(2026•湖南省多校联盟高二上期中)Sudaria, who grew up in Southern California, fell in love with Ravenswood as a Stanford senior volunteering with Barrio Assistance, a student-run tutoring program. She applied for a job as a first-grade teacher in Ravenswood as soon as she graduated, in 1998. She’s been in the district ever since, working as a teacher, vice principal, principal, and director of human resources and student services.
She was appointed to the permanent superintendent (总监) in 2020 by the board, facing a seven-figure budget shortage and declining enrollment (入学). Then she made the difficult decision to close two of the district’s five elementary schools.
She didn’t do it alone.“I held 29 community meetings,” she says. At those meetings, she invited parents and anyone else interested in Ravenswood’s future to listen as she described the challenges: Student enrollment had declined from 5,085 in 1998 to 2,048 in 2019 (last year it was 1,449), and insufficient funding was spread too thin. Then she asked people to weigh in.
One day last year, Sudaria got word that a Ravenswood middle schooler had completed a core academic program at school. “I’m like, ‘What program? That’s fantastic!’” But when she found out, her heart sank. It was a foundational literacy (读写能力) program. “That’s kindergarten through second grade material,” she says. The student had been unable to sound out words like cat and dog.
In the summer of 2023, she launched the Ravenswood Promise, a listening tour and cooperative process for creating a new strategic plan. The trip to Lindsay came that winter, and in the months that followed, a plan took shape around what Sudaria calls the three rocks: literacy, teacher talent, and attendance — each foundational to student learning. Fixing these areas, she believes, will enable the district to accomplish its central goal: to improve student academic outcomes.
24.What made Sudaria decide to work in Ravenswood at first?( )
A.The high salary. B.Her volunteer experience.
C.The invitation from the school. D.Her desire to govern the school.
25.What does the underlined phrase “weigh in” in paragraph 3 mean?( )
A.Keep silent. B.Give opinions.
C.Lose weight. D.Make a phone call.
26.What can we infer from the story of the Ravenswood’s middle schooler?( )
A.The students there have weak literacy skills.
B.The school education there is very successful.
C.The literacy program is popular among students.
D.The middle schooler’s achievement excited Sudaria.
27.What is Sudaria’s main goal for the school district?( )
A.To cut more school budgets. B.To increase school enrollment.
C.To build more elementary schools. D.To enhance students’ academic performances.

(2026•长沙部分学校高二上期中)Nothing is more important than keeping your child safe. If you and your child are new to China, the following suggestions may give you some help.
Take good care of your child when taking public transportation. In China, buses and subways may be more crowded than you have imagined, especially in the rush hour. It is important to stand in line. Never try to squeeze (挤进) in with your child when the door is closing and make sure your child is always beside you on the train, bus or subway.
Teach your child the traffic rules in China as soon as possible. It is wise to set an example for your child. Always cross the road with great caution. There is so much traffic running which may get you and your child hurt. Never jump the traffic lights. Do not let children cross the road alone unless they are old enough.
Use a child safety belt when driving a car. Never leave your child alone in a locked car. In summer, the temperature in a closed car can become extremely high in a short period of time and put your child in danger. Besides, oxygen is quickly becoming less and less when the car is completely closed so that your child is choking even to death.
You may find a number of places of attraction to visit in China, but consider carefully how suitable they are for your child before setting out. It may be an improper choice to take your young kids to faraway mountains on a cold day or to a popular museum during a crowded vacation. Decisions should depend on the weather, distance and specific situation.
While you and your child visit an amusement park, remember to keep your child safe as well. Read the height and weight rules carefully. Follow the directions of the staff in charge. Think it over before accepting the child’s demand for a thrilling game or ride.
28.What are the suggestions given in the text about?( )
A.Saving money. B.Children’s safety.
C.Adults’ convenience. D.Ways of staying healthy.
29.Which paragraph gives suggestions to parent drivers?( )
A.Paragraph 2. B.Paragraph 3.
C.Paragraph 4. D.Paragraph 5.
30.Which of the following is advisable according to the text?( )
A.Asking staff in charge for directions.
B.Visiting the Palace Museum on 1 October.
C.Taking kids to faraway mountains on a cold day.
D.Letting two-year-olds cross roads independently.
31.Who is the text written for?( )
A.Volunteers in China. B.Young tourists in China.
C.Foreign parents in China. D.Parents of Chinese children.

(2026•沧州高二期末)High school students like 15-year-old Kayla Chege increasingly rely on artificial intelligence (AI) for everyday guidance. She asks ChatGPT about shopping, makeup, food choices and party planning. While avoiding using it for homework, she represents a growing phenomenon: teens interacting with AI as a helper for advice and emotional support.
“Everyone uses AI for everything now. It’s really taking over,” Chege noted, wondering about its long-term impacts. Concerns about school cheating initially took center stage in discussions, but AI now plays a broader role in teens’ personal lives.
A new Common Sense Media study reveals that over 70% of teens have used AI chatbots like Character.AI or Replika — platforms designed to function as “digital friends” offering emotional support and human-like conversation. Even question-answering tools like ChatGPT are used similarly. Shockingly, 31% of teens surveyed found conversations with AI “as satisfying or more satisfying” than talking with real friends, and 33% discussed serious issues with AI instead of people.
Researchers find these figures alarming. “It’s eye-opening,” said Michael Robb, the study’s lead author. The youthful stage is vital for developing social skills and identity, and AI chatbots should supplement (补充) rather than replace real interactions. Constant approval from AI, without challenges to learn social signals, leaves teens unprepared for real-world relationships.
Teens themselves voice concerns. Ganesh Nair, 18, appreciated that AI is always available ... never judgmental, but was surprised when a friend used an AI tool to generate a breakup text. “That felt strange. We are allowing computers to replace relationships,” he reflected. Bruce Perry, 17, admitted relying heavily on AI for writing and decisions, worrying younger kids could get lost in this, potentially losing motivation for real-world socializing.
Experts warn of potential cognitive costs, including impacts on creativity, critical thinking and social development. Risks include exposure to harmful content, dangerous advice, and ineffective age limits. Unlike social media, which serves a need to be seen by others, experts observe that AI targets a deeper need for attachment and emotional connection, calling it “the new addiction”. As this largely uncontrolled technology rapidly integrates into the youthful stage, teens, parents and educators face urgent questions about its effects on human connection and mental health.
32.What can we say about Kayla Chege according to the text?( )
A.She thinks AI harms real friendships.
B.She relies on AI to finish homework.
C.She doesn’t use AI for emotional support.
D.She asks AI for advice on daily matters.
33.How is paragraph 3 mainly developed?( )
A.By comparing different AI tools. B.By presenting research findings.
C.By explaining why teens use AI. D.By listing experts’ opinions on AI.
34.What is Ganesh Nair’s attitude towards his friend using AI to generate a breakup text?( )
A.Positive. B.Unclear.
C.Disapproving. D.Unconcerned.
35.Which of the following is the best title for the text?( )
A.Teens’ AI Use and Daily Interactions
B.Experts’ Warnings on AI and Adult Socializing
C.AI Chatbots Help Teens with Emotional Support
D.Teens’ Growing Dependence on AI and Its Risks

(2026•湖南省湘一名校高二期中)Self-doubt is a common mental experience that can prevent us from realizing our full potential. It often arises during periods of change or when we face new challenges. 36. The practical strategies listed below can help you manage it effectively and recover your confidence.
To begin with, be kind to yourself. Many of us tend to be our own strictest critics, especially when things don’t go as planned. It’s not a wise choice. 37. Adding encouraging self-talk to your morning routine can noticeably improve your overall mood and increase your confidence throughout the day.
38. Constantly measuring your achievements against others’ often creates unnecessary pressure and messes with your self-image. It’s important to remember that each person’s life journey is unique, with different starting points and paces. Your primary focus should remain on your own progress and personal goals.
Regularly reflecting on your past success provides another powerful tool against self-doubt. 39. This simple practice serves as solid evidence of your capabilities. Maintaining an achievement journal where you record these successful moments creates a personal source of encouragement when doubt slides in.
To protect your mental wellbeing and personal growth, make an effort to surround yourself with supportive people. Negative individuals can increase self-doubt and influence your mental health. In contrast, supportive friends will encourage you to improve and lead you through challenges. 40. They can also help you recover from stress, truly showing the wisdom that “you are known by the company you keep”.
In conclusion, while self-doubt is a universal experience, it doesn’t have to decide who you are. Through regular practice of these strategies and maintaining a growth mindset, you can overcome self-doubt and move forward with greater confidence and self-assurance.
A.Avoid comparing yourself with others.
B.It brings both great chances and suffering.
C.However, this doesn’t mean we’re powerless against it.
D.Therefore, it is important to face your weaknesses bravely.

(2026•赣州十三校高二上联考)Growing up, I wanted to be just like my mom. She was kind and caring, and always made people comfortable in her presence. For years she was a volunteer in our community. I love going to the local nursing home to help with her when I was a child. However, once I became a teenager, I was too caught up in my adolescent world to worry about helping others.
One particular summer day when I was 12, Mom came into my room and told me to get up and meet her at the car. But I had planned to spend the day at the lake with friends. Why did she have to ruin everything? At last, I made my way outside with my mother. Angry and annoyed, I climbed into the car and shut the door loudly. I sat in silence, too upset to talk. “Tasha, do you know where we are going?” Mom asked calmly. I remained silent. “Sweetheart, we’re going to the children’s shelter. I have been there before and I think it would benefit you,” she explained.
I felt a pain slowly form in my stomach. How was I supposed to help there?
When we reached the shelter, I was rather surprised. As we approached the front door, wind-bells played a calming tune while trees and flowers welcomed us. Maybe this wasn’t going to be so.
Mom rang the doorbell. We were led to the front room, where all of the children were playing. Toys were spread out across the floor. I noticed a baby whose body was seriously wounded. Most of the children had noticeable physical scars such as cuts, burns and scratches. What a terrible life they must had had before they moved here! My heart sank. As I was looking around, I felt a gentle pull on my shirt.
注意:(1)续写词数应为150个左右;
(2)请按如下格式作答。
I looked down to find a little girl with brown eyes looking up at me.
I returned to the shelter with Mom several times.

W:Have you all heard about the White House? Today we’re going to talk about the building that symbolizes the USA.Mr Green, please.
M:The White House is one of the most recognizable structures in the world. You can’t say you’ve been to Washington, D.C.if you haven’t seen the White House. Not every American president lives there.Though the Executive Mansion was begun in 1792 under the direction of George Washington, the structure was not completed until 1800, so ironically Washington never called it home. The White House is open to the public on weekdays from 10 a.m.until noon. The building was torched by British troops in 1814, during the War of 1812, and the structural damage caused by the fire was repaired, but the sandstone walls outside were still black from the fire. The walls were then painted white, giving birth to the name the building now goes by.An act of Congress made it the official name in 1920.Every President has left his mark upon the White House, with Thomas Jefferson adding grass to the east and west wings, Andrew Jackson installing running water, and Harry Truman adding a porch.Bill Clinton’s addition to the White House was an indoor track.

第四部分
第一节
Dear Jackson,
I’m more than delighted to share my opinion, which I hope will be of some help to you. Frankly speaking, I hold the view that it makes sense to study abroad. The reasons are as follows.
Above all, while studying abroad, we are exposed to a foreign language setting and the learning process becomes engaging and effective. Moreover, bathed in a different culture of a foreign country, we can gain great insights into the world because cross-cultural experiences can give us a global perspective. Studying abroad takes us out of our comfort zone and changes us for the better, which is the most important from my perspective.
All things considered, I hope you can choose to study abroad and start a new life.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节
I looked down to find a little girl with brown eyes looking up at me. Her angelic face lighted, although there were some scars on her little arms. “Hi. I’m Ashley. Do you want to play dolls with me?” she asked. I looked over and saw Mom nodding to me with a smile. I bent toward Ashley and whispered, “Sure. I’d love to.” Her tiny hand reached up and took mine, and we walked toward the doll house. Our time together brought her great joy and fun and she also made my day.
I returned to the shelter with Mom several times. During those visits, some of the children including Ashley shared their troubled pasts with me in great detail. I felt sorry for what had happened to them and treasured the friendship between us. I would like to do everything in my power to help the children there. At the same time, I learned to be grateful for all that I had. It was a meaningful time in my young life that I will never forget. It was Mom who taught me the valuable lesson that summer.
