Last term, my younger brother Tom had difficulty with math. “I just don’t understand these equations (方程式),” he said angrily one evening, pushing his textbook away.
“I’ll help,” I offered. As I explained the problems, something surprising happened—the knowledge became clearer to me too! Teaching helped me to organize my thoughts. “See, if you move this number here...” I said, watching Tom’s face light up with understanding.
The next week, our neighbor Lisa asked for help with English grammar. Preparing to teach her, I created colorful charts (图表) to explain grammar. To my joy, all this helped me remember the rules better than just memorizing (背) them.
Then came the real test—the midterm exams. For the first time, I tried studying by “teaching” a fanciful (假想的) class. I stood in my room explaining each topic aloud as if to students. This active practice really worked! My grades improved a lot.
Now I use this method for all subjects. When learning history, I “teach” the timeline to my toys. For science, I draw charts to explain things to the “me” in the mirror.
My teacher calls this the “protege effect” (门徒效应)—we learn best when we prepare to teach. It’s become my secret. As I told Tom recently while helping him with chemistry, “The best way to learn something is to teach it to someone else.”
59. Why was the writer surprised when helping Tom with math?
A. Tom learned the equations faster than expected.
B. The writer’s own knowledge of math became clearer.
C. Tom got angry at the difficult problems.
D. The writer forgot how to solve the equations at first.
60. What does the underlined word “method” mean in the text?
A. A plan to do something. B. An idea of creating something.
C. A way of doing something. D. A pattern of thinking.
61. What is the right order according to the story?
a. The writer used charts to explain grammar.
b. The writer shared his learning secret with Tom.
c. The writer’s grades improved a lot.
d. The writer helped explain math problems to Tom.
e. Tom didn’t understand the equations.
A. d-e-b-a-c B. e-d-a-c-b C. d-b-e-c-a D. e-b-d-a-c
B 60. C 61. B
根据第二段“As I explained the problems, something surprising happened — the knowledge became clearer to me too!”
根据第五段“Now I use this method for all subjects.”结合上文第四段“I stood in my room explaining each topic aloud as if to students. This active practice really worked!”
根据第一段“Tom...don’t understand these equations (方程式)”对应e;第二段“‘I’ll help,’...As I explained”对应d;第三段“created colorful charts to explain grammar”对应a;第四段“My grades improved a lot”对应c;第六段“It’s become my secret. As I told Tom recently...”

Festivals have always been important in human culture. They give people chances to celebrate, think deeply, and connect with others. However, how teenagers (青少年) see and enjoy them has changed over time, though their main spirit stays the same.
In the past, festivals were mostly connected to cultural traditions. Teens took part in festivals to show respect (尊重) for their family history and spend special time with their family. And it gave them a sense of belonging.
Today, festivals are more than just traditions. Teens now see them as a way to show who they’ re and make their own choices. Social media has changed things too: many share festival moments online, posting photos of their festival clothes or funny times with friends. The likes or comments (评论) can even change how they think about the festivals.
Festivals still help teens find their interests and who they are. Some go to music festivals to listen to new singers. Some go to cultural events to learn about their family past. Others take part in niche (小众的) festivals—like gatherings where comic fans share their favorite stories, or events about protecting the earth. These fit their special hobbies and beliefs (信仰).
With new chances come challenges. Teens need to save money for tickets, stay safe, and make smart choices. Parents should help them enjoy festivals in a good way.
Though festivals have changed, their main values—celebration, friendship, and growth—remain Today’s teenagers mix old traditions with new ideas. And they make sure festivals keep their special meaning as young people grow up.
62. What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 2 refer to (指代)?
A. Festivals’ main spirit stays the same. B. Festival celebrations have changed over time.
C. Teens took part in festivals. D. Festivals connect with traditions.
63. What can we know about social media from Paragraph 3?
A. It makes festivals more traditional.
B. It changes the way teens make friends.
C. It has more teen users than adult users.
D. It makes a difference to teens’ opinions about festivals.
64. How does the writer explain his idea in Paragraph 4?
A. By showing numbers. B. By giving examples.
C. By giving reasons. D. By comparing some facts.
65. What’s the best title for this text?
A. Festivals in the Past B. Where does Social Media Lead Festivals to?
C. Protection of Festivals Starts from Teens D. New Face of Festivals in Teens’ Eyes
C 63. D 64. B 65. D

In Texas, there’s a special private school called Alpha. Unlike traditional schools, its students spend only two hours a day in class, with help from an AI “teacher”. But the results are great—they are among the top 1-2% students in the country.
Alpha uses AI to give each student personalized (个性化的) lessons. In the morning, students finish their main studies quickly. The rest of the day is for learning real-life skills, like speaking in public and working in teams.
The school started in 2016, after its founder, Mackenzie Price, noticed her daughters felt bored and unchallenged (没有挑战性的) at traditional schools. So she wanted to create a place where learning is efficient (高效的) and fun.
Student Elle, who has been at Alpha since second grade, says excitedly, “We finish our academic (学业的) studies in just two hours, and then we do what we love. I’m making an interesting and useful app about making friends for teens. It’s something that traditional school students, busy with homework, don’t have time for.”
Alpha now has schools in Austin, Brownsville, and Miami, with small classes. It plans to open seven more schools by 2025.“Compared to traditional teachers, we need guides who can teach children important life skills and provide them with emotional support (情绪支持),” Price says. “We can leave the academic things to AI. But it can never take the place of the human connection.”
The US government supports such new schools. They say parents should choose the best education for their kids, whether it’s AI-powered or traditional. And this new way of teaching shows AI can change learning, making it both efficient and enjoyable.
66. What makes Alpha different from traditional schools?
A. It has no human teachers at all.
B. Its students take classes for only two hours daily.
C. It only accepts the top 1-2% students in the country.
D. It doesn’t use any technology in teaching.
67. What does Paragraph 2 mainly talk about?
A. What is more important for students in Alpha.
B. Every student has his own way to study in Alpha.
C. Life skills matter a lot in students’ life in Alpha.
D. What everyday school life is like in Alpha.
68. What caused Price to come up with the idea of starting Alpha?
A. Her children’s wish to make school life easier and happier.
B. Her great interest in AI technologies.
C. Her children’s unhappiness at traditional schools.
D. Her great dream to change the future of education.
69. What can Elle’s words show us?
A. She didn’t like Alpha at first.
B. She enjoys the teaching pattern in Alpha.
C. She spends most of her time on developing her app.
D. She wants to spend more time on academic studies.
70. Which of the following may Price most probably agree with?
A. Children’s feelings should be cared about.
B. Traditional teachers are not needed at all.
C. There will be no traditional schools in a few years.
D. Life skills are more important than academic studies.
B 67. D 68. C 69. B 70. A

“Going on holiday with blind people opens your eyes,” says Wendy Coley. She often goes on tours with Travel Eyes, a company (公司) that takes tourists traveling around the world. What makes Travel Eyes tours special? For each tour, half of the travelers can see and half can’t.
The world is there for sighted (视力正常的) people but that can cause problems for the blind. So, sighted members describe and explain things they see to the blind on these tours. For example, they might explain food this way: Your lunch is a sandwich in the center of your plate, and chips in a bowl to the right of your plate.
Clearly, it is good for blind travelers. They are able to learn about new places and make new friends. “We don’t worry about danger any more. That’s really important,” says Jenny Tween, a blind tourist. But it also benefits (使受益) sighted travelers. Wendy is one of them. She says that when you describe what you see, you see things in a very different way. The tour manager (经理) of Travel Eyes, Hannah Vince, agrees. “Our tourism service was meant to make traveling easier for the blind at first. But now I think it benefits both the sighted people and the blind,” she said. Traveling with blind people and describing the world to them makes sighted people go more slowly and look more closely at colors, shapes, and the sizes of things. Blind people can also help sighted people find more about the smells of food or flowers, and the sounds of music or traffic.
In the end, this isn’t a story about people who can see help people who can’t. It’s about people with different abilities showing each other new ways of experiencing the world and meeting new friends.
71. What is special about Travel Eyes tours?
______________________________________________________________________
72. How do sighted people help the blind on these tours?
______________________________________________________________________
73. According to Jenny Tween, what is really important for blind travelers on these tours?
______________________________________________________________________
74. What does Hannah think of Travel Eyes’ tourism service now?
______________________________________________________________________
75. Would you like to go traveling with a blind person? Why or why not?
______________________________________________________________________
For each tour, half of the travelers can see and half can’t.
72.
They describe and explain things they see to the blind.
73.
They don’t worry about danger any more.
74.
It benefits both the sighted people and the blind.
75.
Yes, I’d like to. Because I can learn new ways of experiencing the world.
定位原文首段“What makes Travel Eyes tours special? For each tour, half of the travelers can see and half can’t.”,明确点明Travel Eyes旅行的特殊之处是每趟旅行的游客里视力正常和失明的人各占一半。
定位原文第二自然段“So, sighted members describe and explain things they see to the blind on these tours.”,说明在这类旅行中,视力正常的游客会向失明的游客描述、解释自己看到的事物来提供帮助。
定位原文第三自然段“‘We don’t worry about danger any more. That’s really important,’ says Jenny Tween, a blind tourist.”,盲人游客Jenny Tween表示,在这些旅行里他们不再需要担心危险,这对他们来说十分重要。
【74题详解】
定位原文第三自然段“‘But now I think it benefits both the sighted people and the blind,’ she said.,she指代Hannah Vince,这句话是她现在对这项旅游服务的看法。
这是开放性问题,定位原文末段“It’s about people with different abilities showing each other new ways of experiencing the world and meeting new friends.”,可以从体验世界、结交朋友角度作答,答案不唯一,言之有理即可。

王明看到Tom神情忧虑,结合下文Tom的回答“I failed my physics test again.”
下文Tom用“No. I hardly do exercises.”

Wish you were here
Emily went to London with her parents for a two-week holiday. She had a wonderful time and sent postcards to all her friends. Here are some of them.
Dear Eva,
London is really exciting. It’s such a busy city and so many people live here. There are lots of interesting things to do. There’s a subway system (系统), so we can travel all over the city really easily.
Yesterday we visited Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament and the famous Tower Bridge. I’ll be really tired when I get home.
See you soon.
Love,
Emily
Dear Kate,
I’m having a great holiday in London. This is an amazing city. There are lots of interesting buildings and museums to visit. The people here are very friendly and helpful. Once I lost my bag and someone gave it back to me. We got lost on the street yesterday and a policeman gave us the directions. The only thing I don’t like is the weather. It rains every day and it’s cold! It is easy to catch a cold here.
Wish you were here.
Love,
Emily
Dear Sarah,

Love,
Emily

A. d-e-b-a-c B. e-d-a-c-b C. d-b-e-c-a D. e-b-d-a-c
