My name is Teapot, and I’m sitting on a lovely shelf in the living room. My mum put me here but has never used me to pour tea. She says I’m different because I’m a Jellycat teapot.
About four weeks ago, I was sitting in Jellycat Cafe with my best friends—Teacup, Bear and Latte. Every day, we saw lots of people line up in our cafe. Most of them were adults and they looked like they were on top of the world when they picked up their own Jellycat.
One day, my mum came in and told the cashier (收银员) that she wanted a teapot. The cashier brought me out from under the counter (柜台). “This teapot has a very nice shine,” she said. “But this sweetie is fragile, so don’t let him hit hard things by accident, or he’ll get hurt.” Then I was carefully wrapped up in paper, just like all my friends here. Soon, Bear was also taken by a young lady. “He had secretly taken a bite of his cake,” the cashier told the customer. She then “put some more cream” on Bear’s cake.
After we got home, a friend of my mum’s told her that she had spent 1,000 yuan at our cafe. She thought it was worth every penny because we were so cute, and our cafe’s service was unique. But I think there’s a deeper reason: Every day, when my mum comes home late at night, she looks very tired. But every time she holds me in her arms, a smile lights up her face. Maybe this is the emotional support people talk about at the cafe.
19. Where was Teapot a month ago?
A. In a Cafe. B. In a toy factory. C. In a tea house. D. In a living room.
20. What does the underlined word “fragile” in paragraph 3 mean?
A. Really shiny. B. Fairly light. C. Highly valuable. D. Easily broken.
21. How does the Teapot possibly feel about his life?
A. Tired of sitting on the shelf. B. Worried about getting broken.
C. Willing to bring joy to his mum. D. Sad about being not used for tea.
22. What’s the passage mainly about?
A. A teapot’s journey to emotional comfort.
B. Customers’ views on the price of the teapot.
C. The Cafe’s unique service in attracting people.
D. The relationship between a teapot and its friends.

Have you found yourself listening to “ancient people” online recently? Creative vloggers are using AI technology to bring famous people from history like Tang Dynasty poets Li Bai and Du Fu “back to life”. These videos have become popular, showing these ancient icons speaking in modern language.
In one video, Du Fu talks about his experience during the An-Shi Rebellion (755-763). In another, Ming Dynasty medical expert Li Shizhen makes fun of modern lifestyles, like trying to be healthy by drinking goji berry (枸杞) water but still staying up late.
“The videos make me want to learn more about important ancient people. I didn’t know much about their stories before.” said Wang Jiayi, 15, from Shandong.
The new trend (趋势) isn’t for everyone, however. The way these ancient people speak, in high tones and always asking questions, annoys (使……恼怒) some people. “They’re too pushy, which is different from how they really were.” said 14-year-old Wang Shuotong from Jiangsu.
Xia Boen, 14, from Hubei, felt the same. But he was surprised to find that he “remembered almost everything they said about their experiences and achievements” thanks to the speaking style in the videos.
These videos use a more modern way to let ancient people “speak for themselves”. They also open up new possibilities for cultural exchanges. They can introduce China’s ancient wisdom to a global audience, helping to spread Chinese culture far and wide. However, we should be careful with these videos, making sure they are not sharing fake information.
23. How does the writer introduce the topic?
A. By telling a story. B. By showing a study.
C. By describing a problem. D. By asking a question.
24. What does Wang Jiayi think of the videos created by AI?
A. Helpful. B. Funny. C. Difficult. D. Annoying.
25. What is the writer’s attitude (态度) towards AI-created videos?
A. Strongly against. B. Support with warnings.
C. Strongly support. D. Against without reasons.
26. What may be the best title for the passage?
A. Ancient People in Modern China
B. The Use of AI in Historical Research
C. AI Brings Ancient People “Back to Life”
D. Creative Vloggers Make popular Videos

①Sunshine does make people happier. Imagine how cheerful you are when it clears up after long cold rainy days. Let’s discover the science behind sunlight.
②Sunlight causes you to produce a chemical called serotonin (血清素). When you are exposed to sunlight, your body will make more serotonin. Higher levels of serotonin will keep you in good spirits. At night, when there is little or no light, your body produces another chemical-melatonin (褪黑激素). It helps your body relax and will make you feel tired, which can prepare you for a good night’s sleep. You should keep a good balance between these two chemicals.
③However, for many people, it is hard to balance sunlight with darkness. People who stay indoors a lot may not get enough sunlight. The light in a house is usually about 100 times less than that outside on a sunny day. That’s why it is believed that those people should get outside in the sunshine. They can get some exercise, enjoy the fresh air and be happy, all at the same time.
④There are places where it gets dark for a long time in the winter. People in those places are easier to get seasonal affective disorder (SAD). People with SAD usually go through bad experiences such as low energy and sadness. One of the treatments for those people is to sit under bright artificial (人工的) lights for some time.
⑤The roles that sunshine plays in people’s lives are more than those above. For example, your body produces Vitamin D (维生素D) from sunlight, which is important for being healthy. In fact, there is more science about sunlight for you to discover. So next time, when you notice the sunshine on your shoulder, take a moment to think, “Why do we love sunshine?”
27. What does Paragraph ② mainly talk about?
A. What can help people to keep a good state.
B. How light influences people through chemicals.
C. Which chemical is thought to be more important.
D. When people can keep a good balance between chemicals.
28. Jack is a person with SAD. How could he solve his problem according to the text?
A. By staying indoors a lot. B. By taking more melatonin.
C. By doing more exercise. D. By using man-made lights.
29. Which of the following is an opinion (观点) according to the text?
A. There are places where it gets dark for a long time in the winter.
B. People who stay indoors a lot should get outside in the sunshine.
C. The light in a house is usually less than that outside on a sunny day.
D. People’s bodies produce something called Vitamin D from sunlight.
30. Why is the sentence “Why do we love sunshine?” written in the last paragraph?
A. To encourage readers to learn more about the sunlight.
B. To advise readers to spend enough time enjoying fresh air.
C. To expect readers to realize the importance of Vitamins.
D. To invite readers to walk into nature to enjoy the fresh air.

C. Strongly support. D. Against without reasons.

The light in a house is usually about 100 times less than that outside on a sunny day. That’s why it is believed that those people should get outside in the sunshine.
