A
① On a clear night, if you look up at the sky for about 10 minutes, you may see a small point of light moving slowly among the stars. That is not a star—it is probably a satellite circling the Earth. Today, more than 9,000 man-made satellites are flying above our heads.
② Satellites are easy to understand. People send orders from the ground to the satellite. Solar panels on the satellite turn sunlight into electricity. By using this electricity, the satellite can talk to the Earth, take photos, or show us the weather from far away.
③ Satellites can finish hard and useful jobs in a fast and safe way.
④ After a big flood, satellites can fly over the clouds to find which villages are in danger. Driving there by car may take many hours, but a satellite gives the information within just a few minutes.
⑤ For farmers, satellites can show where the ground is too dry or where bugs are eating the crops. At night, satellites with special cameras can easily find a forest fire in the dark.
⑥ Satellites also help everyday life. For example, when you use a map on your phone to find the way to school, that map is made better by satellites. They also help coaches see where their players run during a football game.
⑦ In a word, satellites have been widely used in communication, weather forecasting, farming, rescue and more, with new uses on the way.
⑧ As satellites are cheaper, smaller and more helpful than before, they have become an important driving force for the growth of the space economy. Besides big groups like CNSA and ESA, more small companies have appeared. At the end of 2025, there were about 10,000 registered satellites around the world. The satellite industry is believed to be full of opportunities.
21.What is the purpose of Paragraph 1?
A.To tell a story. B.To lead into the subject.
C.To compare two stars. D.To introduce a festival.
22.How do satellites get electricity?
A.From the wind. B.From solar panels.
C.From the ground directly. D.From burning fuel.
23.What does the underlined word “rescue” in Paragraph 7 mean?
A.救援 B.训练 C.比赛 D.建造
24. Which shows the structure?
A.①/②/③④⑤/⑥⑦/⑧ B.①/②③④⑤/⑥/⑦⑧
C.①②/③④⑤⑥/⑦/⑧ D.①/②/③④⑤⑥/⑦/⑧
25.What can we infer from the passage?
A.Satellites are only for fun. B.Satellites make space economy grow.
C.Satellites are hard for common people to use. D.Satellites can only take photos.
B
① A telescope is like a big eye looking far into space. With it, scientists can see stars that are billions of years old. The newest space telescope, to be launched in 2027, can catch light that left its star before the Earth was born.
② Unlike ground telescopes, a space telescope does not have to look through clouds or city lights. It floats above the air, cold and quiet. Its mirror is made of gold, not because it is expensive, but because gold reflects infrared light very well.
③ The telescope works like this: first, light from a far galaxy hits the mirror. The mirror sends the light to a small camera. The camera changes the light into numbers. Then the numbers are sent to the Earth by radio. Scientists use computers to turn the numbers back into a picture.
④ One of the most surprising findings is water vapour around a planet far away. The planet is not too hot or too cold. Some scientists say it might rain there, but no one knows if anything lives in that rain. Another finding is a galaxy that looks like a wheel of fire, turning slowly in the dark.
⑤ Studying these pictures takes time. A single photo may need 100 hours of computer work. But each photo tells a story older than human beings. As one astronomer said, “We are not just looking at stars. We are reading letters from the past.”
26.Why is the new space telescope better than ground telescopes?
A.It is cheaper to build.
B.It avoids clouds and city lights.
C.It can be used by common people.
D.It does not need a mirror.
27.Why is the mirror made of gold?
A.Gold is beautiful.
B.Gold is light in weight.
C.Gold reflects infrared light well.
D.Gold costs less than glass.
28.Which shows the structure?
A.①/②/③④/⑤ B.①/②③④/⑤ C.①②/③/④⑤ D.①②/③④/⑤
29.What does the “wheel of fire” in Paragraph 4 refer to?
A.A far galaxy. B.A space telescope. C.A gold mirror. D.Water vapour.
30.What is the writer’s attitude to the telescope?
A.Doubtful. B.Amazed. C.Bored. D.Angry.
C

Third, learn to work as a team. Space missions are extremely complex and require the cooperation of many people. Astronauts must be able to communicate well and solve problems together. 34
Fourth, get flying experience. Many astronauts are former pilots. Flying experience helps develop the skills needed to handle difficult situations in space. 35
Finally, never give up on your dream. It takes years of training and hard work to become an astronaut. Only a few people are selected every year, but those who keep trying can make it.
A.Sports and exercise are important from a young age.
B.But only a very small number of people actually achieve it.
C.You don't need to learn math or science.
D.Some of the best astronauts started as airplane pilots.
E.Being good at these subjects is the first step.
F.Astronauts often come from different countries.
G.Teamwork skills can be developed through group activities and sports.

Life in a space station is very different from life on Earth.
Astronauts float (漂浮) in the station because there is no gravity (重力) .It feels 11 to be weightless. At first, many astronauts feel sick, but they soon get used to it. In space, astronauts can 12 easily by pushing against the walls. They have to tie (系住) themselves to beds when they 13 .
Food is also a problem. Most food is dried and packed, and water must be 14 carefully. Astronauts do 15 every day to keep their bodies strong, because muscles get weak in space. They also carry out many 16 to learn about space. A live class from the station is very 17 for students on Earth. They can ask questions and the astronauts will be 18 to them.

A
① On a clear night, if you look up at the sky for about 10 minutes, you may see a small point of light moving slowly among the stars.
A.Doubtful. B.Amazed. C.Bored. D.Angry.
