阅读下列短文,从每题所给的 A、B、C、D 四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A Reusable Lunch Containers: Material Notes
A useful lunch container must match both the food and the journey. The notes below compare three 700-milliliter containers tested with their standard lids. Capacity alone does not decide which one is suitable.
The tested borosilicate-glass container can go directly from a refrigerator to the cafeteria microwave and does not retain tomato stains. It is rated for food up to 200 degrees Celsius. At 610 grams, however, it is the heaviest choice, and its clip lid may leak a few drops if the container is carried on its side.
Stainless steel weighs 285 grams. Its silicone-ring lid remained dry when the container was shaken sideways, and the bowl can hold soup up to 95 degrees Celsius. The metal must not enter a microwave, and the ring should be removed and washed by hand after oily food.
Copolyester weighs only 205 grams and also passed the sideways leak test. It suits salads, fruit, and food below 60 degrees Celsius. Microwave use and very hot food are not recommended, although the clear body makes it easy to check whether sauce remains after washing.
For any material, follow food-safety guidance on how long cooked food may cool before sealing it. Replace a lid if its edge is bent or its ring no longer sits evenly; material advantages cannot compensate for a poor seal.
21. Which container can safely hold 90-degree soup and stay dry when carried sideways?
A. Borosilicate glass.
B. Stainless steel.
C. Copolyester.
D. No tested material.
22. Which choice best suits someone who must reheat lunch in a microwave and wants a container that will not retain tomato stains?
A. Steel without its ring.
B. Copolyester for cool food.
C. Borosilicate glass.
D. A box with a bent lid.
23. What is the main purpose of the notes?
A. To match container properties with different uses.
B. To rank containers only by their weight.
C. To replace food-safety guidance with material tests.
D. To explain how to manufacture three kinds of lids.
B
When Elena joined the student news team writing live text updates for school events, she believed accuracy meant typing every spoken word. During her first debate, she kept correcting small phrases while the speakers moved on. Her sentences were complete, but they appeared several seconds late.
Afterward, Jonah, the editor monitoring the event app, showed her the moment a speaker contrasted two proposals. The key word but appeared only after the next response had begun. Jonah explained that a complete transcript delivered late could fail as a live update.
Elena began listening for the structure of an idea before choosing its shortest clear form. She kept names, numbers and contrast words, but removed repeated greetings and verbal fillers. If a name was uncertain, she marked it briefly instead of freezing the entire line while she searched for it.
At the next forum, one speaker abandoned a long sentence halfway through and restarted with a simpler claim. Elena deleted the unfinished branch and distilled the restart into eight words. The update reached the app before the next speaker responded, so readers could follow both the claim and the reply.
Elena still checked the recording afterward and corrected the archive transcript. Yet she no longer confused that transcript with a live update. Faithfulness in summary writing, she learned, meant preserving the speaker's central idea at the moment readers needed it.
24. What problem affected Elena's first live updates?
A. They omitted every speaker's name.
B. They appeared before the speakers talked.
C. They copied the audience's reaction.
D. They reached the app too late.
25. Why did Jonah point to the delayed word but?
A. To ask Elena to preserve every greeting.
B. To show that delay could change how readers understood a contrast.
C. To prove that the archive transcript was wrong.
D. To suggest that contrast words should be removed.
26. What does the underlined word "distilled" in paragraph 4 most nearly mean?
A. Translated into another language.
B. Stored for later correction.
C. Expanded with extra detail.
D. Reduced to its essential meaning.
27. What did Elena learn about a live text update?
A. It should preserve central meaning while arriving in time.
B. It should reproduce every hesitation before moving on.
C. It works best when all uncertain names are removed.
D. It should serve as the final archive transcript.
C
Farmers use surface covers to slow the loss of water from soil, but different covers do not work in identical ways. A research group compared bare soil, a two-centimeter layer of chopped straw and a two-centimeter layer of shredded leaves in thirty identical pots of sandy loam.
Ten pots were assigned to each treatment. Before watering, researchers recorded the dry baseline mass of every complete pot, including the pot, soil and any cover material. They then watered all pots until drainage began, allowed them to drain for two hours, and recorded each pot's starting mass.
All pots stayed for seventy-two hours in a ventilated shelter with the same light, temperature and airflow and no additional water. Researchers weighed every pot at twelve-hour intervals. By subtracting each pot's dry baseline mass from each later measurement, they estimated how much water remained in the soil-and-cover system.
By the first twelve-hour reading, both covered groups had retained more water than the bare-soil group. At seventy-two hours, the straw pots retained 63 percent of their starting water, the leaf-covered pots 52 percent and the bare pots 37 percent. The result suggests that both the presence and structure of a cover affected short-term water loss.
The results establish short-term patterns under the tested shelter conditions. They do not show that straw will always produce the best crop yield: field soil depth, rainfall, crop growth and the need to protect soil between seasons could change a farmer's decision.
28. What did researchers record after the two-hour drainage period?
A. The first twelve-hour reading.
B. The depth of the surface cover.
C. Each pot's starting mass.
D. The final percentage of water retained.
29. Why were the pots kept under the same shelter conditions?
A. To isolate differences associated with surface treatment.
B. To reproduce every condition on a working farm.
C. To ensure that all pots lost the same amount of water.
D. To measure water at only one soil depth.
30. Which conclusion is supported by the experiment?
A. It proves that straw always produces the highest crop yield.
B. It proves that leaf cover prevents all water loss from soil.
C. It proves that field rainfall cannot alter the value of a cover.
D. It shows that straw retained the most water under the test conditions.
31. What is the passage mainly about?
A. Why farmers should replace crops with straw.
B. How surface covers differed in a staged water-retention test.
C. How one sensor measured water at several depths.
D. Why sandy soil cannot store winter runoff.
D
Walk along many gravel-bed rivers and the stones near the lower reaches often look smaller and rounder than those upstream. That pattern invites a simple story in which every stone is gradually polished during one uninterrupted trip. Field evidence supports part of the story, but not the whole of it.
As stones roll and slide, exposed corners receive concentrated impacts. Small chips break away, and repeated contact wears sharp edges faster than broad faces. Rounding therefore tends to be rapid when a fragment is angular and slower after its outline has already become smooth.
The river also sorts its load. A flat or irregular stone may become trapped between larger pieces, while a compact rounded stone of similar mass may keep moving. A downstream collection can consequently grow rounder both because individual stones change shape and because certain shapes travel farther.
Rock type complicates the picture further. Tough quartz-rich stones may survive many collisions, whereas weak layered rocks may split before becoming smoothly rounded. Tributaries also add fresh angular fragments at different points. Size or roundness alone therefore cannot reveal how long one stone has traveled.
Geologists combine measurements of shape, rock type, channel energy, and tributary inputs to explain a gravel deposit. These comparisons reveal processes acting on groups of stones; they cannot reconstruct every collision in the hidden journey of a single pebble.
32. Why can angular stones become rounder relatively quickly at first?
A. Their broad faces absorb all channel energy.
B. Tributaries prevent them from moving.
C. Their exposed corners receive concentrated impacts.
D. Their rock type changes during transport.
33. What does the sorting process imply about a downstream sample?
A. Every stone in it has traveled the same distance.
B. Only weak layered rocks can reach it.
C. Its roundness results entirely from abrasion.
D. Its shapes reflect both change and selective movement.
34. How does the author view attempts to infer one pebble's journey from roundness alone?
A. Confident because roundness records every collision.
B. Cautious because several processes produce the pattern.
C. Indifferent because rock type has no effect.
D. Supportive when the pebble comes from a tributary.
35. What is the main purpose of the passage?
A. To explain river-stone rounding while defining the evidence limits.
B. To provide instructions for polishing stones by hand.
C. To argue that downstream stones never change shape.
D. To rank rock types by their commercial value.
第二节 七选五(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
A team under time pressure cannot discuss every possible move. It can, however, practice a short process for reaching a shared decision. Begin by agreeing on the signal that starts the process, such as a captain calling one word after possession changes. ___36___ Without a common trigger, some players will still be reading the old situation while others act.
Next, limit each report to information that can change the choice. A defender might say, 'left side free,' rather than describe every player's position. ___37___ The aim is not silence; it is useful information arriving before the decision expires.
The leader should then name the choice and ask one teammate to confirm it. That confirmation is more than politeness. ___38___ If the words do not match, the team can correct the plan before movement begins.
Practice the process with a visible countdown. Start with ten seconds, then shorten the window as the team's reports become clearer. ___39___ A failed round gives the team something specific to examine: Was the trigger missed, was a report too long, or was the choice not confirmed?
During review, describe the decision rather than blaming the person who spoke last. Keep one phrase that helped and replace one that caused delay. ___40___ The process becomes reliable when players can adjust its language without abandoning its structure.
A. It makes the final instruction audible to both the leader and the group.
B. Let every player introduce a completely new system after each mistake.
C. Short reports leave working memory available for comparing the remaining options.
D. Speed matters most when no one has been assigned a speaking role.
E. Repeat the revised process in the next round while the change is still clear.
F. Rehearse that signal until every player responds to the same moment.
G. Do not stop the countdown simply because the first attempts feel untidy.

Lena had spent three weeks designing her first shadow puppet for the village theater. She had ___41___ dozens of tiny wave patterns into the fisherman's robe, certain that the audience would admire each cut.
During rehearsal, the lamp threw the puppet's shadow onto the screen. From beside the lamp, every opening looked delicate. From the last row, however, the narrow cuts ___42___ into a gray patch. Master Rafi did not call the carving ___43___. He asked Lena to watch the figure move without looking at the puppet in her hand.
The fisherman's outline was difficult to read whenever the net crossed his body. Rafi explained that the outer shape had to ___44___ before an interior pattern could contribute. On the final puppet, she left one ___49___ band across the robe, widened the shoulders, and ___50___ the curve of the net. She kept only the small cuts that helped viewers ___51___ the fisherman's arm from the mesh.
At the next rehearsal, several children ___52___ the fisherman before the narrator named him. One boy traced the net's curve with his finger in the air, a ___53___ that told Lena which line had reached the back row. Her detail had not vanished; it had become more ___54___. 第二节 语法填空(共10小题;每小题1.5分,满分15分)
阅读下面短文,在空白处填入1个适当的单词或括号内单词的正确形式。
Across a dry farming district, small ponds have become part of irrigation planning. Winter runoff ___56___ (collect) and stored in each pond before it reaches the lower road. The outlet setting and the release amount are fixed in advance. Because one release is required within each seven-day cycle, farmers decide exactly ___57___ to release it by comparing soil readings with a three-day forecast.
A sensor buried twenty centimeters below the surface sends ___58___ (it) reading to the pond operator. If the upper layer is dry but the deeper soil remains wet, waiting can prevent water from being released ___59___ (necessary). The operator records every ___60___ (release) so that neighboring farms can track the remaining supply.
These records, ___61___ are shared at a weekly meeting, allow each family ___62___ (see) whether a change in timing helped. This practice has been ___63___ (wide) accepted across the district, reducing disputes because the same measurements are available to everyone.
According to meter records, two early-morning releases ___64___ (save) eight cubic meters of water last week compared with one afternoon release that supplied the same fields. For the committee, ___65___ clearest lesson was that careful timing can make stored water serve more fields, even though a pond cannot end a drought.

Maya volunteered as the bilingual guide at a neighborhood seed exchange. She had practiced the standard English names on every printed label and expected to move smoothly between the welcome table and the seed display board. Organizer Ms. Patel had also left a stack of blank cards, a black marker and a vegetable chart for any variety missing from the printed list.
The first busy hour went as planned. Then Mrs. Alvarez placed a packet of pale seeds on the display. Its handwritten label used a regional Spanish name Maya had never encountered. A planting month was written below it, but no English name appeared. Mrs. Alvarez said the variety had grown in her family's garden for years, and her grandson Diego held a notebook with a sketch of its long fruit.
Several visitors waited for Maya's English translation. She could name the general type of plant, but the quickest familiar word might erase the feature Mrs. Alvarez considered important. Maya felt heat rise to her face. She had imagined a bilingual guide as the person who always supplied an answer, not the person who paused in front of a crowd.
Ms. Patel was helping at another table, so the choice belonged to Maya. She looked from the printed vegetable chart to Diego's sketch and the blank cards. Guessing would keep the line moving, but it would also replace missing knowledge with unsupported confidence.
Paragraph 1:
Maya placed a blank card beside the unfamiliar word instead of offering the quick translation everyone expected.
Paragraph 2:
By noon, the once-empty side of the display held six paired names in careful handwriting.

66. 答案:见参考范文
解析:申请信须围绕双语广播服务,具体呈现校园播报经历、跨语言传意、专名发音核对、重音标记、降噪与时长控制,并说明发音清单、开场排练、演播室时长跟踪及可参与时间。称呼、结束语和署名单独成段,三个正文段功能不同。
参考范文
Dear Ms. Chen,
I am writing to apply as a bilingual volunteer for our International Radio Festival. Last term, I hosted a weekly two-minute campus bulletin and prepared matching Chinese and English introductions for each episode.
That experience taught me to convey meaning across languages rather than translate word for word. When a guest used an unfamiliar place name, I checked its pronunciation before recording and marked the stressed syllable on our script. I can also reduce background noise and keep a segment within its time limit.
If selected, I will build a shared pronunciation list, help speakers rehearse their openings, and keep track of segment timing from the studio desk. I am free after school on Thursday for rehearsal and throughout the festival on Saturday.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua

Maya placed a blank card beside the unfamiliar word instead of offering the quick translation everyone expected. She told Mrs. Alvarez that the term was new to her and asked what made this variety different. Diego opened his notebook to a sketch of a long, pale-green squash. Mrs. Alvarez described how the family cooked it and pointed to the planting month on the packet. Maya found the matching vegetable group on the chart. She wrote the regional name first, added the broader English name below it, and placed the card beside Diego's sketch. She invited him to read the pair aloud.
By noon, the once-empty side of the display held six paired names in careful handwriting. Visitors had added words from three regions, each beside a sketch or seed packet. Maya moved between the display and the welcome table, interpreting questions and asking speakers to explain terms she had not learned. When a younger volunteer hesitated over an unfamiliar name, Maya handed her a blank card and the marker. Maya and Diego moved the completed display beside the welcome table, each holding one side. Maya's practiced vocabulary was useful, but the display now held knowledge that no single guide had brought.
