DOn 24 April 2025,the Shenzhou-20 spaceship went into space with three astronauts. They were
答
heading to the Tiangong Space Station to meet the Shenzhou-19 crew().This was a big moment for
China's space program.
2The two groups of astronauts worked together for five days-fixing equipment, doing experiments, and
preparing for a crew change.When Shenzhou-19's astronauts left for Earth on 29 April,it wasn't just a
routine swap(常规轮换).The“key handover(交接)”and their group photo showed how good China has
become at running a space station for a long time.During their time together, the six astronauts did important
work. The most exciting part was when Shenzhou-19 brought back the eighth batch (of science samples
from space. These 28 kilograms of samples included small animals and bacteria().Scientists want to
know how weightlessness affects life.
3China is working hard to make the space station a safe place for astronauts to live and work for a long
time. This mission shows two things China cares about-technology and science.Shenzhou-20 docked(X

with the station in just 6.5 hours! This shows better auto-docking technology. The experiments also prove
that space research can solve real problems.Studying bacteria might lead to new antibiotics()or ways
to grow food in space. All these efforts fit China's plan, which is to build a permanent space station and get
ready for missions like bringing samples back from Mars.
4But astronauts face problems like weak bones from microgravity, dangerous radiation, and equipment
issues. Each mission, though, brings China closer to being a space leader. The Shenzhou-20 crew will stay
for six months, doing more experiments and preparations for the future.
5From the first manned flight in 2003 to the Shenzhou-19 and 20 missions, our space program shows
how persistence()and new ideas can achieve big goals. As these astronauts explore beyond Earth,
they encourage young people to dream of what's possible in space.

A.Shenzhou-20 docked with the Tiangong Space Station on 29 April 2025.
B.The two groups of astronauts worked together for three days.
C.Their common work included fixing equipment and preparing for crew change.
D.The "key handover"was just a routine swap without special meaning.

After working as a backup()crew member for 24 years,Chinese astronaut Deng Qingming's dream
finally came true-he had performed his first space mission onboard the Shenzhou XV spaceship with two
other astronauts Fei Junlong and Zhang Lu.
Deng Qingming, was born in a farming family in East China's Jiangxi Province in 1966.He has four
younger brothers and sisters.As a hard-working student,Deng joined the PLA Air Force(中国人民解放军
)in June 1984 and started training as a pilot at a flight college in Hebei Province. After he graduated in
November 1987,the young pilot went to a fighter regiment()in Jilin Province. He became the first
member of the PLA Astronaut Division(中国人民解放军航天员队)in January 1998with13 other pilots,
but Deng is also the last one of the country's first group of 14 astronauts to be sent into space. After joining
the PLA Astronaut Division,Deng spent almost all of his time training and has hoped to fly into space. He
was a backup crew member for the Shenzhou IX,X,XI and XIlI missions."Being a backup doesn't mean
you don't need to work.Only when the crew returns to Earth will my mission be finished,"Deng once said.
When training for Shenzhou XI mission in 2016,Deng and another astronaut had to stay in a spacecraft
simulator(仿真装置)no bigger than 10 square metres for33days.They had no showers and stood loud
noise and strong light as they tried sleep. No matter how difficult the road to space is,Deng never once
thought of giving up.
He is a great hero and people all like him very much.We can find out no one can succeed easily without
making an effort.

DOn 11 December 2025,China's self-developed "Jiutian"drone successfully
made its first test flight in Shanxi. This achievement marks a big step forward in
China's large drone technology.
2The Jiutian is a large drone that can be used for different jobs. Its wings are 25
metres wide.It can weigh up to 16 tons, and carry 6,000 kilograms of things. It is
the Jiutian drone
also able to fly for about 12 hours and go about 7,000 kilometres. This means it can
九天无人机
carry as much weight as a large truck and fly as far as from Beijing to Singapore.
3 This drone is special because of its ability to change its equipment for different tasks. For example,it
can carry heavy things to faraway mountains or islands. It can also help people in danger and make maps.In
terrible situations,it can quickly send food and medicine to people.
4Besides,like some other modern drones, the Jiutian uses solar power, the power from the sun. This
helps it to fly longer and do more tasks.AA solar-powered American drone once stayed in the air for
64 days. Many European fans also use small solar-powered drones to take millions of photos in the air.
5The success of this flight shows China's growing ability in drone technology. The good test flight also
shows China is getting better at making drones. The Jiutian is one of the best drones of its kind in the world.
This helps China's economy and brings new ideas to the aviation industry().
6In recent years,China has made great progress in space and aviation. From its first satellite to
sending astronauts into space,China has become a country with powerful technology. The first flight of the
Jiutian is surely another important success.
DLooking to the future,China will continue to make progress in space technology. With hard work and
creativity,we may explore deeper into space and achieve more great things. We believe the future of our
country is bright and full of hope!
()13.According to the passage, the Jiutian is special because
A.it is the largest drone in the world at present
B.it can fly for more than 64 days in the air
C.it is the first solar-powered drone in China
D.it can change its equipment for different tasks
()14.Which sentence uses the word "carry"with the same meaning as that in paragraph 3?
A.The radio station carried the football match last week.
B.She always carries a hand-made bag when she goes out.
C.This bus can carry more than 50 passengers at one time.
D.He carried the baby softly in his arms and walked slowly.

They also walked in space to set up new equipment outside the space station, which helped to
improve the space station's functions.
19.They made sure that all the data from their experiments was saved and sent back to Earth.
They also tidied up the space station and handed over their work to the Shenzhou-20 crew.
The return journey was full of challenges. When the spacecraft entered Earth's atmosphere,it had to
face high temperatures caused by friction().The surface of the spacecraft became very hot, like a
fireball in the sky.20.Finally,with the help of parachutes(降落伞),it landed smoothly on the
ground.
The successful return of Shenzhou-19 is a big step for China's space program. It shows that China is
getting better at space exploration and technology. It also makes us look forward to more exciting space
missions in the future.
A.Before leaving, they video-called their families to share their joy.
B.For example, they did science experiments to study how things work in space.
C.Their safe return made the whole country excited.

Dear David,
How are you doing?I'm writing to share an unforgettable
activity with you.In order to make us show an interest in
space,my school held an activity named School Space Day in
our school hall on 24th April.
First,we attended a lecture given by a well-known space
expert at 10 a.m.During the lecture,we had a deep
understanding of the secrets of space. Then,we visited a
space exhibition at 2 p.m.There,we saw some spacesuits at
close quarters and learned about the history of human space
exploration by watching some videos. One of my favourite
parts was taking part in the water rocket launching contest at
4 p.m.What made it special was that it enabled us to express
our creativity.
The activity not only taught us about the mysteries of
space and broadened our horizons, but also brought science to
life.Looking forward to hearing about your recent interesting
activities as well.
Yours,
Li Hua
