Useful phrases: ask questions learn from mistakes stay curious teach others make a plan practise every day stay positive find what works for you 4b Work in groups. Compare your results and work out an average score for each method. being able to focus well believing in yourself having deep motivation not giving up reviewing lessons being well-organized taking notes studying with others reflecting on learning studying all the time Learning Methods Survey Learning method S1 S2 S3 Average Score 9 10 10 7 9 8 8 8 8 10 7 9 9 6 9 8 5 7 7 4 8 7 3 6 9 2 9 3 1 2 being able to focus well believing in yourself having deep motivation not giving up reviewing lessons being well-organized taking notes studying with others reflecting on learning studying all the time 9.7 8 8 8.7 8 6.7 6.3 5.3 6.7 2 Create a chart to show your group’s results. Display it and explain the results to the class. Below is an example. 4c studying all the time reflecting on learning studying with others taking notes being well-organized reviewing lessons not giving up having deep motivation believing in yourself being able to focus well Average Score 0 2 4 6 8 10 Display it. studying all the time studying with others taking notes being well-organized reflecting on learning believing in yourself having deep motivation reviewing lessons not giving up being able to focus well Average score 2.0 5.3 6.3 6.7 6.7 8.0 8.0 8.0 8.7 Explain the results to the class. Boys and girls, let’s take a look at this chart. It shows the results of our survey on different learning methods. First of all, being able to focus well wins the highest score of 9.7. That means most of us believe focus is the most important for learning. Next comes not giving up, scoring 8.7. Persistence really helps us make progress. Three ways share the same score of 8.0: believing in yourself, having deep motivation and reviewing lessons. They are also very valuable. Explain the results to the class. Then we have being well-organized and reflecting on learning, both at 6.7. After that is taking notes, with a score of 6.3. Studying with others gets 5.3. And here is an interesting point. Studying all the time has the lowest score, just 2.0. It tells us that studying for long hours does not always bring good results. From this survey, we can learn a key lesson: personal qualities such as focus and perseverance matter far more than simply spending all our time studying. 1. Which one is the highest? Why? 2. Which one is the lowest? Why? Answer the questions. The highest is "being able to focus well". It got 9.7. Because when you focus, you can understand and remember better. The lowest is "studying all the time". It got 2.0. Because studying too long makes you tired, and your brain stops working well. 3. What do you think of the results of this survey? Answer the questions. I think the results are good. They tell us: focus and never give up are very important. Don't study for hours without a rest. Take notes and study with friends are also useful, but not as important as focus. 1. What learning methods have you learnt? 2. Which learning methods do you think are good for you? 3. Can you use object clauses to express your opinions on learning? 4. Have you become more confident in learning? How so? Reflecting It is not just about what we need to learn, but how we learn. 提升作业 自主补充2条课本以外的高效学习方法。 拓展作业 制作一张英文海报,主题为How to Be a Better Learner,包含你认为最重要的3种学习方法和一句口号,下节课在班级展示。 Homework 基础作业 熟记4a 10条核心短语,英汉互译背诵。 Thanks Class is over! Bye! Unit 3 $
