Andrew: Welcome to today’s programme. A group of teenagers wanted to raise money for the local old people’s home. So, they held an online marathon. I’m here with one of them. Hello, Jane.
Jane: Hello, Andrew!
Andrew: So, what gave you this idea?
Jane: Well, we wanted to help out, but we had “money worries”. I mean, our pocket money was not enough. Then we thought about this new way of raising money. It’s easy for people to take part in, and many of us love running.
Andrew: Did you set a goal?
Jane: Yes, £20,000. But we did better! Thousands of people followed the marathon online and donated. We raised £51,000!
Andrew: Wow, that’s a lot.
Jane: Yes. That’s enough to fix the old buildings in the old people’s home.
Andrew: You are making a huge difference!
