B too, Simon is talking to Sandy about never giving up. Listen to their conversation and complete the notes below. I think never giving up is the most important quality for success. I agree with that. The story of Derek redmond encourages me a lot. Sometimes when situations seem too difficult, I feel like giving up. But then I think of redd mond. If he can keep going in such a tough situation, so can I. That's just how I feel when I think of my aunt. SHE always wanted to be a great artist, but SHE faced lots of chAllenges. At the start of her career, some people told her that he didn't have enough talent . to succeed. No, no, that's not nice to hear exactly. But he never gave up, and now she's a successful artist. Many people in sunshine town love her works.
c. Amy and Daniel are talking about how people get through difficulties, work in pair and discuss the topic. Use the conversation below as a model. Do you know about an Frank Daniel? He was a teenager during world war two. I've heard of her. Why do you ask? I just think he was so brave. During the war, SHE and her family had to live in secret. IT was a terrible time, but they never gave up hope. Ann kept diary and recorded her experiences. IT has become a symbol of the Victory of the human spirit. I agree, it's amazing how I managed to get through the tough times. Her story reminds me of the musician shang shanghai. He also lived through world war two. I've heard of him. He wrote great music in times of war. Yes, he kept writing music and wouldn't let anything stop him. His music greatly encouraged chinese people during difficult times.

Q: What is the difference in meaning between “till/until” and “not ... till/until”?
We use “not ... until ” with action verbs that describe a change or movement. It means the action doesn’t happen before that time. We use “until” alone with state verbs to describe a situation that continues up to a certain time.

Helen Keller is a great example of someone who never gave up. She became blind and deaf as a baby, but she didn’t let that stop her. With her teacher’s help, she learned to read, write, and speak.
