17.What does the speaker say about first-aid boxes on the market?
A.They are too costly. B.They are not practical. C.They are of poor quality.
18.When is a lightweight first-aid box especially important?
A.Going traveling. B.Being ill at home. C.Shopping at the market.
19.What should be considered when preparing the basic medicine?
A.The duration of the trip.
B.The design of the box.
C.The size of the family.
20.What does the speaker advise us to do?
A.Store as much medicine as possible.
B.Take a first-aid box along any time.
C.Create a personalized first-aid box.
【答案】17.B 18.A 19.C 20.C
M: While there are a number of first-aid boxes on the market, they often lack some things you need or have other things that you don’t need. Instead of buying such a first-aid box, you can save money and get everything you need in the box by creating your own. Select a small box or bag, which is light and can hold all of your first-aid materials. This is of particular importance if you need it while you are taking a trip away from home. Separate your first-aid box or bag into two sections. One section should include all of your basic medical supplies, such as bandages, while the second one should include medicine. Make sure that your box contains important basic medicine. There should be enough for your family or group, which means that the larger your family or group is, the more medicine you need in your first-aid box. When it comes to bandages and other lightweight items, the more the better. Keep other necessary things in your first-aid box as well. For example, if someone in your family has high blood pressure, the first-aid box is a great place to keep blood pressure medicine, in case there is an emergency when you are far from medical help. You might also put emergency phone numbers, snake bite medicine or other items into your first-aid box.

Every day on the sides of streets across Japan, from major urban intersections to sleepy rural pathways, stand young children, ready to rush out into traffic. But Tobita-kun, the name by which the children are commonly known, never actually makes it out onto the road. These “children” are in fact a style of wooden signs that for the last half century has warned the nation’s drivers to watch for children who may unexpectedly rush into traffic. Often handmade by local councils. Tobita-kun has become an icon (图标) on Japan’s roadways and made a big difference in improving road safety in the country.
Across Japan, traffic accidents rocketed up through the 1960s, a period known locally as the “Traffic War”. Indeed, as a Japanese government department reported, in 1970 there were 16,765 deadly road accidents recorded nationwide — a rate of 16.33 per 100,000. Out of the chaos, however, emerged a cultural icon. Never officially named, Tobita-kun is recognized by similar names depending on the region, all generally translated as “jumping out boy”.
Tobita-kun’s design has been diversified over the decades. Structurally, the signs are commonly made of wood fashioned into the shape of a small, cartoonish child. Ready-made plastic versions are available in stores, although Japan’s local volunteer safety councils continue to make and paint wooden versions by hand. The classic design called “Series 0” was created in June 1973 by a signmaker who, five decades later, together with his son, still produces classic Tobita-kun signs for local parent-teacher associations who request custom designs.
Indeed as the classic “Series 0” signs spread throughout Japan in the 1970s, countless regional variations appeared, usually featuring Tobita-kun wearing a locality’s traditional dress. To explain the ongoing popularity of Tobita-kun in this country, Japanese pop culture expert Taylor Atkins says, “In some ways, various versions of Tobita-kun are similar to the municipal mascots (市政吉祥物). Towns and cities now have to promote and distinguish themselves.”
24.What does Tobita-kun serve as?
A.A road project. B.A reference guide.
C.A safety reminder. D.A direction indicator.
25.Why does the author write paragraph 2?
A.To offer background information. B.To introduce a new phenomenon.
C.To explain a sign’s cultural shifts. D.To compare traffic improvements.
26.What does the author say about Tobita-kun in paragraph 3?
A.It resulted from father-son cooperation.
B.It has developed into different varieties.
C.It is commonly custom-made by hand.
D.It is primarily generated by volunteers.
27.Which might be the trend in Tobita-kun signs?
A.Being uniquely styled. B.Being turned into mascots.
C.Spreading to other countries. D.Featuring artwork elements.
【答案】24.C 25.A 26.B 27.A
根据第一段中“These “children” are in fact a style of wooden signs that for the last half century has warned the nation’s drivers to watch for children who may unexpectedly rush into traffic. (这些“孩子”实际上是一种木制标志,在过去半个世纪里一直警告全国的司机注意可能突然冲入车流的儿童。)”可知,Tobita-kun充当了一种安全提醒。
25.推理判断题。根据第二段“Across Japan, traffic accidents rocketed up through the 1960s… in 1970 there were 16,765 deadly road accidents recorded nationwide… Out of the chaos, however, emerged a cultural icon. Never officially named, Tobita-kun is recognized by similar names depending on the region, all generally translated as “jumping out boy”. (在整个日本,20世纪60年代交通事故激增……1970年全国记录了16765起致命交通事故……然而,从这种混乱中诞生了一个文化标志。Tobita-kun从来没有正式的名字,根据不同的地区,人们用类似的名字来称呼它,通常都被翻译为“飞出小子”。)”可知,Tobita-kun最初是为应对上世纪60年代高发的交通事故而诞生。由此可知,作者写第二段是为了提供背景信息。
26.细节理解题。根据第三段中“Tobita-kun’s design has been diversified over the decades. Structurally, the signs are commonly made of wood fashioned into the shape of a small, cartoonish child. Ready-made plastic versions are available in stores, although Japan’s local volunteer safety councils continue to make and paint wooden versions by hand. (Tobita-kun的设计在几十年间经历了多样化的发展。从结构上讲,这些标识通常由木头制成,形状为一个小小的、卡通风格的小孩模样。商店里也有现成的塑料标识,不过日本当地的志愿者安全委员会仍会手工制作并涂绘木制标识。)”可知,Tobita-kun已经发展出不同的种类。
27.推理判断题。根据最后一段中“Indeed as the classic “Series 0” signs spread throughout Japan in the 1970s, countless regional variations appeared, usually featuring Tobita-kun wearing a locality’s traditional dress. “I was dead for 67 minutes. It’s a miracle that I’m here today.” Those are the words of Bruce Richardson, who survived a heart attack in July 2016 thanks to the quick actions of his friends and the first responders who refused to give up.
It was an early summer morning, a typical Saturday. Bruce volunteered as usual in the community center. “I had no symptoms that there was any problem. It was a completely normal morning; I felt fine,” he shared. “I was visiting with friends. Then, I passed out. I know what happened next from what others have told me.”
Bruce’s friend, Jack, had learned how to perform CPR, and he quickly began chest presses. Another friend, Doug, dialed 911 and the operator walked him through chest presses until the first responders arrived. Once the ambulance arrived, the emergency medical workers tried five times to restart Bruce’s heart with an AED.By this time, Bruce had been without a heartbeat for over 30 minutes, often when time of death is called. On the phone with an emergency room doctor, one of the emergency medical workers was instructed to try two AEDs simultaneously (同时地). It worked; Bruce’s heart began to beat again. Incredibly, he awoke the next day and was able to communicate. After a week, Bruce made a full recovery and left the hospital.
Since Bruce’s cardiac arrest, he has been able to return to a normal life with some differences. He now is a passionate CPR advocate. He has shared his story in the news, and last year he was a guest speaker at the Association’s Indianapolis Heart & Stroke Ball to encourage people to spread the message of CPR. Finally, Bruce shared his story in a video now being used to promote American Heart Association Hands-Only CPR machines set up around the country.
28.What made Bruce’s survival from a severe heart attack possible?
A.The doctor’s first aid without delay.
B.His friends’ proper guidance on performing CPR.
C.His volunteer experiences in the community center.
D.The instant actions of his friends and the first responders.
29.What can we infer from Bruce’s heart attack incident?
A.He had a clear memory of the whole rescue process in detail.
B.The 911 operator was the first person to perform CPR on Bruce.
C.The medical staff declared his death after 30 minutes of no heartbeat.
D.It was extremely rare for him to survive such a long time without a heartbeat.
30.Why did Bruce share his story in a video?
A.To advocate the application of CPR.
B.To appeal to more people to volunteer.
C.To share his struggle for a normal life.
D.To enhance people’s awareness of fitness.
31.What can we conclude from the text?
A.Hard work will pay off one day.
B.The knowledge of first aid counts.
C.Ease your mind when panic arises.
D.Learn to live in the present if in trouble.

D
Artificial intelligence (AI) has rapidly entered classrooms around the world, offering new tools for teaching and learning. From AI tutors that provide personalized feedback to chatbots that help students with homework, the technology promises to revolutionize education. But is AI a blessing or a curse for students and teachers?
Proponents of AI in education argue that the technology can level the playing field for students. AI tutors can provide 24/7 support to students who struggle in class, helping them catch up at their own pace. AI can also automate grading and administrative tasks, freeing up teachers to focus on one-on-one instruction and student well-being. “AI is not here to replace teachers,” says education researcher Dr. Sarah Chen. “It’s here to empower them, giving them more time to do what they do best: connect with students.”
However, critics warn that AI poses serious risks to education. Many students use AI chatbots to write essays, solve math problems, and complete homework, leading to a rise in cheating and a decline in critical thinking skills. “If students let AI do all the work for them, they will never learn how to think for themselves,” says high school teacher James Miller. “We are raising a generation of students who can’t write a sentence without AI, and that’s a crisis.”
Another major concern is bias in AI algorithms. AI systems are trained on data, and if the data is biased, the AI will perpetuate that bias, leading to unfair treatment of students from marginalized backgrounds. Additionally, over-reliance on AI can erode the human connection that is at the heart of education.“Learning is not just about getting answers,” says Dr. Chen. “It’s about the relationship between teacher and student, the discussion, the struggle, the growth. AI can never replace that.”
In the end, AI in education is a double-edged sword. It has the potential to transform education for the better, but only if it is used responsibly, with clear guidelines to protect students and preserve the human element of learning.
32.What is the author’s attitude towards AI in education?
A.Fully supportive. B. Objective and cautious.
C.Completely opposed. D.Indifferent and unconcerned.
33.Why do critics oppose the use of AI in education?
A.It replaces teachers and increases unemployment.
B.It leads to cheating and a decline in critical thinking.
C.It makes education too expensive for low-income students.
D.It automates grading and reduces teacher workload.
34.What is the main idea of the passage?
A.The benefits of AI in transforming education.
B.The risks of AI in causing cheating in schools.
C.The debate over AI’s role in education and its challenges.
D.The ways to use AI to improve student learning outcomes.
35.According to the passage, what can we learn about AI algorithms?
A.They are completely free from bias.
B.They may reflect biases in the training data.
C.They are designed to replace human teachers.
D.They always improve students’ writing skills.
根据原文第五段“In the end, AI in education is a double-edged sword. It has the potential to transform education for the better, but only if it is used responsibly, with clear guidelines to protect students and preserve the human element of learning.(最终,人工智能在教育领域是一把双刃剑。它有潜力让教育变得更好,但前提是被负责任地使用,并制定明确准则保护学生、保留学习中的人文元素。)”可知,作者对人工智能在教育中的态度是客观且谨慎的。
33.细节理解题。根据原文第三段“Many students use AI chatbots to write essays, solve math problems, and complete homework, leading to a rise in cheating and a decline in critical thinking skills.(许多学生利用人工智能聊天机器人写论文、解数学题、完成作业,导致作弊现象增多,批判性思维能力下降。)”
根据原文第一段“Artificial intelligence (AI) has rapidly entered classrooms around the world, offering new tools for teaching and learning. From AI tutors that provide personalized feedback to chatbots that help students with homework, the technology promises to revolutionize education. But is AI a blessing or a curse for students and teachers?(人工智能已迅速走进全球各地的课堂,为教与学提供了全新工具。从可以提供个性化学习反馈的人工智能辅导老师,到帮学生完成作业的智能聊天机器人,这项技术有望给教育带来革命性改变。但对师生而言,人工智能究竟是福还是祸?)”及全文内容可知,文章既介绍了人工智能给教育带来的便利,也分析了它存在的作弊、思维退化、算法偏见、淡化师生情感等问题,整体围绕人工智能在教育中的作用及争议展开论述。
35.细节理解题。根据原文第四段“AI systems are trained on data, and if the data is biased, the AI will perpetuate that bias, leading to unfair treatment of students from marginalized backgrounds.(人工智能系统依靠数据训练,如果数据存在偏见,人工智能就会延续这种偏见,导致弱势群体学生受到不公平对待。)”
How to Provide First Aid for a Broken Bone
Broken bones are serious injuries that need immediate medical care. Sometimes, getting timely first aid from trained health professionals is not always possible. 36 .Check the injured area.
If you’re in an emergency and there are no medical people around, quickly check how bad the injury is. If someone falls or has an accident and feels a lot of pain, they might have a broken bone.
37 . If you think the head, back, or pelvis (骨盆) is broken, don’t move the person. You need an X-ray to be certain. For arms, legs, fingers, toes, or noses, a broken bone usually looks bent or out of shape. 38
If you think the injury is serious and might be a broken bone, call 911 right away. Get an ambulance coming as fast as you can. First aid can help, but it’s not the same as having a doctor or nurse. If you’re near a hospital and you’re sure the injury isn’t life-threatening and is just in an arm or leg, you could drive the person there instead.Keep calm and watch for signs of shock.
Breaking a bone is very painful. Fear, panic, and shock are all common reactions, but they can have negative consequences for the body, so they must be controlled. As you wait for help, cover the person to keep him warm and give him some water. 39 .Keep the broken bone still.
After the injured person is stable, try to keep the broken bone still if you have to wait for help. This can reduce pain and protect the bone from more damage. 40 . Improperly moving broken bones can cause more harm. Splints (夹板) only work for arms and legs, not for bones in the pelvis or the body trunk.
A.Give first aid before the ambulance arrives.
B.Call for emergency help.
C.Therefore, knowing basic first aid for broken bones is important.
D.Keep talking to him to distract him from focusing on his injury.
E.the more severe the fracture (骨折) is, the more pain it causes.
F.Don’t try to fix the bone if you don’t know how.
G.But pain alone isn’t enough to be sure.
根据上文“Broken bones are serious injuries that need immediate medical care. Sometimes, getting timely first aid from trained health professionals is not always possible.(骨折是严重的损伤,需要立即接受医疗救治。有时,无法及时获得受过卫生专业训练人员的急救处理)”可知,第一段引出主题,前文提到有时候无法及时获得专业医护人员的急救,因此C选项“因此,了解骨折的基础急救知识十分重要”符合逻辑,衔接上文,引出下文具体方法。
37.根据上文“If you’re in an emergency and there are no medical people around, quickly check how bad the injury is. If someone falls or has an accident and feels a lot of pain, they might have a broken bone.(如果你遇到紧急情况,周围没有医护人员,请迅速检查伤情的严重程度。如果有人摔倒或发生意外后感到剧烈疼痛,可能已经骨折了)”以及后文“If you think the head, back, or pelvis (骨盆) is broken, don’t move the person. You need an X-ray to be certain. For arms, legs, fingers, toes, or noses, a broken bone usually looks bent or out of shape.(如果怀疑头部、背部或骨盆骨折,请不要移动伤者。必须通过X光检查才能确定。对于手臂、腿部、手指、脚趾或鼻子,骨折通常表现为弯曲或形状异常)”可知,前文提到受伤剧痛可能是骨折,后文提到需要X光才能确诊,G选项“但只凭疼痛无法确定骨折”承上启下,符合语境。
38.根据后文“If you think the injury is serious and might be a broken bone, call 911 right away. Get an ambulance coming as fast as you can. First aid can help, but it’s not the same as having a doctor or nurse. If you’re near a hospital and you’re sure the injury isn’t life-threatening and is just in an arm or leg, you could drive the person there instead.(如果你认为伤势严重,可能是骨折,请立即拨打911。尽快让救护车赶到现场。急救措施可以提供帮助,但无法替代医生或护士的治疗。如果你在医院附近,并且确定伤情不危及生命,只是手臂或腿部受伤,可以自行驾车送人去医院)”可知,空后整段内容围绕拨打急救电话、呼叫救护车送医展开,B选项“呼叫紧急救援”可作为该段的核心小标题,符合要求。
39.根据上文“Breaking a bone is very painful. Fear, panic, and shock are all common reactions, but they can have negative consequences for the body, so they must be controlled. As you wait for help, cover the person to keep him warm and give him some water.(骨折会非常疼痛。恐惧、惊慌和休克都是常见的反应,但这些反应可能对身体造成不良影响,因此必须加以控制。等待救援时,应为伤者盖上衣物以保暖,并给予少量饮水)”可知,该段讲解缓解休克恐慌,前文提到等待救援时要给伤者保暖、喂水,D选项“不断和伤者说话,帮他转移对伤势的注意力”符合缓解恐慌情绪的逻辑,衔接自然。
40.根据上文“After the injured person is stable, try to keep the broken bone still if you have to wait for help. This can reduce pain and protect the bone from more damage.(伤者情况稳定后,如果需要等待救援,请尽量保持骨折部位不动。这样可以减轻疼痛,并防止骨骼进一步受损)”以及后文“Improperly moving broken bones can cause more harm. Splints (夹板) only work for arms and legs, not for bones in the pelvis or the body trunk.(不当地移动骨折的骨头可能会造成更大的伤害。夹板仅适用于手臂和腿部,不适用于骨盆或躯干部位的骨骼)”可知,该段讲解保持骨折部位固定,后文提到不当移动会造成更多伤害,F选项“如果你不懂正确方法,不要尝试复位骨折”符合语境,衔接下文。

【答案】
First Aid Matters
Last month, a classmate collapsed suddenly during a P.E. session, clutching his ankle in pain. While others panicked, I remembered the first-aid training I had received. I immediately elevated his leg and applied an ice pack to reduce the swelling before the school doctor arrived.
What impressed me most was that timely action can prevent further injury. Had I hesitated, his condition might have worsened. This experience taught me that first aid is not just a skill but a responsibility.
Learning it empowers us to protect lives when every second counts.

One Friday afternoon, our class was having a PE lesson on the playground. We were taking part in a running race, laughing and competing with each other excitedly. The bright sunshine and fresh air made us full of energy.
Suddenly, my deskmate David, who was running at full speed, lost his balance and fell heavily to the ground. He let out a sharp cry and held his twisted ankle tightly. His face turned pale in no time, and tears could be seen in his eyes. He could not move his foot at all, and the whole place fell into silent worry.
Some of my classmates were so frightened that they stood still, unsure of what to do. Our PE teacher, Mr. Brown, rushed over without delay. He gently examined David’s ankle and told us not to move him freely, warning that wrong actions would worsen the injury. He then asked one student to get the first-aid kit and another to contact the school doctor immediately.
Mr. Brown applied a cold towel to the swollen area to relieve the pain, but David still looked uncomfortable. We gathered around quietly, feeling anxious but helpless. Several minutes passed, but the school doctor had not yet arrived. David’s suffering continued, and we could do nothing but wait worriedly.
This unexpected incident made us deeply aware that we lacked basic first-aid skills. We realized that in an emergency, simple knowledge could make a huge difference. Seeing Mr. Brown’s calm and determined look, we all hoped to lend a hand and work together with him.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
We decided to act properly according to Mr. Brown’s instructions.

Finally, the school doctor arrived.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
One possible version:
We decided to act properly according to Mr. Brown’s instructions. One student quickly fetched a thicker coat from the classroom to cushion David’s head, while another fetched a bottle of water to wet a spare towel for further cold compress. I volunteered to call the school clinic again to update them on David’s condition and confirm their exact location. Mr. Brown praised our calm cooperation and showed us how to elevate David’s injured foot slightly using a folded schoolbag, reducing the swelling. David’s painful expression gradually softened as we kept talking to him, distracting his attention with jokes and encouraging words. Though still anxious, we felt proud that our prompt and proper actions were actually helping.
Finally, the school doctor arrived. He quickly examined David’s ankle, nodding in approval at the first aid measures we had taken. “You’ve done a perfect job,” he said, then skillfully bandaged the ankle and applied a fixing splint. David was then carefully lifted onto a stretcher and sent to the school infirmary for further check-up. Before leaving, David smiled weakly and whispered, “Thank you, all of you.” That day, we not only learned basic first aid skills but also understood the true meaning of teamwork and responsibility. From then on, our class organized a first-aid study group, determined to be better prepared for any emergency.

C.The medical staff declared his death after 30 minutes of no heartbeat.
D.It was extremely rare for him to survive such a long time without a heartbeat.
30.Why did Bruce share his story in a video?
A.To advocate the application of CPR.
B.To appeal to more people to volunteer.
C.To share his struggle for a normal life.
D.To enhance people’s awareness of fitness.
31.What can we conclude from the text?
A.Hard work will pay off one day.
B.The knowledge of first aid counts.

While there are a number of first state boxes on the market, they often like some things you need or have other things that you don't need. Instead of buying such a first state box, you can save money and get everything you need in the box by creating your own select small box or bag, which is light and can hold all of your first date materials. This is of particular importance. If you needed, while you are taking a trip away from home, separate your first date box or bag into two sections. One section should include all of your basic medical supplies, such as vantages, while the second one should include medicine. Make sure that your box contains important basic medicine.
