Have you ever seen a robot making popcorn? In Shanghai, a worker named Chen Xin is teaching a robot how to finish this simple but interesting task. He wears a special headset (头戴式耳机) and uses a controller to guide the robot’s hands carefully. He is called a “robot teacher”. Besides robot teachers, there is another new job called an AI content (内容) creator. Chen Xiaoyu is one of them. He creates different videos and stories with the help of artificial intelligence. These new kinds of jobs are becoming more and more popular, and AI is greatly changing people’s working ways.
These new AI jobs have clear and special work duties. First, robot teachers teach robots to do different everyday tasks, such as wiping tables, sweeping floors and packing popcorn. This work is not easy. It requires plenty of practice and great patience to let robots work correctly. Second, AI content creators use AI technology to produce pictures, videos and stories. In the past, creating a movie scene usually took a long time and cost lots of money. But now, people can create beautiful scenes easily with simple words through AI tools.
However, AI still cannot take the place of human workers. As Chen Xiaoyu says, human creators play an important role in AI creation. Only humans have real thoughts and true feelings. They can create warm and meaningful works. AI is just a useful tool. It can only follow people’s orders and cannot think independently. This is why human workers are still necessary in the AI age.
In fact, AI industries and AI-related jobs are developing very fast in China. Over the past five years, China has created more than 20 new AI jobs, and each job can offer thousands of working chances. Now, China’s AI industry has become a huge market. More and more companies need workers with basic digital skills and enough patience. For teenagers who love technology and creation, AI jobs will be a wonderful choice in the future.

What do you want to be when you grow up? A study shows that more than 80% of children choose jobs they often see around them, like doctors and teachers—with teachers topping the list of kids’ dream jobs. But jobs such as cartoonists appear in less than 7% of their answers. We often overlook (忽视) jobs hidden outside our daily lives.
Choosing a career is crucial because it will be a big part of your life. If you don’t enjoy your job, your life won’t be as happy as you wish it to be. Try looking into different possibilities! Your dream job might be something you’ve never heard of before.
How can you start? First, think about your interests and strengths. This will help shape your future job. If numbers excite you, maybe you can be a scientist. If storytelling comes naturally, then writing or film-making could be your choice. And remember to talk to your parents, teachers and friends. They can share ideas about different jobs.
Also, think about future trends (趋势). Many jobs today, like web developers, weren’t around 50 years ago. New jobs like AI ethics advisors (伦理顾问) might appear when you grow up. As a result, besides learning subjects, you should also try to improve your creativity and critical (批判的) thinking.

A.important. B.necessary. C.easy. D.challenging.

A.You should first talk to your teachers and friends before thinking about your job.
B.Only by thinking about future trends can you find a good job.
C.In career planning, parents’ advice is the most important.
D.Improving creativity and critical thinking is important for future jobs.
4.Which of the following can be put in ▲ ?
A.You should wait until high school to start thinking about your future.
B.Only parents and teachers can help you make a good plan.
C.Planning is a waste of time because you never know what will happen.
D.You don’t have to wait to plan.
5.What is the writer’s main purpose in writing this text?
A.To explain why children dream of becoming teachers.
B.To introduce some popular jobs like doctors and scientists.
C.To encourage kids to think more widely about future careers.
D.To show how to become a cartoonist or an AI ethics advisor.
For young people who grow up in villages, a job in the city sounds good. But Ning Fenfang, 34, left the big city to be a farmer.
In 2017, she left her job in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, and went back to her hometown of Cili County in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province. At that time, much of the farmland there was deserted. Seeing this, Ning decided to be a farmer. She started with growing rice and oilseed rape (油菜) in 2020. She rented the land and hired villagers to work it.
Ning now farms more than 66.7 hectares of land. More than 300 housewives have worked part-time on her land, each making more than 10,000 yuan per year.
“It’s never easy,” said Ning. At first, many people didn’t understand her decision. Farming is often seen as an “unsuitable” job for both the post-90s generation and women in general. Also, she lacked enough farming knowledge. However, Ning loved farming.
“When you’re tired, you can stop and rest and do what you want to do. Every day, you can embrace nature, which is the poetry and far afield (诗和远方) that many people hope for,” Ning told the People’s Courts News and Communication Agency.
Ning has tried to turn farming into a “fashionable” job. Rather than depending on farmers, she advises mechanized (机械化) farming, which means using high-tech machines. She also plans to provide children living in cities with a chance to experience farming.
Ning feels responsible for farmers. Recently she has suggested that the agricultural insurance (农业保险) plans should include greenhouses, as freezing rain hit her hometown and caused losses to farmers in the winter of 2023.
1.Why did Ning decide to become a farmer?
A.To make money. B.To live a quiet life. C.To realize her dream. D.To make use of the deserted farmland.
2.How did people feel about Ning’s decision at first?
A.Happy. B.Puzzled. C.Surprised. D.Worried.
3.What does the underlined word “lacked” in Paragraph 4 mean?
4.What can we learn from Ning’s words in Paragraph 5?
A.Farming brings her great pleasure. B.It's tiring to take up farming.
C.She needs to take a rest. D.Many people hope to be farmers.
5.What is Ning like according to the last two paragraphs?
A.Friendly and humorous. B.Creative and responsible.

Akbar came to France in 1973 and began working as a newspaper hawker. Unlike others who stayed in busy spots, he chose to walk around the sixth arrondissement (区), a university area near the River Seine (塞纳河). He remembers learning French by chatting with students. Though Paris once had about 40 hawkers, Akbar stood out with his energy and optimism. His hard work was finally recognized by the country, and he even received a high national honor from the French government. Akbar believes this honor ________.
Today, Akbar still works from afternoon until evening, selling about 30 papers daily. In a digital age, his presence reminds people of a simpler joy. Old John has worked as a school keeper in Hill Ford School. After walking into the school building every day, he cleans rubbish bins and bathrooms.
Last Friday, after he arrived at the school, instead of finding rubbish to clean up, he found almost 500 students lining in the hallway(大厅) with handmade cards and singing a happy birthday song to him. It was his 80th birthday. As he walked the long hallway, someone rushed to him and gave him a hug. They handed him so many cards as well and the cards filled several large boxes. Old John was touched by their expression of affection(关爱). He thanked them all. “It’s the sixteenth year in this school. They’re like my children.” Old John said.
On a regular day, students sometimes come up to find him and say they’re not feeling well or other times to tell him about something that happened at break time. He knows most of the students at the school, but can’t name each one. Some of them make him know them. Like Faith, who often leaves her school bag in the canteen, and Lucy, who just wants a hug.
Carrie, a reading teacher said,“He won’t brag(夸耀) on himself, but it doesn’t matter what he’s doing or where he is, he will stop what he’s doing at any time to give all his attention and take care of a child if that child is having a bad day. ”
He works circles around all the students, cleaning up the mess others don’t want to touch. He doesn’t expect a lot. Old John said he hadn’t planned to do much for his birthday, so he was touched as the students had prepared the surprise celebration.
Over the weekend, he worked through the handmade cards at his house. One card from a student stood out to him. It read “Old John, you are the most loved one in our school...”

Over the past five years, China has created more than 20 new AI jobs, and each job can offer thousands of working chances. Now, China’s AI industry has become a huge market.

▲ . Join clubs, read books or watch videos about different jobs. Remember: big dreams start with small actions. Whether you want to change the world or find happiness, planning today will help you achieve your dreams tomorrow.

1.第一段提到原因:“A study shows that more than 80% of children choose jobs they often see around them, like doctors and teachers—with teachers topping the list of kids’ dream jobs”,说明孩子们选择这些职业,是因为在日常生活中经常接触到。
2.根据划线词后面的原因状语从句推断:“because it will be a big part of your life. If you don’t enjoy your job, your life won’t be as happy as you wish it to be”,这句话明确指出职业选择占据人生很大一部分,还会直接影响生活的幸福感,说明它是一件至关重要的事。
3.第四段提到作者观点:“As a result, besides learning subjects, you should also try to improve your creativity and critical thinking.”,直接说明提升创造力和批判性思维对未来工作的重要性。
4.前文介绍了职业规划的方法,后文则给出了具体行动建议:“Join clubs, read books or watch videos about different jobs…today will help you achieve your dreams tomorrow”,核心是强调不必等待,现在就可以为未来做准备,D项“You don’t have to wait to plan.”

C.Strict and hard-working. D.Brave and careful.
【答案】1.D 2.B 3.C 4.A 5.B
根据“At that time, much of the farmland there was deserted. Seeing this, Ning decided to be a farmer.”
根据“At first, many people didn’t understand her decision.”
根据“Farming is often seen as an ‘unsuitable’ job for both the post-90s generation and women in general.”
根据“When you’re tired, you can stop and rest and do what you want to do. Every day, you can embrace nature, which is the poetry and far afield that many people hope for”可知,她认为务农能让人拥抱自然,实现很多人向往的“诗和远方”,体现出务农给她带来了极大的乐趣。故选A。
根据“Ning has tried to turn farming into a ‘fashionable’ job... she advises mechanized farming... plans to provide children living in cities with a chance to experience farming”可知,宁创新农业模式,体现了她的“创造性(Creative)”;根据“Ning feels responsible for farmers... she has suggested that the agricultural insurance plans should include greenhouses”可知,她为农民的利益发声,体现了她的“责任感(responsible)”。

1.题干要求用现在完成时询问“是否听说过”,故用“have you ever heard of”;“修复古籍的手艺人”用定语从句“who repair ancient books”修饰craftsmen。
2.题干要求询问“什么样的能力”,且包含定语从句,故用“What kind of skill”提问,后接“is the one that...”作为表语,定语从句“that book restorers must have”修饰“the one”。
3.题干要求用情态动词should表达“传承传统手艺”的建议,故用“should pass on these traditional skills”,主语为“Young people”。
4.题干要求反义疑问句,前半句为肯定陈述“modern technology can also help...”,后半句用否定疑问“can’t it”,符合反义疑问句结构。

“Yes, I have”符合语境。
“What does a book restorer do”符合语境。
“We should protect them carefully”符合语境。
前半句陈述修复耗费时间“repairing an ancient book will take a very long time”,后半句需要用否定缩写反问won’t it,构成“前肯后否”的反义疑问句。“repairing an ancient book will take a very long time, won’t it”符合语境。
可建议下课后何不找些关于书籍修复师的故事看看,“Why not look for more stories about book restorers after class”符合语境。

In the cultural heart of Paris, along the streets of Saint-Germain-des-Pres, an elderly man’s cheerful voice often rings out: “France is getting better!” Ali Akbar, now 73, has been selling newspapers here for decades (数十年). With copies of Le Monde under his arm, he walks through the Left Bank, creating his own catchy headlines to attract customers. “I do it to create a good mood,” he says. “I want people to live happily.”
Akbar came to France in 1973 and began working as a newspaper hawker. Unlike others who stayed in busy spots, he chose to walk around the sixth arrondissement (区), a university area near the River Seine (塞纳河). He remembers learning French by chatting with students. Over time, he became a beloved part of the neighborhood. “Even regular tourists ask where he is if they don’t see him,” says Amina Qissi, a local waitress.
