下文提到“something was wrong with his mouth”,嘴巴有问题应是导致“说话”困难,speaking“说话”符合语境;walking“走路”与嘴巴问题无关。
year为单数,year’s和years’为所有格,均不能直接用于“for + 时间段”结构。
people为复数名词,表示“一群人”应用a group of people,a group of为固定短语,意为“一群……”。group和a group不能直接修饰people,group of缺少冠词,均不符合语法。
show interest in sth.“对某事表现出兴趣”,为固定搭配,介词应用in。of、to均不能与show interest构成固定搭配。
wonder后接宾语从句,宾语从句应用陈述语序,即“连接词 + 主语 + 谓语”,可排除where could they do和what could they do。下文“to help him”表明,人们想的是“能做些什么”来帮助他,what they could do“他们能做些什么”符合语境;where they could do表示“他们能在哪里做”,与语境不符。
主语It为第三人称单数,be动词应用was。

According to the traditional Chinese lunar calendar, there are seven leap months (闰月) every 19 years. In 2023, there were two Februaries, and in 2025, there were two Junes. There are some traditions and customs during the leap month in China, which are different from place to place.

Biomes (生物群落) are natural communities of plants and animals that live together in different places on the Earth. People have used these biomes for food, water and home for a very long time. However, some biomes begin to disappear. That is because people use too many of the things biomes provide.
Tropical rainforests (热带雨林) cover many areas near the Earth’s equator (赤道). Half of all the plants and animal groups in the world live in tropical rainforests. The plants in this biome may give us new medicines, so scientists often travel to tropical rainforests to study these plants. However, many people have cut down the trees. They use the rainforests for farmlands. Sadly, half of the world’s rainforests are now gone, and more are disappearing.
The freshwater (淡水) biome is a biome that all living things need. It gives people water to drink and wash with. Many animals also drink the water or live in it. However, people are using more and more freshwater in cities and on farms. Many rivers and lakes have very little water now.
Grasslands often have flowers, which are good for bees. These bees help plants to make new plants. Grassland plants also have deep roots (根). They keep the soil strong. However, people are turning many grasslands into farmlands. When people take too many things from biomes, animals and plants there start to disappear.
People need biomes for many reasons. It is important to protect them while using them. Luckily, people are working hard to protect biomes. Without biomes, many plants and animals would be difficult to survive.

Dear teachers and classmates,

In the past, I used to be very shy and depended on my parents a lot. However, the most important change for me is my personality. I have become brave and independent. What made this change happen was the school sports meeting last year. At first, I was afraid of failing. But my friends encouraged me to do sports every day. According to the traditional Chinese lunar calendar, there are seven leap months (闰月) every 19 years. In 2023, there were two Februaries, and in 2025, there were two Junes. There are some traditions and customs during the leap month in China, which are different from place to place.
In some parts of Henan Province in Central China, daughters will prepare wild goose-shaped pastries (雁形糕点) for their parents before the leap month comes, wishing them happiness and good luck. In some parts of Shandong Province in East China, there is a custom that married daughters should send dough-made fish (面鱼) to their parents. In Taiwan Province in Southeast China, married daughters will buy pig feet and thin noodles for their mothers.
In some places, people have the tradition of buying shoes for their parents to thank their parents for raising them, and wish them safe and healthy.
People living near Wuyi Mountain in East China’s Fujian Province have the tradition of drinking tea during the leap month. Everyone sits around, tasting Wuyi rock tea while chatting about daily life.

33. How many kinds of biomes are mentioned in the passage?
A. Two. B. Three. C. Four. D. Five.
34. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
