Passage 1
Early each morning, Liu Huangping carefully places beehives around his house, preparing to welcome his tiny guests with spaces to nest. "It's about the time honeybees usually arrive, and we'll harvest their honey in August,” said the 50-year-old from Gangbei village in Jiangxi province, who has been keeping bees for nearly 20 years. “Only about five households used to keep bees, but the sizable and stable income from beekeeping has drawn more villagers into the business,” he said.
In 2015, a group was set up to train villagers in beekeeping and help them sell honey. “We teach them modern beekeeping techniques to increase production and provide them with regular sales channels. Villagers have almost no trouble selling,” said Wu Zhulin, Party branch secretary of Gangbei. The sweet business of beekeeping has made villagers wealthy, and in 2017,Gangbei was officially lifted out of poverty.
In 2021, Liu was invited to join a local company specializing in cultural tourism. He was put in charge of promoting agricultural produce through tourism. With a keen understanding of their honey, Liu emphasizes branding and packaging, even creating a promotional video.
A State Council Executive meeting(国务院会议)in March made efforts to advance rural vitalization(乡村振兴)across the board, foster rural industries with local characteristics, and create more channels for increasing rural incomes. To broaden the marketability of wild honey produced in this remote village, the government of Jing'an county invited e-commerce companies to Gangbei to promote honey products through online broadcasting.
The county's Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau has also played an important role by providing training sessions and encouraging villagers to participate in local industries. The harmonious coexistence(共存)between human and nature is evident in the sweet transformation of Gangbei, where the hum of busy bees signifies a prosperous future.

Passage 2
Palazzo grew up in the countryside of Brazil, where her early exposure to agriculture inspired a lifelong passion to further explore the subject. A key chapter in her journey was her experience in China, a major agricultural powerhouse.
Palazzo earned a full scholarship to pursue a master's degree in Chinese studies at the Agriculture School of Renmin University of China. During field trips with her international classmates, Palazzo was deeply impressed by China's agricultural creation. In a village in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, she was amazed by how local family farms maximized small spaces for production using advanced technology, rather than relying on large pieces of land. She also noticed the wide variety of agricultural products from different regions of China available in supermarkets.
“One similarity between China and Brazil is that both countries focus on improving land productivity,” she said. With a degree in agriculture and a strong background in agribusiness, Palazzo believes that agricultural production is not just about farming-it's deeply connected with economics, politics, culture, logistics, and marketing.
Palazzo currently leads the department at a company in Brazil, where she is actively involved in the agribusiness sector and works closely with many Chinese companies. “My study experience in China gave me a whole new perspective on the industry,” she said. It helped her better understand the dynamics of the Chinese market and how to work with Chinese entrepreneurs(企业家).
She believes there is huge potential for partnership between China and Brazil in terms of industry and agriculture. With growing China-Brazil ties and China's expanding influence in the global economy, Palazzo has made cooperation with China a key part of her future career plans.

Keeping Xizang on track for rail innovation
Traveling far is fun for most people, but it wasn't easy for Tibetan people decades(数十年)ago.
“Whenever we wanted to visit a city like Lhasa, we had to take a car because there were no other transportation options. The trip was long - about 14 hours - and we always ended up with sore backs and aching bodies,” recalled Yangkyi, a 30-year-old railway worker from Lhorong county,Chamdo city.
The opening of the Qinghai-Xizang Railway on July 1, 2006, marked the end of Xizang's history without railways, greatly changing the lives of Yangkyi and other Tibetan people.
“Following the Qinghai-Xizang Railway, other lines like the Lanzhou-Xinjiang High-Speed Railway, Dunhuang Railway and Lhasa-Nyingchi Railway have been opened, creating a dense(密集的)railway network across the plateau (高原),”Yangkyi explained.
Joining the China Railway Qinghai-Tibet Group Corporation in 2017,she has witnessed(见证)the positive changes these railways have brought to Xizang in person. "These railways have improved travel conditions for locals. Also, people from other regions come to visit Xizang and learn about our culture.”
Throughout her career, Yangkyi has seen railway technology grow quickly. In the past, workers checked the tracks by hand, using tools like hammers(锤子)and magnifying glasses(放大镜).They would tap the rails to listen for cracks. Now, the Tibetan railway uses advanced tools. For instance, the Lhasa-Nyingchi Railway has ultrasonic detectors(超声波探测器)and smart data systems. “These new technologies make the work easier for us to keep the railways safer,”Yangkyi said.
The progress of technology also means personal skills must improve. “"In the face of these changes and challenges,I must strive to keep pace with the rapid development of the plateau railways.” she said.

Passage4
Nowadays, people are sharply divided in their opinions on AI's role in education. Some sing high praise for its efficiency, while others warn that it takes away students' ability to think on their own. 9 Instead of simply regarding AI as good or bad, we should figure out its proper position in the learning process.
The influence of AI on education changes with its specific use. On one hand, it can speed up students’ learning effectively and help students get excellent superficial(表面的)learning results. On the other hand, long-term over-dependence on AI will damage their cognitive(认知)skills. 10 And slowly they will lose the basic ability to think independently completely.
11 AI can greatly help students finish tasks, such as correcting grammar errors and offering detailed solutions to study problems, which improves short-term learning performance. However, the purpose of education is to help students truly take in new knowledge. Only by facing hard challenges, thinking over mistakes and trying to work out unknown things can students form strong and steady thinking abilities. Such valuable mental experiences can never be replaced by technological convenience.
But what can we do to bring out AI tools' greatest value in education? 12 They should be widely used in daily classes as a useful helper, instead of fully taking the place of students' self-study. For example, learners can write articles alone at first, and then use AI to arrange ideas better.
Education aims to cultivate(培养)independent thinkers. We should treat AI wisely, neither refusing it blindly nor relying on it heavily. 13
A. The key answer is to use them in the right way.
B. Without AI, most students will fail to solve problems alone.
C. However, this argument fails to notice the key point behind the matter.
D. It is important to tell superficial learning results apart from in-depth personal growth.
E. Only by balancing tech help and self-exploration can AI better serve students’ development.
Passage5
Humans love to play. As babies, we play with our fingers and toes. As toddlers, we play with anything: keys, pots and pans, a new toy (or the box it came in). As preschoolers, we play “pretend”. For example, we pretend to talk on the phone or drive a car. When we're a bit older we might spend hours in imaginative play, like inventing new worlds or travelling through time or space. Can you remember what fun you used to have when you were little?
Never too old
Play isn't just for little kids. Many teenagers and adults enjoy dressing up too just look around at Halloween! And what about the cosplayers who attend Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong every year? In fact, people of all ages enjoy a card game such as Uno or a board game from time to time. For example, Caverna: The Cave Farmers (a game
involving farming, mining, and digging new mountain caves) and The Hunger Games: District 12 (a strategy game inspired by the highly successful science-fiction adventure film) are both popular among older teens in Hong Kong.
Then there's long-time favorite Monopoly. Generations of Hong Kong families have enjoyed playing the original version of this best-selling property(财产) game. Nowadays there are many different worldwide editions, including one for Hong Kong. Despite the rise of computer games, its success is ongoing.
More than just fun?
Playfulness is an important human characteristic. It may actually make us smarter too. “Play is our brain's favorite way of learning,” wrote an American poet, and many educators agree. Games give us the opportunity to try new things, solve problems and be reflective: all important 21st-century learning skills. What's more, games offer a low-risk situation in which to practise these skills. After all, when it's “just a game”, we know it's OK to fail.
Play is also good for creativity. A well-known expert in child development believes that if you want to be creative, think like a child. What better way to stay in part a child than by making time to play? Of course, some kinds of play may be more beneficial than others. But wouldn't it be funny if parents began nagging(唠叨)their children to play computer games more often? “Samuel, have you played any computer games today?” “Angelica, stop practising the piano and play that new computer game I bought you!” Plenty of young people would be happy about that!
