owl. 3.What made the chick calm down? A. A new nest. B. Some food. C. A recording. D. Its parents. 4.How would the author feel about the outcome of the event? A. It’s unexpected. B. It’s beautiful. C. It’s humorous. D. It’s discouraging. A 2. C 3. A 4. Trying to help injured, displaced or sick creatures can be heartbreaking; survival is never certain. 故选A。 She had found a young owl(猫头鹰) on the ground. When I arrived, I saw a 2-to 3-week-old owl可知,有人给作者打电话是因为有只小猫头鹰掉在地上了,作者赶过去看看情况。 I placed the chick in the nest, and it quickly calmed down可知,在作者把小猫头鹰放在窝里之后,它很快就安静下来,所以是窝让小猫头鹰安静下来的。故选A。 However, when it works, it is simply beautiful. / 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 专题03 阅读理解(记叙文) 主题语境01 人与社会-历史、社会与文化 (25-26高一上·福建莆田第二中学·期中)Speeding up and flying over a car while switching hands with a between-the-legs movement to throw the ball home, Chen Dengxing, aged 39 and standing 1.76 meters tall, made history by becoming the first athlete from China to win the dunk (扣篮) contest of the world’s biggest streetball competition in 2025. A. Quiet. B. Energetic. C. Brave. D. Passage 2 (25-26高一上·福建漳州第一中学-11月·期中)This year, I did something I’d never done — shopping at midnight on Black Friday after Thanksgiving. Passage 3 (25-26高一上·福建厦门第六中学·期中)As I grow up, our shelves were full of cookbooks, each full of my mum’s handwriting. How We Pass Down Cookbooks with Notes Passage 4 (25-26高一上·福建莆田第一中学·期中)The pupils in Paula Merrigan’s kindergarten (幼儿园) class often call her Mom, or sometimes even Grandma, partly because Merrigan ensures all the children are greeted with a big smile when they enter the classroom in the morning. 主题语境01 人与社会-历史、社会与文化 Passage 1 (25-26高一上·福建福州第一中学·期中)A 100-year-old shoe store in Iowa, America, is proving that there is a way to run a business in a small town even if you don’t use the Internet. Technology Matters to Business Success Passage 2 (25-26高一上·福建顺昌县第一中学·期中)Crowded by defenders, Charlie Villanueva, one hand lifting the ball high, jump toward the basket. B. B. Worried. C. Interested. D. A. Tired. B. Satisfied. C. Frightened. D. Surprised. 主题语境04 人与自我-生活与学习 Passage 1 (25-26高一上·福建三明第一中学-11月·期中)The first week of September was a week that I had been expecting all summer. Passage 2 (25-26高一上·福建厦泉四地五校联考·期中)At the age of 16, Lasse Stolley from Germany went out for a change after graduation from junior high school. Little did he know that this change would take him farther than 500,000 kilometers — all on trains. Inspired by a movie he had watched online, Stolley bought a Bahncard 100, a ticket that allows unlimited (无限制的) travel on all Deutsche Bahn trains in Germany for a year. But Stolley didn’t just travel on those trains. He made his home on trains, living there full-time. During the day, he took trips and at night, he slept across the seats on high-speed trains. “I can decide every day where I want to go, whether to the Alps, to a big city or to the sea,” Stolley said. Each morning, Stolley would check the train connections for the day, and decide what journeys he would take based on the weather and his mood (心情). He might stop off at a swimming pool for a shower, or enjoy the views with a hike between train rides. While he didn’t pay rent, Stolley said that he had spent around 6,400 train pass and entry cost to things like swimming pools. But since Stolley was a “Platinum” Deutsche Bahn customer, he could eat from Deutsche Bahn for free. To cover his extra cost, he made a buck on the move by working as a programmer from his laptop In 2023 alone, Stolley spent over 3,700 hours on trains. Passage 3 (25-26高一上·福建莆田第一中学·期中)Two years ago, my 11-year-old son sat me down for a talk. “Mom, it’s time.” he said. “Hear me out: It’s time we got actual TV. A.
