Para 1: The middle-aged man gently helped Emily out of the car, wrapping a thick blanket around her trembling shoulders. "You are safe now," he said in a warm, reassuring voice. His wife appeared with a cup of hot chocolate, steam rising from the mug. Emily sipped it slowly, feeling the warmth spread through her frozen body. She could not hold back her tears as she thanked the couple repeatedly for their kindness.
Para 2: The next morning, the storm had passed, and the sun shone brightly on the snow-covered landscape. The couple helped Emily dig her car out of the snowdrift and insisted that she stay for breakfast before leaving. As Emily drove away, she looked in the rearview mirror at the couple waving goodbye, and made a silent promise to herself: she would pay this kindness forward, helping anyone in need just as they had helped her. That snowy night had taught her that even in the darkest storms, human warmth could light the way home.

The sun beat down mercilessly on the track as Tom stood at the starting line of the 5,000-meter race. His heart pounded with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. For months, he had trained relentlessly, waking up at five every morning to run before school. This was his first school sports meet, and he had dreamed of this moment for years.
The whistle blew, and the pack of runners surged forward. Tom settled into a steady pace, focusing on his breathing. By the third lap, he had moved into the top five. But as he rounded the corner of the fourth lap, a sharp pain shot through his right calf. He stumbled, grabbing his leg. It was a cramp — the worst he had ever experienced.
Tom slowed to a walk, his leg throbbing with every step. The other runners passed him one by one. He could hear his coach shouting from the sidelines, but the words were drowned out by the pain. "Just quit," a voice in his head whispered. "No one will blame you. You tried your best." He looked at the finish line, still two laps away, and felt tears welling up in his eyes.
Then he remembered the early morning runs in the rain, the blisters on his feet, the way his coach had believed in him when no one else did. He thought of his parents, who had worked extra shifts to buy him proper running shoes. Quitting now would mean throwing away everything he had worked for. Tom took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and started running again — slowly, painfully, but running.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
Despite the unbearable pain, Tom kept moving forward, one agonizing step at a time.

When Tom finally crossed the finish line, the entire stadium erupted in cheers"要求续写他冲过终点后的场景,要描写观众的反应、教练和父母的反应,以及Tom的内心感悟,最后升华主题——坚持比名次更重要。
3. 伏笔回收:原文提到"early morning runs in the rain""blisters on his feet""coach had believed in him""parents worked extra shifts",续写时可适当呼应这些细节,如冲线后看到教练和父母,形成情感闭环。
4. 描写重点:动作描写(limped / staggered / gritted his teeth / sweat streamed down)、环境描写(the blazing sun / the roaring crowd)、心理描写(the pain was unbearable but he refused to give up)。

Lily sat alone in the corner of the classroom, her head buried in a book. It had been two months since she transferred to this city high school from a small village, but she still felt like an outsider. Her classmates spoke with polished city accents, while hers carried the soft, rural lilt of her hometown. Whenever she raised her hand to answer a question, a few students would snicker quietly, and she would immediately fall silent.
One afternoon, Ms. Chen, the English teacher, announced that the school would hold an English speech contest the following month. "I want everyone to consider participating," she said, her eyes scanning the room. When her gaze landed on Lily, she smiled warmly. Lily quickly looked down, her heart racing. The thought of standing on a stage and speaking in front of hundreds of people terrified her. What if they laughed at her accent?
After class, Ms. Chen asked Lily to stay behind. "I read your essay about your grandmother's garden," she said gently. "It was the most beautiful piece I have read all year. You have a gift with words, Lily. The speech contest would be a wonderful chance to share your story." Lily shook her head. "But my accent... everyone will laugh." Ms. Chen placed a hand on her shoulder. "Your voice is unique, and that is what makes it special. The audience will listen to your words, not judge your accent."
That night, Lily lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. She thought about Ms. Chen's words and about the essay she had written — about her grandmother's beautiful garden and the lessons she had learned there. Slowly, a tiny spark of courage ignited in her chest. The next morning, she walked into Ms. Chen's office and said, "I want to join the speech contest." For the next three weeks, she practiced every day after school, refining her speech and working on her pronunciation.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;

The day of the speech contest arrived, and Lily stood backstage, her hands trembling.
When Lily finished her speech, the auditorium was silent for a moment — then burst into thunderous applause.

When Lily finished her speech, the auditorium was silent for a moment — then burst into thunderous applause"要求续写演讲结束后的场景,要描写观众的反应、老师的反应,以及Lily的内心感悟,最后升华主题——真实和真诚比完美的发音更有力量。
4. 描写重点:心理描写(heart pounding / knees weak / voice shaking / gradually gaining confidence)、动作描写(took a deep breath / stepped onto the stage / spoke with growing confidence)、环境描写(the bright spotlight / the hushed auditorium)。

Jack was the class monitor, but if you asked his classmates, they would say he was the "monitor in name only." As the graduation party approached, everyone was busy with preparations — decorating the classroom, arranging performances, preparing food. Jack, however, had a different approach. He assigned tasks to everyone else and then retreated to his phone, claiming he was "coordinating" from his desk.
"Jack, can you help me carry these boxes of decorations?" asked Lisa, the art committee leader. "Oh, I'm busy with the budget spreadsheet," Jack replied without looking up. The truth was, he was playing a mobile game. He had always believed that being a monitor meant telling others what to do, not doing the work himself. Let others handle the dirty work, he thought. That was leadership.
The day before the party, disaster struck. Mike, who had been in charge of the sound system and music, called to say he had a high fever and could not come to school. The class panicked. No one else knew how to operate the complicated audio equipment. The performances required background music, and without it, the whole party would fall apart. "We need to find someone to replace Mike," said Lisa, looking around the room.
Everyone turned to Jack. He felt their eyes on him and his face grew hot. For a moment, he wanted to make an excuse — to say he was too busy, that it wasn't his job. But then he looked at his classmates, their faces filled with worry and exhaustion. They had all worked so hard, while he had done almost nothing. A wave of guilt washed over him. This was his responsibility, he realized. He was the monitor, and monitors led by example, not by delegation.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
"I'll handle the sound system," Jack said suddenly, surprising even himself.
As the last song faded and the class cheered, Jack looked around the room and felt a warmth he had never experienced before.
I'll handle the sound system,' Jack said suddenly, surprising even himself"要求续写Jack学习操作音响设备和准备晚会的过程,要重点描写他从手忙脚乱到逐渐掌握的过程,以及同学们态度的转变。
As the last song faded and the class cheered, Jack looked around the room and felt a warmth he had never experienced before"要求续写晚会成功后的场景,要描写同学们的认可、Jack的内心感悟,最后升华主题——真正的领导力是以身作则、勇于担当。
3. 伏笔回收:原文提到"monitor in name only""playing a mobile game""Lisa asked for help""Mike's sound system",续写时可让Jack在准备过程中得到Lisa的帮助,呼应之前他拒绝帮助Lisa的情节,形成人物成长闭环。
4. 描写重点:动作描写(fumbled with the controls / read the manual / adjusted the microphone)、心理描写(nervous but determined / felt a surge of pride)、对话描写(同学从质疑到认可的对话)。
Mike had been afraid of water for as long as he could remember. When he was seven years old, he had fallen into a swimming pool and nearly drowned before his father pulled him out. Since then, even the sight of a pool made his heart race. He always found excuses to skip swimming class — "I have a cold," "I forgot my swimsuit," "I need to finish my homework." His friends teased him about it, but Mike did not care. Staying dry was worth the embarrassment.
One Saturday in late May, Mike and his friends went to a lakeside park for a picnic. The weather was perfect — warm sunshine, gentle breeze, clear blue water. They spread out a blanket and unpacked sandwiches and fruit. Mike's friend David brought his eight-year-old sister, Emma, along. Emma was a lively girl who loved running around and exploring. She kept wandering toward the water, and David had to call her back several times.
After lunch, the boys decided to play frisbee on the grassy field. "Emma, stay here and don't go near the water, okay?" David told her. Emma nodded, but her eyes were already fixed on a beautiful yellow butterfly fluttering near the shore. The boys ran off, laughing and chasing the frisbee. For a while, everything was peaceful. Then came a scream — high, piercing, and full of terror.
Mike spun around. Emma was in the lake, her small arms flailing desperately as she slipped deeper into the water. The butterfly had lured her in, and the muddy shore had given way under her feet. "Emma!" David shouted, dropping the frisbee and sprinting toward the lake. But he was fifty meters away. Mike stood frozen, his heart hammering. The water looked dark and cold, and he could feel the old terror rising in his chest. Every instinct told him to run away. But Emma was drowning, and every second mattered.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
Before he could think twice, Mike kicked off his shoes and dove into the cold water.
Later, sitting by the shore with a blanket wrapped around him, Mike looked out at the lake and smiled.
Before he could think twice, Mike kicked off his shoes and dove into the cold water"要求续写Mike跳水救人的过程,要重点描写他在水中的恐惧与挣扎,以及如何克服恐惧救起Emma,动作链要清晰连贯。
Later, sitting by the shore with a blanket wrapped around him, Mike looked out at the lake and smiled"要求续写救人后的场景,要描写David和Emma的感激、朋友们的敬佩,以及Mike的内心感悟,最后升华主题——勇气不是不害怕,而是在害怕时依然选择行动。
3. 伏笔回收:原文提到"nearly drowned at age seven""afraid of water""David was fifty meters away""yellow butterfly",续写时可让Mike在水中回忆起七岁溺水的经历,但这次他选择了勇敢,形成人物成长的对比闭环。
4. 描写重点:动作链(kicked off shoes / dove in / thrashed his arms / grabbed Emma / pulled her to shore)、心理描写(terror gripping him / but he could not let her drown / adrenaline surged)、环境描写(the cold water / the murky lake bottom / the distant shore)。
For six months, Sarah had poured her heart and soul into building a robot. It was supposed to be her entry for the city's Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition — a robot that could sort recyclable materials automatically, using sensors and a mechanical arm. She had spent countless weekends in the school lab, soldering circuits, writing code, and testing prototypes. Her science teacher, Mr. Wang, had guided her every step of the way, praising her creativity and determination.
The competition was only a week away. Sarah brought her robot to the lab for a final test run. She placed a pile of mixed plastic bottles and aluminum cans in front of it and pressed the start button. The robot whirred to life, its sensors scanning the materials. For a few glorious seconds, it worked perfectly — picking up a plastic bottle and placing it in the correct bin. Then, without warning, there was a sharp crack, a puff of smoke, and the mechanical arm went limp. The main circuit board had burned out.
Sarah stared at the lifeless robot, her hands shaking. Six months of work, gone in an instant. She felt tears streaming down her face. "It's over," she whispered. "I can't fix this in a week. I should just quit." She packed up her things and left the lab, not even saying goodbye to Mr. Wang. That night, she sat at her desk, looking at the stack of design notebooks filled with sketches and calculations. All that effort, all those late nights — for nothing.
Her phone buzzed. It was a message from Mr. Wang: "I heard what happened. I know you're disappointed, but remember what you told me when you started this project — 'The best inventions are born from the biggest failures.' The parts shop downtown opens at eight tomorrow. I'll be there. Your call." Sarah read the message twice, then looked back at her notebooks. Slowly, she wiped her tears and opened her design software. She was not going to let six months of work go to waste. Failure was not the end — it was just the beginning of something better.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
For the next five days, Sarah worked almost without sleep, redesigning the circuit and rebuilding the mechanical arm from scratch.
When the results were announced, Sarah did not win first place — but the silver medal around her neck felt heavier and more precious than any gold.
For the next five days, Sarah worked almost without sleep, redesigning the circuit and rebuilding the mechanical arm from scratch"要求续写她重建机器人的过程,要重点描写她的辛苦付出、遇到的困难和克服困难的过程,动作和细节要丰富。
When the results were announced, Sarah did not win first place — but the silver medal around her neck felt heavier and more precious than any gold"要求续写比赛结果公布后的场景,要描写Sarah的内心感悟、Mr.
3. 伏笔回收:原文提到"six months of work""Mr. Wang's guidance""best inventions are born from the biggest failures""design notebooks",续写时可让Sarah在重建过程中引用自己说过的这句话,呼应原文,形成主题闭环。
4. 描写重点:动作描写(soldered circuits until fingers were sore / rewrote line after line of code / tested and retested / eyes bloodshot)、心理描写(exhausted but determined / moments of doubt / but she pushed on)、环境描写(the dim lab light / the pile of discarded parts / the early morning sunrise)。
Passage 1
Para 1: Despite the unbearable pain, Tom kept moving forward, one agonizing step at a time. His right calf felt like it was on fire, and every stride sent a jolt of pain through his body. Sweat streamed down his face, mixing with tears that he could no longer hold back. The other runners had long disappeared ahead, but Tom did not care about winning anymore. He only cared about finishing. "One more step," he told himself through gritted teeth. "Just one more step." The crowd on the sidelines had gone quiet, then began to clap in unison, their cheers growing louder with every painful step he took.
Para 2: When Tom finally crossed the finish line, the entire stadium erupted in cheers. His coach rushed over and caught him before his legs gave out, wrapping a towel around his shoulders. "You did it, son," his coach said, his voice thick with emotion. Tom's parents pushed through the crowd, their faces wet with tears, and hugged him tightly. "We are so proud of you," his mother whispered. Tom looked out at the cheering crowd, then down at his throbbing leg, and smiled through the pain. He had not won the race, but he had won something far more important — he had proven to himself that he would never give up, no matter how difficult the journey. That, he realized, was the true meaning of perseverance.
【亮点解析】①动作链连贯(one agonizing step at a time / gritted teeth / legs gave out);②心理描写真实(did not care about winning anymore / only cared about finishing);③环境与侧面烘托(crowd went quiet then began to clap in unison);④伏笔回收(coach's pride / parents' tears 呼应原文early morning runs和extra shifts);⑤主题升华(true meaning of perseverance);⑥高级句型(despite引导让步状语、that引导宾语从句、no matter how引导让步状语从句)。
Passage 2
Para 1: The day of the speech contest arrived, and Lily stood backstage, her hands trembling. She could hear the audience murmuring in the auditorium, and her heart was pounding so loudly that she thought everyone could hear it. "What if I freeze?" she thought. "What if they laugh at my accent?" Just then, she looked up and saw Ms. Chen standing in the wings, giving her a warm, encouraging smile and a thumbs-up. Lily took a deep breath, remembered her grandmother's garden and the beautiful story she had to share, and stepped onto the stage. The bright spotlight hit her face, and for a moment, her voice shook. But as she began to speak about her grandmother's flowers and the lessons they had taught her, her voice grew steadier and more confident.
Para 2: When Lily finished her speech, the auditorium was silent for a moment — then burst into thunderous applause. People stood up, cheering and clapping, and Lily could see several students who had once laughed at her accent now clapping the loudest. Ms. Chen was wiping tears from her eyes, beaming with pride. As Lily walked off the stage, a girl from her class came up to her and said, "That was the most beautiful speech I have ever heard. Your voice is amazing." Lily felt tears welling up in her eyes, but these were tears of joy. She had learned that her accent was not a flaw to be ashamed of — it was a part of who she was, a bridge between her old home and her new one. True confidence, she realized, came not from sounding like everyone else, but from having the courage to be yourself.
【亮点解析】①心理变化细腻(heart pounding / voice shook / grew steadier and more confident);②伏笔回收(grandmother's garden / Ms. Chen's encouragement / students who had once laughed);③对比手法(students who laughed now clapping the loudest);④主题升华(accent is not a flaw / courage to be yourself);⑤高级句型(as引导时间状语从句、that引导宾语从句、not...but...
Passage 3
Para 1: "I'll handle the sound system," Jack said suddenly, surprising even himself. The class stared at him in disbelief, but Jack did not back down. He rushed to the audio closet, pulled out the user manual, and began reading it frantically. The equipment was more complicated than he had imagined — wires everywhere, buttons with confusing labels, a mixing board that looked like the control panel of a spaceship. For the first hour, he fumbled helplessly, accidentally cutting the power twice and producing a loud screech that made everyone cover their ears. But Jack did not give up. He called Mike, who talked him through the basics over the phone. Lisa, seeing his determination, came over to help, and together they spent the entire afternoon testing every microphone and speaker. By evening, Jack could operate the system with confidence.
Para 2: As the last song faded and the class cheered, Jack looked around the room and felt a warmth he had never experienced before. The party had been a huge success — every performance went smoothly, the music was perfect, and everyone was talking about how amazing the sound system was. His classmates came up to him, patting him on the back and saying, "Great job, Jack! We couldn't have done it without you." Lisa smiled at him and said, "You were a real leader today." Jack felt a lump in his throat. He had spent months thinking that leadership meant telling others what to do, but now he understood the truth: real leadership was about rolling up your sleeves and doing the hard work alongside everyone else. From that day on, Jack was no longer the "monitor in name only" — he was a leader who led by example.
【亮点解析】①动作描写丰富(fumbled helplessly / cutting the power / testing every microphone);②心理转变自然(surprising even himself / did not give up / felt a lump in his throat);③伏笔回收(monitor in name only / Lisa who he once refused to help / Mike's sound system);④对比手法(from "monitor in name only" to "leader who led by example");⑤主题升华(real leadership was about rolling up your sleeves);⑥高级句型(more complicated than he had imagined / that引导定语从句、no longer...but...
Passage 4
Para 1: Before he could think twice, Mike kicked off his shoes and dove into the cold water. The moment his body hit the lake, the old terror gripped him like a vice. He could feel himself sinking, and for a terrifying second, he was seven years old again, drowning in that swimming pool, his lungs burning for air. But then he heard Emma's gurgling cry, and something snapped inside him. Kicking his legs desperately, he surfaced, gasping for air, and swam toward her with all his strength. The water was murky and cold, and his arms felt like lead, but he kept going. When he reached Emma, she was barely conscious, her small body limp in the water. Mike wrapped one arm around her and used the other to paddle toward the shore, every stroke a battle against the panic that threatened to overwhelm him.
Para 2: Later, sitting by the shore with a blanket wrapped around him, Mike looked out at the lake and smiled. David was kneeling beside him, tears streaming down his face, repeatedly saying, "Thank you, Mike. You saved her life. You are a hero." Emma was wrapped in another blanket, coughing but alive, and she reached out and grabbed Mike's hand with her tiny, cold fingers. Their friends gathered around, staring at Mike with newfound respect. Mike looked down at Emma's small hand in his, then out at the lake that had once terrified him, and felt something shift inside. He was still afraid of water — that fear would never fully go away — but he now understood that courage was not the absence of fear. Courage was feeling the fear and doing what needed to be done anyway. That day, by the lake, Mike had finally found his courage.

Passage 5
Para 1: For the next five days, Sarah worked almost without sleep, redesigning the circuit and rebuilding the mechanical arm from scratch. Mr. Wang showed up at the parts shop at eight o'clock sharp on Monday morning, just as he had promised, and together they bought every component they needed. Back in the lab, Sarah soldered circuits until her fingers were sore, rewrote line after line of code, and tested the robot again and again. There were moments of despair — on Wednesday night, the new arm malfunctioned for the tenth time, and Sarah broke down crying, convinced that she would never finish in time. But Mr. Wang put a hand on her shoulder and said, "Remember what you said — the best inventions are born from the biggest failures." Wiping her tears, Sarah went back to work. By Friday evening, the robot was not perfect, but it worked. It could sort plastic from metal, slowly but reliably.
Para 2: When the results were announced, Sarah did not win first place — but the silver medal around her neck felt heavier and more precious than any gold. As she stood on the stage, holding her slightly imperfect robot, she thought about the past week — the sleepless nights, the tears, the moments of doubt, and the quiet determination that had kept her going. Mr. Wang was in the audience, smiling and clapping louder than anyone. After the ceremony, a judge came up to her and said, "Your robot may not be the most polished, but your story of perseverance is the most inspiring thing I have seen all day." Sarah smiled, realizing that the silver medal was not a consolation prize — it was a testament to the fact that she had refused to give up, even when everything seemed lost. She had learned that success was not about never failing, but about rising every time you fall, and that the journey itself was the greatest reward.
