Recently, a school in Shenzhen introduced an “AI+Sports” program. AI coaches help students exercise more intelligently. Now, let's go with Sally to take a closer look.
(Sally walks over to Mr Yang on the playground and greets him.)
Sally: Good morning, Mr Yang. I’m Sally. Nice to meet you.
Mr Yang: Good morning, Sally. Nice to meet you, too.
Sally: We are all very interested in the “AI+Sports”program your school has introduced. Could I ask you a few questions about it?
Mr Yang: Of course. Please go ahead.
Sally: What brought about the idea of combining high-tech products with PE?
Mr Yang: Actually, our PE teachers used to have a hard time .With so many students in each class, there is a shortage of personal guidance. As a result, students do “fake practice”, and teachers don't have enough data to know about their real performance. So we really needed a tool like this for support.
Sally: That makes sense. Then what benefits do the AI coaches bring about?
Mr Yang: They help check whether students are doing the moves right. For example, we have used it for running and sit-ups. The system tracks how students move and tells them if they are doing it right. And the biggest benefit is that it will give quick tips on how to improve with ease.
Sally: So how do the students feel about the system?
Mr Yang: At first, the students felt uneasy. They thought, “Oh no,here comes an even stricter teacher watching us do sports. Now we can't be lazy.”
Sally: Haha. What happened next?
Mr Yang: Well, after some practice, the students started to see the benefits and be happy with it. To encourage them, we also used AI to create fun sports games. This further helped students change from being forced to exercise to taking part actively. Now PE classes have special attraction for them.
Sally: That sounds great! Thank you for sharing.
Mr Yang: You're welcome.

In modern times, most people try to sleep through the night, seeing continuous sleep as a natural part of daily life. 26 In fact, British people's sleeping habits have changed a lot over time.
Before the late 17th century, people in England typically went to bed around 9 p.m.and slept for only one or two hours 27 After that, they would go back to sleep again until the next morning.
The Industrial Revolution(工业革命)changed how people slept too 28 As a result, many people moved from the countryside to the cities to look for jobs. In the countryside, people used to wake up late. However, factory workers had to start their work early in the morning, so they often depended on “knocker-uppers” who were paid to wake workers by knocking on their doors or windows. 29 People didn't need knocker-uppers anymore.
In the 19th century, the light bulb(电灯泡) was invented. That changed everything! It brought about a great change in people's sleeping habits. 30 When they finally went to bed, they would sleep straight through until the next morning.
It's interesting how something as simple as sleeping has changed so much!
A.People began to get used to staying up late.
B.Then in the 1940s,alarm clocks became popular.
C.However, things were not always like this in history.
D.Then they would get up to do housework or something else.
