写作
第二节
To her horror, the basket was empty. Jane’s heart sank as she frantically searched the yard, her voice trembling with fear as she called Pip’s name. Tears welled up in her eyes as she imagined the worst, fearing that Pip might have been blown away by the storm or hurt by the falling branches. She knelt down, scanning the ground for any sign of the little sparrow, her hands shaking as she picked up twigs and leaves.
At this moment, Mr. Thompson appeared with Pip. He held the sparrow gently in his hands, his expression a mix of concern and embarrassment. “I found him hiding under my porch,” he said, his voice softer than usual. “The storm was too strong for him.” Jane rushed over, tears of relief streaming down her face as she took Pip back. She looked up at Mr. Thompson, her eyes shining with gratitude. “Thank you.” she whispered, her heart overflowing with joy and newfound respect for her neighbor.

Parents often go above and beyond to give their children a good life, with many of their efforts going unrecognized until their kids grow up. In the case of a man in China, the incident that reminded him of his mum’s deep devotion was when she hand-sewed a brand logo onto his bag as a teenager.
Mr Liu, who is now 22 years old, recounted the story on Douyin, instantly touching netizens’ hearts. Mr Liu asked his mum for a branded backpack when he was 14, after seeing his classmates carrying branded bags in school. However, his mother turned down his request, as their family business was struggling at the time. Instead, she took his plain red bag and hand-embroidered a logo on it.
After the holidays, Mr Liu noticed the logo on his bag and felt overjoyed, thinking it was incredibly beautiful. Unfortunately, his classmates teased him about it being a knock-off, so he deliberately damaged it before hiding it in his closet. “Back then, I was young and thought this bag was embarrassing. Looking back, I think it’s the most priceless treasure in the world,” he expressed.
Following his viral post, the brand commended Mr Liu’s mum for her sewing and offered to send her a gift.
Many people online said they were moved by his mum’s love, with some sharing their own big brands’ logos which had been embroidered by their mums or girlfriends. “This is a one-of-a-kind luxury item,” one online observer said. “This is the most beautiful logo I have ever seen,” said another. As kids, we often don’t appreciate the love and effort our mums put in until we grow up and realize what a privilege (荣幸) it is to have a loving mum.
Now living over a thousand kilometers apart, and with his mum unable to return home for four years due to costly airfares, Mr Liu cried that she seemed to look different each time he saw her. “Mum, your son is starting to earn money now and can help ease the family burden,” Mr Liu expressed. “I hope you can come home soon.”
24.Why did Mr Liu’s mum refuse to buy him the backpack he wanted?
A.The family couldn’t afford it at that time.
B.She wanted to make him a bag herself.
C.She didn’t like the brand.
D.Branded bags were unnecessary for students.
25.How did Mr Liu react when he first saw the embroidered logo?
A.He complained that it was fake. B.He considered it delicate.
C.He felt embarrassed by the design. D.He ignored it and used the bag as usual.
26.What can we infer from people’s comments online?
A.They criticized Mr Liu for hiding the bag. B.They were surprised that the brand responded.
C.They thought mother’s love is priceless. D.They questioned whether the story was true.
27.What does Mr Liu’s message to his mum mainly express?
A.Pride in his online fame.
B.Regret for damaging the bag.
C.Desire to buy her a real branded gift.
D.Gratitude and longing for reunion.

You’d be excused from thinking that life in a tropical forest is easy. A lazy arm movement is all that’s needed to secure the next mouthful of food. But it’s not like that at all. Life in the rainforest demands extraordinary adaptations. That’s why I found myself collecting the remnants (残留物) of the most recent meal of the endangered red-nosed cuxiu monkey for my recent study.
Cuxius are cat-sized animals, with canines bigger than human teeth, even though their skull is the size of an orange. Canines of the cuxiu are the real deal: designed for cracking open hard, unripe fruits to get at the equally unripe and hard seeds. Humans would need a hammer to crack open this kind of fruit. But cuxius and their near relations bite them open. Powered by massive muscles, the jaws can deliver a bite which, if scaled for size, is equal to that of a jaguar. They eat hundreds of rock-hard fruits a week, tens of thousands over their ten-year life span. So, I wanted to know: How do they avoid cracking their teeth along with the nuts?
Pick up a walnut (核桃) and you’ll notice a thin line running around the hard shell. This is the suture (缝线), and it’s where the shell would naturally break open to free the seed when it ripens. Fruits with sutures dominate the diet of the red-nosed cuxiu, so I wondered if this could be the key to the cuxiu’s success.
Measurements of the force needed for a copy of a cuxiu canine showed this was the case. It took up to 70% less force to go in at the suture than elsewhere on the fruits the cuxiu ate.
There’s the fact that every animal in the rainforest needs to be its own doctor, physiotherapist and fitness coach. Survival in the rainforest depends on alertness and clever survival strategies. An animal’s survival depends not only on knowing what to eat but how to eat it. Seconds count when a bite too many can mean missing the one key glance skywards that stops you from becoming someone else’s breakfast.
28.What can we know about the cuxius?
A.They can live for around ten years. B.They are equal to a jaguar in size.
C.They prefer eating soft and ripe fruits. D.They are similar to a cat in appearance.
29.What does the underlined phrase “the cuxiu’s success” in paragraph 3 refer to?
A.Finding enough walnuts to feed on. B.Understanding the function of fruit suture.
C.Consuming hard fruits without cracking teeth. D.Taking over the rainforest.
30.What can we infer about the rainforest animals?
A.They can serve as doctors to care for each other.
B.They have to stay highly alarmed during a meal.
C.They must value every second for food hunting.
D.They should eat smart for their health.
31.What is the best title for the text?
A.The Cuxius: the Master of Eating Hard Fruits
B.A Study on the Endangered Cuxius
C.Living in the Rainforest: Easy or Hard?
D.How Animals in the Rainforest Avoid Tooth Damage

Born in 1990 in Hebei province, Wang Haoze, China’s first female space flight engineer, grew up with a strong belief from her mother that “there is nothing a girl cannot do.” This has contributed a lot to her growth, shaping her character and fueling her ambition.
After earning her master’s degree from Southeast University, Wang joined the Beijing Aerospace Propulsion Institute in 2015, engaged in rocket engine pre-research. When China began the process to select its third group of astronauts in 2018, she seized the opportunity and applied. Transitioning from an engineer to an astronaut required not only technical knowledge and skills but also outstanding adaptability, physical fitness and mental resilience.
The training included exhausting physical conditioning, psychological training and space environment simulations. During centrifuge (离心机) tests, Wang endured forces six times her body weight, with her hands resting on a red button that could stop the machine at any moment. Not once did she press it. “I am the only woman among the country's third group of astronauts,” she says, “and I don’t think I should receive special treatment. I had the competence and confidence to compete with my other 17 teammates.”
After years of rigorous training, Wang was selected for the Shenzhou-19 mission. On October 29, 2024, she was introduced to the public. She spent 183 days in orbit, carrying out 86 scientific experiments, video- calling students from Bulgaria, and introducing an AI assistant named “Xiaohang” to help with daily tasks. On April 30,2025, she returned to Earth safely.
Reflecting on her journey, Wang said: “From being a rocket engine designer to a space engineer, my role has evolved, yet my unwavering commitment to serving my country through space exploration remains the same.” Her story is powerful evidence of what determination and hard work can achieve.
32.Why is Wang’s mother mentioned in paragraph 1?
A.To show the source of Wang's interest.
B.To emphasize family influence on Wang’s character.
C.To show off Wang's childhood.
D.To illustrate Wang's original dream.
33.What was Wang’s choice after earning her master’s degree?
A.To become a teacher. B.To work as a researcher.
C.To train as an astronaut. D.To further study abroad.
34.How can we describe Wang’s training as an astronaut?
A.Exhausting but fascinating. B.Painful and boring.
C.Challenging but rewarding. D.Competitive and dangerous.
35.Which of the following is TRUE about Wang’s Shenzhou-19 mission?
A.She spent more than 5 months in orbit.
B.She set a new record for the longest space stay.
C.She developed a new AI assistant called “Xiaohang”.
D.She lectured to students face to face.
第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Happiness is a loving family, a good meal, and a yearly income of $75, 000. According to a study, as people earn more money, their day-to-day happiness rises until their yearly income hits $75, 000. 36
The appeal is easy to see. The study provided a simple solution to a tricky life problem and, to people making less than $75, 000, offered a goal to struggle for. But like those other experiments, the popular perception of the research is wrong. 37 No. But it can improve happiness if you spend it thoughtfully.
38 These include your work, health, relationships, schedule, education, personality, life philosophy, and so on. If you’re secure, healthy, living in a good neighborhood, and enjoying an active social life, then the figure in your checkbook doesn’t weigh as much on your daily happiness. In other words, if you’re struggling, unhealthy, lonely, or living in an unsafe neighborhood, then your financial difficulty will likely worsen those challenges. Indeed, they are the cause of some of those struggles.
It is true that there is a strong connection between happiness and money. But it doesn’t mean that money can buy happiness. 39 It merely stands in for the things, services, and experiences we buy with it. So when it comes to discussing money and happiness, it’s not just about how much money you have. It also depends on how you use it.
Spend your money on the things, experiences, and necessities. 40 Otherwise, your spending habits can actively work against your well-being and life satisfaction. In a word, people with more money are happier isn’t just the size of their bank accounts —it’s how they use their money to generate happiness.
A.Can money buy happiness?
B.Money is a medium of exchange after all.
C.Are people happy without enough money?
D.Then your money will make your life happier.
E.At this point, their happiness tends to stabilize.
F.Happiness rose alongside income all the way up.
G.Happiness is a complex emotion influenced by many factors.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Jane had a deep affection for birds. Every morning, she scattered (抛撒) seeds in her backyard and whispered, “Good morning, my little friends!” To her, their songs sounded like cheerful laughter, and she often laughed along with them.
However, her neighbor, Mr. Thompson, didn’t share her joy. He was constantly annoyed by the birds that flew into his yard. “They’re too noisy!” he complained. “And they make such a mess in MY yard!” His sharp words made Jane feel quite uneasy, yet she refused to give up on her feathered friends. She firmly believed that every small creature deserved care.
One morning, Jane discovered a small sparrow (麻雀) shaking under the fence. One of its wings looked bent at a painful angle. Filled with worry, Jane carefully picked it up and named it Pip. She placed him in a small, warm basket in a safe corner right next to the fence.
A week passed. Pip was getting better but still unable to fly. One afternoon, while Jane was feeding Pip by the fence, Mr. Thompson shouted from his side, “You’re just asking for trouble!” Jane gently lifted Pip in her hands so Mr. Thompson could see him through the gaps in the fence. “Look, Mr. Thompson. Pip’s wing is hurt.” Mr. Thompson cast an impatient glance at the tiny creature. For a moment, his frown (皱眉) softened. “That wing...” he said softly, almost to himself.
Just then, Jane’s mother called her from the driveway, saying they were leaving for a family visit. Jane waved a quick goodbye to Pip and hurried to the car. However, on their way home, a heavy storm broke out. Watching the trees shaking in the strong wind, Jane felt very worried about Pip, who was left all alone in the yard. The moment they pulled into the driveway, she dashed toward the backyard, calling Pip’s name. 注意:
